Card 708 – NETWORK DEIMOS WRESTLING – Deimos Intergalactic Arena:
Heracles defeated Raven to become the new Heavyweight champ. Heracles has turned 2101 around by pushing himself into the Heavyweight belt picture and then actually going and winning it. Looks like a routine defence at first as Raven dominates in the opening minutes. Hits both BROADSWORD and BLADERUNNER and although both pin attempts fail to put Heracles away it just appears to be of delaying the inevitable. Instead of going for the jugular Raven seems to slow his pace down and Heracles slowly but surely forces his way back into the match. Tokens start racking up for Raven and by the time Heracles hits OLYMPIA he is actually up to the his fifth one and just has nothing more left in him to ward off the assault on his title. Crowd is shocked as Greek music suddenly plays and several maidens appear on the runway. Scurrying to ringside to remove the belt from the announcer’s table and place it on a velvet cushion with which to present to Heracles. Cannot really believe what has just happened. Heracles is the champ!
Interplanetary champ, Pulsar, beat Draconian Sheik by DQ. Cannibal has got them lining up for the Interplanetary belt. If Drac fails then Death’s Head is the next in line. Pulsar will do well to get through all this without his prized belt ending up in the boiling pot. He just about manages against Drac but ends the match bleeding. Showed he can brawl it out as it is a wild one. Does manage to throw ACID RAIN and hits WHIRLWIND a couple times but Drac keeps coming for him and Cannibal is a constant thorn. Luckily for Pulsar the referee eventually grows intolerant of Cannibal’s antics and disqualifies Drac.
New Order easily beat Vengeance and Mayhem. The two Gladiator singles stars not able to turn their hands to tag teaming. Dreggs starting very quickly and the tagging in Mace to really turn the screw. Not long before they are rattling Vengeance with THE HOLOCAUST (+5). New Order looked surprised at how easy it had been.
The Watchmen win again against Genesis Prime but only by DQ. Genesis Prime hoping the Watchmen would be low on confidence having seen their title challenge fade. Certainly seemed to be the case as Genesis Prime are dominating but Wraith allows himself to get drawn into an outside brawl with Tocsin. He uses his invisibility and freaks out all the ringside officials when a table is overturned apparently all on its own. The panicked ref calls for the bell. Genesis Prime protest their innocence but he is unmoved.
Chaos overcomes Ram with BOW OF DEFEAT. Considering that Ram has a recent win over Raven this is a more notable victory than it would seem on the surface.
Wolf beat Cycle Hog by DQ. Cannibal yet again making an attack to bring a match to a premature end. Wolf puts SAVAGE FACE CLAW on him to make him think twice before doing it again.
US. Patriot completely dominates Gemini. Adam completely outclassed his old partner. ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST ends the misery for Gemini. Ms. Liberty accompanied him and hugged her husband at the end. Adam has been very much in her shadow lately but maintains he is happy to be and extremely proud of her achievements.
Justice pinned Dynamo via SHOCK PROBATION. It’s only a glancing blow but enough to beat Dynamo. Good to see Commander Sam back at ringside and looking healthy after a couple of months away due to his enforced quarantine period. He warns Krakan to keep Mutant on a tighter leash unless he wants the FDF coming after him.

Latest News:
There was more than meets the eye on #706. The intensity of the feud between Murderer’s Row and the Mad Jester increasing. In the showers (no real segregation between heroes and villains backstage at the venue) the Murderer’s Row team had decided to continue their attack on him which had been cut short earlier on. Through the mists Cannibal, Drac and Hog emerge ready to pounce on him. Quasar walks blindly in totally unaware it’s all about to kick off and became an innocent victim. Cannibal uses Quasar’s own towel with which to strangle him. This alerts Mad Jester who turns just in time to see Drac and Hog. With lightening reaction he turns the shower head on them and ramps up the heat to boiling hot. Cycle Hog backs off and puts a shoulder out slipping on a soap bar and then smacking his head on the hard floor. Drac is petrified by the scalding heat and runs off screaming unintelligibly. Jester now turns back to where Quasar is being strangled in a corner and gasping for air. Ripping a shelf out the wall he then breaks it on Cannibal’s head. Blood mixes with water as it drains away. With Cannibal and Hog both down both Quasar and Jester are able to get away largely unscathed. Draconian Sheik is nowhere to be seen but there is a trail of damage giving clues to the path he has taken.
Going to be a big month for Johnny Rocket and Monad. It is clear Rocket has big plans for Monad. Matches against Raven and Star Warrior are booked. Johnny Rocket is also stepping into the ring as part of an undercard rivalry developing with Eagle. When asked if he had similar big plans for Generation X by Qualiar his response was “shove off Qualitar. The plans for the Rocket Men are none of your business”.
It is common knowledge that Mandrill lusts after Heavyweight gold and with recent success at OTB he will be among the top contenders. Commissioner Grogan refers to assumptions made by Mandrill that he will finally challenging for the belt at FRIGHT NIGHT as gibberish. He has been fielding lots of questions about the main event and then reveals the Heavyweight belt won’t even be defended at the event. Heracles is already booked to face Colussus who isn’t ranked high enough to earn a shot. In fact Heracles first challenge will be against the refreshed Vyper at FRIGHT NIGHT FEVER. The only way the match with Colussus can be for the title is if the champ agrees to make an extra defence on top of his mandatory one against the top contender. No way that Heracles was ever going to play that game. In fact the only belts that will be on the line at the event will be for tag team bracket. The IP belt will also need to be defended on another show because Pulsar is committed to his huge rivalry against Bishop Hell and that will also be a non-title match. Fans will not be too aggrieved as big feud matches always get the pulses racing. It’s not all about the belts in the GWF.
