Thank you for the feedback Pariah and cruefan68. Claudio’s win was a comeback of sorts as he did take a lot of punishment. His card mechanic is very strong so he may very well be the front runner to claim the title.

MsChif v. Thunderkitty
McChif has an answer for everything that Thunderkitty can throw at her early on and dominated the action until Thunderkitty scores with a back suplex and a DDT. McChif bails and the action goes to the floor where McChif tosses Thunderkitty into a ringside table knocking the table and the officials to the floor. The referee calls for the bell and disqualifies MsChif who responds by spraying her opponent with green mist and leaving her dazed at ringside Time: 1:01 Thunderkitty 4, MsChif 2, Rating dud

Angelus Layne v. Taylor Made
There is a great pace to this one from the opening bell. Layne steps up her attack and lands VICTORY LANE for a near fall. They go to the floor and tear it up. The referee cannot regain control and disqualifies both women. The fans cannot believe it and are all over the official. A controversial start to the tournament has promoters shaking their heads. Time: 0:52 Layne 3, Made 4 Rating dud

Barbi Hayden v. Vanessa Kraven
The fans had the impression that business was about to pick up. Hayden was impressive with her strikes early on that neutralized Kraven’s size advantage. They go to the floor and Kraven body slams Hayden onto the table at ringside breaking it in half and once again sending officials spilling to the floor. The bell sounds, three bouts, three disqualification finishes. Time: 1:09 Hayden 2, Kraven 3 Rating 1.0

Nicole Matthews v. Athena
The fans are on edge as the action gets underway. Matthews has the slight power advantage and it pays dividends immediately. A lariat spills the competitors to the floor and the fans are almost groaning as they exchange blows on the floor. Back inside, a second lariat looks sick and give Matthews the first three count of the night. Time: 0:28 Athena 5, Matthews 3 Rating Dud

Pure Wrestling Association Elite Woman’s Title Tournament – Semi-FInals

Barbi Hayden v. Nicole Matthews
Hayden is once again very impressive with her power and strikes that have Matthews on the defensive almost immediately. It appears that Hayden has suffered no real ill affect from the table spot earlier in the night as she manages to plant Matthews with a HAYDEN HALO for a near fall. Matthews attempts to slow the pace but just when it seems she had control a back elbow smash stopped her in her tracks. The end up on the floor and a high knee strike knocks Matthews loopy and gives Hayden a count out victory to advance to the finals Time: 2:13 Hayden 3, Matthews 6 Rating (2.0)

Global Green Gangsters (Tomonka Nakagawa & Kellie Skater) v. Pink Ladies (Jessie McKay & Madison Eagles)
The fans were hoping for something special from these two teams but they were severely let down. Nakagawa and McKay start off and a bridging fisherman’s suplex forces McKay to the floor. Nakagawa comes out side but McKay grabs a chair. Nakagawa counters with a kick and then grabs the chair decking McKay. The bell sounds and we have another disqualification finish. The fan fill the ring with trash and are clearly not pleased with tonight’s events. Time 0:39. Nakawaga 3, Skater 3, McKay 3, Eagles 2 Rating dud

Pure Wrestling Association Elite Woman’s Title Tournament – Finals

Thunderkitty v. Barbi Hayden
It is clear that competing in two rounds and being put through a table has taken a toll on Hayden as this one gets underway. Thunderkitty is the fresher of the two competitors having received a bye into the finals. Kitty dominates the action softening up Hayden with multiple Iron Claws before trapping her in a SLEEPER HOLD. Hayden cannot counter and Thunderkitty wins the tournament and the Elite Women’s Title. Time 1:11 Hayden 7, Thunderkitty 5 Rating (1.0)

Homicide v. Mike Bennett w/Maria & Brutal Bob
Bennett is able to get the advantage early on even whipping Homicide into the barricade but Homicide comes back with stomps in the corner and then turns Bennett inside out with a lariat for the three count (Snake Eyes!). Time 0:36 Bennett 3, Homicide 1 Rating dud

C & C Wrestle Factory (Cedric Alexander & Caprice Coleman) v. Young Bucks (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson)
The fans were up for this one from the outset. We get a referee bump early on taking out the official for six moves during which time Alexander & Coleman appear to have the match won with a C & C CONNECTION COMBO on Nick Jackson but there is no referee to make the count. Eventually the official recovers and the Bucks began to pick up the pace with the momentum really turning in their favour after a key pin save from Matt Jackson reversing a pinning predicament. The story in the last half of the bout is the resilience of Alexander as the Bucks throw two MORE BANG FOR YOUR BUCKS, MOONSAULTS and 450 SPLASHES at him. Coleman makes a couple of key pin saves and Alexander finds a way to kick out when the save is not there. Finally, a second 450 SPLASH connects from Nick Jackson for the pin. Time: 5:35 Matt Jackson 3, Nick Jacksoon 6, Cedrick Alexander 11, Caprice Coleman 6 Rating (4.0)

