CARD 1133 – LAVA PITS OF PRIMUS:
DQ riddled card but there were some huge victories for the underdogs as both Sir Ender and the Soulwatcher win rare matches. They were a bit lucky in both cases but the record books will always show they won.
Centra champ, Code Enforcer Manslaughter, blows Wraith out the water. Both will miss the upcoming OTB thanks to Detective Quidun. At least they are contesting a title match unlike some of the others. Manslaughter is the more frustrated as he desperately wanted the chance to match Wolf’s record of 3 wins in the cage bracket by retaining the trophy he has won the last 2 years. Wraith on the other hand is probably not too fussed. It was touch and go on whether he’d make the cut anyway. Although he has surged up the rankings on the back of beating Corporal Aegis last week. Now giving him the chance to challenge for this belt. Wraith has not held much gold in his career but has had one run with this belt (in its Interplanetary form). There was another time but he tries to forget that as it’s one of the shortest on record lasting just 2 cards before ironically Manslaughter beat him. It was in the days before his Code Enforcer gimmick. Anyway enough backstory. The bout commences and it very quickly becomes clear it’s going to be a tough night for Wraith. He cannot cope with the firepower of Manslaughter. It’s almost as if he’s making Wraith pay for missing OTB. I don’t think Wraith managed one offensive move. By the time he has been beaten with CODE CROWBAR Wraith had already survived many close calls. One being a being a near count-out after Manslaughter had thrown Wraith into Sentry (who was very static during the match). Manslaughter is looking very strong and could easily join some of the others building respectable belt reigns. He’s moved past double figures as the holder now.
Tortured Soul wins against Blade in a gripping Lava Pit match. With the unease between Archon and Lorelei simmering in the background it’s almost a relief for Blade to come to Primus and face Tortured Soul in a Lava Pit match. It turns into a terrific match up. Neither could stay ontop for very long as they were being showered with rocks hurled by the primitives. Blade was agonisingly close to getting out after BLADE OF RETRIBUTION only to slip at the peak. After that he had to endure the disgusting taste of ROTTING CLAW many times. Eventually Tortured Soul buried his head in hot ashes via a piledriver and made for a slow laborious escape. Despite being pelted with rocks it got out successfully. Just to give a flavour for how good this had been is that Blade had 8 fatigue and Tortured Soul had 4 fatigue at the time of the final roll. I know the match has a lot of add 1 situations to inflate the token count but there is no disputing it was a cracker.
Skinhead over Grunge by DQ. Massive cheer for the returning Skinhead from the small crowd. Johnny Rocket was worried he wouldn’t show and he’d be a sitting duck for another beating by Grunge. When Skinhead walks through the curtain Johnny rushes over with a hug and says “boy, am I glad to see you”. Becomes a messy match. Not helped by Thantos also being present. He’s not always been accompanying Disorder X members but Grunge’s recent antics with Nora Pelf had caused him great amusement. So he’s shown much more interest in them. The recent win over Titan Attack also helped. To be honest Grunge could and should have been disqualified many times over. The worst moment was when Thantos pounced on Skinhead with his deadly MASTERLOCK as Grunge, Johnny Rocket and the ref had a heated discussion. Big advantage for Grunge only for him to show no stealth in what he did next. Striking out at Skinhead with GUITAR SHOT right under the ref’s nose and getting a disqualification when match was there for the taking.
The Soulwatcher beats Draconian Sheik by DQ. This time the Soulwatcher has got some help. Lord Nexus saw how he got savaged last time against Drac and offered to try and watch his back. Especially important given the Terrorists were out in full force. The Soulwatcher doesn’t say an awful lot but made his gratitude public with his first ever Centra Spacebook posting “Lord Nexus is a great man with great morals. I am proud to have him advising me but it will be a one off. I am a private man and do not seek to form alliances“. The one off alliance paid off though as the Soulwatcher safely navigates and comes out with a DQ win. It’s not one that anyone will watch back in a hurry. Drac just kept throwing the Soulwatcher out of the ring and eventually when the ref tried to warn him he got attacked. Lord Nexus quickly rushed the ring and floored Drac with a dropkick to save the ref. Before it could get out of hand security showed up and surrounded Drac and the Terrorists preventing further disturbance.
Sir Ender shocks Vengeance with a DQ victory. Another meeting with a Gladiator as Sir Ender becomes the sparring partner of choice for them. How many beatings will it take for this to change from being a great honour for him to the stuff of nightmares? Next month he’s due to face Malice and Spike. Then it’s Mayhem in the month after that! Incredibly Sir Ender came out with the win here. Vengeance was using him to practise his flying elbow drops. All going to plan until he went to finish it off with HELTER SKELTER. Remarkably Sir Ender produced a kickout or at least some kind of bodily convulsion to escape being pinned. After that anytime he could Sir Ender would scramble out of the ring to get away from the constant punishment. Vengeance got irritated to the point that he ended up sticking Sir Ender into some ringside tables. Foolish move though as the trigger happy referee disqualified him. Okay it’s not a pin loss but pretty humiliating for Vengeance in what was already a bad month. Cannot be certain but that might just be Sir Ender’s first ever victory. Am sure the other Gladiators will now be queuing up to punish him for making them look bad.
Cygnus Strikeforce overcome 3rd Planet. US. Traitor has a skip in his step from the recent branding of Commando Sam “now to brand more earth scum”. They get the perfect opportunity as they survive Mike Fortune’s strong opening to beat him. Mike took quite a bit and didn’t get much help from Tough Guy. CYGNUS STRIKEFORCE twice and also ANNIHILATOR EDGE all came his way with the former leading to him getting pinned. They then set about trying to get Mike branded. However Tough Guy finally wakes up and helps him to evade it. Despite the branding failure Cygnus Strikeforce is suddenly hot. Too late to of made the cut for OTB but maybe another win or two could position them for a title shot soon.