Main matches signed so far … Heracles-Colussus; Bishop Hell-Pulsar, both feuds in the balance and the chance to claim victory in 2101 … Birds of Prey-Monad and Johnny Rocket ... Demons and Darkos-Enforcers and Terak
WHOSE HOT … Heracles, Death’s Head, Wolf, Quasar, Amazonia, Ms. Liberty, Demons of Hydra, New Order, the Mercenaries WHOSE NOT … Raven, Max Shield, Draconian Sheik, Max Shield, Bishop Hell, Cassandra, Thrash, the Gamemasters, Titan Fury INJURED – none; SUSPENDED – none
MEGATOURNAMENT STANDINGS: Colby-Pelf Corp 234, Omega’s Heroes 219, Morpheus’s Villians 159. (In a low scoring month the Independent team are still running like clockwork. Their juggernaut tag teams managing to extend their lead slightly. Morpheus may of scored the biggest own goal in GWF history when he dropped Heracles from the Villain roster. Heracles won the Heavyweight belt and is now a potential points scoring machine but Morpheus will not be seeing any of those. On the hero side they are efficiently ticking along and will be grateful to Amazonia for chipping in strongly in the women’s division. Things will be ramping up again on the points front next month with FRIGHT NIGHT FEVER taking over the GWF)
INDIVIDUAL SCORING SINGLES: Matador 51, Raven 37, Pegasus 33, Mandrill 31, Chaos 24, Monad 22, Alpha Force 21, Wolf 21, Bishop Hell 20, Vengeance 20, Janus 20, Mayhem 19, Colussus 17, Splatter 10, Pulsar 10, Max Shield 6, Heracles 5, Holocaust 3, Johnny Rocket 1, Enigma 0 TAG TEAM: Thunder and Overkill 61, Mercenaries 32, Gamemasters 24, New Order 22, Superiority Complex 19, Generation X 19, Sam’s Squadron 15, Henchmen 8, Flamboyance 4, Pillars 0 WOMEN: Amazonia 23, Thrash 12, Cassandra 2 Wrestler of the Month: WOLF - Back to his brawling best in matches with Draconian Sheik and Cycle Hog. Fans loved seeing him give Cannibal, who has been the most annoying of all managers, SAVAGE FACE CLAW after his match with Hog. Tag Team of the Month: DEMONS OF HYDRA - Bounce back from a huge injury lay off and get straight back on the saddle. Big victory claimed against the Gamemasters and a likely title shot awaits them.

Card 709 – Denebola Spiral Arm Stadium:
Raven beats Monad in a Cosmic Cage match. Raven desperately needing a lift after recent losses to both Ram and Heracles plus of course the Heavyweight belt. A match against Monad may not be the wisest idea when your short on confidence but Raven has a point to prove. He is straight in there, no messing about. Monad hit with BROADSWORD three times with barely five minutes on the clock but Raven can’t get out the cage yet. Monad manages to turn things around and it is now worrying for Raven. When Monad gets going on offence he is very tough to stop. All four arms are working overtime to punish Raven but it is not going anywhere. Raven evades the worst of the attacks and bides his time before surging into things again. Monad charges at him and Raven manages to get out the way. Monad runs straight into the cage and this is Raven’s chance. Hits Raven Reverse Slam a few times, which is a move he loves, then unloads WAR Gun. Now he feels this is the chance to make his escape. He’s not out the woods yet. Still needs to get over the cage and Monad with his four arms is very adept at pulling people back in. Sure enough Monad gets up and tries to stop him but Raven by now is half way down the other side. Nonetheless all four arms reach through the bars and grab Raven’s hair to stop him from dropping those last few feet. Unless Raven wants to lose a large chunk of his hair he is going to have to ward Monad off or climb back up and into the cage. Raven grits his teeth and chooses the latter option and meets Monad at the top of the cage. He finds at the top he has the slightly higher ground and is able to land a ferocious blow to the top of Monad’s head. Monad suddenly loses his grip and footing and plummets backwards into the cage. Quick as a flash Raven climbs back down the cage and safely touches the bottom for a very hard earned victory.
The Gamemasters win against Superiority Complex by DQ. Both teams have been inconsistent throughout 2101 and still looking to kickstart a title push. It seems as if Superiority Complex, for all their amazing success, have not reigned with the belts in quite some time. On the other side it still hasn’t been forgotten that Thantos can still achieve the incredible mark of holding 10 titles (spread across singles and tag) but with retirement looming in the next couple years he hasn’t got all that long to do it. Signs of the importance are also heightened by the fact that both managers are present at ringside. Both Omega and Morpheus have been very selective about accompanying their wrestlers in the past. Whereas Omega very rarely does anything physical during a match, preferring to encourage and act as a source of inspiration, Morpheus struggles to stay completely hands off. It is that mantra that costs his team the match. Superiority Complex make most of the running but the minute the Gamemasters get a period of control he makes a move. The target is Thantos who had tried to pinch a breather against Prodigy. Morpheus should of left him to it but instead goes over and picks an argument with him which ends with a moment of rage where he fires a spiteful kick. Post match Omega isn’t happy with the manner of victory as he always wants a fair fight and a pin fall or submission but he had this to say “I take great satisfaction with how we tactically wrestled. We knew Morpheus could do something like this and cause his own downfall. He is just under too much pressure to be a good manager of the villain team at the moment.
