Card 783 – Ganymede Stadium:
(Building towards FESTIVAL OF FIRE when No Fear and Lords of Fire clash. The two teams square off in singles matches. Nobody can believe that Archon is still trying to wrestle. It’s going against all medical advice. Already he is a shoe-in for winning ‘Inspirational Wrestler of the Year’) Tag Team Tournament Second Round:
Genesis Prime spring a huge surprise in beating New Order. The great thing about this is the match guarantees at least one hero team will be in the final. However Genesis Prime are still having problems with the jealous Watchmen. Luckily for them Blizzard is still skulking about at the venue and seeks to see them off with his ice balls. New Order also assists in a noble move backed by Destructon 3000. Turns out they didn’t want to be winning their possible place in the final just because their opponents were injured. The Watchmen are forced to quickly abandon their plans. Mandrill doesn’t like other teams sticking their noses into Colonizer business and later challenges New Order to a match on behalf of the Watchmen. Perhaps New Order should of stayed well out of it all because not only did they upset the Colonizers but they also ended up losing a close match as Genesis Prime surprisingly goes a step further and into the final. Mace looked like he had it in the bag after MACE’S LITTLE HELPER against Vertigo but Wraith shows no gratitude for earlier as he uses his invisibility to keep his partner alive. You could almost see the steam coming out of Mace’s ears and he lost all composure. It gave Vertigo chances to comeback and MOTION SICKNESS left them feeling sick.
X-Termination marches into the final after defeating the the Mercenaries. The incredible winning streak of X-Termination continues. Grunge shows how deadly serious the team is about becoming champs “we ain’t been to a party or had an alcoholic drink in at least 48 hours”. Such fine tuning of their bodies clearly having an incredible effect. Although Sleeze has to withstand a devastating opening salvo from the Mercenaries they come out as winners as METALHEAD MAULER does the honours again. Vigilante was the the victim. Sets up a totally unexpected final as X-Termination now set to take on Genesis Prime for the belts.
Regular Matches: Blazing Skull feels the burn as he beats Pulsar by DQ. Nothing like a fired up interview to get the blood pumping. Pulsar is so worked up he ends up deafening poor Qualitar. All Qualitar did was remind Pulsar of how dangerous Blazing Skull is and that he has an impressive win-loss record. To which Pulsar grabs him and shouts right in his face “impressive? Those are mere rookie numbers. Blazing Skull and his lackey Bishop Hell are a couple of scumbags who like playing with fire. Well tonight Blazing Skull’s record is going up in flames”. It certainly sets the mood of the match and it’s a wild one. Blazing Skull takes it hardcore almost immediately. Most of his attacks are violent moves rather than wrestling holds. Suplexes on the outside show how far he wants to take it. But Pulsar never gives in and even when BURNING TOUCH is applied he forces himself to hold on. The longer things go Pulsar is given a wider window of opportunity to throw ACID RAIN. Eventually he manages to unleash his illegal finisher and the crowd goes rightfully mad for it. However it’s one act of violence too far for the ref to take. Pulsar is pumped again for the post match shakedown with a nervous Qualitar, he shouts “I don’t care that I lost. I hope that really hurt Blazing Skull. Using ACID RAIN against such evil villains gives me a buzz. Just seeing him clutch his face and scream in agony. My god that was satisfying!” Archon shows incredible spirit to battle to a DQ win over Bishop Hell. There’s always a deep sense of foreboding when the Lords of Fire take to the ring. The latest stunt is Bishop Hell trying to ignite Archon’s bandages with HELLFIRE during the bout. Archon had incredibly survived the move and also FLYING CROSS defying his injuries and high pin rating. This final attempt to flame Archon led to Bishop Hell being disqualified. Maleph was not only intimidating but also annoying throughout. Constantly flying into the rafters and back down. With every swoop it looks like he might attack Archon or even members of the crowd. Finally Maleph does make a move as he flies in and grabs the ref hoisting the poor fella right off the floor and several feet in the air. Gets dropped right into the crowd and Maleph enjoys the carnage and fear he has caused. It is his way of telling the ref he was unhappy with the DQ decision. Later Grogan issues a fine but Maleph and the Lords of Fire thrive on such things. Maleph doesn’t like giving interviews and simply says “if the GWF are already giving us fines it shows we are doing something right”. Wolf rips Nefarus apart. In a dramatic stunt borrowed from the days of Bounty Hunter we see a cage setup just by the entrance dropped onto Wolf who is caught napping. Nefarus walks casually up to the trapped Wolf and shoots some kind of stun beam at him and calls him a pathetic caged animal. With nowhere to go Wolf is hit and yelps in pain. Nefarus then strolls to the ring and urges the ref to start so he can take a count-out