Elite Women’s Title Match: Thunderkitty (ch) v. Barbi Hayden
In this rematch from the title tournament final, Thunderkitty gets another strong start but unlike their previous encounter, Hayden has the stamina to find the means to counter attack. Kitty struggles with the strikes and a pair of swinging neckbreakers do some damage. Another swinging neckbreaker puts Thunderkitty down for the three count. We have a new Elite Women’s Champion. Time: 0:46 Hayden 2, Thunderkitty 5, Rating 1.0

Pure Violence Title: “No Fear” Mike Mondo (c) v. “Zombie Princess” Jimmy Jacobs v. Rhino
This was crazy from start to finish. It appears that Mondo would be crushed early on as Rhino and Jacobs had a working relationship to beat the champion within an inch of his life. The agreement did not last long as Jacobs struck with his RAILROAD SPIKE on Rhino leading to a near fall. After that, all bets were off and the action went all over the ring. Rhino suplexed Jacobs into a ladder in a crazy spot. Later, Mondo and Rhino tore up ringside in a brawl that also included Truth Martini who came out to assist Rhino. Mondo took care of the resident life coach with a big boot. The action continued to go back and forth. Rhino, despite being busted open, dominates the bout as the finish comes tossing both his opponents to the floor. Mondo regains the ring first and is greeted with a GORE! for his trouble. Rhino is the new Pure Violence Champion! Time: 4:30 Jacobs 8, Mondo 5, Rhino 2 Rating 3.5

Jay Lethal v. Tomasso Ciampa
Back at Holiday Hangoever these two put an awesome match and that same quality carried over to tonight’s action much to the pleasure of the fans. Some great back and forth action. Lethal survives an early PROJECT CIAMPA and comes back with his speed. Suplexes come out of nowhere and have Ciampa reeling. Ciampa and Lethal brawl on the floor and push the referee to his limit but there is no disqualification. Hail to the King hits and the fans love it. Lethal nearly ends it with a figure four leglock but it is Ciampa who gets the win when a running knee in the corner gets a near fall before PROJECT CIAMPA ends it. Time: 4:06 Lethal 6, Ciampa 5, Rating 3.5

Tag Team Title Gauntlet Match: Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) v. American Wolves (“American Wolf” Davey Richards & “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards) v. Briscoe Brothers (Mark Briscoe & Jay Briscoe) v. Future Shock (Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly)
The order of entry was drawn at random and the first two teams are the Wolves and Briscoe Brothers. All four competitors see action early on with both sides making some key defensive tags. Richards scores with an Alarm Clock on Jay Briscoe and the Briscoe Brothers later combine for a high-elevation hip toss. The match goes to the floor and Jay Briscoe uses a chair on Davey Richards and is disqualified at 1:34. Wrestling’s Greatest Tag Team is next out and this match up was epic. Both sides left everything in the ring. Benjamin takes two Alarm Clocks and Kicked to death before Richards was cut off for a lengthy stretch as Benjamin and Haas used plenty of double teaming earning great heat in the process. WGTT was not able to finish Richards off and he eventually hot tags Edwards who cleans house and nails Benjamin with the DIE HARD for the three count while Richards cuts off Haas from making the save at 7:33. Future Shock has the advantage of the last entry but they struggle against the Wolves who are fired up after surviving two teams already. Cole struggles to get the tag and even when he does, the momentum does not change as Richards and Edwards press the attack. A chin checker gets a two count on Cole. Cole tries to take a breather but Richards will not allow it nailing a suicide dive. Back inside, Richards hooks the leg to claim the tag team titles. Time: 9:54 Jay Briscoe 3, Mark Briscoe 1, Benjamin 9, Haas 3, Cole 5, O’Reilly 4, Edwards 4, Richards 5 Rating 3.5

