PART 4 – Luna Auditorium:
(Card notes ... Although the Galactic Rebels are mainly feuding with the Supreme Gods since their arrival there is a simmering rivalry with the All Earth Squad. The damaging effects of the power up a few cards back on Comrade Terror are still lasting. This is balanced out by Adam Blast on the other side. Injured on the last show but defying doctor’s orders to wrestle. Commander Sam is at his patriotic best leading his team out carrying American flags. Ghengis Khan and Mitsuko both look a bit bemused by it all. They don’t quite share the same enthusiasm for America. Sam had wanted the team name to be the All American Squad rather than the All Earth Squad but needed to appease Eastern Dynasty. Doomsayer despite a ban on ringside managers is present and instantly zips round on his chair. He shoots some kind of beam out of his arm rest which immediately sets Sam’s flag on fire. Several droids are quickly on the scene to extinguish the flames. Sam is angered by the desecration of the flag and shoves Doomsayer’s chair so hard as to send it spinning out of control and into the barriers. Doomsayer is carried away in the broken chair hurt but heard shouting revenge will be on its way. What a way to kick things off and the match hadn’t even started ... Darkos continues where the last show left off. This time with much greater success as he manages to send Lord Nexus to the treatment centre. Over the next couple of years the Masked Assassins continued their planned attacks mainly on dark shows. Eventually Darkos enters the ring himself and the attacks cease as the novelty wears off ... Finally the Galactic Punisher gets hands on Krakan who he has accused of ducking him. At long last a chance to serve justice)
Aethran Ultimate Escape match, the Galactic Rebels overcome the All Earth Squad. Both Sam and Mitsuko left inside the cage at the end. Burning flags and broken hovering devices to start the main event. Surely the match couldn’t live up to all that. All starts a bit ‘cagey’ as both sides are sniffing each other out. The first big moment comes when Commander Sam and Comrade Terror lock horns. Sam wants to take the initiative and make the most of Comrade Terror’s known weaknesses. The effects of the ‘power up’ are almost over according to Doomsayer. Comrade Terror battles Sam with vicious intensity to show he is not a weak link. It’s not going to be as easy as Sam had hoped. Anyway this was the order of escape in the match ... Comrade Terror is the first escapee against Mitsuko after a long opening battle. A relief for the Rebels as Comrade Terror’s problems don’t hamper him too much. With the All Earth Squad a man down and carrying an injured Adam Blast things don’t look good for them already. It’s the worst possible start; Ghengis Khan levels up by beating Tongsoon with Khan Nerve Pinch. Tongsoon goes through a lot including surviving MONGOLIAN MAULER. It looks like the Rebels tactic is to have Tongsoon going as long as possible to keep the Cosmic Forces fresh. But he has so many tokens against him now (6) they may have to let him rest up; Tongsoon pulls off a remarkable escape against Adam Blast. At first Tongsoon struggles to get tagged out but he defies logic to stop Adam escaping via MEGABLAST despite now moving up to 8 tokens. Then finally gets some much needed recovery time before coming back in just minutes later to beat Adam. The Alien Corps have been inspirational for the Rebels tonight; Antimatter then quickly escapes too after NEGATIVE CHARGE on Adam Blast. Poor Adam is in terrible shape now. Can Matter finish the job now he is left alone in the cage against three men? He will be weakened because of the fact Antimatter is no longer at ringside; Adam Blast gets himself out the firing line by taking out Matter with an instinctive Torpedo Launch. It’s a frantic battle but the All Earth Squad is not going down without a fight. At this stage both Mitsuko (6) and Matter (3) are seriously wilting. Sam looks the freshest of the three left; Matter drags himself out the cage against Mitsuko to win for the Galactic Rebels. Mega mistake from Mitsuko. He and Sam had Matter on the ropes. They just had to work together. But then Mitsuko tries a high risk move off the top rope and misses badly. Matter literally crawls out the cage. Sam was just too flabbergasted by Mitsuko’s mindless move to react. The Rebels don’t hang around to celebrate. They leave the All Earth Squad behind to bask in the glare of humiliation. Sam shoots Mitsuko a disappointed look and doesn’t even help him to his feet. It’s not Sam’s finest hour as he leaves in a huff. The All Earth Squad won’t have a long shelf life if they can’t start working together properly.
Satanic Cult scrape to victory over Powerhouse. Thantos and Bishop Hell became quite close in 2090. As partners in crime they called themselves the Satanic Cult. They would have a memorable match later in the year against Star Warrior and Pulsar Prime in the GALACTICON main event. Here they were testing themselves against the main regular FDF team Powerhouse. Massif aims to show even two top guys pulling themselves together as a team for special occasions cannot live with a seasoned tag team. Over the course of his career Massif was a thorn in Thantos’s side posting some shock wins against him. Thantos would later admit that he always hated wrestling Massif calling him “just too big and strong and what’s more he could wrestle too”. This was a very interesting battle and the lucky fans attending the show were talking about it all day long in anticipation. Many of them considered this to be the true main event but of course officially that was still to come. They were treated to a fine battle. Powerhouse on top at first with Massif giving Thantos a torrid time. Thantos just about keeping the damage to a minimum. He and Bishop Hell target Mattock as the weak link and wait for him to get in the ring. Eventually they get the opportunity and it is Bishop Hell who does the job. Even though the Royal Overlord fails with a distraction Bishop Hell gets away with HELLFIRE and it leads to Mattock being pinned. Thantos in a taunting mood after the win calling Powerhouse the FDF ‘B’ team who had tried to punch above their weight. Now they’d had their fingers burned quite literally for thinking they can compete with Satanic Cult.
Iron Mane upsets Spike. All set for a ferocious battle. This is the infamous match in which Iron Mane permanently damaged a paw. As explained earlier this gave him problems for the rest of his career. He had infamously referred to Spike as a poster boy prior to his GWF arrival. Spike took great offence to this and it might explain why, rather than trying to win the match, his focus is to maim Iron Mane. At first Spike wrestles defensively and lets Iron Mane make the early running. Iron Mane was lulled into a false sense of security by this. Spike just wants to see what he’s got to offer. After a couple of minutes the powerful Gladiator suddenly explodes into action. Unleashes a barrage of blows and sets about brutalising him. Then picks Iron Mane up in a huge show of strength and dumps him from a great height straight outside the ring. Iron Mane lands awkwardly and gives a loud yelp as a limb seems to twist under him. Not wasting a moment Spike drags him back into the ring but sometimes animals are at their most dangerous when wounded. As Spike stands over his fallen prey makes the mistake of mocking him. He turns his back whilst pointing to tell the crowd what he’s about to do. Suddenly Iron Mane leaps up and puts the pain he is suffering to the back of his mind. Sends Spike flying face first into a turnbuckle and then attacks with FINAL POUNCE not once but twice. It leads to a surprise win. Iron Mane doesn’t hang around to hear his name announced. He knows he’s got a bad injury and hobbles away as quick as possible to seek urgent treatment. In light of the loss can be forgiven for thinking Spike is in no mood to talk to anyone but surprisingly agrees to a rare interview after the match. It doesn’t last long though as he ends up destroying the recording equipment after getting irritated about questions over when and whether he will be receiving a cleansing himself. The whole process remains very cloak and dagger and the Gladiators are refusing to let any outsiders discover much detail. Aftermath is that bookers are clamouring for these two to meet again whenever and wherever possible. This is widely regarded as the next money spinning big feud.
Lord Nexus beats Pit Viper by DQ. Big rematch between the two. Lord Nexus wants to make amends for losing last time and is totally dominating from the opening bell. Pit Viper rolls out of the ring to relieve the pressure. It’s all part of another planned attack as the Masked Assassins return to finish the job they started on the last show. Trainer Jim is picked off again before this starts. This time the referee doesn’t let them get away with it and automatically disqualified Pit Viper. Although this meant Lord Nexus won the match he didn’t feel much like a winner as he is savagely beaten and injured for 2 cards. First up Death Masque held Lord Nexus up so the Executioner could give him HEADSMAN GUILLOTINE and then Splatter beat him with his club. In a final move Pit Viper strikes with VENOM BLAST several times. Darkos brags that his Titan friends have abandoned Lord Nexus by virtue of the fact nobody showed up to help out this time. The truth was that Darkos had managed to lock the door to the room in the bowels of the arena where Billy Jo Boxer and the Barbarians were gathered watching proceedings on a monitor. When the attack started to happen they went to make another save but couldn’t get out. Billy Jo Boxer eventually punched his way through the door but by that time it was too late. An added drama is when the medics tending Lord Nexus carry him away on the stretcher they find a Hitman’s card stuffed inside in the left boot of Lord Nexus. How Krakan got that in there bugged Lord Nexus but it was a sign of things to come. Sadly this won’t be explored here as this is the last card featured on this episode.