Turnbuckle Shock match, Mad Jester destroys Bishop Hell in less then two minutes. Jester is on a rampaging run of form and doesn’t give Bishop Hell a second to breathe. Doesn’t even use the electrified turnbuckles. A vicious Jagged Edge Standing Kick and then when Bishop Hell eventually picks himself up a Mad Dash Clothesline brings the curtain down on it. Jester shows his insanity by celebrating with a playful charge at one of the turnbuckles. Forgets that they were still live and getting a nasty shock.
The Henchmen defeated Genesis Prime by DQ. If there was such an award for biggest disappointment of the year then Genesis Prime would surely win it. Wraith with his invisibility power was expected to be a force to be reckoned with but it hasn’t happened for him in the GWF so far.
Killer Queen labours to victory over Pollux. Queenie found himself in trouble against Pollux, the commentary team were getting over excited talking up possibility of a second consecutive win for Pollux and the start of a winning run. Queenie manages to come through the early burst and hits WARP SPEED but Pollux kicks out on 1. Could it really happen that Pollux would win? Unfortunately Pollux cannot build on that moment, Queenie gets more determined and a few minutes later tries it again. This time there is no kick out and the banana skin is avoided.
Cassandra beat Thrash by DQ. Some useful points for the villain team.

Card 710 – Denebola Spiral Arm Stadium:
(Show features a FRIGHT NIGHT update and the main event reveal is a surprise. Thunder and Overkill against the Demons of Hydra. As a result the Darkos and Demons-Terak and Enforcers match is moved to a week earlier and now forms part of the FEVER build up show. Darkos bragging that the GWF is finally recognising Assassin greatness. The other huge announcement is Chaos and the Matador meeting again. To try and control the match and get an outright winner Massif has been given the important task of refereeing. He has already said he will take no nonsense in enforcing the rules and will not hesitate to dish out VOLCANIC DROP if anyone questions his decisions. The three other reveals were Wolf-Mayhem in a Falls Count Anywhere match, Pegasus-Vengeance in a Stun Rod match, Max Shield and Wraith-Mandrill and Painmaster, mixing it up. Can Genesis find a winning formula to peg the Colonizers back?)
Interplanetary belt match, Pulsar wrestles Death’s Head to a violent double DQ. Pulsar, knowing full well that a brawl will play into Death’s Head and Cannibal’s hands, keeps a lid on his temper. His moves are dealt with thought and precision. Completely dominating and picking Death’s Head off who gets really frustrated. Cannibal has seen enough after WHIRLWIND and attempts to go after Pulsar but remarkably gets himself ejected. In annoyance Cannibal kicks over his mini cooking pot smashing into two. Not been his best night in the GWF as we remember what also went down earlier against Quasar. Pulsar doesn’t let the commotion disrupt him and keeps up the momentum and intensity but for some reason is having trouble finishing Death’s Head off. Always dangerous when such domination cannot be turned into victory. As Death’s Head reaches 6 fatigue tokens the match turns, as if he is getting stronger with every one. A series of skull rake’s now have Pulsar on the back foot and one is so pulverising that it results in Pulsar falling through the ropes. He cannot count on the Collector who offers little encouragement and just watches silently. As Death’s Head lunges at him Pulsar realises he needs to get dirty. He arms himself with a chair which Death’s Head also makes a grab for. They end up wrestling for its possession. Pay little attention to the sound of the bell and resulting disqualification and continue brawling to the back. Hours after the match Pulsar seeks out Magnus Colby to complain about the Collector’s lack of management during the match. He is confident, as a holder of a GWF title who should command some respect, that will listen to what he has to say.
Thantos beat Heracles by DQ in a non-title match. Heracles going through the motions, saving energy for FRIGHT NIGHT. He even says before the match that if Thantos slaps MASTERLOCK on that he will be tapping out immediately to avoid injury. It doesn’t matter anyway as the belt is safe whatever happens. Thantos fumes over the disrespect shown “when I was a champion I always gave 100% to every match. The sooner he is dethroned as champion the better”. Fuelled by this Thantos really takes it to Heracles and manages to get his famed finisher locked in twice. However when faced with the moment Heracles actually puts up a fight. The first time he breaks free with power and second time takes a more cowardly way out by desperately grasping the ropes. Deciding he might still want the purse given to match winners after all Heracles has a brief run in the ascendancy. He nails Thantos with OLYMPIA but when it is clear finishing him isn’t going to be very easy decides to cut the match short (Thantos kicked out on just 1). Heracles uses his power to knock Thantos over the top rope and then picks up the referee in a press. The poor ref is thrown onto Thantos leaving them both in a heap. Heracles doesn’t care, he got more than he bargained for in the match. Grabs hold of his belt and calls for several of his maidens to fan his sweating body as he departs to a chorus of boos.
Star Warrior pinned Monad. In the build up Johnny Rocket brushes off Monad’s recent defeat to Raven, “he got lucky. Star Warrior will feel the full brunt of Monad’s rage and then revenge will happen at FRIGHT NIGHT”. Star Warrior has no intention of being a stepping stone for Monad and has a few tricks up his sleeve to deal with the four armed monster. He keeps using the ropes and takes advantage of Monad’s awful agility. The match takes a few twists and turns but Star Warrior eventually dishes a Cosmic Crash to win and send Monad into his FRIGHT NIGHT programme on a run of terrible form. Star Warrior also has some special extra treatment for Johnny Rocket as he gets hold of him and floors him with a Tomahawk Thrust. This is payback for Rocket’s interfering which had got in the way of COSMIC BIG BANG twice during the middle part of the bout.