ONLY THE BEST UPDATE
Taking place over the next 3 cards. No further news on extra wrestlers being detained for questioning so it’s just the ones previously mentioned missing out. Here’s the draw.
CAGE BRACKET … Genocide-Grovel; Wolf-Mayhem; Code Enforcer Euritar-Bloodline; Skinhead-Draconian Sheik
TAG TEAM BRACKET … SWAT Team-Rebel Empire; Twin Blood-Malice and Overkill; Titan Attack-Ninja Assassins; Desolation Factor-The Clones
SINGLES BRACKET … Pegasus-Dark Justice; Paragon-Mandrill; Rising Sun-Terminus; Corporal Aegis-Thunder
There has just been a women’s tournament taken place but it was on a dark show and there wasn’t even a trophy for the winner. When asked about it Commissioner Morpheus “there are no plans to stage a women’s OTB as there aren’t enough female wrestlers to make it competitive. The tournament that took place was just the work of the promoter and no prizes were given”. For the record all matches were Titan Death and Anaxis won it. Here’s the results:
First Round: Supernova eliminated Hunger. Dazzling display ends on SPEED OF LIGHT; Sniper easily saw off Amazonia. TARGET PRACTICE a few times then a Hitwomen’s Clothesline to finish; Thrash battered Ms. Liberty. One way traffic with a brainbuster bludgeon leading to the pin; Anaxis overcame Nora Pelf. CALL OF THE SIREN in what was yet another one-sided match … Second Round: Sniper owned Supernova. Repeatedly hit TARGET PRACTICE. Five times in all; Anaxis progressed past Thrash. Easily closest match yet. Anaxis recovers from FEMME FATAL to win with CALL OF THE SIREN … Final: Anaxis wins the tournament in style over Sniper. She was in fine form to beat the seemingly unbeatable Sniper. She uses CALL OF THE SIREN again to get it done … Extra match, Serpentine over Maxine Babe by DQ. Neither were included in the tournament but faced each other in an extra match due to my OCD on having an even number of total matches on shows. Maxine was inhibited trying to use DUDE’S CHOICE due to nobody at ringside. She then decided to try and use her breasts to bribe the ref and copped a DQ for her inappropriate behaviour.

CARD 1134 – ONLY THE BEST (Hardcore) – CENTRA PALLADIUM:
(2109 winner - Code Enforcer Manslaughter)
Added Attraction:
Tag champs, Twin Blood, cling onto the belts by beating Malice and Overkill. The Gladiators may of lost a huge match to Desolation Factor at GALACTICON but that was sandwiched by dominant wins over the Code Enforcers and the Clones. So they are ominously clicking into gear. Twin Blood needed to move fast with frequent tags to keep them at bay. Sounds simple enough but with Brute at ringside and also intimidating Johnny Rocket it would not be easy to come out of this still wearing the gold they’ve now held for 31 cards. Becomes a very exciting match that could easily of gone either way. These were two teams right at the top of their game. Twin Blood ontop at the start but the Gladiators growing in stature as the minutes pass by. Sleeze is very fortunate to survive UNSTOPPABLE FORCE twice. First time under his own steam and the second one thanks to a pin save giving him extra recovery time so when the cover came he could kick out. Twin Blood seem to have this knack of pulling it out the bag even when they look under pressure and this was the same. Dreggs then gets some great momentum against Overkill. When he goes for DREGGS OF DEFEAT Malice tried to rumble it. The ref threatens a DQ and as Malice is backed to his corner Twin Blood links up to hit a double leg drop. Brute didn’t even see it happen as Johnny Rocket has his attention diverted. The ref turns to resume his pin count and Overkill, having taken extra damage, doesn’t respond. Twin Blood’s impressive reign continues. However a chance for swift revenge for the Gladiators awaits as the two teams have been drawn to face each other in the opening round of the OTB tag tournament.
Round 1:
Genocide trampled over Grovel. What a mismatch. Grovel stood no chance against Genocide. It’s fared pretty well in the GWFC but take it out of a lava pit and it’s not nearly so dangerous. The lack of a learned finisher also being a real handicap. Not that it got anywhere near to trying some of its more potent add 1 moves. Genocide launched straight into things and pulverised Grovel. Just 5 moves later he was escaping after showing tremendous power to pick Grovel up and throw it into the cage sides as if it was nothing. He had actually been foiled twice before this happened as Grovel made instinctive moves to stay in the match. It was a squash as it was but could have been over even quicker!
Wolf crushed Mayhem. The big news is Wolf is on a collision course with Genocide. Maybe the people of Centra don’t fully appreciate the background between Wolf and Mayhem which is why this meeting hasn’t got loads of attention. All looking beyond it. To be honest a match between Genocide and Mayhem would be really interesting. Not sure that’s ever happened before. Anyway this deserves its moment in the spotlight and it didn’t disappoint. Neither would have thoughts of preservation for more potential matches ahead. They always throw their bodies on the line. Like so many times Wolf doesn’t choose the easy way into the cage. Climbing up from the outside. Mayhem was already in there waiting. From near the top Wolf tried to jump straight on him with a claw hold. Mayhem wasn’t fully prepared for it and tumbled over. Mayhem got up and wildly tried to neuter Wolf with a kick to the groin. The crowd gasped as Wolf sidestepped and then went for his SAVAGE FACE CLAW properly. He was looking for a fast win. Maybe he needed to of kept it locked in a tad longer as when he then tried to escape Mayhem was able to pull him down. If Wolf had chosen the door he would surely of won. No problem for Wolf though. He dished a couple more moves and went for his famed finisher again. This time he kept really grinding it in until blood was dripping from his claws. Mayhem could not prise him off and had more or less passed out through the pain. Wolf now had all the time in the world to escape the cage. He could have stopped at the top, had a cup of tea and still had plenty spare to get out. It was a real statement from Wolf to win against his longtime rival so easily.