win. What he didn’t count on was Buck Steele or more precisely Genocide making an incredible rescue. Buck had seen what was going on and got Blizzard (with whom he had reconciled backstage) to fire a series of ice balls directly at him to trigger the transformation. Genocide comes out to great fanfare and manages to bend the thin metal bars just enough so that Wolf can escape. Nefarus trembles as Wolf bursts forth and heads to the ring. It’s a delayed fuse but when Wolf blows he does it big time. After starting the match in his usual style Wolf suddenly howls and ramps up the hardcore attacks. The ref lets him get away with a lot and Nefarus gets his face planted into posts and tables. It’s a brutal battering and only gets worse after Nefarus dares to break out of SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Anyone making that move look weak is always going to pay. Wolf reacts with a vicious face rake with his claws out and Nefarus bleeds visibly from his forehead. No way he can take much more of this. Finally Wolf executes a spine shuffering atomic knee drop and it’s the straw that breaks the camel’s back. Nefarus collapses into a heap and Wolf pins him on the spot. The Watchmen easily overcomes Blizzard and Buck Steele. What a combination Buck and Blizzard could be. Two ticking time bombs on the same team. The Watchmen are confident of dealing with them though and Painmaster has that recent incredible victory over Genocide. He certainly isn’t letting Buck Steele forget that. That was a big blow for Buck but he welcomes this match and sees it as an immediate chance for revenge. Unfortunately he gets nowhere near getting it. Match doesn’t go long at all as Tocsin overwhelms Buck and finishes him quickly with HAZARDOUS WASTE. No sight of Genocide. For the first time since bursting onto the GWF scene Buck is in a slump. Blizzard doesn’t do his confidence any good either. In keeping with his unpredictable hot head attitude he blames Buck for costing the match and angrily storms off.
NEXT STOP BRYMSTONE, the crowd will be teeming with the usual undesirables all hoping to see as much as violence as possible. Can the GWF cope in such a lawless environment.

Card 784 – FESTIVAL OF FIRE 3 – Brymstone Battle Dome: (Probably a few less ‘big’ matches than is normal for a pay per view show. The reason is because quite a few wrestlers are still not keen to be competing on Brymstone. Alpha Force, for example, is somebody that steadfastly refuses to go there ever again. Of course Commando Sam cannot help but jump on such comments and calls him a spineless coward. The locals go the extra mile to make things really intimidating. At the entrance to the runway there is a ring of fire that wrestlers must walk through and there are bones scattered about all over the place. These could easily become weapons in many of the matches)
Heavyweight Champ, Chaos, keeps the belt against Janus by the skin of his teeth. Chaos has been back to bulldozing the opposition for a few months now. The plan is for Janus to become just another statistic in this winning run. However there are signs of improvement from the CPC. Although the Matador has been faltering Terminus has brought gold in the form of the IP belt in record time. If Janus succeeds here then they will suddenly have possession of both major singles belts. It will also vindicate his decision to leave the Citadel/Stormtroopers. Chaos brags Janus is a weakling who cannot stand up to him and prepares to crush his pathetic body with BOW OF DEFEAT. There is immediate drama as Chaos walks through the ring of fire but he is so tall that the top of his head comes into contact with the flames and a robotic bird has to swoop and douse the flame. Chaos doesn’t even flinch and continues his journey to the ring. As he awaits Janus he surveys the surroundings of the ring and says something to Sam. Instantly Sam walks round and kicks all the bones underneath the ring so these will not be used against Chaos as weapons. When Janus finally emerges after keeping Chaos waiting the crowd make it clear who they are behind. Janus by associating with Reynard B. Guile has made himself unpopular. In fact the crowd tries to throw missiles at Reynard the whole time he is at ringside. Something I didn’t think would ever say but Reynard is brave to stay out there and withstand the abuse and intimidation. Inside the ring the former team mates finally lock horns and it becomes a rocky road for Chaos. His famed Alpha Stone lets him down very early by fading and never flickers back into life. Janus takes full advantage and dominates Chaos for a long period. His period of domination finally culminating in GORDION KNOT. Commando Sam panics and storms the ring. Janus shouldn’t of let himself get distracted by him but such is his disdain for Sam he releases the hold and grapples Sam. He performs Champion Super Drop on him. Reynard B. Guile laughs but very quickly the smile is wiped from his face as Chaos makes the most of the break in play. Manages to come up behind Janus and smash him. Not wasting anytime he begins applying BOW OF DEFEAT. By the third time he throws Janus down and stands on him for the victory. Tag Team Tournament Final