Pure Wrestling Title Match: Roderick Strong w/Truth Martini v. El Generico
The fans are solidly behind Generico and chanting loudly. Generico responds with a quick start. Twice Strong fights out of attempted BRAINBUSTAAAHHH!!! but has to take two SPIKE BRAINBUSTERS. Only the distraction of Truth Martini saves Strong from defeat. The distraction also allowed Strong to get back into the match after a missed moonsault. Strong slows the pace and punishes Generico on the mat eventually leading up to a STRONG HOLD. Generico cannot escape and Strong retains in controversial fashion. After the match, Kevin Steen hits the ring and attacks Generico crushing him with a PACKAGE PILEDRIVER in the middle of the ring. Time: 2:52 Strong 5, Generico 6 Rating 3.0

Some cool title changes on this card... Especially with Rhino taking his place at the top of the Pure Violence mountain... Proper place for the Man-Beast and I look forward to seeing him go one-on-one against the Zombie Princess on the next Pure Wrestling broadcast...

Awesome job by the Wolves in the tag team gauntlet, going the distance to emerge with the gold... And the main event rocked... Was pulling for El Generico, but Truth Martini ensured that his man came out on top... The post-match assault by Steen was brutal and I can't wait to see where that leads...

The Booker’s Sheet

Welcome to the first installment of The Booker’s Sheet.

Lets start with a look at what is happening at Pro Wrestling Eclipse who will offer up Winter’s Moon on broadcast 9. Almost immediately after the conclusion of the New Dawn card rumours were coming out of the locker room that three of the roster members had requested releases and would no longer be competing in Pro Wrestling Eclipse. Management confirmed that both Pinky and vOodOo kAos had been granted their releases. In the case of kAos it appears that he was only signed for a one and done appearance in the territory and will return to his training school. The reasons behind Pinky’s release were not a clear but rumour has it Pinky was not satisfied with his creative direction. As for the third name leaving, it has been rumoured that it is a “main event” talent that will be departing the roster and that they have agreed to work one more card. Upon the announcement of Brian Cage defending the Pro-Wrestling Eclipse Title against Willie Mack at Winter’s Moon the speculation focused on Shaun Ricker who battled Cage in a five star match at New Dawn and many thought would be the first challenger for Cage’s title. With Ricker out of the immediate title picture, it would make sense that he would be on the way out. His rumoured destination… Alpha 1 Wrestling. Some have stated that it may be Cage himself who gave his notice and will be dropping the title to Mack on broadcast 09. For their part, Pro-Wrestling Eclipse management were said to be taken back by the departures and were forced to change their booking plans. The tournament for the Tag Team Titles was originally scheduled for Winter’s Moon but the tournament has been pushed back to a later date in light of the reduced roster . . . Ontario Wrestling Network officials were said to be very disappointed with the result of Pure Wrestling Association Elite Women’s Tournament on Broadcast 5 calling it the worse card in the history of Ontario wrestling. Things were said to be better now with Barbi Hayden as champion but rumour has it that OWN officials will be working to ensure that main event talent will challenge for the Elite Title in an effort to salvage the division after a dreadful start. Fans will be watching with interest to see who will be the next challenger for Hayden while the PWA is closely being monitored by the OWN management. Another Elite only event is penciled in for broadcast 22 but is unknown whether or not OWN officials will be proceeding with that event or not. . . The big news coming out of Smash Wrestling is that they will crown the first Smash Champion at their Gold event on Broadcast 19. It is expected that details of the tournament will be announced shortly. Big things are expected out of the double main event at Danger Zone on broadcast 07 that should carry the territory up until the Gold event . . . OWN officials have been very impressed with the pair of bouts between Tomassa Ciampa & Jay Lethal and would like to see the feud pushed higher up the Pure Wrestling Association cards. OWN officials were said to be keeping a close eye on the actions of Kevin Steen and it will be interesting to see, what, if any, pressure is put on PWA management to deal with Wrestling’s Worst Nightmare.

The matches are out of five. To reach a rating over four the match has to be something special. It really has to blow me away. In this case, I would like to have seen something more from C & C to balance the match out more. Having a competitor take a beating while finding a way to keep kicking out does raise the drama but only so much. There has to be a payoff to get to a five star level. There have been threads dedicated to this topic before on the board which were an interesting read.

Thank you for the response... Gonna have to check some of these threads out... Oftentimes, I find rating matches one of the most difficult aspects of writing a show... There are just so many factors to consider and it can't be locked down into a mathematical formula...