Code Enforcer Euritar eliminated Bloodline. Well there’s a Code Enforcer in the bracket but not the one Commando Sam hoped as Manslaughter is a victim of Detective Quidun’s questioning and being detained. Euritar might not be been seen as suited to cage matches but his quickness would be an asset. Trouble is Bloodline is no slouch either. If it becomes a race for the door Euritar might have some competition. Bloodline’s tactic was very obvious. He was wanting to apply his CETUS MASTERLOCK as much as possible to affect Euritar’s mobility. Succeeds three times during the course of the match. Doesn’t have the intended outcome though as Euritar takes everything Bloodline throws at him and then embarks of a frantic offensive wave. Bloodline cannot deal with the speedy moves. It took two of them but Euritar’s HEADS WILL ROLL then sealed an impressive victory to progress. Only worry is Euritar did take some damage which might be a problem in the next round.
Skinhead dominated Draconian Sheik. Skinhead sneaked into the bracket despite his recent stay in rehab. Tough draw to face Drac. However in a bizarre way Drac isn’t as effective in special matches where the Terrorists cannot be at ringside. No telling what he might of smuggled in under that headdress though. Officials are supposed to search wrestlers and confiscate contraband items. Except nobody is brave enough to do it to Drac. One unfortunate guy nearly had his fingers bitten off once. If Drac did have something he never got a chance to use it as Skinhead looked fitter than he ever has. Total domination from him. Took a while to get it won as Drac showed resilience (helped by a low cage rating). Skinhead slugged him three times with BRASS NUCKS in all. Third times a charm as it allowed Skinhead to exit the cage. Significantly the win means the final 4 is entirely made up of hero wrestlers.
Round 2:
Wolf delivers the mother of all performances to defeat Genocide. Nobody expected them to face off so soon, if at all. Their last meeting was viewed very much as one of those one off dream matches. Genocide pretty much crushed Wolf and took the Heavyweight belt in the process. This time it wasn’t so easy. Wolf loves cage matches and this tournament more than anything. He was a different animal. Took his usual unique approach to enterting the cage by climbing in. Genocide was already shaking the sides to try and get him in quicker. Was looking as if Wolf would take a similar pasting to last time as he was tossed all over the cage. For many minutes he was on the receiving end of power bombs, turnbuckle smashes and cage wall collisions. Then suddenly things turned. Genocide lined him against one of the turnbuckles and charged like a freight train. Wolf managed to move and Genocide met with the cage at breakneck speed. Wolf ignored the pain of all the earlier punishment to start his offensive wave. Gave it everything he had. Some of the crowd were chanting for the SAVAGE FACE CLAW now. Wolf obliged and went for it. First time he tried it was only locked on for a couple of seconds before Genocide powerfully pulled his claws off. Took some skin with it. Wolf was not about to give up though. He knew this was a big chance and had to strike quickly. So again he latched on. Genocide struggled against it again but Wolf would not release this time. With the claw still in place Wolf pulled Genocide against his will over to the nearest cage wall and then released so his head could be buried against it. Genocide was down on his knees seeing stars after that. Wolf then went for the escape. He was just about to throw a leg over the top when Genocide reached up to stop him. Just what would it take to beat him? Wolf kicks him in the face and jumps back into the cage. Genocide’s reward for such endurance was yet another stint in the claw. Mere mortals would be in danger of having their skulls crushed by all this. Impressively he has it in him to struggle against it again but not for long. Sinks to his knees gradually and with blood visible Wolf slowly lays Genocide down on the canvas. Now time to escape again and Genocide is not stirring. Wolf reaches the top and once he is over the side pauses to give Genocide a respectful nod before continuing his descent. Massive win. Is Wolf’s name on the trophy this year? It’s been such a long time since he last prevailed in this bracket.
Skinhead takes care of Code Enforcer Euritar. It would be hugely impressive if Euritar can match Manslaughter’s success in this tournament. He’s just one match away from the final. Unfortunately his earlier stints in Bloodline’s CETUS MASTERLOCK had taken a toll on him. The adrenaline during the match had masked the pain. However the break between now and then had allowed the discomfort to set in. Naturally Skinhead went after the injuries like any smart wrestler would. Skinhead was also getting the fans backing. May both be heroes but Skinhead has a greater connection with them. Turns out be one of the easier matches he’s had in his career. Euritar’s mobility was badly affected and Skinhead could dictate virtually the entire match. When he struck out with the sneaky BRASS NUCKS it looked as if that would finish things. To his credit Euritar made Skinhead work a little harder than that and prevented the escape. Just a few minutes later thought he was done for after being rammed into the cage. That added to the other problems was just too much to take. Skinhead now progresses to the final against Wolf. It’s a surprise to see him in it. Especially considering some of his recent addiction problems.
Final:
Wolf defeated Skinhead to win the tournament. What a final. Both guys have made surprisingly easy work of it and neither carried any fatigue tokens. So about as fresh as they could expect to me. Once again the fans are split. Wolf would usually expect to hear the majority of cheers but Skinhead is a big deal on Centra. He’s been taken into many hearts. Maybe the importance of it has dawned on Wolf. For once he chooses the conventional cage entry and goes via the door. Although Skinhead shows that heelish traits never truly leave you by attacking Wolf as he tried to go through it. That advantage was very brief. Wolf got into the groove very quickly. He was in untouchable form tonight. Unless Skinhead could do something very special this was going to be as far as he could go. Wolf hit move after move to keep Skinhead off balance. The only time Skinhead got some more offence he dropped the ball very quickly by running at Wolf and missing. More often than not in a cage that ends in a collision with the wall and this was no different. Not long after that Wolf flexed his right hand and as Skinhead staggered towards him planted on SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Wolf was grinding away with the same intensity as he did in previous rounds and Skinhead lacked the power to break free. He slumped very quickly. Wolf finally released and made an untroubled escape. Stopping at the top of the cage to howl excitedly. This was his fourth triumph in the cage tournament. However it’s been 12 years since the last win. Life on Centra was tough at the beginning for Wolf. Things have really turned around for him now with all the recent success.