X-Termination defeated Genesis Prime to become the new tag champs. Johnny Rocket comes out first and is completely full of it (despite taking an earlier pounding from Mace). Announcing into the mic that everyone should give the future tag team champions a standing ovation when they emerge. He then gets a shock as he walks into an invisible wall on the runway and Wraith crystallises in front of him. Wraith rips the mic out of his hands and Johnny scampers. He isn’t about to be allowed to spoil this final with managers being banned from ringside. Johnny never showed up again and is rumoured to of ended up in the clutches of the New Order. Angry at the mistreatment of their manager X-Termination rushes out ahead of their official announcement. Vertigo then zips into the action and the match gets underway in the runway. Soon becomes clear that Genesis Prime is showing a bit of wear and tear from their road to the final. Vertigo, in particular, is struggling and takes some meaty punishment including a whack from one of those bones laying about. The ref is under instruction to try and ensure a clear finish if possible what with it being the final. At one point he’d of been within his rights to DQ both teams for a brawl which would of caused a logistical headache. Vertigo did well to hold on as long as he could and managed to get Wraith into the action for a long period so he could recover. However he probably injected himself back into the match sooner than he should of and found himself in trouble again. As X-Termination subjected him to HEADBANGER’S BALL there was no way back. Sleeze and Grunge cap their incredible run of form with the tag team belts. Nobody saw that coming at the start of the year.
Ladies champ, Supernova, lost to Amazonia by controversial DQ. Ms. Liberty continues to be a pillar of support for her best friend Supernova. Tonight instead of challenging her for the title she is watching her back at ringside. Partly because she wants to help her but also because the match is here on Brymstone and wants to help protect her. She knows that Supernova didn’t really want to come back here but has to make a defense of her title or lose it. Amazonia doesn’t kick up any fuss and understands the reasoning but warns Ms. Liberty that she better not try and interfere. An amazing match takes place that is so closely matched that it’s unreal. Amazonia looks like she might finally end Supernova’s long belt run (currently 36 cards) after AMAZON ATTACK. Supernova somehow kicks out and fights back hard. Really no way of telling how this might end but Thrash suddenly piles into the ring. In a desperate bid to win favour back on Aethra she seeks to demonstrate Aethran superiority by attacking Amazonia and then Supernova. Poor Ms. Liberty had been caught unaware outside the ring and taken down from behind. The bell instantly goes off as Thrash goes for Amazonia with a spike. Out of nowhere Supernova sprints across the ring and expertly kicks the weapon out of her hand. It flies somewhere into the grateful and eerie crowd. Then Supernova and Amazonia link up to send Thrash packing. Even Ms. Liberty, who had taken a while to clear her head, joins in. Great match, frustrating outcome. Rematch inevitable. Lords of Fire vanquish No Fear in a cage match. This is the match the majority of the the crowd has been waiting for. Very few wrestling fans outside of Brymstone have dared to make the trip so it’s virtually 100% support for the Lords of Fire. The mood certainly changes. Much of the demonic screaming and letting off of fireworks stop and for the first time tonight there is some peace. Every eye is fixed on the cage as it comes up from floor and clicks into place. Then almost as if flicking a switch the incredible noise kicks in again. Barriers bulge as No Fear makes their way to towards the cage. Memories of Crossfire play on the mind of Archon. He looks emotional and almost in a daze as he enters. Pulsar has to slap him hard to wake him up before the Lords of Fire come out and toast him. No such emotion on the faces Blazing Skull and Bishop Hell. Both wearing evil smiles as they make their entrance and prepare to introduce their opponents to their very own version of hell. Before they’ve even got through the door Pulsar and Archon, who has now snapped out of his trance, are on them. Viciously attacking and it’s several minutes before the match settles into anything and only two of them are grappling in the ring. With Archon’s injury problems being magnified in a cage (adding 4 to his pin instead of the usual 2) Pulsar carries most of the burden on his shoulders. The plan is for Pulsar to build the offence to level 3 and then let Archon come in with his submission style and variety of finishing holds. However Pulsar just can’t get that far. Blazing Skull and Bishop Hell are switching tags quickly and preventing any momentum being built against them. Pulsar tries to play to his strengths and use the ropes and turnbuckles but keeps on getting countered. The fatal move being when he threw Bishop Hell at a turnbuckle but as he charged in got a knee in the face and then instantly planted into the cage side. He was then placed in the centre of the ring barely standing and Bishop Hell dived at him with FLYING