Quasar sends Cannibal packing in little over a minute. With Lord Nexus not accompanying Quasar to matches against Murderer’s Row members Cannibal doesn’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth. He challenges Quasar to face him and gets accepted. Cannibal laughs “Quasar can’t cope without someone being there telling him what to do whether it is wrestling or that sport for wimps, Gravity Ball. There will be no escaping THROAT SLIT”. Of course Quasar seeks to make him eat those words and shows true Titan spirit. Within four moves it is all over as he ends with HIGH ROLLER. Cannibal given a reminder of his age and perhaps needing to spend less time in the ring and more time managing (or whatever it is that describes his leading of his team).
The Mercenaries get an undeserving DQ win over Sam’s Squadron. As much as the Mercenaries are universally despised there is no doubt that they should be challenging for the tag titles and are being shafted by the Colby-Pelf Corporation. There is so much money involved in the union that they cannot do too much about it (yet). Krakan tells his guys they just have to keep on winning to ensure they are in position ready to pounce when the Gladiators drop the titles. On-off rivals Sam’s Squadron have their own agenda and need a win as they are badly lagging behind their hero comrades. Sam sends them into battle on the back of a typical rousing dressing room speech. Its galvanising effect is very evident when things are underway. Justice and Vigilante wage a war inside the ring. It is almost forgotten that they were once tag team partners and extremely close friends as it was so long ago. The intensity of their battle here reminds us all of that. Unfortunately Vigilante has the bragging rights on this occasion as Justice’s partner US. Patriot makes what the referee deems to be an unprovoked attack on Krakan. Everyone knew it was not unprovoked. Krakan had ruined a very possible pin fall victory for the Squadron after US. Patriot had nailed Soldier of Fortune with ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST. The crafty distraction had allowed Vigilante to blindside Adam and put the Mercenaries on top. With Commander Sam’s blessing Adam retaliates by grabbing the American flag and trying to choke Krakan with it. Sam and Justice pick up chairs to stop the Mercenaries violently attacking them. Adam then releases Krakan who is coughing and spluttering. The Hitmen are then sent away like scalded dogs. When the match is dissected there are plaudits for the Squadron over the way they humiliate the Hitmen but, as some online reports point out, they have surrendered vital MEGATOURNAMENT points by letting emotions cloud their better judgement. They hadn’t won after all.
Royal Blood beat the Zodiac by DQ. Two teams going nowhere at the moment. Nothing much offered here to warm the crowd up properly. Thankfully the card would improve as the night wears on.

Card 711 – FRIGHT NIGHT FEVER – Vega Palladium:
Vyper shocks the cosmos by beating Heracles to become the new Heavyweight champion. The grand entrance returns. A maiden comes out early to announce Heracles and massage his ego “all bow down and behold the new GWF champion”. Heracles is then carried out on a gold encrusted throne wearing the belt. About twenty maidens distribute plates to some of the crowd commemorating Heracles winning the title with his picture, the time and place it happened printed on them. Vyper rushes out earlier than planned and starts smashing the plates. Heracles is horrified and rises from this throne to tackle Vyper. He uses his power to pummel Vyper and it looks like this will be a routine defence. Terak is working very hard to help Vyper out and keeps him in it after OLYMPIA. Getting angered at Vyper’s resistance it appears Heracles may go down the route of getting himself disqualified to protect the title. He thinks nothing of throwing him outside and even gets one of his own commemorative plates and smashes it over Vyper’s head. Terak pleads with the referee to allow the match to continue. The ref warns him that he won’t tolerate too much more of this. Terak is worried for Vyper and shouts encouragement as Heracles now lays him out in the ring and goes to the top rope. Heracles shouts “this will finish him once and for all” but suddenly Vyper rises. Heracles look of confidence leaves him as Vyper climbs the buckle and meets him. Then in a dramatic move suplexes Heracles into the ring. It feels like the whole venue shakes on impact. Some of the maidens at ringside look gob smacked as Vyper’s second wind kicks in. He puts his heart and soul into it and after a few minutes levels Heracles with VYPER’S SIDESHOW. There is no attempt to kick out and incredibly we have a new champion. Terak rushes in and hugs Vyper. He cannot of imagined the GWF title would ever be among the Savage Kingdom’s list of honours. Heracles recovers and warns Vyper he will be back to reclaim his title. He might even of tried to attack him there and then if he hadn’t spotted that Vyper’s snakes were now out of their bag and freely slithering about in the ring.
Abomination overcomes the team of Quasar and Mad Jester. Quasar joins forces to help Jester after becoming a surprise innocent victim of Murderer’s Row. Lord Nexus doesn’t endorse the union with Jester (who he sees as a heel character) and doesn’t accompany. Quasar understands the reasons for this stance but is determined to press ahead. Cannibal is a smart alec and creates dissension between the two unusual partners by suggesting Mad Jester is trying to break up the Titans. Quasar grows weary of Jester in light of the comments and the pair of them struggle to bond as a team. Abomination gets the win after Cycle Hog manages to take all the air out of Jester with HEAVY LOAD. Quasar quickly abandons going after Cannibal’s team again, “no hard feelings towards Jester. He just got caught out but we didn’t gel at all. He is a bit too quirky for my tastes and I don’t want to upset Lord Nexus any longer. It is not worth pursuing this”.
Ladies tag, Amazonia and Ms. Liberty play out a double DQ against Cassandra and Maxine Babe. Potential future GWF trivia here as it is a first ever ladies tag match up. Sadly no decisive outcome as the ladies show how hardcore they can be. Ends in one massive cat fight within a couple of minutes and the referee cannot control it.