CARD 1135 – ONLY THE BEST (Tag) – CENTRA PALLADIUM:
(2109 winners - Alpha Power)
Added Attraction:
Heavyweight champ, Genocide, defeated Mandrill by DQ. It seemed inevitable that they would meet in a match for the biggest prize in wrestling. Mandrill has been creeping towards the top contender spot for a while now and just as he gets there Genocide demolishes Wolf to become champion. Mandrill’s poor record against Genocide comes under the microscope. Maybe he would end that hoodoo tonight. That would be bad news for Centra if he does. Deep down Mandrill would be hoping it’s Buck Steele who shows rather than Genocide but that seems to happen once in a blue moon these days. Unsurprisingly Genocide storms down the runway and he gets the mother of all receptions. I’m not sure he’s even worn his belt once. Always seems to be either swinging it above his head or carrying it over a shoulder. He enters the ring still swinging it and almost takes out Mandrill with one swipe. Mandrill had been trying to ignore him to speak with Sentry. He ends his conversation abruptly and says “ok you have my full attention now you freak, enjoy swinging that thing about whilst you still can. Minutes from now I will be champion again and you will all be my slaves”. Naturally Genocide tears into Mandrill on hearing this. The normal assortment of powerful attacks. However Mandrill rides them out and shows that he is much more capable of competing this time around. In fact he does more than that as comes close to delivering on his bold claims by actually winning. He managed to stun Genocide long enough to execute COLONIZER CLAW SLAM. Genocide makes a late kick out but when he did it did throw Mandrill up several feet in the air. The near miss succeeded in riling Genocide. Mandrill did not muster a great deal more and it seemed a matter of time. Finally Genocide mounted the turnbuckle in readiness for CORPUS GENOCIDE. Sentry was right behind him and could easily of given him a nudge but fails to act. So Genocide is able to slam right into Mandrill. Sentry now wakes up and tried to blast Genocide with his stun gun. Really was a case of trying to shut the stable door after the horse has bolted and he missed anyway. Sentry now panicked and decided to enter the ring and smashes the bottom of the gun right down on Genocide’s head. Of course that’s an instant DQ. No way that Genocide didn’t feel it but he wasn’t about to give Sentry the satisfaction of looking hurt. He no sells the blow and shoves him two handed across the ring. Sentry hurtles straight into the opposite turnbuckle. The impact was hard enough to crack his suit and let some of the toxic fumes out. The crowd is so excited that the smell doesn’t bother them too much. As soon as Mandrill and Sentry are cleared from the ring high powered fans kick in and a normal fragrance returns.
Round 1:
Rebel Empire too good for the SWAT Team. Massive pop for SWAT Team who have gate crashed the tag bracket with a late run of wins. What a draw to be facing their feud enemies Rebel Empire. Given their past meetings though Rebel Empire are arrogantly assuming this will be a walkover. Wrongly we hoped. Unfortunately the SWAT Team didn’t really come close to causing an upset. Rebel Empire showed a gulf still exists between the two teams. They needed a few minutes to take care of Trench via EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT.
Twin Blood easily eliminated Malice and Overkill. Two meetings in as many cards. Things didn’t go so well in the last match for the Gladiators. They thought they were going to win the tag titles for the first time together only to drop the ball. That failure has added pressure on to win this event. Unfortunately there is no change in fortunes. In fact it’s even worse this time around. Malice never made it in the ring as Twin Blood successfully double teamed Overkill to get him pinned. Actually I tell a lie Malice did make it into the ring as he tried to rescue Overkill who was struggling in a scorpion death lock applied by Dreggs. Even though these are Titan Death matches referees are present to try and maintain some order or else it’d be a free for all. He blocks Malice off momentarily. Meanwhile in the background Twin Blood double teams Overkill again with a double drop kick followed by synchronised elbow drops. It ensures Overkill was stunned long enough to get him pinned. Malice and Overkill hang their heads in shame. Even though Aethra knows nothing of how the team is faring on Centra currently if they ever return to the known dimension all their failures will be discovered and as we know the tolerance is very low.
Titan Attack coast against Ninja Assassins. How would Titan Attack adapt to their incredible winning run coming to an end last month? The greatest teams are the ones that bounce back quickly. They are some way from being a legendary team but have the potential to become one. Fantastic match awaited as they faced a team they know very, very well in the form of the Ninja Assassins. We all know how good the Ninjas are although they’ve been very hit and miss on Centra. Tonight was one of those misses. They just didn’t seem ready for the speed of the Titans start and got eliminated in barely a couple of minutes. Scion Nexus did the deed on Daeman after an acrobatic flying shoulder took him down and a snake eyes roll then came up. Dragonmaster on commentary is obviously a fervent supporter of the Titans and struggled to maintain impartiality. He got so excited at this squash and described it comically as “easy peasy lemon squeezy”.