OWN 07 – Smash Wrestling Danger Zone, Franklin Horner Community Centre, Toronto, ON

Caleb Konley w/So Cal Val v. Timothy Thatcher
The fans are all over Val and Konley during the introductions so they enjoy Thatcher’s early offensive attack especially when he works the fingers. Konley uses a chair shot to get control and the fans are not pleased. It is all Konley from that point. Thatcher survives an OH! FACE and HOME WRECKER but a Michinoku Driver ends it in the middle of the ring. Time: 1:23 Konely 3, Thatcher 6 Rating 1.5

Gentlemen’s Club (Drew Gulak & Chuck Taylor) v. Heroes Eventually Die (Chris Hero & Tommy End)
The story in this one was the absolute beating that Gulak took while he was cut off from his opponent. Hero & End hit him with everything including Nephilim, Dragon Slayer CYCLONE KILL and DEATHBLOW but Gulak found a way to kick out or make the ropes each time until he could eventually catch a break and get the tag to Chuckie T who looked crisp against End including a super kick that nearly knocked out End’s teeth. Taylor scored with a somersault suicide dive and then covered End for comeback win. Hero did not make any attempt to save his partner and End is not pleased with him after the match. Time: 3:15 Gulak 7, Taylor 5, End 4, Hero 3 Rating 2.0

Mia Yim v. Cheerleader Melissa
The debut of Melissa in OWN was highly anticipated but she was not in the ring for long. Back to back AIR RAID CRASHES ended it quickly. Time: 0:32. Melissa 2, Yim 6 Rating dud
Inner City Machine Guns (Ricochet & Rich Swann) v. Bravado Brothers (Lancelot Bravado & Harlem Bravado)
The pace for this one is off the charts and the Bravado Brothers are hanging on for dear life from the outset. Swann hits the Leap From Swann Pond for a big hear fall on Lancelot Bravado before Harlem Bravado can get into the match. Harlem fares no better and Ricochet rocks ringside with an over the ring post drive and then puts away Harlem Bravado with a shooting star press. Time: 1:11 Ricochet 2, Swann 3, Harlem Bravado 4, Lancelot Bravado 5 Rating 1.0

“The Direwolf” PJ Black v. Zack Sabre Jr.
The fans were on fire at the outset of this one. Black is able to get the early advantage picking a near fall after an STO. Although the action does go back and forth and Sabre Jr. does have some periods of offense, he is wrestling from behind for most of the encounter. Black makes uses of a chair and then does not earn him any respect from ringside. Aside from that one spot, the match is clean and the finish comes out of a missed charge into the corner by Sabre Jr. Black rolls him up for a near fall and then hits a 450 SPLASH for the win. Time: 2:19 Black 2, Sabre Jr. 5 Rating 2.0

Kyle O’ Reilly v. Biff Busick
It was back at Any Given Sunday that Busick picked up a hard fought victory over O’Reilly via count-out and the promoters were quick to ink a rematch. O’Reilly caught Busick early and often in this one including a high kick to the head that had Busick seeing stars. Busick was game however and was able to uses his size to get into the match including Bu Awakening. O’Reilly just had too many weapons tonight and applied a scorpion death lock to get the submission victory. Handshake ends the action to a solid ovation. Time: 1:47. O’Reilly 2, Buisick 6 Rating: 2.0

Johnny Gargano v. Roderick Strong
The fans were ready for a solid contest between these two after the controversial ending to their match at Any Given Sunday. The opening moments of this one are amazing back and forth action before Gargano goes to work and shows why he is considered one of the best. A series of Hurts Donuts take their toll and Strong struggles to find something. He does manage to get in one Death by Roderick but this is Gargano’s match and he takes it via submission with a GARGANO ESCAPE. Time: 2:25 Gargano 2, Strong 4. Rating 2.0

Premiere Athlete Brand (Trent Baretta & Anthony Nese) w/Socal Val v. AR Fox & Uhaa Nation
The double disqualification finish between Baretta and Nation lead to promoters booking our main event tag team bout. What a match. Baretta took an epic beating in the first half of the match and fans were blown away but his ability to find a way to survive. Val was able to lend a hand with timely distraction that saved Barretta after a KRUNCH by Fox. Nese was able to prevent Baretta from being counted out and that started a wild brawl that PAB got the best of. Nese nearly sealed the comeback with a 450 SPLASH on Fox but Fox was able to get clear before impact. Eventually, Baretta had to get back into the action and Nation capitalizes with a ULTRA COMBINATION for the win sending the fans home happy. Time: 4:52. Baretta 8, Nese 4, Fox 5, Nation 4 Rating 4.0

Gulak showed unbelievable resiliency and Taylor cemented a big comeback for Gentlemen's Club... Very surprised that Hero & End could not secure the win... And even more surprised with Hero's lackadaisical attitude while his partner was being pinned...