Demons of Hydra and Darkos win an entertaining battle against the Enforcers and Terak. Nice mid card feud coming to a boiling point. Demons with one eye on their upcoming title match against the Gladiators. In fact during the bout Thunder and Overkill show up at the end of the runway to watch the Demons. Creates a tense atmosphere but the Demons manage to get on with it. Most of their punishment is meted out to Wildcat and they use THE FINAL ORACLE twice on him. Wildcat kicking out on each occasion won’t of had the Gladiators quaking. At this point they have seen enough and leave. The match continues with Darkos earning the Assassin victory via FINAL CURTAIN on Terak. Disappointment for Terak but little did he know how much better things would be getting later in the show.
Draconian Sheik goes over Exo-King. Fast start, three pin attempts in the first five moves (one from Exo-King after Regal Roundhouse and two from Drac including DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER). Later in the match Exo-King crucially misses CORONATION CEREMONY handing Drac the initiative. Whilst still outside Exo-King is slammed across the announcer’s table. Drac then manages to follow Cannibal’s prompting to roll the King back into the ring and pin him.
Johnny Rocket pinned Eagle after a choke on the ropes sends him unconscious. Eagle is prepped and primed. Always excited to be part of a big show. Rocket then taunts Eagle to cut the umbilical cord to Raven and not bring him to ringside. Not wanting to appear yellow Eagle convinced Raven to stay away so he can show Rocket but is then shocked when he comes out and sees Monad lurking over the other side. Rocket has done him up like a kipper. He laughs and says “looks like you flew the nest too early!” Monad’s presence is a constant concern and Eagle cannot relax. It gives Rocket the impetus needed and after a cowardly kick to the shins unleashes a move he calls ROCKET BLAST. In reality it is just a weak slingshot into the turnbuckle and Eagle is able to kick out pretty easily. Rocket worries that his plan to outnumber and intimidate might not work as Eagle makes a stirring fight back. Monad then reaches in and with one of its arms trips Eagle who was running the ropes. Rocket conveniently made sure the ref’s back was turned. Worse still was the resulting choke on the ropes. Nobody sees Monad several feet away pulling on the rope with all four arms to increase the leverage and make the rope as taught as possible. Poor Eagle never stood a chance. Would have to check in more detail but I think Rocket boasts a 100% match win record (although he has only wrestled Reynard B. Guile and Eagle as far as I am aware).
Titan Death match, Vertigo defeated Tocsin. Vertigo not too keen on getting into close quarters with Tocsin. Using dazzling speed to keep away. Tocsin manages to close in with Colonizer Claw Grip a couple of times but Vertigo’s tactics generally work well. Amid the fast moves Vertigo manages to send Tocsin spinning numerous times with MOTION SICKNESS. Then hits Genesis Rocket Launcher to finish off. Tocsin dribbles and looks like the is going to throw up before collapsing.
Titan Death match, Enigma in his best performance since joining the villain roster defeats US. Patriot. From the moment Adam misses a turnbuckle charge and goes flying out the ring in the opening 30 seconds he is in big trouble. Never recovers and spends the next few minutes getting creamed. Enigma casually puts him away via a head butt with mask.

Card 712 – FRIGHT NIGHT – Vega Palladium:
Tag belt match, Thunder and Overkill against the Demons of Hydra ends in a double DQ. The Demons are next challengers on the conveyor belt. Nobody gives them a prayer. Thunder messes up Demon big time in the ring and then in a sequence we regularly see hands off to Overkill to put finishing touches on. When he goes for TURNBUCKLE TRAP things looks desperate for the Demons but the Gladiators forget that Darkos has the sneaky switch trick. He manages to pull a distraction and Hydra comes in to stun Overkill with a flurry of offence out of nowhere. The Gladiators quickly work out the Demons have tried to mug them off and it just magnifies their rage. Overkill fends off the fight back and then gets hold of both of them one by one to press them over the top rope (always a remarkable demonstration of his strength). Then with Thunder following climbs outside to meet them. Both Demons scramble to arm themselves with chairs. In the background the referee signals for the bell but it doesn’t halt the Gladiator advance. Despite the Demons possessing weapons Overkill keeps coming and destroys everything in his path. The Gladiators may not of won the match but they march on as seemingly unbeatable champs. Bring on the next victims.
Colussus humiliates Heracles with a fast victory. Another evenly poised feud going into the event. Heracles is angry with everything as he still comes to terms with immediately losing the Heavyweight title. He doesn’t want to be here wrestling Colussus as he is so obsessed with regaining it. Notable that Morpheus walks behind Heracles on the entrance to manage him at ringside, apparently now recognising his value to the team in the wake of recent results. It is a disastrous outcome. Colussus is fired up and knocks Heracles flying as soon as the match begins. Before Heracles knows what is going on he has been hit with his own OLYMPIA move twice and gets pinned. Match cannot of been far short of a minute long. Morpheus stands there watching and looks stunned before putting his head in his hands. Perhaps if Heracles had given the bout better attention rather than sulk about his recent loss of the Heavyweight belt things might of been different. As it is he is humiliated and has well and truly lost the feud against Colussus this year. Will he accept defeat and move on or look for revenge in 2102?