Galactic Punisher gets frustrated by Krakan only winning by DQ. This was all about the punishment of Krakan. Ever since Krakan targeted Pulsar Prime for the opening contract the Galactic Punisher has been waiting for his moment. Has had his hands full with the Galactic Rebels but as he puts it in his pre match promo “it’s now time to pass sentence”. Krakan outwardly paints a picture of not being bothered. Claims he is now taking out his own contract on Galactic Punisher. Justifies himself by saying “I’m just trying to make an honest living sorting out problems for people. Galactic Punisher is trying to take away my livelihood. For that reason I am targeting him for a contract of my own. His vigilante style of laying down the law must be stopped”. But enough build up, what about the match itself. Well, Krakan just about avoids an ultra embarrassing immediate loss. The first move of the match sees him missing a turnbuckle smash and having to kick out of a pin. The second move is LIFE SENTENCE and Krakan only just gets a shoulder up in time. Unfortunately Galactic Punisher lets Krakan out of jail and fails to keep the pressure on. Krakan fights his way back but still has moments of difficulty as also has to survive THE VERDICT later in the match. Krakan eventually takes the cowards way out by smashing Galactic Punisher with his rifle and takes the DQ loss rather than risk a pin fall loss. The failure to pin Krakan has a profound impact on the Galactic Punisher. Rather than hang his head in shame at failing in his mission statement he rolls his sleeves up and pledges to make sure things are different next time. The scene is set for a special match between them. For the record in my fed history they met on card #145 in a Hitman match which was won by Galactic Punisher but Krakan has the last laugh. There was no cash in the bag, only straw. That little stunt kept the feud bubbling well into 2090.
Pulsar Prime avoids a banana skin by beating Mutant. Is Mutant still doing odd jobs for Krakan? Seemed more than coincidental that it was being sent into a match with Pulsar Prime in such close proximity to the recent Hitman match. Maybe there was more to do for Krakan as part of the contract but he is too busy. After all Krakan has a massive match against Galactic Punisher to deal with later on. There was a little bit of drama at the start when Mutant failed to come out after being announced. Organisers frantically searched for it conscious that crowds could claims refunds if the full quota of six matches was not fulfilled. Panic over when it is found in the kitchen area of the arena restaurant helping itself to discarded and rotten food. It is coaxed out into the ring area and on spotting the waiting Pulsar Prime seems to be remember why it has been brought here for it suddenly charges him. Pulsar Prime is the hot favourite to win but must be very careful not to take for things granted. The raw aggression of Mutant has caused many an upset before (it once beat Star Warrior in one of the biggest upsets ever). Luckily Pulsar Prime handles it skilfully and quietens Mutant down early with SOLAR STRAIN. The move doesn’t lead to the win but another one, after some impressive stuff in between, a few minutes later does.
(Qualitar ... “And so we will leave it there. An absolute marathon of action. 2090 was a very exciting year and all this was a taster for that” ... Jim ... “Agreed, that was fantastic to watch and brought back some memories. As you saw things didn’t go too well for us Titans in these shows. Those pesky Masked Assassins caused us lots of trouble” ... Qualitar ... “Yes Darkos was a very shady character. Still is but I think back then, when he didn’t wrestle, he was worse. Lots of time to mastermind behind the scenes” ... Jim ... “I won’t dwell on it. Was a long time ago. Must admit I was surprised at Pulsar Prime’s results. I thought when he had joined the FDF he hit the ground running. Shows how the mind can play tricks” ... Qualitar ... “Unfortunately Thantos dealt with the threat so cleverly. He was right at the top of his game in 2090. But Pulsar Prime did eventually get himself going and became a very valued FDF member. What did you think of that last match? That was quite a statement from the Galactic Rebels” ... Jim ... “Have to give credit where credit’s due. They brought their game to the table. I felt for Sam. Deep down we all felt the All Earth Squad was doomed to fail. Sam tried his best to try something new but Khan and Mitsuko just weren’t on his wavelength. There were already signs in this match” ... Qualitar ... “Totally agree. Khan and Mitsuko were never the hero types. There was an us and them mentality existing in that team from the start. They could barely communicate because nobody knew each other’s language. Anyway it’s a shame we have to end it all here. There were a few unresolved issues at the end but many storylines were played out fully in the televised shows. We will certainly be back for another edition of ‘Fed Flashback’. Maybe focusing on WAR GAMES 2091. I hope you’ll join me again Jim?” ... Jim ... “Would be a pleasure. Loved watching the retro action”)

Dark Matches #1 … Charon Ice Castle
Splatter manhandles Prodigy in non-title action. Prodigy out of his depth. Although he does manage to annoy Splatter by kicking out after MEET ARSENAL and also THE SHREDDER. During a ref bump Prodigy got nailed with the weapon again. He was never going to last too much longer and a Face Splatter finally finished him off. Morpheus was at ringside but was holding back. Does he fear Splatter? The madman has certainly caused his team great trauma in the past few months; Sam’s Squadron beat Theatre of Pain by DQ. Action packed and Theatre of Pain certainly looking good again. Going toe to toe with the Squadron throughout. Ends when Tragedy attacks US. Patriot after Comedy was on the end of FREEDOM FLYER; New Order make short work of the Henchmen. Mace arrogantly describes match as prep for GALACTICON to blow out the cobwebs. Dreadnaught angered by this and says the Henchmen deserve more respect. Sadly they can’t make Mace eat those words as New Order wins at a canter. Marcel de Sade on the end of DECIMATION and Dreadnaught unable to save him; Holocaust goes over Thunder by DQ in a tasty match. They may both be members of the Independent team but fighting amongst themselves is nothing new and besides there is past rivalry. Thunder stuns Holocaust by surviving SHOCKWAVE (+5). He later loses by disqualification when he joins Thrash to beat Reynard B. Guile up for being annoying; Wraith beat Mandrill by DQ. Nothing resolved. Not much to pick between them. End up brawling and Mandrill goes too far; Buck Steele pinned Pollux after ROPE-A-DOPE FLURRY. Would of been funny if Genocide had appeared but in truth the chances of that happening was unlikely.
Dark Matches #2 … Brymstone Battle Dome
The Demonic Beings overcomes Star Warrior and Pulsar. Blazing Skull and Bishop Hell introduced by their unofficial name of the Demonic Beings. Excellent match. Despite the hardcore elements of most of the combatants all four guys are agile and technical wrestlers. In particular the early teamwork and fast moves from Star Warrior and Pulsar leave Blazing Skull’s head spinning. Blazing Skull isn’t about to be shown up on Brymstone though and manages to turn the tide. He puts Bishop Hell in a great position against Pulsar and he is able to win it with HELLFIRE. The ref may of been of Brymstonian origin as made no attempt to admonish Bishop Hell. The locals go mad for the outcome and Blazing Skull’s excellent record on home turf continues; Titan Wrestling upset Janus and Heracles. On their own Janus and Heracles would probably demolish Lord Nexus and Ursa Major. However as a tag team Lord Nexus thinks they might have a chance. He wants to show their is still life in the old dog yet. The Titans wrestle with incredible spirit and pull off a sensational victory. Not even lucky as by the time Heracles was pinned he was holding 6 tokens and Janus had 3. In a fantastic end Lord Nexus gets out the way of a risky death jump from Heracles and makes the hot tag. Ursa Major straight in with SHOTGUN CRADLE to seal the deal; Chaos beat Justice by DQ. Chaos mauls Justice with BOW OF DEFEAT and throwing him out the ring several times. Under pressure Justice grabs Sam’s flag pole and uses it to ward Chaos off which unfortunately draws the bell. Morpheus taunts Commander Sam at cowards tactics “ is this what you are teaching your guys to do? Maybe you should rename your team to Commander’s Cowards”; Mace gets the better of Metalhead in a tough match. Mace then loses total control and violently attacks Metalhead using MACE’S LITTLE HELPER over and over again. Johnny Rocket doesn’t escape either as he cops one. Metalhead leaves on a stretcher. Local crowd loving the blood and hardcore. Destructon 3000 furious and has to physically pull Mace off as he is the only one capable of doing it; Mutant wins over Mad Jester as match ends in predictable DQ outcome. Locals gagging for this. The Mutant is one of the most popular stars on Brymstone. Blink and you’d of missed it though. Within a minute the ref disqualified Jester for A DEAD MAN’S VERSE. Ref gets pelted by angry fans and ends up being replaced by a local creature/guy; Supernova beat Cassandra by DQ. Nearly instantaneous victory for Supernova after SPEED OF LIGHT. After this scare Cassandra makes a fight of it nearly winning with WHIPS AND CHAINS. Ultimately Cassandra brandishes her dominatrix whip and gets disqualified.