The Clones upset Desolation Factor. Two teams fresh off defeats. Not the best way to prepare for OTB. Desolation Factor had been mowing down all opposition until recently slipping up against Cygnus Strikeforce. That inconsistency has plagued them ever since they arrived in the GWF. They weren’t quite sure what to make of the Clones who were being their usual zany selves. Finally when the Clones got their serious heads on they faced up to Desolation Factor for what appeared to be a staredown. Naturally they were dwarfed. It seemed to go on a while until Mad Jester broke away cheering and laughing “we won, we won, Rack blinked first”. Was kind of funny but not to Desolation Factor who’d had enough. They both rushed at Jester who skilfully evaded them by jumping over the ropes and onto the arena floor. This cat and mouse then played out for a while until Rack finally got hold of one of the Clones. Defender of the Realm was the victim and he suffered greatly. Took RACKED AND RUINED twice among other devastating moves. Somehow he survived (mainly thanks to Jester) and out of nowhere made a reversal to get on L3O and unleash DEFENDER CANNON. It didn’t get him a successful pin. However it did allow Defender to get tagged out. After that Jester carried the team as Defender was in bad shape. Incredibly Jester was able to get a surprise win coping with both Rack and Ruin. He managed to get Ruin tangled in the ropes to unleash A DEAD MAN’S VERSE. Defender woke up to ward Rack off with his spear held in a threatening manner. Meanwhile Jester got a water bottle and squirted Ruin in the face before untangling and pinning him. The Clones have made Desolation Factor pretty angry with their antics tonight. Will Commando Sam allow them revenge as he may see that their priorities lie elsewhere?
Round 2:
Twin Blood make a huge comeback to beat Rebel Empire. Having negotiated their opening round matches quite easily both teams are very fresh. Whoever wins this will be hot favourites to go all the way. Twin Blood have already cemented their status as a legendary team with their achievements in such a short space time. If they pull this off they have a case to be recognised as one of the best teams ever to be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Brute and Massacre, Greek Gods and Superiority Complex. First to get past Rebel Empire though and they do. Only just. Rebel Empire were like things possessed in the beginning. Absolutely laying siege to Sleeze. He endured EMPIRE TRIUMPHANT and SCISSORDRIVER (twice) in the first few minutes. Through a bit of help, luck and endurance he came through it all. Obviously well beat up so desperately needed the hot tag which he got. Although it wasn’t super hot as Dreggs found life tough too when in the ring. However he fought valiantly and did enough to allow Sleeze a long recovery. Eventually Sleeze was able to get back involved and things evened up a lot. Then almost as if someone had flicked a switch Dreggs stepped it up another gear against Nefarus. He started using his singles finishers to weaken Nefarus before seeing that Sleeze was ready to go for something bigger. The tag was made and they linked up for SEEING DOUBLE. Vendetta was unable to save Nefarus as they were all out of pin saves. Twin Blood grabbed a win that seemed so unlikely earlier in the bout.
Titan Attack finally got the better of the Clones. Defender of the Realm didn’t look great heading into this. Still wobbly after taking so much punishment in the previous round. Didn’t stop the silliness though as Mad Jester gives him a piggyback to the ring. Ursa Major was tempted to head them off and deliver a dropkick. Two for the price of one. In the end he waited. Maybe the Clones would burn themselves out with their antics. When things settle down and the wrestling starts it’s, erm, dull as dishwater. Normally matches involving Titans have a nice flow to them. Not this one. It just went on and on and on. A few tokens accumulate but it’s almost as if both teams thought this was no finisher match or something. I suppose all things must end though. Got there in the end as Scion Nexus eventually pinned Mad Jester after THE RISE AND FALL. At least the fans were still excited as they cheered the outcome. Titan Attack is having a great year and whatever happens in the final nothing can take that away. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news though. These two teams are booked to face off again next month. Surely it has to be more entertaining.
Final:
Twin Blood outlasted Titan Attack to win the tournament. Finally these two great teams meet. Commissioner Morpheus may refuse to let them wrestle for the belts but nothing he can do about them clashing in the OTB final! A few fatigue tokens (Sleeze and Scion both have 3) ensures each team has one guy teetering on the edge of becoming a liability. Even though these were all hero wrestlers handshakes were spurned. The prize on offer too important to allow for any friendliness. However it did mean outside brawling was less of a thing with the two Titans choosing to remain in the ring at all times and Twin Blood only doing it occasionally to break any offensive momentum gained against them. As expected Dragonmaster was going pretty nuts on the commentary. He’d lost any impartiality and was even being told to calm down by his co-commentator. It was a much more flowing match overall and both teams had plenty of good moments. As time ticked on though Twin Blood seemed to be getting stronger. They’d had a bit more rest between matches and it began to show. Scion Nexus was struggling the most as he was on the end of several finisher attempts. He withstood as many as he could. Eventually Twin Blood tried for TWICE BITTEN again and it yielded success. Dreggs and Sleeze can do no wrong this year. So much success and they now become only the second team after Superiority Complex to win the OTB tag bracket more than once.

CARD 1136 – ONLY THE BEST (Singles) – CENTRA PALLADIUM:
(2109 winner - Paragon)
Added Attraction:
Ladies champ, Sniper, keeps knocking back the challengers as she beats Anaxis. Sniper has just passed 50 cards as the ladies champion. It’s the second longest reign in history. A magnificent achievement but she is determined to keep it going and hunt down the record still held by Supernova which is 63 cards. Her opponent Anaxis has held titles before and represented a real threat. Especially having just beaten Sniper at a dark show to win the unofficial ladies OTB tournament. However tonight after her initial offence fails to make a mark Anaxis looks bereft of ideas. Sniper soon takes over and manages to get instant revenge by gunning Anaxis down with TARGET PRACTICE. Anaxis was frustrated and tried to attack Sniper in the aftermath only to be levelled again with a swivelling kick. Anaxis falls through the ropes and looks very undignified as she ends up on top of a ringside table legs akimbo.
Round 1:
Pegasus disposed of Dark Justice. No question Pegasus is one of the all time greats but he has never won OTB. It’s just one of those things much like how the Champions team could never win TEAM SUPREME or Brute and Masscre never won the tag bracket. However Pegasus has a big ego and it really bothers him that he hasn’t managed to achieve it. Plus he could be running out of time as surely his prime years will soon be at an end. Fortunately this stab at it starts off pretty well as he comes through this relatively unscathed. Almost had it won in less than a minute via PROJECT PEGASUS. Justice was struggling to stem the tide initially and only just avoided an embarrassing early loss. As the minutes ticked by Justice offered a bit more offence. However never really looked threatening. The climax came when Pegasus suckered him with a sunset flip and booked his passage into the second round.