Pulsar shocks Bishop Hell with an easy win in a non-title clash. Match setup to decide who wins the feud in 2101 (one apiece so far this year). Pulsar is pumped up and it is pretty obvious whoever gets their finisher off first (and gets away with it) will be the winner. Making sure that he has a chance to do it early Pulsar steams into Bishop Hell and after a few minutes relentless punishment throws ACID RAIN. The Collector finally shows some usefulness by pulling off a distraction to divert the ref and Bishop Hell is done for. The ref turns and demands to know what happened. Pulsar looks pretty guilty but makes no admissions. There is suspicion from the referee but with no supporting evidence and not having seen it with his own eyes stoops down to make the count. The Occult Overlord complains vehemently but there is no changing the decision. Good crowd reaction to Pulsar winning. He is still popular despite his controversial style and of course Bishop Hell remains universally hated for his checkered history.
Chaos defeated the Matador in a match where Massif was the ref. There is a lot of excitement for the bout. Massif is aware of its importance and tries to set some ground rules as both guys face up but it is clear they aren’t really listening. He doesn’t dwell on it and releases them to commence. Chaos quickly kills the atmosphere by slowing the pace down and using wear down moves like bear hugs and headlocks. The Matador has to use all his guile to give himself a chance against the power and remarkably escapes an arm lock and manages to nail BULLWHIP. Reynard B. Guile goes mad outside as Massif allows Morpheus to interfere and break the hold. As the match progresses both managers annoy Massif to the point they both get clobbered and their influences are diminished. Chaos needs to try and liven himself up after this shock and immediately forces himself to his feet. He manages to shoulder charge the Matador down to the ground forcefully and then hits an elbow drop where he comes crashing down like a ton of bricks. Back in control BOW OF DEFEAT and the Chaos Stronghold are deployed a few times. The Matador stays in it but the moves take their toll. Chaos appears to be slowly moving towards an unpopular victory but the Matador can never be discounted and manages another BULLWHIP amid the punishment he is under. It is a fleeting effort from the Matador. The move fails to put Chaos away and he is again overpowered. Chaos senses another BOW OF DEFEAT should be enough as the Matador is seriously wilting and sure enough the application yields victory. The Matador slips into unconsciousness and Massif has no choice but to end the match. It is a tragic finish to what was a thrilling match. Many of the crowd have a quiet admiration for the Matador and wanted him to prevail. Their spirits are lifted slightly when Chaos gets in Massif’s face over many of his decisions in the match. Not content with the win he cannot help but try to humiliate Massif too. Massif tries to leave but as Chaos grabs his shoulder from behind he turns and levels him with a powerful clothesline sending the big man to the canvas.
Stun Rod match, Pegasus gets the better of Vengeance. Two guys lurking near the top of the singles rankings and desperate to break through to the top contender spot. Victory here would be very beneficial. Pegasus starts fantastically using his power along with great wrestling moves. He is unmoved by Vengeance’s psychological tactics and simply batters him. Cannot see how Vengeance can last for very long against this especially when Pegasus rams him with the rod. The conniving Gladiator does ride out some of it and tries to get a foothold but lacks venom and cannot string a rhythm of offence. The rod also remains despairingly out of his grasp. Pegasus is just too strong and swats away anything Vengeance tries and wins with a flying elbow drop. The elevation and height put into it is impressive. Pegasus then grabs the rod again and sticks it in Vengeance’s gut for good measure. Can’t help a little indiscretion but I guess he can be forgiven. He has just delivered a vital point scoring victory to the heroes.
Falls Count Anywhere match, Wolf uses the fortified video screen to pin Mayhem. Predictable carnage. The first chance Wolf gets he rolls outside and drags Mayhem to start the fun and games. It gets really interesting when Wolf sends Mayhem head first through a door and right into a room where Omega and Commander Sam are busy speaking with several members of the rest of the hero team. They all take evasive action as Mayhem is thrown right into the table they were all huddled round. Sam frowns as Wolf then picks Mayhem up and they continue a brawl down a dimly lit corridor. In fact the camera crew and all the viewers pretty much get an entire tour of the arena depths. It is only when they come back into the main arena that the action comes to an end. Wolf slamming Mayhem straight into the video screen. Mayhem slides down it and ends in a heap. Wolf sticks a claw on Mayhem’s chest and signals for the ref to start a count. He howls loudly as the third and final tap is made. It has not been a vintage year for Wolf but in the last couple of months there has been an up turn in results and this is the crowning glory.
Birds of Prey (Raven and Eagle) overcome Monad and Johnny Rocket. Rocket barking loudly about his unblemished GWF record in the build up. Come match time he stays out of the ring. Monad effectively wrestling a handicap match at first. Of course if they were to win he will take all credit but in the event they are defeated, as long as he doesn’t get pinned he can go on bragging about not being beaten. Raven tries to pull him into the ring constantly but keeps being frustrated as Monad always stops him. Raven goes over to speak with Eagle and suddenly they have an idea. He charges at Monad and manages to force him with a shoulder towards the turnbuckle. As Monad pounds on his back with all his arms wildly one of them accidentally touches Rocket’s hand. Eagle alerts the ref who orders Rocket into the ring. Raven gets in front of Monad preventing the immediate tag out and within a few moves hits BROADSWORD. Remarkably Rocket survives as Monad attacks Raven before he can pin him. The ref misses it as he is busy dealing with Eagle who is complaining about something. Johnny then hits out of nowhere ROCKET BLAST. Raven kicks out on 1 but looks embarrassed. Johnny now seems to think he can actually beat Raven on his own and tries a death jump but gets thrown down. Not wanting the same thing to happen again Raven rushes towards Monad and drop kicks it off the apron before trying his next big move on Johnny. A dramatic cross body off the top off the turnbuckle and this time there is no saving him. Eagle is loving the occasion and celebrates with great vigour whilst Raven holds his arms aloft. Terrific moment for the youngster. It has been an awful month for Monad with numerous defeats. Afterwards Raven challenges Rocket to face him one-on-one but Rocket responds “never”.