***BREAKING NEWS***
New Order out of GALACTICON! Mace suspended 10 cards for that little loss of control. Shocked fans see highlights of the attack on the next televised show. No messing from the Commissioner in dishing it out. The length may of been less severe but for Mace also bombing the ref who had bravely tried to stop him. Sadly it’s not a total surprise. Mace isn’t the same guy that he was a few years ago and has a very hair trigger temper capable of doing irrational things. Dreggs and Destructon 3000 are reported to be furious with Mace. Metalhead is injured 4 cards and may not appear at the event either. Johnny Rocket tries to use what happened to his advantage by declaring Generation X should be given a forfeit win over New Order at GALACTICON and receive all the perks that go with it. Grogan refuses that request quickly. He says they must still wrestle and will find them alternative opponents. They are permitted to replace Metalhead in the match if they wish though.

Card 741 – Mira Galaxy Dome:
Chaos overpowers Splatter in a non-title match. Angry Chaos vows to tear Splatter apart and snap Arsenal in two. He also wants to show his power on Omega’s home turf. Added to this there is obvious animosity between Krakan and Morpheus at ringside. They stay on opposite sides of the ring but constantly exchange stares. Inside the ring Chaos largely handles anything Splatter can throw at him and is very careful to avoid being attacked with Arsenal. Keeps Splatter positioned so he cannot easily make a grab for it. At one point Splatter tried but as he picked it up Chaos just moved behind him and grabbed BOW OF DEFEAT. Splatter dropped the weapon as he attempted to break free but he’d already felt the crushing power of the move on his ribs earlier. This time around he couldn’t survive. Chaos drops Splatter and then forcefully places a foot on his chest to pin him and make a big point. As Chaos leaves he picks up Splatter’s Interplanetary belt and looks at it. Never a title he has been interested in or respected. He laughs and then drops it on the floor before kicking it away like a rag. Krakan scrambles to retrieve the belt. Perhaps relieved the title wasn’t on the line and his team still has the bragging rights of holding two out the three titles. Thantos sends Ram away limping. Thantos keeping up his plan to face some old enemies in his retirement year. Some of the crowd, which is fiercely loyal to Omega’s family, give Thantos a hard time. They do not think much of his plan to more or less abandon the Gamemasters tag team to fulfil his own personal agenda. As a successful member of Animal Pack in his hero days Ram was a lesser stated enemy of Thantos so that provided some of the background to this bout being signed. Of course roles long since reversed. A chance for Ram to show his superiors that he is worth investing in. Left managerless as Colby and Pelf tell him “show us what you’ve got on your own”. Unfortunately he stumbles. Thantos draws on all his experience and after a long battle manages to clamp on MASTERLOCK. It is still a dangerous move despite the advancing years of Thantos. Ram manages to break free on the first attempt by getting himself to the ropes. However Thantos simply gets up and drags Ram back to the centre of the ring and slaps it on again. This time there is no saving Ram and it’s all over. Enigma wins the battle of finishers with Wildcat. Enigma calls Wildcat nothing but an imposter for copying his finisher. Wildcat is not bothered and says “maybe I did use your move as inspiration but I execute it better”. The bantering leads in the expected death defying tussle expected. Both are going for lots of top rope moves and going for it. Probably hinges on the first to miss a big move. Enigma shades it in the agility stakes and this helps him to victory. Gets the better of a grapple at the top of the ropes and within seconds seizes the chance. Crashes into Wildcat with FEET OF FURY. Outside Terak holds Mollock back from entering the ring. He hopes Wildcat’s new found stamina reserves will allow him to withstand the move. Unfortunately Wildcat got caught cold by it and there is barely a flicker. Darkos brags big in the aftermath and predicts this is the start of another run by Enigma. He targets IP gold again and doesn’t care if it’s Splatter or Max Shield holding the belt as he confidently says Enigma can beat both of them. The Watchmen see off Titan Wrestling but only just. Lord Nexus casts off his managerial role to wrestle again. He is buzzing after a recent dark show win over Janus and Heracles. Another win here could put the Titans right in the tag team mix. By contrast the Watchmen have been in free fall in 2102. Tocsin is polluting the air as usual. The foul air created by HAZARDOUS WASTE almost overcoming Ursa Major within the opening minute. The Titans battle back and it’s another brilliant show from them but unfortunately they cannot quite get the job done. Ursa Major has both Watchmen worried with lightening fast use of SHOTGUN CRADLE several times. Ultimately he is overwhelmed. A vicious Double Team Mallet leaves him in distress and a Painmaster Anesthetic immediately after ends his brave resistance. Max Shield beats Mesmer by count-out. This was an IP contender match. Max’s shield defense working perfectly for him to hold Mesmer off. Wasn’t easy though as Mesmer did try EVIL EYE on him and Max found his own MAXIMUM IMPACT twice unable to close things out. However it all works out for him in the end as he catches Mesmer with a devastating clothesline against the ropes. Mesmer sent tumbling and unable to recover. Max advances to the championship match having broken Mesmer’s unlikely run. Anger from within the Brotherhood as the Overlord pipes up and complains at the amount of matches Mesmer had to prove himself in. He was already the top contender when Max was put up against him but never got to cash in on the title shot. Might just have a point but seeing as the Overlord is so creepy and disliked nobody really cares.
Demons of Hydra too cunning for Sam’s Squadron. Justice gives a good account but US. Patriot not at his best. Adam surrenders meekly to THE FINAL ORACLE.