CROSS. Rather than take the escape route Bishop Hell covers Pulsar and signals the ref to make the count. Archon has never been one to run in and make pin saves and wasn’t about to change the habit of a lifetime. He watches forlornly as Pulsar fails to kick out and the match is lost. The baying crowd now call for the Lords of Fire to set their opponents ablaze. Blazing Skull and Bishop Hell move towards Archon who is trapped in a corner. Looks ominous as they close in. Then in a dramatic rescue Pulsar manages to get to his feet. He grabs both their shoulders to spin them round and throws ACID RAIN directly into their faces. Both Bishop Hell and Blazing Skull are blinded and walk into cage side in unison before falling to the floor clutching their faces. Pulsar taps Archon and beckons him to follow him to the far end of the cage where they climb out together for a massive symbolic victory. The hostile crowd throw missiles at them as they straddle the top but most miss the mark. Somehow No Fear emerge as winners despite officially losing the match. To leave the Lords of Fire in agony inside the cage meant more than the actual outcome itself. Elimination match, New Order and Eagle comfortably beats Holocaust, Brainstorm and Johnny Rocket. The planned full WAR-Rocketmen match gets shelved as X-Termination unexpectedly makes the tag team tournament final. Johnny Rocket dons his wrestling suit again to make up the numbers. No way he can be happy about that but if the night ends with X-Termination winning tag gold it might just be worth taking the pain inevitably coming his way. Brainstorm tells Johnny not to worry about having to wrestle. He thinks he has got it all worked out “I will expose the weaknesses of the WAR team with my superior brain”. They certainly get off to a good start winning the first fall. Story of the match ... Holocaust eliminates Eagle. Anyone who thought Eagle would get a touch of stage fright and surrender meekly is mistaken. He has an epic battle with Holocaust which enhances his rep. Holocaust overloaded against him and then needs saving from his team after DEADLY DESCENT. Holocaust just about recovers from that wobble to eventually beat Eagle with SHOCKWAVE (+6); Dreggs takes down Brainstorm in an exciting second fall. Brainstorm looks like he could pull off a surprise. He performs HITTING THE BOOKS twice against Dreggs. Finally New Order gets its act together and start really punishing him. Only a brawl saves Brainstorm after DECIMATION. However the beating continues and Brainstorm not wanting to take too many hard hits and risk damaging his brain takes a walk and gets counted out; Mace batters Johnny Rocket. Ideally the New Order wanted to get Johnny all alone in the ring at the end but instead he goes out second for his team. Gets knocked from pillar to post before Mace performs a top rope move on Johnny that takes all the wind out of him. It’s 2 on 1 now and New Order will fancy their chances of taking Holocaust down; Dreggs pins Holocaust to win the match for WAR. Outnumbered and tired Holocaust doesn’t last too long. MACE’S LITTLE HELPER twice leaves him in bad shape and Dreggs polishes him off via TWIST AND SHOUT.
Pegasus and Colussus labour to victory over Superiority Complex in a Titan Death match. Superiority Complex has plenty of ammo at the start and are looking to bounce back fast after their poor effort in the tag team belt tournament. They are also wanting to show that two top singles guys thrown together are no match for a seasoned tag team like them. Poor Colussus was getting hit from all angles initially. It takes Pegasus getting tagged in to steady the ship. His greater power means he is better equipped to absorb the fast moves of Superiority Complex. After this things settle down and in truth despite the contest looking good on paper it lacked incident. Neither team was able to get on top for very long. As the bout ticked past ten minutes something finally happened. Both Skinhead and Pegasus collided after a turnbuckle charge and they went down. After what seemed an age Pegasus got up first. Seeing Skinhead still down he spurned the chance to tag and went for a death jump and came down with a powerful elbow. Then it was time for PROJECT PEGASUS. With Prodigy being detained by Colussus there was no saving Skinhead. It’s a crushing loss for Sam’s Stormtroopers as they lose more ground on the Champions team. Soldier of Fortune brutalises Thunder in a Barbed Wire Cage match. The feud between the Hitmen and the Gladiators is constantly evolving. This match takes the form of a brutal barbed cage match between two guys who are better known for their tag exploits. It’s fair to say that Soldier of Fortune needs the win more than Thunder. The Hitmen have struggled against the Gladiators and don’t want to fall back too far too early. Just as well Soldier of Fortune is in incredible form here. There is no messing about with 5 pin attempts in the space of the opening couple of minutes (including THE REVENGER twice). Nobody has ever seen a Gladiator manhandled in quite this manner before. Thunder is easily finished off after this opening salvo by being driven face first into the barbed sides and left bleeding heavily (injury length 2 cards).