Another great encounter between Busick and O'Reilly... Looking forward to the best of 3 falls rematch...

Highly impressive main event Fox & Nation came out on top, but I don't think we've seen the last of this budding rivalry...

Excellent offering from SMASH Wrestling... Pro Wrestling Eclipse presents Winter’s Moon looks very promising... Can the Mack give the Machine a run for his money (and the shiny gold belt)? Can't wait!

Terex v. Cedric The Hitman w/Stu Stone
Hitman has the heat and the upper hand including an impressive looking Tri-Pod but he throws it all away when he decided to clock Terex with his briefcase and earn a disqualification. Time 0:25 Hitman 4, Terex 2 Rating dud

Manimal v. James “Main Event” Morgan w/Stu Stone
It appears that a kick to the groin is the great equalizer regardless of how much larger you are then your opponent. It was that move that gave Morgan the advantage and he wasted no time in putting Manimal down for the three count with a deathjump cross body block. The fans are not pleased with the referee. Time: 0:27 Manimal 6, Morgan 3 rating dud

Rockness Monsters (Johnny Yuma & Johnny Goodtime) v. Dynasty (Joey Ryan & Scorpio Sky)

Sky tags in and hits back to back ACE CRUSHERS but thanks to his partner’s pin saves, Yuma avoids defeat. Goodtime saves his partner again after an Argle Bargle. The action goes to the floor where Ryan is able to crack nails Yuma with a chair shot leading to a count out win for the Dynasty. Time: 1:24 Goodtime 3, Yuma 7, Ryan 3, Sky 3 Rating 1.5

Pro Wrestling Eclipse Flame Title Match – Portia Perez v. Veda Scott
Scott shows some courage by surviving the early attack by the champion before getting the best of brawl on the floor. Scott then goes on a run including a deathjump crossbody block for a near fall and a bulldog. Scott plants Perez with Q.E.D. to claim the title in a huge upset. Time: 1:22 Perez 5, Scott 4 Rating 1.0

Mikey O’Shea v. Adam Pearce
This one was hard hitting from the outset. These two used everything against one another in an effort to get the advantage. The action went in and out of the ring. Pearce managed to nail a JUMPING PILEDRIVER mid way into the match but O’Shea was not ready to go down. Pearce became increasing desperate using a chair shot at one point and O’Shea wore the crimson mask. Back in the ring, a Spine Destroyer nearly won it for O’Shea. As the match progressed, the loss of blood slowed O’Shea and Pearce was able to put him away with a flying elbow drop. Time: 3:59. O’Shea 6, Pearce 2 Rating 2.5

Ryan Taylor v. Shaun Ricker w/Percy Pringle III
What a performance by Taylor in this one. At one point he was able to hit back to back to back PERFECT CIRCLES and only the distraction by Pringle kept the match going. Ricker had no answers tonight to Taylor’s offense. ROUNDHOUSE KICK AND DISCUSS ELBOW COMBO hits. Suddenly James Morgan hits the ring but Taylor takes him out with a pendulum elbow and then covers Ricker for the three count. Time: 2:20 Taylor 3, Ricker 7 Rating 1.5

Los Banditos v. The Tribe w/Olivia
The fans are solidly behind The Tribe and they respond with giving Escondido an epic beating including RESERVATION DEVASTATION. Dynamite cannot make the save but Escondido kicks out. Dynamite does however get into the action after Escondido catches Lion on the top and tosses him to the mat. Dynamite immediately applies a RICO DEATH CLUTCH but Lion escapes. Bath House Bombs shake the ring and a double mafia kick downs Lion and sets up a second RICO DEATH CLUTCH. Lion cannot escape and Los Banditos have a huge comeback win. Time 2:35 Dynamite 3, Escondido 7, Lion 5, Warrior 2 Rating 2.0

Pro Wrestling Eclipse Title Match – Brian Cage v. Willie Mack
The fans are psyched for the action and both men put their power moves on display. Mack uses his agility advantage to get the upper hand including a standing dropkick. Mack is on fire and hit everything leading to a MDX setting up a CHOCOLATE THUNDER BOMB. Cage kicks out at the last second and the fans cannot believe it. Mack nails another MDX and then finishes it with a second CHOCOLATE THUNDER BOMB to claim the title. Time 4:19 Mack 2, Cage 8 Rating 2.0