Card 742 – Mira Galaxy Dome:
(Splatter goes on a promo days before the show where he takes off his Interplanetary belt and smashes it repeatedly into a wall. He says he is improving its look and renaming it as the Hardcore belt. This was actually the name of an old title that was defended up under until a few years ago. He then wears it with all broken pieces and ‘Hardcore’ written in graffiti on it to his match with Max. Poor Max gets presented the broken belt when he wins it but is given assurances it will be repaired and restored to its former glory)
Max Shield beats Splatter to win the Interplanetary/Hardcore belt. Big night for Max. On the cusp of finally grabbing gold. Ever since entering the fed has been touted as a future champ but feels like it’s been a long apprenticeship. His team struggled at first but now they are flying. Very evident by the way Max started. No fearing Splatter’s wild ways and heading straight into it. Both are cramming the action in. Max pummels Splatter and then gets pummelled back. No clue as to what way it might go until Max pulls a sucker punch. Swivels round the back of Splatter and catches hold of a 360 neckbreaker. Splatter’s neck not only suffers trauma but the back of the skull smashes hard into the mat. Max quickly pins him and wins the title. Krakan watches in bewilderment from the outside and then smashes his rifle into side of the ring in anger. Been an awful card for his team. Max stands poised just in case the Hitmen try to get him in a revenge attack but Splatter is barely able to get himself out of the ring much less attack him. Satisfied there is no imminent danger Max allows himself to relax and celebrate. It is a richly deserved moment for Max. The dust has barely settled on it when questions are being asked about where the next challenge may come from. Enigma looks a likely contender but of course Mandrill may now suddenly take interest. Mandrill’s eyes are always on the Heavyweight belt but now Max has the IP belt it is sure to be on his radar. Might he go after himself (unlikely) or send one of his minions after it (likely)? Nefarus seems the natural choice but is not exactly boasting a win-loss record to be proud of since entering the GWF. Superiority Complex beat the Mercenaries in a non-title match. More bad blood here. Morpheus chooses moments before the bell to confront Krakan over the Hitmen singling out his team for lottery attacks. Krakan smiles and tells him to get his facts right. Says there is no specific targeting of his team and many other attacks have been carried out. Morpheus demands examples but is forced to back away as Krakan points his rifle under the chin. “Fine have it your way” is the response from Morpheus and he looks nervously over at Superiority Complex hoping they can punish the Mercenaries. Skinhead, in particular, has motivation to take them on as the last victim. He has a huge grudge match against Splatter coming and of course at GALACTICON will see Superiority Complex taking on Centaurus Cluster. A critical period of matches. If they go well Superiority Complex can push themselves right back near the upper echelons of the tag division. They don’t let Morpheus down tonight. Despite a difficult start and Soldier of Fortune coming close early after THE REVENGER on Prodigy they come through to win. Looking very much like the Superiority Complex of previous years as all the fast tags and exceptional teamwork are back. Most of the damage is done to Vigilante but it is in fact Soldier of Fortune who gets pinned. Skinhead rocks him with a Superior Slingshot. On Krakan’s order Vigilante tries to break things up before Skinhead can cover his partner. Attempting a clothesline from behind but Skinhead was already ahead of the game. He ducks and takes Vigilante out instead. Skinhead then moves straight back to Soldier of Fortune and deals BAD ATTITUDE to take the match. It’s a great return from injury for him and good to get some match action under his belt ahead of GALACTICON. Pegasus dominates Vanity. Reynard B. Guile being a nosey parker as he gets himself ringside masquerading as a guest commentator. He is trying to get a close up of Pegasus ahead of GALACTICON. Pegasus faces the Matador there and they are both leading the the MEGATOURNAMENT MVP race. It’s a massive battle and explains why Reynard is snooping. Naturally his presence irritates Pegasus who finishes Vanity off as quick as he can with a bone-crunching clothesline. He then calls Reynard out. When Reynard hides behind his microphone Pegasus comes out and physically manhandles him out the chair. Forces him into the ring and then presses him high into the air and holds the pose. Vanity thinks about getting involved but then a woman in the crowd catches his eye and causes a distraction, much to Maxine Babe’s annoyance. Instead Holocaust makes a run out but before he is able to reach the ring Pegasus presses Reynard out of the ring and straight into his path sending him toppling and leaving them both in a heap. Reynard won’t of learned much from all this other than that Pegasus is really pumped for the Matador.
Mandrill goes over Star Warrior by DQ. Surprising behaviour from Star Warrior as he goes hardcore and whacks Mandrill with a chair. He had just nailed a Tomahawk Thrust and sensed an upset victory. Gets frustrated as he goes to the top of the turnbuckle only for Mandrill to beg off and then roll out of the ring. Star Warrior jumps down and goes for nearest weapon which just happened to be a chair. When he hears the bell he snaps out of his momentary anger and draws a couple of breaths to compose. Mandrill loves getting inside people’s minds and leaves the match smiling to himself. His plan for GWF domination still turning itself over in his mind and giving him great joy imagining it.
Genesis Prime defeated Holocaust and Ram by DQ. Wraith gets riled during the match. Just about to finish off Ram after SUDDEN DEATH when Holocaust interferes. Could do easily of cost Genesis Prime the match. Fortunately they are able to fight back to a DQ win after Ram brawls outside the ring. Wraith wants to face Holocaust after this. To teach him a lesson for what he did.
Cannibal mauls Killer Queen. This has bubbled since Queenie got viciously caught up in Murderer’s Row attacking of the King’s Court at the press conferences. After this maybe Queenie will let the matter drop as he was brutalised. Left in a dribbling mess by THROAT SLIT.

Card 743 – COUNTDOWN TO GALACTICON – Io Coliseum:
Mayhem overcomes Janus to win the Heavyweight belt. Janus not feeling the GALACTICON atmosphere. Scoffs at his big title defense being relegated to the countdown card. Thinks he should be main eventing the pay per view on his own rather than be mired in a Battle Royal. He needs to get his mind on the task at hand though. Mayhem is hungry for blood and of course the title. He is a bit like his long time enemy, Wolf, in that respect. Has never cared too much about glory. Preferring to brawl and seeing the OTB Hardcore tournament as the biggest accolade. However having had a strong reign once with the main belt Mayhem’s desire to hold it again has always secretly burned. Probably to the annoyance of Vengeance. As leader of the Gladiators he will no doubt think he is higher on the pecking order. So far though Vengeance is not standing in Mayhem’s way. No doubt wary of triggering another Civil War. Instead choosing to make comments like “if any Gladiator wins any belt then it is an honour all of us have achieved and share”. Maybe Janus realises late in the day the importance of things and how it could be his last time with the belt and needing to make the most of it. For that reason he suddenly demands that a chariot be made available to him for a dramatic entrance. Quite how it was done and constructed at such short notice. But it is an entrance to behold. Even grander than anything his team colleague, Heracles, has done. Mayhem is totally unimpressed with this. The first thing he does when the battle commences is drag the action outside so he can smash Janus’s head into the parked chariot. He is taking a risk with getting disqualified with such moves. But that’s always been Mayhem’s way. Act first and think later. Of course Janus isn’t going to let a bump like that stop him. Has far too much in the locker and wrestles his way back. Keeps his heel tactics to a minimum as he wants to win by pin fall or submission. A way of cementing his status as a memorable champion rather than rely on cheap ways to keep hold of the belt. Morpheus is worried by this attitude. Realises the danger Mayhem possesses and the fact that this ref doesn’t seem too willing to let the main event match end in a DQ. He urges Janus to get this finished by any means possible but the call comes too late. Mayhem gets away with another violent move as he wraps a chain around his fist and punches Janus. Within moments he is perched at the top of the turnbuckle and nails LEAP OF DOOM (+6). Angered and desperate Morpheus removes his bow tie and puts himself into the ring but Mayhem just clotheslines him over the rope and back to where he came from. Nothing will save Janus now and Mayhem is crowned the new champion. Aftermath sees Morpheus going mad about poor refereeing. Pointing out that this was not a Titan Death match and Mayhem should of been disqualified several times over. Word from the GWF office is that they will look into the refereeing standards and deal with him internally but they cannot retrospectively change the decision. Mayhem is the new champ and that’s that. Chaos and Heracles too strong for Star Warrior and Pegasus. The Citadel guys form a team of considerable power and no shortage of arrogance. Chaos doesn’t care much for Morpheus and his MEGATOURNAMENT predicament. All he wants to do is look good and recapture Heavyweight gold and even still push for MVP glory. It’s all about him. Winning a match against Pegasus albeit in a tag environment will go a long way to building him back up. Heracles seems more than willing to help him achieve that goal. A cheer goes up as Omega leads his team out for the match. They always love it when Morpheus and Omega share the same space and hope they might roll back the years and grapple each other. Things get lit up before the bell even sounds as Omega stands in front of his guys but finds Heracles trying to attack him. Comes over and tosses his former manager from the ring like a piece of garbage. Star Warrior looks concerned for his father but relaxes when Omega gives him the thumbs up to signal he is ok. Relief turns to rage and he aims to punish the Citadel for that. Pegasus can see he wants to get stuck in and lets Star Warrior start the match. Star Warrior flies at Heracles but comes up against a brick wall and needs Pegasus to step in. Pegasus is a level above Star Warrior these days and steadies the ship . Once Heracles appears to be weakened he tags Star Warrior back in but perhaps it’s a mistake and they should of waited longer. Unfortunately Star Warrior comes a cropper again and gets absolutely pulverised with a running power slam. The ring shudders on impact. Heracles continues to massage the ego of Chaos by allowing him the chance to finish things off. Looking ominous as Chaos mauls Star Warrior and repeatedly