Mandrill beats Paragon in a titanic tussle. Paragon was triumphant in the last OTB but is not among the favourites this time around after landing such a tough first round and also being on the same side of the draw as Pegasus. He would need to be at his very best to beat Mandrill who was still licking his wounds after failing to wrest the Heavyweight belt from Genocide. Psychological warfare becomes the early theme. Mandrill offers Paragon the chance to lay down and lose the match and adds “if you do I might spare you from becoming my slave when I fully takeover Centra”. Paragon laughs at the suggestion “takeover? Your team couldn’t even beat a team that up until a few months ago had never wrestled before”. Bit risky for Paragon to say that as it kind of insulted the ROC team although I don’t think that was intention. Mandrill never expected Paragon to comply, just wanted to screw around with his mind. His next move was to attempt a low blow. Paragon caught the fist and set about destroying Mandrill. It was relentless in the first few minutes. His move of choice was the Whirlybird Backbreaker which happened over and over again. However fatally he didn’t go for his finisher. Seemed to be holding it back. Perhaps wanted to prolong the punishment or feared Mandrill might survive it if he didn’t do enough build up damage. Paragon hates it when anyone takes the move and goes on in the match. He often brags about his unstoppable finisher and it bruises his ego. It gave Mandrill a fighting chance and the longer things went on the threat started to grow. His notorious Voltaic Stunner signalled a turning point. Paragon begin to come under more prolonged spells of pressure and his low pin rating became less of a factor as tokens were added. Mandrill sensed a chance and wasn’t nearly so shy about using his trademark moves. A second hit with MUTANT MAULER managed to yield him the victory and knock the defending champion out. A colossal tussle between Mandrill and Pegasus now awaits.
Rising Sun breezes past Terminus. Rising Sun had been unhappy with the direction he has been headed. Wrestling some low key matches. However he now recognises what Lord Nexus has been doing. It’s given him a steady trickle of wins and ensured he is now at the top table and competing in this elite tournament. Would now be a good time to face Terminus? Having just lost the Heavyweight belt Terminus could be vulnerable or vengeful. It proved to be the former. Rising just blew him away. Terminus underestimated Rising’s incredible agility. Having a flying mare countered. Rising then executes a moonsault press followed by a SUNSET SPECTACULAR to win the bout with little more than a minute gone. I’d call that a squash.
Corporal Aegis dominated Thunder. Some think both these guys are lucky to be in the main tournament. Aegis because Genocide is more suited to the cage bracket and much like another hardcore icon, Wolf, preferred to be in it. Thunder because of Vengeance being detained by Detective Quidun. Not that it’s wise to suggest he was lucky to his face. The interviewer who said it to him was almost put through a wall. Anyway Aegis was able to rub more salt into the wounds of the rowdy Gladiators who have endured a miserable OTB so far with first round exits in both the cage and tag brackets. He absolutely tore in Thunder and dominated. Almost winning fast with a series of Opening Salvo into CORPORAL PUNISHMENT combos. It only relented because Thunder fell out the ring. As Aegis tried to fetch him back to the ring Thunder used his brawling superiority to turn the tide. Everyone feared for Aegis as Thunder then went to the top rope for a deathjump. The early battering must of affected Thunder though as he missed the mark. An eruption of cheering now as Aegis forced himself to stand and go on the attack unleashing his finisher again. This time it managed to keep Thunder pinned and put the seal on an awful OTB for the Gladiators. The win by Aegis has rescued the event for ROC as up until now they hadn’t done too well either.
Round 2:
Pegasus storms into the final by beating Mandrill. Huge encounter between two of the biggest hitters around. They’ve never directly feuded but have met a few times before and are in a bizarre way insanely jealous of each other. Mandrill wants to be top guy and to have countless successful Heavyweight belt reigns like Pegasus has had. All he’s had is 3 very insignificant ones. Whilst Pegasus hates the fact that, in his eyes, a far inferior wrestler like Mandrill has won this tournament before (wayback in 2101) and he hasn’t. Naturally Mandrill gets jeered throughout. He really rubbed Pegasus up the wrong way from the get go by calling him “past your prime and not fit to lace my wrestling boots”. Pegasus needed little motivation to get stuck into him anyway. He finds Mandrill very difficult to breakdown though. In fact neither could really get the upper hand for a good while. I suppose it’s not unusual for two such juggernauts to cancel each other out. Then Pegasus was handed an opportunity as Mandrill hits the self destruct button and misses with a deathjump. This was the swing in favour that Pegasus needed to move towards victory. He gets a lot of L3O offence going. The crowd were willing him to go for PROJECT PEGASUS. However it’s a Tomahawk Thrust that brings him joy. In no way does Pegasus hit it like Omega once did but he has a pretty good execution and it’s been responsible for several wins in his career. Pegasus affords himself a little smile. Must be thinking that this year might finally be his year. Shame nobody in the known dimension will see it. Mandrill recovers and takes huge offence to the fans cheering his loss. He grabs the mic and signs off by crying out “everyone’s against me just because they fear my becoming the ruler of Centra. Nobody understands that by being my slave it will protect them. I hear stories about Ravagers and other dangerous entities. The Colonizers will conquer and vanquish all threats”. With that he throws the mic onto the floor and stomps off. The only thing that could make this moment worse is if Corporal Aegis now goes onto the win the whole tournament.
