Not starting a panic, just wondering if I should more money into buying sets I already own in the gwf and legends and the ace, pow. If this ever goes offline, will there be any compensation for the sets we purchase, like maybe pdfs. Thats one reason I am still hoping for a stand alone game where you don't need the internet to play. Sometimes my internet is hit and miss out here from time to time, Dustin from Latexo can probably for that, and i can't get on as much as I like. I will say I use it generally during school term as I am a teacher and don't have time to really give much time to it. With a stand alone game we can still purchase and then update the new wrestlers we buy. There used to be one that you could enter your wrestlers in that was not internet based but haven't been able to find it for awhile. Just a concern or two of mine.

With the way the excitement and updates has waned in the last few years, it's a concern shared. I'm worried about my entire history being lost.

Its a slight concern of mine and one of the reasons I initially got the physical cards. You don't want to lose your cards and not being able to play.. at the same time, I figure the online version would stay as another way to make money and its a quicker way to play, less hassle so it might draw people in nervous about cards and dice.
Why would FG get rid of it unless the server cost or whatever became too much..
I do wonder why older COTG sets aren't online.. its easy money to make when you're not releasing a game edition that month.

It's a lot of work, there is cost (for coloring the wrestlers) and Kris has a lot going on. I don't think it will ever disappear though.

Totally with TTX on this one... I think there is a lot more work involved than meets the eye... A past COTG release usually involves at least 2 card sets (sometimes more)... And let's not forget that we did just get CPC 2107-2108 last year... So, it really hasn't been that long... Online is the only way I play and I have no worries of it disappearing... I think I would have more concerns over losing the Canadian postal service...

I don't think online is going anywhere as they do a really good job of getting the new releases out in a very timely manner. My bigger concern is the overall state of the program itself. If I've had issues that affect only me i.e. something I've done..stupid....like delete my whole fed , Kris and Todd have always helped me and the issue has always been resolved. The actual program can be cumbersome at times, and a bit user-unfriendly. I've figured out all the quirks, I think, and know how to move around them. It also seems a bit dated in the way it is set-up. It still works fine, so I'm not complaining. I think it could be more efficient, however. The thing that really sort of bugs me is that no one from FG ever talks about it except Guardians "XYZ new set in online" post. Which I love seeing by the way. Customers post questions, like Texas kid's, and there's never a response. If I were a potential customer, I would have to think twice about getting involved if online was the way I wanted to go. If they keep releasing new sets and the occassional GWF update set, I'm not going anywhere. It suits my needs just fine.

I play online now (just a preference), but I do like physical cards. I've been under the impression that legends was going colorized, so I've colorized all of the previous legends stuff (about 90% of it truthfully). I've printed the colorized ones out for safekeeping. Tom has re tweeted many out that I sent out on Twitter, so if you want to take a look, my Twiitter is @memphishistory (And if Tom, Kris, etc go colorized for online, feel free to use the ones I've done to use. I just enjoy doing it in my spare time)

I'm sure that we'll be seeing some COTG online sets in the future. With all those Indy sets, it's kinda hard to do every one of them. All that's left is; The End, Takeover, Sudden Death, Revelations, Centra Uprising, and Entropy. Great sets in their own right. I know that they will pop up at some point, so it will be a bonus when they finally do.

I agree it will be around for awhile, but at the same time there should be a contengency plan. I also think that we should have a program, not internet dependent to be able to play on. One that is better than the unmentionable free game that came out a few years ago. I would like to be able to have one that I can play even when not in internet range.

I'm not sure how you could play the online game offline... It would have to be a application of course but you'd have to have a sign in process connected to your online account so you got your whole roster...
Frankly I think it would be too much $$$$ involved to actually do that...