grabs BOW OF DEFEAT. Fearing the worst Pegasus looks to Omega for approval to storm the ring. He gets a worried nod of approval but before he can even get through the ropes Heracles has come around the apron and grapples him. It leaves Star Warrior a sitting duck and he passes out in the rib crushing grip of Chaos. Amid loud heckling from the crowd the Citadel team stands court in the ring with Morpheus behind them. Star Warrior gets kicked out onto the floor and Pegasus is unable to re-enter as Morpheus threatens to stamp on and break his fingers if he does. Sensing nothing can be gained from taking things any further Omega calls his men off convincing them this is a battle to be finished on another day. Monad overcomes Holocaust with QUADRUPLE CLAMP. Old rivals face off. Although he started the stronger Holocaust is soon struggling and needs his manager at ringside to help him out. He cannot cope with the flailing limbs of Monad. Of course Reynard B. Guile, with being press slammed by Pegasus at the last show fresh in his mind, is hesitant to do so. Preferring to do his meddling from a safe distance. Eventually at the insistence of Holocaust he comes up onto the apron and starts attempting to remove a turnbuckle pad. The intention to then lure Monad towards him so Holocaust can then charge in with a turnbuckle smash straight into the exposed steel. Johnny Rocket isn’t about to let this happen and comes up behind Reynard whilst the act is happening and drives his microphone into the back. Reynard plummets to the ground causing Johnny to laugh and carry on speaking into his mic. But the last laugh is with Reynard. The weasel manager picks himself up off the ground where he was thought to be comatose. It’s his turn to come up behind. He grabs some tape from underneath ring and sticks it right across Johnny’s mouth. The stuff is so sticky that Johnny struggles to remove it and ends up tearing his recently grown goatee beard off with it. Holocaust gets caught out watching this pantomime and Monad manages to lock him up in his finisher whilst this happens. Perhaps he would of preferred Reynard had helped him out more rather than indulge in a petty revenge act on Johnny Rocket. Skinhead is in brilliant form against Splatter to avenge the lottery attack. Lots of moving parts to this feud. The fact that Morpheus and Krakan have never really seen eye to eye adding to the natural conflict created by Splatter’s supposed random lottery attacks. Then there is also the rivalry Superiority Complex has with the Hitmen due to their battles with the Mercenaries over the years. Of course at the last show Superiority Complex beat the Mercenaries in a non title match and Splatter lost the IP belt. So the Hitmen are wounded and looking to bounce back. This is often when they are at their most dangerous. However any attempt to repair the damage of those defeats take a setback here. Skinhead is absolutely inspired against Splatter. He gets on a run with BAD ATTITUDE unleashing four of them in a row. Even Krakan’s attempts to interfere go wrong as Skinhead takes him out. With Splatter weakened and bleeding Skinhead then executes a Superior Slingshot. It is more than enough to put Splatter down for good. Skinhead looks ready for his match with at GALACTICON where Superiority Complex will attempt to get back among the elite. Krakan has plenty to mull over now. Does he admit defeat in this conflict with the Citadel or keep pursuing it? He knows a huge feud with the Gladiators next year is likely to happen. He needs his men to be at their best with very little distractions if they are to stand any chance. An ongoing battle with the Citadel (whoever maybe at the helm then) will not be helpful. Buck Steele and Nefarus wrestle to a non-result in a spontaneous Lumberjack match. Nefarus takes precautionary measures by asking Mandrill to be at ringside. Buck initially thinks this is a chance to kill two birds with one stone but then suddenly things don’t bode well as Tocsin and Painmaster also emerge. The Colonizer team are looking to injure Buck before GALACTICON. Suddenly Wraith appears in the centre of the ring using his invisibilty to startle Nefarus and Vertigo zips through the crowds to join him. With the element of surprise with them Genesis is able to fight the Colonizers off. After a stand off that took several minutes Nefarus reluctantly agrees to get back in the ring. The ref tries to get members of Genesis and the Colonizers to leave but nobody backs down. Suddenly the fed up ref calls the bell to start the match. It’s an on the spot Lumberjack match. It takes a few minutes but Max Shield also joins his team to even the sides up. He hadn’t even been in the Coliseum when news of what was happening was broken to him and he had to make a mad dash to get there. He has already missed immediate drama. Buck transforms into Genocide in the first minute after Nefarus repeatedly stomps on his head. The blood drains from the face of Nefarus as he watches it happen. He then realises with Mandrill and the Watchmen watching outside that he better prove himself and not cower. So perhaps foolishly Nefarus goes for Genocide all guns blazing. He is quickly overpowered and struck by a series of deathjumps. Then a massive cheer as for the first time he goes for CORPUS GENOCIDE. But then disaster as Nefarus somehow gets out the way. It’s a massive shock and really hurts Genocide. All he can do is roll out the ring but it’s the wrong side of town. The Colonizers lay siege to him. Mandrill zaps Genocide with VOLTAIC STUNNER as the Watchmen hold his huge frame up. They then toss him back to be pinned. Nefarus covers him expecting a huge win but Genocide suddenly throws him off. Genocide surges back on offense but is clearly hurting. Nonetheless he keeps pounding Nefarus and a power bomb plus leaves him scrambling. This time Nefarus rolls out but it’s to the sanctuary of the Colonizers. Fed up with what they are seeing Max Shield leads the Genesis team to engage the Colonizers. A wild brawl breaks and the referee calls the match off. For what it’s worth Genesis gets the better of the brawl in the end as Genocide lays waste to all the Colonizers. Surely a rematch between Buck Steele/Genocide-Nefarus on the cards but this has setup the big meet of Buck Steele and Mandrill at GALACTICON perfectly. Nefarus will be a relieved man to of come through this with his reputation with Mandrill and his body still intact. Mutant beats Terak by count-out. As part of the GALACTICON build Terak moves away from his managers position to test himself against Mutant. He is trusting Mollock to watch his back. Takes a sinister turn as Mutant falls out the ring and his manager/handler, Cannibal, removes his bone belt and starts whipping it furiously. Controversial behaviour aimed at increasing its rage. Taken aback by the cruelty Mollock attempts to come to it’s aid. Terak joins Mollock as they force Cannibal to back off. Maybe they can take custody of the Mutant. However Mutant reacts viciously towards its helpers and bites Terak before darting back into the ring and retreating to a corner where it then nibbles on a turnbuckle. Terak’s little creature from the press conference then starts fluttering around ringside and is nipping at Cannibal. When it gets violently swatted away Mollock loses all control (again). Suddenly Terak is occupied with trying to calm Mollock down as ringside furniture is being flung and people look like they could be in danger. He manages to make some kind of primitive sound which soothes Mollock and restores order. Danger just about averted but trouble is Terak had to forfeit the match and lose by count-out. Come the Creeper-Mutant match Terak will not be making the same mistake. Mutant is just far too wild and primitive to be turned. Anaxis defeats Supernova in a Falls Count Anywhere match. GALACTICON prep for Anaxis. As the ladies challenger she has the same match against Amazonia coming with the belt on the line. Supernova fights her hard as this is a chance for her to make it on the big stage. She wants a part in this ladies war and of course is the designated feud rival of Anaxis. Really getting into the spirit of the match Supernova pitches Anaxis in and out of the ring using the props and spectacular moves. The first few minutes of the action seeing her totally dominate. A big victory looks imminent as the tokens rack up on Anaxis. However, Supernova is perhaps showing inexperience by not going for any pins and trying to close the match out. Anaxis keeps going and waits for a mistake. It comes in the form of a missed death jump. The miss takes it out of Supernova and now it’s the turn of Anaxis to dish out most of the offense. She is also not shy about using the match rules to her advantage too and a power bomb in one of the dressing rooms shows how aggressive she can be. Then she drags Supernova, by the hair, all the way back to the ring. Wants to finish her off in front of everyone. A punishing finishing sequence of an Anaxis Ax-Handle, Grecian Sleeper Grip and then CALL OF THE SIREN leaving Supernova motionless. Sam’s Squadron beat Thunder and Overkill by DQ. By Gladiator standards Thunder and Overkill have been quiet in last couple of months. Word is they are waiting for MEGATOURNAMENT to pass so they can commence a violent feud with the Hitmen. Sam’s team come into the match having really struggled (they kind of remind me of Titan Power all those years ago. Great team with moments of magic but prone to upsets and lacking expected success). The Gladiators are not the sort of opponents you want to be facing when low on confidence. Things don’t start too well. Justice makes the mistake of trying to punch it out with Overkill and comes off second best. Luckily for him Overkill, in a show of strength, throws him across the ring right towards his partner. Enables him to tag out but Adam is soon having to fight Overkill off after TURNBUCKLE TRAP. Sam looks concerned by it all and shouts encouragement only for Thrash to try a ballsy move by coming up behind and head locking him. Not wanting to be shown up by a women, even one from Aethra, Sam hoists her up and suplexes her back into the runway. He could forgiven for doing it as it was an act of self defense. The drama seems to inspire his men too for they start to get some rhythm going and make a fight of it in the ring. Adam ends up having a decent scrap with Thunder and in their fight for supremacy they both go over the top rope together and fall outside. Thunder then spots Commander Sam and seeks to punish him for hurting Thrash. Starts battering Sam. Overkill closes in too. The Gladiators are disqualified but Sam looks in trouble until Adam and Justice pick up the back packs they’d carried to ringside. They each take out replica rifles and use them to force the Gladiators backwards. Dramatic enough but a camera zooms in on one of the rifles and printed across the side were the words ‘Hitmen Property’. What was this? Could it be the Hitmen were helping Sam’s team out? It wasn’t all that long ago that the FDF were fiercely feuding with the Hitmen. Nobody is for a minute suggesting Sam and Krakan are now friends. But the reported animosity Krakan has towards the Gladiators might have been the reason behind a deal being struck.