Elimination Match - Titan Death, Ursa Major and Titan Fury get the better of Pharaoh Khety and the Zodiac. Ursa Major is on fire accounting for all the Titan victories and overshadowing his more illustrious team mates. Order of eliminations - Mesmer pinned Rising Sun. It is a long first fall with all the wrestlers featuring prominently but the battle between Rising Sun and Mesmer takes centre stage. Rising Sun uses SUNSET SPECTACULAR three times but Mesmer keeps kicking out. Mesmer then resorts to psychological warfare and shows how powerful his mind is by repeatedly using EVIL EYE to put Rising Sun in a trance. Rising Sun snaps out of it the first few times but eventually goes comatose long enough to be eliminated; Ursa Major levels it up by pinning Gemini with a dropkick off the turnbuckle; Ursa Major continues his good form after beating Pharaoh Khety with SHOTGUN CRADLE; Ursa Major takes advantage of Mesmer being weakened from earlier to also finish him with SHOTGUN CRADLE.
Janus beats Splatter with a nifty airplane spin. Looking for another big name victim Splatter picks up his weapon mid match and takes some daring shots with it. He is purposefully swinging at air but seems to be testing the referees resolve. He then tosses the weapon to lull Janus into a false sense of security. Krakan quickly climbs up the ring steps to get the attention of the ref which also distracts Janus. Turning your back on Splatter is never a good idea. He instantly rushes to grab Arsenal and tries to nail Janus. Morpheus has seen this and shouts at Janus who is just about able to move and Krakan gets taken out with it instead. The crowd loves this unexpected twist. Splatter is shocked and as he looks over the ropes at his fallen manager is rolled up from behind and nearly pinned there and then. Janus has got his gander up and keeps using his far superior wrestling skills to extinguish any fight back Splatter attempts. Then showing good strength hoists Splatter up for an airplane spin. The move disoriented Splatter so much that once put down he walked straight into a turnbuckle and then backwards into another smart roll up from Janus. This time the move sticks. Janus wins!
Holocaust takes a huge win against Alpha Force. Long match with back and forth action. Descends into a sprint finish with time limit fast approaching. Alpha Force is able to wind up and connect with TOMAHAWK THRUST. Holocaust has a lot to thank Reynard B. Guile for a crucial distraction buying him recovery time. Holocaust is then able to come back and use SHOCK WAVE (+4) to win.
Max Shield and Wraith beat Mandrill and Painmaster by DQ. Max has nothing to lose by going for it in this match. Genesis has been very much second best to the Colonizers all year long so it is not worth being too cautious. His outlook is always positive and to still aims to end 2101 on a high which they do with a disqualification victory. The battle is finely poised throughout most of its 8 minute run time. Max is on the end of VOLTAIC STUNNER at one stage but Wraith saves him. Later Wraith takes the fight to both Colonizers and has a tough battle with Mandrill in particular which goes in and out of the ring. Mandrill eventually using an object illegally to draw the ref’s disdain (he was already walking a right rope after zapping Max earlier). Nothing resolved but Genesis will take the win. Would probably like to see this match played again if booking gaps permit.
Dreggs beat Metalhead with TWIST AND SHOUT. A boozed up Metalhead more or less rolls over.

GWF REPORT (MEGATOURNAMENT 2101 CARDS 709 - 712)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Vyper (Top Contender: Chaos) * GWF Tag Champs: Thunder and Overkill (Top Contenders: Gamemasters) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Pulsar (Top Contender: Death’s Head)
Latest News:
Terak seems to have the midas touch when it comes to guiding Vyper’s career. He has now helped steer Vyper to an incredible Heavyweight belt triumph. Darkos and Enigma are overcome with jealousy but sense an opportunity. With Vyper holding the belt it is an ideal time to fire this feud up again. Amazing how things can change. Not too long ago they were feuding over the secondary Interplanetary belt but the stakes are now potentially about to get even higher. Darkos immediately posts online challenging Vyper on behalf of his client (all very business like!) for the belt. Vyper quickly tells him where to go but Darkos will not take no for an answer and takes it up with the Commissioner. Amazingly Grogan gives it an audience and says that if Enigma can prove himself by beating Vyper in a non-title match then he will ‘seriously’ consider it!
Pulsar is not flavour of the month within the independent team. He continues to be outspoken against his employers for giving him a manager, the Collector, who hardly seems interested in guiding his career. He is very quickly warned not to bite the hand that feeds him. Lord Nexus has remained pretty quiet recently about Pulsar but fights his corner. In his Titan blog he says that watching from afar he completely understands why Pulsar is frustrated. If he ever returns to the Titans he will always have the backing and 100% focus of his manager. Clearly Lord Nexus is keeping the door wedged firmly open for his old friend. Another wrinkle is that Colby (making things up to Krakan for having to hold the Mercenaries back) is rumoured to of offered Pulsar big bucks to go back to the Titan team in 2102. Get back in their inner circle and then wreak havoc from within. Of course nobody knows how Pulsar would feel about this if it is true. There are other things for Pulsar to deal with too. Obviously the rivalry with Bishop Hell is never going away but there is a lot of heat on him from Murderer’s Row. Cannibal wants his IP belt and is frustrated that so far Pulsar has kept it from their grasp. Cannibal wants to add the belt to his boiling pot to make a nice broth and is prepared to skin Pulsar alive to try and get it.
