A FEW WEBSITES HAVE REPORTED THIS
We have some sad news to pass along. Chris Candido’s brother Jonny has sent word that Balls Mahoney (Jonathan Rechner) has passed away. Candido noted to us that he heard the news directly from Mahoney’s wife.
We don’t have any more details at the moment but we will post an update here when we hear more. Mahoney turned 44 years old on Monday

Was hoping it was bad info, as the report I read seemed shaky at best. Jesus Christ, 44 makes him a year younger than me...have a great photo of my younger son and myself with Balls and Jake the Snake from an Indy show. Tragic, just tragic...

I was thinking the same thing. He was younger than me as well and I would not have guessed it. Hard living added the years. RIP |

Very sad to hear, 44 is way too young. RIP. I somehow missed the posting for Blackjack Mulligan earlier this week so RIP to him as well.

That's incredibly sad. I just turned 46, so...very sobering. Much love to his friends and family.

FROM LORDS OF PAIN
As noted, ECW Original Balls Mahoney (Jonathan Rechner) passed away at the age of 44 earlier today.
Balls took a rough fall a few days ago and badly hurt his hip, according to PWInsider. After the fall, he had been using a walker to get around but became ill and passed away today.
No other details are known at this time but we will keep you updated on any information that becomes available. Our condolences go out to Rechner's friends and family