GALACTICON 16 NEXT ... taken me a couple days to get halfway through card. Maybe a couple more to finish, write up and post

Thank you so much for the kind words. I so want to be up to date but at 34 years behind and given how long it takes me to do a game month don’t think I’ll ever get there! But I love playing and if I never get there so be it. Still buy all the latest editions as the writing from Tom is so good. I’ll check out your Fed as love reading retro stuff. Am finding 2102 to be a real fun year. Buck Steele coming in was fantastic

Card 744 – GALACTICON 16 – Io Coliseum:
Alpha Force wins a dramatic 12 Man MEGATOURNAMENT Battle Royal. The hero wrestlers dominated. The match also featured Wolf, Alpha Force, Max Shield, Raven, Chaos, Janus, Bishop Hell, Enigma, Splatter, Pulsar, Vengeance and Mayhem. The tale of the tape was as follows ... Alpha Force forces Mayhem out for the first elimination. It’s a frantic start as Janus goes straight for Mayhem as the loss of the Heavyweight belt riles him. In fact as the champ Mayhem becomes a marked man. Wolf soon piles into his longtime enemy swatting Janus away. He soon regrets this as Vengeance latches onto Wolf from behind with Eye Cleaver. The Gladiators gang up on him and Wolf is hit with DANGER ZONE inside the ring twice. He only just survives being the first casualty. In fact he can thank Chaos and Janus perhaps from bringing him back from the brink. Jealous of Mayhem and his possession of the belt they desperately want a piece of him. Alpha Force then joins them but of course Chaos soon turns on him. It seems in the early stages many of the attacks are random or not thought through. Mayhem and Wolf (already 4 fatigue tokens) probably could of been tossed out already had the pressure been maintained. In the end it is Mayhem who does go as Alpha Force fights Chaos off and applies Gamemaster Grip. Mayhem is still lent back against the ropes in pain and tumbled over them as the move is applied; Raven gets rid of Enigma as the second to go is much quicker. Being of small frame Enigma is probably out of his depth in this type of match. Raven knocks him with BROADSWORD and easily bundled him out the ring. Two down. Ten left; Raven is inspired after that elimination and instantly takes Bishop Hell out too. The Bishop is trying to be sneaky and conserve energy by staying out of the action. Raven spots him hiding near a far corner and rushes at him. Bishop Hell sees him too late and feels the full force of a clothesline. Ends up half over the rope and hanging on but Raven gives him a leg over and sends him plummeting to the ground below; Vengeance ensures Pulsar goes out to meet his enemy Bishop Hell. Despite being blasted by ACID RAIN he digs his heels in and resists Pulsar’s attempt to put him out. As Pulsar relaxes to call Wolf over for help Vengeance catches him cold and blindly tosses him out instead. Pulsar doesn’t have time to get angry by his elimination for Bishop Hell is still outside. The two of them clash and end up brawling up the runway and out of sight; Max Shield throws Splatter out. The two have a wild grapple as lingering heat over the IP belt exists between them. Max has Raven to thank for setting Splatter up for him; Max Shield gets bold after this and goes after Chaos. Looks like it might backfire as Chaos quickly overpowers him. Suddenly Chaos charges Max and goes down like a ton of bricks. Max’s defensive shield working for him at exactly the right moment. Amazingly Max hoists the big man out to a huge cheer. He needed quite a bit of help but will take credit for the elimination. Tellingly Chaos’s own team mate, Janus, did nothing to help him. His quest for personal glory meant he didn’t want to get involved. Halfway through now. Omega’s hero team in such a strong position with 4 guys left; Alpha Force stops Janus in his tracks. Engaging in a personal duel it looks like Janus is getting the best of it until Alpha Force reverses a move using the ropes. He then unleashed TOMAHAWK THRUST. Leaves Janus rocking and Alpha Force is able to then knock him out. In the background Wolf has started attacking members of his own team as well as Vengeance. It’s almost a free for all as the heroes will have start taking each other on now; Alpha Force also sees off Vengeance after TOMAHAWK THRUST again. Vengeance is totally outnumbered. Despite Wolf’s unpredictable attacks distracting some of the heroes he still stood little hope of lasting. Down to the final four and they are all heroes which strikes a positive chord with the crowd; Wolf, who is now bleeding, has an awesome grapple to oust Max Shield. Wolf looks dead and buried after an energy sapping figure four leg lock. Max then takes a risk and goes for a death jump. Anyone of the other guys could simply of pushed him backwards but choose not to do so. However, Max signs his own death warrant as Wolf makes one of his huge comebacks to get out the way of the move. Max hits the floor and is stunned. Wolf dumps him out and then explodes into action against Raven and Alpha Force; Alpha Force finally gets the better of Wolf. It’s just too much for Wolf to cope with in the end. Alpha Force has been the star of the show up to now and makes sure he is going to be one of the final two after nailing Wolf with ALPHA STRIKE. Interesting that Raven has got this far only providing two eliminations. He’ll need to post another one if he wants to win this thing. Raven and Alpha Force commence the final battle with a quick handshake and then lock up; Alpha Force doesn’t need long to overwhelm Raven and triumph in the big main event. He has the momentum with him and uses an Indian Death Lock to slow Raven right down. Alpha Force looks tired but this is the big opportunity. He pulls Raven up and seeks to send him over the rope. He nearly tumbles over himself but just about keeps his footing to to win. It’s an explosion of joy from Alpha Force as fireworks go up around him to signal the climax to a classic event. He deserved it after doing the most eliminations and reaching another level. Anyone who thought Alpha Force was finished after some patchy results in the last year is mistaken. Tag champs, the Mercenaries controversially beat Titan Fury in a cage match. Krakan reacted angrily to this booking after claims the Mercenaries are prepared to purposefully get disqualified to remain the champs which is why it had to be held in a cage. He says of the criticism it’s because as champions his team is there to be shot at. Such accusations come with the territory. He predicts putting the match in the cage will only make the suffering of the Titan team worse. Soon obvious that the Mercenaries are not about to play fair. Both tooled up with weapons as they enter the cage. The Titans when they come out are not happy when they see their opponents brandishing their rifles and refuse to enter the cage until this is sorted out. A stand off begins and the crowd grows restless. Not wanting this happening at the GWF showpiece event Commissioner Grogan comes down from the VIP area he is watching from. He speaks to the ring announcer who then proclaims that if the Mercenaries do not relinquish their weapons immediately then the match will be forfeited and along with it the tag team belts. Soldier of Fortune goes mad at hearing this. At first resisting attempts by officials to confiscate his rifle but eventually relenting as there is no way out of it. Both he and Vigilante are then frisked and other items are removed. Among them brass knuckles, bags containing powder and even a lighter. With all this out the way there’s finally a match to be had and what a thriller it was. Fully befitting the grand occasion. Near misses aplenty. Titan Fury so close to winning in the opening minutes as Rising Sun hits Vigilante with SUNSET SPECTACULAR. The Mercenaries just seem to be able to pull victories from anywhere these days. It looks as if they have got away with it as they come back and execute OPERATION: AMBUSH on Dragonmaster. Somehow he forces himself to stand and stop the Mercenaries. A titanic battle continues and the Titans are matching the Mercenaries move for move. Crowd is at fever pitch as Rising Sun takes huge risks to try and make the dream of winning the titles happen. Sadly it is not to be. Out of nowhere Vigilante produces a weapon the body searches didn’t uncover. A spare pair of knuckles and uses them to knock Rising Sun down. Then they target Dragonmaster again and OPERATION: AMBUSH again is too much for anyone to stand. The Mercenaries escape together on separate sides of the cage. Not a flicker of life from either Titan. Titles retained but what a travesty of justice. The Commissioner will be raging that the officials didn’t do their jobs properly and uncover all weapons. As with such controversies accusations of bribery surface but in this case it just seems a case that under pressure officials did their job too fast and missed something. Krakan later brags “told everyone it was a mistake to put this in a cage”. Falls County Anywhere match, Anaxis defeated Amazonia to win the Ladies belt. Time and time again the women of the GWF have proved they can mix it hardcore just as well as the men and this is no exception. Amazonia may have walked all over Thrash previously but she has struggled to contain the threat of Anaxis. Here we would finally get an outright winner. Amazonia