The falls count anywhere match between Wolf and Mayhem caused ructions with Commander Sam. Wolf dragged Mayhem right into the hero dressing rooms where several wrestlers were busy preparing and spending time with their respective managers. It was all a bit too close to home for Commander Sam who now wants Omega to have a word in Wolf’s ear about it. He doesn’t think Wolf cares enough about MEGATOURNAMENT and what he is fighting for. Remember Wolf even started to lose interest in the Civil War and cannot really be counted on as a dedicated team player. Omega wants to tread carefully because he knows the value of Wolf and how one wrong move could easily send Wolf AWOL or worse he could end up on the other side in 2102. Trouble is if he doesn’t do anything he risks upsetting Sam and he desperately needs not only the FDF but also Sam’s brilliant military mindset.
Thunder and Overkill continue to be dominating tag team champions. Word is that they have set their sights on surpassing their predecessors Brute and Massacre and beating their record for the longest reign. There is some way to go as their current run is at 40 cards. Brute and Massacre, back in 2090-2091, set the mark at 64 cards. If they do achieve it (or even get close) it will be the biggest sign that the torch has well and truly passed. Wonder how Brute and Massacre are feeling about it back on Aethra? The society is very closed and achievements are considered as shared among the great Aethran race but surely there must be some bitterness especially as they were replaced by the Vanguard after the Civil War. Or perhaps such petty emotions are beneath them.
First ever televised card from Brymstone is coming on #714. Fresh from his feud decider with Pulsar (which he lost) we are seeing Bishop Hell taking on a kindred spirit in Blazing Skull. Who is the fire master out of these two? Remember that Blazing Skull has yet to be pinned in the GWF and one of his victories includes Wolf. Hoses on standby in case the ring gets consumed by a furnace!
WHOSE HOT … Vyper, Pulsar, Colussus, Chaos, Wolf, Raven, Pegasus, Ursa Major, Janus, Holocaust, Draconian Sheik, Enigma, Quasar, Gamemasters, Abomination WHOSE NOT … Monad, Heracles, Bishop Hell, the Matador, Mayhem, Vengeance, Splatter, Alpha Force, Exo-King, Cannibal, US. Patriot, Titan Fury, Genesis Prime INJURED – none; SUSPENDED – none
MEGATOURNAMENT STANDINGS: Colby-Pelf Corp 244, Omega’s Heroes 236, Morpheus’s Villians 170. (Is Morpheus running out of ideas by sending some of the big guns after the IP belt? Chaos and Mandrill refuse to entertain it but Janus and Bishop Hell are being urged/told to pursue it even though they have always traditionally contested the top prize. Will they play along? It is squeaky bum time for Morpheus. 2101 is almost over and his team still sits 66 points from safety. Massive turnaround is needed. Omega, despite a few issues with Sam and Wolf, cannot help but feel more positive about his future due to the troubles of Morpheus. Deep down he feels Colby and Pelf’s team may be too difficult to beat but whilst the Villains continue to have internal struggles he will be safe to fight another day. In the MVP tag battle the Gladiators still look uncatchable. In the singles section things are closer as the Matador is slowly but surely being caught. He is suffering from not holding the belt … NEWS JUST IN … lifeline handed to Morpheus as Chaos is announced as top contender to the Heavyweight belt. A big chance to rack up vitally needed points)
INDIVIDUAL SCORING: SINGLES: Matador 51, Raven 42, Pegasus 38, Mandrill 31, Chaos 29, Wolf 26, Janus 24, Monad 22, Alpha Force 21, Bishop Hell 20, Vengeance 20, Mayhem 19, Colussus 17, Pulsar 14, Splatter 10, Holocaust 7, Max Shield 6, Heracles 5, Johnny Rocket 1, Enigma 0 TAG TEAM: Thunder and Overkill 61, Mercenaries 34, Gamemasters 26, New Order 22, Superiority Complex 19, Generation X 19, Sam’s Squadron 15, Henchmen 8, Flamboyance 4, Pillars 0 WOMEN: Amazonia 23, Thrash 12, Cassandra 4 Wrestler of the Month: VYPER - For an improbable win against Heracles to become the new Heavyweight champ. Proves his recent run to the final of OTB was no fluke. Ever since joining Savage Kingdom his career has gone from strength to strength. He has now held both the IP and Heavyweight titles this year. Tag Team of the Month: ABOMINATION – Not a stellar month for tag teams. Nobody shines. Abomination grabs the award for impressively beating Quasar and Jester. They have surprised a lot of people as they were expected to be little more than a comedy team but have posted plenty of wins in 2101.

wayne you have one of the most incredible feds I've ever seen. I don't know how you do it, but it's really impressive. You don't get the attention you deserve. This is FOTY stuff and it's consistent. Keep up all the hard work!

Guys, I am so touched by those comments. Thank you. I just love playing. Feel so far behind but am determined to play out and enjoy each year in full. I draw a lot of inspiration from the way Tom used to write and report his fed. It did occur to me that the way I was posting my write up made it hard to read (looks a lot better on ms word) so I recently tweaked the presentation to make it easier to follow. I wish I could play it all, aCe, CWF, legends, Kronos, i even loved 80s mania but it is overwhelming and not enough spare time. GWF will always be the mainstay so I always soldier on with that but I am playing some CWF Future Shock too. I guess the one silver lining of the lockdown is more playing time!!!!