Rising Sun dazzles to beat Corporal Aegis. Fair to say Rising Sun has done well ever since going solo. He could do with a dedicated singles card but has generally slipped into singles wrestling like it is an old shoe. There have been secondary belt reigns and now this impressive run to the latter stages of OTB. However for once he has to get used to not having much support because the crowd is popping like mad for Corporal Aegis. It’s hard to eclipse Rising’s popularity unless it’s Aegis of course! The pair sportingly hug and chat before the bell. As soon as it goes though it’s all business. Maybe it was the occasion or just a lack of experience but Aegis does not get anywhere near the heights of his last round performance. In fact he was dangerously close to losing in just 2 moves. That would have been awful it had been a squash and fortunately Aegis avoided that embarrassment. He just couldn’t cope with Rising’s speed and agility though. Any offence he did muster was brief at best. Rising must of gone through his whole repertoire many times over in the match. Ultimately it was his SUNSET SPECTACULAR that got the pin. Rising could barely believe he was in the final of this tournament now. The fans who had mainly been behind Aegis gave him a good reception. Aegis showed his class. Lifting Rising’s arm and acknowledging a very worthy winner.
Final:
Pegasus overcomes Rising Sun to win the tournament. Pegasus has been a model of consistency and calmness throughout. However there must be nerves. He is within touching distance of the trophy that has eluded him for so long. He could never of imagined that someone like Rising Sun would be opposing him in a match of this magnitude. Rising makes a fast start. There is a very early pin attempt and the dice weren’t a million miles away from giving Pegasus a shock. However it all proves a step too far for Rising. After the near miss Pegasus pretty much takes over. Builds up steady offence and then goes for PROJECT PEGASUS. Rising cannot kick out and it’s all over. Bit of an anti-climax for a final. Pegasus jubilantly lifts the trophy. He’s finally laid the ghost to rest. Then he claps Rising for the part he played in this tournament whilst urging the crowd to join his applause. Rising graciously accepts and pats Pegasus on the back. I wonder if Pegasus have done the same had he lost. It’s easy to act all friendly when you’ve just won. Pegasus later posts on Spacebook some pictures of him posing with the trophy with a message for Mandrill who had taunted him earlier “past my prime huh? I’m still the man. It’s only a matter of time before that Heavyweight belt is back around my waist”.

Latest News:
ONLY THE BEST notes … The big winners were Pegasus, Twin Blood and Wolf. Pegasus finally got his hands on the one big accolade he’s been missing and it was great to see Wolf win the cage tournament for a fourth time. It’s been so long since he has triumphed. Of course it was a popular win although deep down the fans had hoped Genocide would do it. Probably most impressive is Twin Blood. There are never easy matches at OTB but they had it particularly tough. It seemed apt that they would face Titan Attack in the final. These two teams have been the stand out performers so far this year and it was good to finally see them face off. Let’s hope Commissioner Morpheus sees sense and books them in a title match soon. Losing to Pegasus in the singles tournament proves not to be the end of the world for Mandrill as he has another big title match to look towards. His run to the second round plus the fact he only lost to Genocide by DQ is deemed enough to keep him in the top contenders spot. Another guy that shouldn’t be too down on himself is Skinhead. Not long out of rehab and made an improbable run to the cage bracket final. In the end Wolf had too much for him. When you think it wasn’t too long ago that Skinhead was staggering out of bars late and as drunk as a lord this has to go down as a phenomenal achievement. ROC didn’t have a great set of tournaments apart from the run of Corporal Aegis in the singles bracket. Aegis says “we have to take the rough with the smooth, recently we have enjoyed success beyond our wildest dreams, it’s just time to keep smiling and look forward to the next matches”. Elsewhere the Gladiators had a poor OTB with first round exits across the board. Malice and Overkill’s recent rise to a tag title shot, which they lost, merely papering over the cracks. Perhaps behind their emotionless and rowdy exteriors Massacre’s death has affected them more than we all thought?
Wolf, fresh off the back of his recent successes, has hinted that he is fed up with the Centaurians-Brymstone feud and is looking to move onto something new. The disharmony between Lorelei and Archon hasn’t helped. Plus he has been in the team a long time by his standards. This will disappoint Amazonia who has grown very close to Lorelei and sees her as a kindred spirit. No point trying to second guess Wolf’s movements. He could end up anywhere.
Krakan has sought out Doomsayer to help with control techniques for Grovel. The Primus native has shown itself to be a useful addition to the Hitmen and Krakan thinks it is a keeper. Unlike when Mutant was under his care Krakan wants to try and keep it under more control and deliver more care. Never thought I’d be using the words Krakan and care in the same sentence. Anyway for a princely sum (and guarantees of Hitmen protection) Doomsayer has devised a series of white noise algorithms. The sounds when played have a soothing effect on Grovel and remove its violent urges. The first test was a success. Grovel was placed into a room with a large stuffed teddy bear and within seconds it had ripped the toy apart and was gorging on its fluffy innards. Then over the speaker an assortment of sounds were played. Not exactly relaxing to the normal ear. However it had the effect of calming Grovel down. So much so that it actually then picked up what was left of the teddy and started gently cradling and licking its head.
Speaking of the Hitmen Tough Guy is knee deep with problems. The rumouring is that he is in the last chance saloon and the other Hitmen are ready to turn on him again. Not just because of his unreliability but for fraternising with Sniper. They were pictured together at a restaurant on what appeared to be a date. In other news, an extension to the three way feud between the Terrorists - Fighting Titans - Hitmen there has been some drama surrounding Mutant. Both the Titans and Hitmen set on daring rescue missions after online pictures appeared of it wallowing in its own filth. Sadly neither team succeeded. Obviously Lord Nexus, being the wonderful human that he is, had genuine concern for its welfare. Krakan on the other hand just wanted to pair it with Grovel as a gross out tag team which (by the sounds of it) might be needed to replace 3rd Planet.
It’s fair to say the GWFC experiment on Centra is a huge success. The people have taken wrestling to their hearts and the shows are the highest rated on TV. The pay per view buys have broken all records. The next ratings smash is a highly anticipated warts and all documentary set to be hosted by Trisis. It will air weekly for the remainder of the year in a series of one hour special. A chance for fans to go behind the scenes and get to know these colourful characters even more. It will be called UNMASKED and is kind of a sequel to a documentary by the same name that played in the known dimension many many years ago.