would be wise to choose her path carefully with Heracles lurking around. His disrespect for women is well documented and she doesn’t want the action falling into the wrong area or room. Wolf is already in a contained area ahead of the big main event later and will be unable to assist her even if he wanted to do. Anaxis means business from the opening bell and doesn’t take long to take advantage of the match rules. Dragging Amazonia out and slamming her into the announcer’s table. She tries to take things up the runway and out of sight but Amazonia resists. Fearing what might happen if they are to disappear to the darkest reaches of the Coliseum Amazonia forces the action back towards the ring. Makes the briefest of comebacks but Anaxis just seems more confident and sharper in every area. Within no time she has pulled the action back outside and even gets a hold of Amazonia’s own shield to use against her. Doesn’t look good when Anaxis then uses CALL OF THE SIRENS in the runway. Even more effective as she uses the top of the crowd barrier rather than the ropes. Amazonia is flat out and Anaxis pins her in the runway right in front of everyone. She clasps the Ladies belt as Greek music fills the place and arrogantly holds it aloft. She then moves off quickly with it to show to her master, Heracles, and earn his respect. Even though she is the champion knowing the sort of man Heracles has become he will still expect to be waited on and continuing to treat her like a door mat. In fact he will derive greater pleasure from it knowing he controls the every move of the Women’s champion. The Matador beats Pegasus in a match where Massif was the referee. A critical match in the MVP battle. With double points on the line a chance for the Matador to get right back in it or Pegasus to gallop into the distance. Never a chance of the match beginning without any controversy. Accusations of attempted bribery from the CPC again. Their target is the referee, Massif. Nobody is sure what went on but Massif is refusing to say anything about it during the pre match interviews. Calls such talk undignified but his refusal to speak keeps people guessing. Maybe everyone has got a price? Omega speaks about this and tells Qualitar (somewhat nervously) “there is no way Massif would of taken any bribe. I’ve known him for over 15 years and he is one of the most honourable and straight men I’ve ever had the pleasure to of known. I consider him one of my closest friends”. Not one to miss an opportunity Qualitar suggests “so that means Massif will favour Pegasus in the match seeing as you are so close”. This draws a look of horror from Omega “I am surprised at you Qualitar for suggesting such a thing. This match will take place fair and square. The best man will win. Massif will see to that”. When the match finally arrives Massif is determined to stamp his authority early. He almost comes to blows with both guys before the bell even rings as they tire of his lecture about the rules and don’t listen. Even the crowd wishes he’d lighten up and let them get on with it. When the bell does eventually ring it is a surprising slow start as both guys jockey for position. Neither wants to make the first mistake given the importance. It takes several minutes for things to get going. The first big incident being when Pegasus tries to break the Matador’s momentum and roll outside for a breather. Massif promptly stops him much to the displeasure of Pegasus. Rather then argue it out pointlessly Pegasus wades back into the action and manages to stem the flow of attacks with a bone-crunching clothesline certainly catching the Matador’s attention. However the Matador isn’t about to let the MVP trophy disappear into the distance. Using his impressive technical abilities to counter act the power disadvantage. Pegasus may have greatly improved his skills but they still pale in comparison to the Matador’s. A lightening fast Running Torpedo virtually out of nowhere catches Pegasus out and almost gets him pinned. The Matador waits for Pegasus to stand and then hits BULLWHIP. Pegasus is absolutely stunned (as is Omega who is watching outside) and doesn’t react quick enough to the following cover. Massif pounds the mat a third time before Pegasus attempts a kick out. He’s a second too late. Massive win for the Matador but Reynard B. Guile almost wrecks his big moment as he chooses to try and act the big man and goad Massif. Challenges him to step back into the ring and forget all this referee nonsense what with it being obvious he is not a natural and prone to corruption. A fuming Massif threatens to reverse the decision on the spot and disqualify the Matador for such slander. Instead he chooses to back Reynard into a turnbuckle. Reynard is petrified and apologised profusely as Massif picks him up clean off the floor in a choke hold before dropping him back down in a heap. The drama doesn’t stop there. In a clear show that the Hitmen are disregarding the CPC lottery restrictions Splatter makes an appearance in the runway. The intention to attack the winner of the match. This would of meant the Matador was due for a beating. Not on Massif’s watch though. As soon as Splatter slides into the ring Massif grabs hold of him. Splatter doesn’t know what hit him as Massif tosses him into the ropes and executes a side slam before following up with VOLCANIC DROP and leaves him sprawled out. The Matador shoots Massif a moody stare as if to say “I don’t like you but I am grateful’ and then picks his way through the rubble and leaves the ring. Massif is left standing in the ring as the star of the match and gets an ovation from the crowd. Even Omega manages to swallow the disappointment of the outcome to applaud him before tending to Pegasus and also making a departure. Heracles crushes Colussus in a Lepus Stun Rod match. This meeting was inevitable. Ever since Colussus lost it at THE MEGA SHOW everyone has been waiting for this. Morpheus offers to be at ringside with Heracles instead of Anaxis to give a greater chance of victory. Amazingly Heracles refuses the offer as he finds his management style stifling. It is a kick in the stomach and perhaps an even bigger sign than the points deficit that the days of Morpheus are numbered. Once you lose the respect of the dressing room there is little chance of survival. Nonetheless there are loads of points on the line and whatever the fate of Morpheus with his own team he is still seated in the VIP area anxiously observing the match. He knows GALACTICON with all the points on line represents his last big chance to catch up to the Hero and Independent teams. The first big drama is the refusal of GWF officials to allow Anaxis to remain at ringside as it is expressly against the rules of the match. Heracles, who wasn’t about to let Anaxis rest up despite her big match later, rants at them for sending her away. He would have to now face Colussus on his own without any stunts to ensure he gets an advantage. Colussus is rubbing his hands to together. Cannot wait to get on with it. Unfortunately the match proves to be a disaster for Colussus. He gets completely battered and Heracles dominates use of the Stun Rod. Almost as if the light is rigged to only go off when he is on offense. Poor Colussus must of been struck with the rod about 5 or 6 times during the course of the match. Throw in OLYMPIA a couple of times and it’s clear to see why he was in big trouble. The repeated jolts also hurt him more than expected as they were causing unforeseen issues with the robotic side of his body. At one point Heracles has the rod and even though the light above the holster had gone off refused to return it. He should of been disqualified for such actions but got away with it. Repeatedly smashing poor Colussus with it before finally putting him out his misery and pinning him. Colussus was left a smouldering heap as parts of his body fizzed and crackled and he needed removing on a stretcher afterwards. Buck Steele/Genocide sends the crowd crazy by beating Mandrill in a Titan Death match. The most awaited match of the year finally has arrived. This is the one the fans have been requesting and after the dramatic scenes at COUNTDOWN TO GALACTICON between Buck and Nefarus and all the other team members things are red hot. It’s classic heel play from Mandrill at the start. Stalling tactics and constantly climbing out the ring anytime Buck comes after him. A frustrated Buck turns to the crowd and throws his arms up in dismay. Big mistake turning his back as Mandrill wastes no time in coming up behind him with a brutal knee to the lower back that leaves Buck gasping for breath. Within less than a minute he tries VOLTAIC STUNNER to finish it early. Mandrill covers Buck but is suddenly flung off and halfway across the ring. Genocide leaps up in Buck’s place. This is the worst possible thing to happen for Mandrill so early on. Perhaps he should of tried to use less damaging moves and gradually worn Buck down. Mandrill tries to charge at Genocide but just bounces off him. He looks as if he will be ripped apart after being picked up for a monster choke slam and knocked all over the ring. However Mandrill does manage to offer up some resistance for a while at least. Genocide tries to ram him into the turnbuckle but Mandrill got a foot up to stun him. From there Mandrill actually has a few minutes on top