Mania WrestlingManic Mondays Special from the new West-Coast Sportatorium in Hollywood, CAThe Sportatorium is a new facility which is a remodeled studio building. It features spacious dressing rooms, ample parking and excellent sightlines. Capacity can comfortably seat 4,000 fans all with great sightlines to the ring and broadcast/interview area. The first event is a 16-man elimination tournament for the first ever Mania Champion. The top seed is "International Champion" Jet Set Strutter, who recently made an appearance during Pro Wrestling America's SuperBrawl. With the Mania Championship on the line, there is not much needed for added incentive but the champion will also receive a spot in Pro Wrestling America's Grand Prix Round-Robin! Check here for more details in Pro Wrestling America (shameless plug)... Pro Wrestling America newsPreliminary RoundAce Arcadium def. Tennis Pro with the CHEAT CODE. Ace was on his game and the Pro's only highlight was venting his temper to fans, ref and foe alike! Skullgore def. Warhawk, DQ. Skullgore used questionable tactics to bloody the tough as nails Warhawk. Skullgore won by DQ, when Warhawk retaliated military style but was clearly outside the rulebook. Mighty Leo def. Pirhanha, DQ. Leo was all over the vicious masked man and used several roaring elbows to keep Piranha off his pivot. The savage Piranha took a hike and kicked the referee when asked to return to the ring. Southern California favorite Rad Racer upset "International Champion" Jet Set Strutter -DQ. The #1 seed was bounced from the tourney when Racer fought back from being thrown from the ring and fought fire with fire. The brawl escalated and Strutter lost his cool, using his title belt on the neck of the hometown favorite. Racer felt the effects of this attack as he slowly walked back to the locker rooms. Johnny Kobra (with Valley Girl) def. LaZer, DQ. Lazer controlled the entire match but a huge lapse in concentration caused a DQ. Seems like the California cool of LaZer was lost during an argument wth Valley Girl at ringside. Normally this is not much of a problem, but it occurred while he was perched on the top turnbuckle and lost track of the referee's count. Kobra has had good luck in tournaments as he had a strong showing in the recent Pro Wrestling America's Light Heavyweight Tournament. Starboy def. Cobalt Commander. Starboy dominated and used two FLYING CROSS CHOPS to advance to the Quarterfinals. Hammerhead def. Arizona Chance, DQ. Hammerhead was the benefactor of the 5th DQ finish of round one as a bloodied Chance used his bullwhip from a relentless onslaught from the huge Russian. Dark Invader def. Bug Buster with the CORRUPTOR. The shadowy one, concludes the prelim round with an easy victory.

Quarterfinals Ace Arcadium def. Skullgore. Ace started strong and fast and used three GAME OVERS to punch his ticket to the Semifinals. A doubles roll led to some action after the bell as the Cobalt Commander joined Skullgore to do a number on Ace. Mighty Leo broke up the attack as he was near ringside for his quarterfinal match but much damage was done to the arcade ace.
Mighty Leo def. Rad Racer. A still-groggy Racer put up a valiant effort of this battle of fan favorite but Leo used a big paw and a THUNDERSTRIKE to move on in the tournament. Leo raised the arm of Racer and walked out of the ring together.
Starboy def. Kobra (with Valley Girl). The Valley Girl was an asset in round one but was a liability in the quarterfinals. She was continually arguing with the spectators. She taunted some of the local fans as she claimed many of them were "lame-o losers". Kobra tried to pile on with his squeeze but turned around with a picture-perfect Missile Dropkick. This move finished the night for the Karate Champ.
Hammerhead def. Dark Invader. The Big Russian looked very impressive and used several hammering blows to keep Invader off-pace. Hammerhead used a SICKLE to advance.
Semifinals Mighty Leo def. Ace Arcadium. Ace showed tremendous heart as he kicked out of several pinfall attempts included two straight THUNDERSTRIKES. Third time was the charm for Leo as he moves into the finals. After the match, Leo took the mike and offered to tag with Ace against those two slime Skullgore and Cobalt Commander. Ace shook his hand and walked to the back together.
Starboy def. Hammerhead. A huge upset in the semifinals as the big Russian looked lost when scaling the top rope. The hesitation was all Starboy needed as he rolled up Hammerhead after he missed a death jump. What an upset!
Mania Championship Finals Starboy def. Mighty Leo to win the Mania Championshop and also entry to the Pro Wrestling America Grand Prix round-robin! Back and forth, back and forth the action went with each man giving their best to beat the other. Starboy's signature FLYING CROSS CHOP sealed the deal and concluded the tournament.
NOTES: Starboy is a winner...Leo had a great effort along with Ace Arcadium as these fan favorites really had the crowd going... Leo and Ace have already vowed to team against Skullgore and Cobalt Commander in what shapes up as a great tag-team match...Hammerhead is a force and his boxing background clearly caused some problems for his opponents. His boxing tendencies also COST him a spot in the finals as he did not have a clue when trying to climb the top rope. Perhaps a little more seasoning may develop him into an irresistable force. He seems to have a country and its technology behind him but some skeptics say there is also some "chemical" support as well...
A disappointing night for the Strutter as he laid claim as the International Champion and had a swift first-round exit. He is still the champion as he states that his title can only change hands on pinfall or submission, so the DQ decision means nothing to his title claim. Some reports are very cynical of the Strutter's dubious title claim as he seems to have just "shown up with a title". An unverified report noted he won the title in a tournament during Carnival in Rio where he topped 7 other international competitors . Either way on how he obtained his title, fans are anxious to see his gold up for grabs.