INJURED – none; SUSPENDED – none
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
SKINHEAD - Normally it’s the OTB winners that get all the plaudits but considering the dark place Skinhead was in a little over a month ago his effort and inner courage has to be applauded.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
TWIN BLOOD - They might as well give them the award to keep they have won it so many times this year. It was yet another outstanding month. OTB glory and not one but TWO wins over the Gladiators!

CARD 1137 – LAVA PITS OF PRIMUS:
Blazing Skull burned Archon in a Lava Pit match. Archon braves this hardcore match. He’s not going to pelt rocks or do anything that goes against his morals. However to beat Blazing Skull in a match like this would be impressive. In his words “Lorelei and I don’t see to eye to eye on some things. Wrestling in this kind of place doesn’t come naturally to me but I aim to show her that matches can be won without resorting to foul play”. Blazing isn’t shy about voicing his intent “Archon will regret signing this match. He will either be burned beyond recognition or thrown to the primitives”. When they finally got into the pit it looked as if Archon would win easily. Such levels of domination as he punished Blazing with all his submission move finishers several times over. He just couldn’t quite get out the pit. Eventually one of the escape attempts left him hurt as he fell back right onto some scorchingly hot ashes. Blazing pounced on Archon’s misfortune and a few moves later unleashed DEATH BY FIRE (+3). This led to his successful escape. Considering the threats issued earlier it was surprising that Blazing performed the tamer version of his deadly move. The threat of suspension might just of been a factor. Plus if he put Archon on the shelf for a prolonged period it deprives him of the chance to beat him again.
Wolf goes over Anarchy by DQ. Time to put this feud back in the spotlight. Even though Wolf is loosening ties with the Centaurians he finds Anarchy a satisfying feud enemy. In a strange way he is glad his recent hold on the Heavyweight belt was short lived. It proved to be a distraction. Also being a champion comes with certain responsibilities which is something Wolf does not want. The action fittingly begins outside the ring as Anarchy attacks Wolf who was in turn attacking Maleph. The winged demon being a menace as always. This spot almost gave Anarchy an immediate victory. He rolled Wolf into the ring and went for CRUCIFIX DROP straight away. The ref was suitably distracted. However we have gotten used to Wolf over the years surviving the unsurvivable. He kicks out and musters a comeback. Alas Maleph was in one of those moods where he was never going to let things flow. The moment Wolf went outside again he swooped at him. Trying to gouge his eyes out. Wolf held him off and better still took the win by DQ. The latest outcome leaves this feud on a cliffhanger. Surely a rematch beckons at the next supercard.
Painmaster defeated Max Shield. These two continue to play supporting roles in the ROC-Colonizer feud. Suffice to say Max is more comfortable with it than Painmaster. No matter their status it’s still a cool feud and both do their best to get the win. Max worked his socks off but gets no change out of Painmaster. It just wasn’t going to be his night. Even his defensive shields were failing him. Painmaster kept the control and came out on top after making Max submit to THE TORTURE RACK. It was a painful defeat for Max to take. After years of underperforming in Dimension K he thought being here on Centra might give him a new lease of life. Sadly it seems to be the same old story.
Lance At-Las sees off the ailing Dreadnaught. Although Commando Sam will say otherwise it’s clear Lance is no longer a valued member of the FDF. Sam only keeps him around due to their long history of working together and friendship. Lance doesn’t mind. He is a free spirit and not wrestling too many matches gives him plenty of chances to explore Centra. However tonight he is back in the ring to face an old comrade and enemy in Dreadnaught. Bizarrely Dreadnaught is glugging on some kind of high energy drink. He consumes every last drop and then does a ridiculous flex as if to say ‘I’m energised and ready’. Maybe it did have a galvanising effect as Dreadnaught was very much in the contest. For a few minutes at least. Its effects, if any, wore off quite quickly though. Lance began to look very comfortable and managed to end it with a nice flying head scissors move. Thankfully Dreadnaught picked himself up. Looked forlorn but at least he lives to fight another day.
Animen Invasion stunner Transformer again. Has proven to be a good undercard tag feud. Perhaps this will be the blow off. Notably Detective Quidun was walking around at ringside. He’s watching Doomsayer and the Animen very closely it seems. Doomsayer takes exception “haven’t you got more important matters to attend to? I heard a kid at Centra High had their lunch money stolen”. Quidun ignores him. Just folds his arms and watches the match unfold whilst leaning on the crowd barrier. He witnesses a massive shock. Well maybe not as this is the second time Animen Invasion have done this to Transformer. They were very fortunate though. Antak should have been finished twice. First time he was locked in Monad’s SURFBOARD SUBMISSION only for Son of Ram to storm the ring and trigger a brawl. Later he was caught in Nth Degree’s PIN USING ROPES. Again Son of Ram entered. This time Monad tried to reach him earlier only for the ref to get in the way. As Monad was ushered back to the corner Son of Ram bombed Nth Degree right on his back and reversed the pin position. A snake eyes roll came next and with that Transformer had slumped to another humiliation.
Spike demolished Sir Ender in just 2 moves. Poor Sir Ender. The Gladiators are really angry after their ONLY THE BEST misfire and taking it out on him. He had only got as far as the ring apron when Spike was grabbing him by the scruff of the neck and pulling him over the top rope and into the ring. Sir Ender tried to hurriedly scramble towards a corner only for Spike to now grab his legs and pull him back. It’s at this point the bell range. In a swift motion Spike picks Sir Ender and plants him back on the mat with a big choke slam. Then nails him with an Atomic Spike which leads to the pin. Omens are not good for Sir Ender. He still has the Gladiators queuing up to face him as their sparring partner of choice. Malice still to come later this month.