with his Colonizer Claw Grip being deployed several times. The crowd chants Genocide’s name and it has a stirring effect. Whilst snared in an elbow lock he smiles and simply overpowers Mandrill smashing him forcefully into the mat backwards. He then throws Mandrill into the ropes and sends him spinning with one of the most devastating clotheslines ever seen. Then finally it happens. Mandrill becomes the first successful victim of CORPUS GENOCIDE. It truly is up there with one of the most amazing finishers ever. Mandrill is crushed. The whole place goes wild but Genocide isn’t about to hang around. He takes off down the runway at breakneck speed and quietly returns to his former self. His team mates are waiting for him and once Buck is back and has control they hug him. The story doesn’t end there though. Not ones to accept defeat the Colonizers make moves on Buck at the after show. Buck is posing for photos just outside the plush night club venue for some fans when a noose goes around his neck. The kind used to snare wild beasts. Screaming fans scatter in all directions. Painmaster has a hold of it assisted by Nefarus. Even though Genocide predictably appears as a reaction to this they are able to control him. He is continually poked with a stun rod until he falls semi conscious. Then they do Mandrill’s dirty work for him by repeatedly slamming Buck/Genocide’s head into the concrete ground. Max Shield and Wraith quickly get wind of this inside the club and rush out to assist. All they find is a bloodied Buck and get various eye witness accounts. A concerned Vertigo joins them and insists on accompanying a recovering but very groggy Buck to hospital. Buck still wants to attend the party and tries to go into the nightclub but Vertigo eventually wins the argument pulling rank as team leader of Genesis. Theatre of Pain overcome Generation X in Titan Death match action. Metalhead and Grunge came out to a new rock song. It’s a catchy beat. Johnny calls it part of a change in attitude. New song, new goals. Generation X are ready to knuckle down and deliver Johnny his first titles. Their opponents had been kept under wraps til the very last minute. The Theatre of Pain probably not what they were expecting. When he sees them Johnny tells his guys they’ve got it in the bag but he’d do well not to underestimate them. He then gets into an argument with the referee who reminds him this is a Titan Death match and sends him away from ringside. For most of the bout it doesn’t look like they need him. Generation X is dominant and Comedy beats the brunt of most of it. He is up to 5 tokens and barely hanging on. However Generation X don’t reckon on how powerful and brutal Tragedy is. They struggle to cope with him once Comedy makes the hot tag. Tragedy pulls his team back from the brink and ends up initiating SHAKESPEARE on Grunge which leads into the win. When Generation X recovers themselves Grunge looks around the Coliseum and shouts “stuff this. We are off to the nightclub. Get an early start on the free booze”. Vyper wins a strange contest over Mad Jester. Great start as Mollock and Terak accompany Vyper out. Mollock dressed for the occasion as he is sporting a bow tie. The fans love it and Mollock seems quite pleased. However Colby and Pelf dampen the mood insisting only one of them can be at ringside and urged the ref to send Mollock to the back. Terak immediately argues that is unfair because both Colby and Pelf count as two and if that happens then one of them should leave too. Colby then tried to butter the ref up by flashing some cash. The ref pauses for a moment before throwing the money back in Colby’s face. He shouts “this ref is not for bribing. Everyone stays. Now ring that bell”. That was a bit close for comfort as everyone thought the ref would fold to Colby’s demands. Match is a very bizarre one centred more around psychological warfare than any actual wrestling. Within the opening couple minutes Jester jumps outside the ring and taunts Vyper saying that he knows his phobia and produces a mystery box containing it. Vyper is sweating buckets as Jester comes near him with it. He smells the danger. Suddenly Jester empties the box to reveal ... absolutely nothing. Vyper stands gobsmacked as Jester then yanks his wrestling pants down causing him to fall over. Tears of laughter go through the crowd and Vyper is humiliated as he wrestles to pull them back up. As soon as recovers his composure Jester is able to trap him in the ropes for A DEAD MAN’S VERSE. Vyper looks cooked but at the last second remarkably manages a kick out. Jester gives a shocked giggle and turns away. He then jumps outside the ring again and scrambles about underneath looking for something. It’s his barbed rattle but then Terak calls out “looking for something?” and we can see Mollock standing there holding it. No way Jester was going to try and get that back now. He returns to the ring but little does he know that Vyper is back on his feet and pumped up after that little humiliation. He unloads VYPER’S SIDESHOW and even though it doesn’t immediately yield joy another one very shortly after does. Jester is left semi-conscious but somehow still giggling away. Vyper and Terak win the psychology battle. Although we never did find out what Vyper’s secret phobia is. Colby and Pelf look unimpressed with what they’ve witnessed and now having now spent two consecutive matches at ringside look tired of being there and near the peasants. They long to return to the grandeur of their private VIP box and make a hasty exit the moment the match ends. Centaurus Cluster overcome Superiority Complex by DQ. Lots more riding on this than at first glance. Superiority Complex have been looking up at other tag teams for quite a while but a recent non title match win over the Mercenaries has changed quite a bit for them. A follow up win here at the magnitude of this event can thrust them right back among the top contenders. Of course it’s massive for Centaurus Cluster too. Their first GALACTICON and a growing reputation. It’s very possible the next challengers to the tag titles could come from the winner of this match. Initially it’s very even steven until Archon gets into the groove with his dangerous submission style. Skinhead is the one in trouble. He knows if he doesn’t get out of the ring quickly Archon will just keep wearing him down. Manages to drag himself near to Prodigy whilst locked in ELBOW HYPEREXTENSION. With his spare arm he reaches for the tag that might just save him but is just clutching for thin air. Prodigy cannot reach him. Morpheus knows Skinhead is probably toast and enters the ring. Of course Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf make sure the ref is aware of the foreign object being held by Morpheus. A weak effort to conceal it by putting it back in his pocket is quickly uncovered and a disqualification verdict is reached. The Zodiac taste success against Titan Wrestling. Titans trying to keep a great month going but unfortunately just come up short. Not for want of trying. Ursa Major coming desperately close to beating Gemini with SHOTGUN CRADLE. The Zodiac is able to battle back and eventually beat Ursa Major with SIGN OF THE ZODIAC. Aftermath sees Lord Nexus admit his fading ring skills were to blame and he held Ursa Major back. Not that Ursa Major ever thought that. He is still the enthusiastic guy who cannot believe to be a part of the Titans. Everytime he steps into the ring with Lord Nexus, win or lose, it is an honour. Despite the win all is not well in the Brotherhood as Mesmer says that he has greater plans beyond this team for next year. Gemini stands shoulder to shoulder with him nodding. The Overlord refuses to believe his team might be crumbling very soon and continues to claim, or should I say chant, “all is well in the Brotherhood”. Death’s Head beats a twitchy Jack of Diamonds by DQ. Mad Jester messing with their heads before the match. Projects a hologram of himself into the ring and says “sorry I couldn’t be here. Got a snake to sort out later” and then hundreds more of him appear all over the Coliseum each cackling. Louder and louder until one of the speakers blow causing screams. Then just as suddenly as he appeared was gone. Jack looks a bit perplexed by it all. Death’s Head obviously not quite so disturbed for he tears into Jack taking advantage. Jack never looked settled after that start. Finds himself hit with FUNERAL MARCH. Just about hangs on but rolls outside. Feeling threatened by Cannibal stalking near him grabs hold of a chair and gets himself disqualified despite not actually swinging it. Cop out from the ref. He surely could of given this more time. The Creeper defeated Mutant by DQ after it went nuts. The fans don’t want to miss a minute of this. It’s a classic retro feud between these two unintelligent creatures. What’s more nobody shows up at ringside to spoil this opening treat. Sadly the match is only a few moves old when it had to be ended. The Creeper falls out of the ring after a running clothesline. Mutant goes to follow but several fans were taking pictures of the match close ups. The flashing spooks Mutant and it gets crazy trying get over the barriers to attack. It doesn’t get very far as security intervene very quickly but it means the match is over. Hope the rest of GALACTICON is better because this opener has bombed.