Stun Rod match, Wolf makes one of his classic comebacks to beat Ram. Mandrill sending Ram to do his dirty work again. Perhaps he is worried by Wolf’s recent surge back to form or just didn’t fancy the trip to Brymstone. Whatever the reason it is a chance for Wolf to get revenge against Ram. He’d love nothing more than to stick that electrified rod down Ram’s throat. Since suffering a shock loss to Ram in a cage match Wolf has won 3 singles matches in a row (Nefarus, Heracles and Dark Justice) and looks hungry. Despite Wolf’s energy and form Ram isn’t going to just roll over. He saw plenty of the rod and had an interesting time with RAM CHARGE (three attempts and two misses). The final time he missed it was critical as Wolf threw him back in the ring and pounced on him with SAVAGE FACE CLAW to get the win. Ram must now go back to Mandrill and face the music for failing to win. He will be flogged as a matter of course by Painmaster.
Jack of Diamonds destroyed Mad Jester in a Castor Chain match. Jack’s first match without the IP belt. Word is that he wants to try and get it back ASAP but his father, Exo-King, reminds him that he needs to be concentrating on this huge test and surviving SUDDEN DEATH. That’s more important than belts at the moment. Jester won’t be sidetracked that’s for sure. Amid the kookiness he will not stray from his goal. Although he seems to have many enemies at the moment Jack is always top of his list. Whatever Exo-King said to Jack must of had a huge effect as he ended up completely destroying Jester. After hitting BLACK DIAMOND in the first 30 seconds he never looked back. Jester clung on for quite a while and built up the tokens but offered nothing in the way of offense. Jack even got hardcore and used the chain to help him before eventually executing a bridge suplex to pin him. Jester will be kicking himself for losing this one. If ever there was a time that Jack may of been distracted or vulnerable this was it.
Terminus stumbles to victory over Kati in a non title match. Terminus showboating big time. He’s got a replica AFW belt over one shoulder and the IP belt on the other one. Reynard proudly boasts to the crowds that “here is the greatest champion of all time”. In match itself Terminus is dragging his heels to finish it off. Even has to kick out after being hit with SAMOAN REVENGE. Eventually catches Kati in a backward head slam to close things out. He didn’t look much like the greatest champion ever tonight. Typically Terminus passes the buck and blames all the media attention that’s been going on that prevented him from training.
Wildcat and Terak have Cannibal and Death’s Head for breakfast. Over in under a minute. Cannibal never knew what hit him as Wildcat goes of the offensive. A few quick moves culminating in WILDCAT STRIKE gives the Savage Kingdom major bragging rights. Vyper beats Cycle Hog by count-out. Vyper has some troubles with Hog. Nearly got caught out going for a moonsault. He was shifting his weight to try and get Hog to topple over. Hog resists and then sits on him hard nearly getting a shock win. Vyper somehow survived and ended with a count-out win after he threw Hog out of the ring.

GWF REPORT (SUDDEN DEATH 2103 CARDS 781 - 784)
Champions * GWF Galaxian Champ: Chaos (Top Contender: Wolf) * GWF Tag Champs: X-Termination (Top Contenders: The Mercenaries) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Terminus (Top Contender: Wildcat) * GWF Ladies Champ: Supernova (Top Contender: Amazonia) Latest News: US. Patriot is falling in love with the idea of being a champion again. With recent wins over Dark Justice and no tag team gold to pursue he thinks a shot at the IP belt held by Terminus is on the cards but Grogan says no. Adams says the Commissioner is abusing his power by stepping in at the last minute to veto his title shot. Grogan is furious when he hears this and looks like he might suspend Adam. Omega has to do a lot of begging behind the scenes to smooth this over. It’s all very strange but maybe Grogan is feeling bad for letting Terminus harass him into an undeserving title shot previously and is trying to take a hardline stance again. Although he does seem to have a soft spot for the CPC wrestlers what with Janus also getting a shot at the Heavyweight belt when many unofficial rankings lists had Colussus down as the #1 contender. This comes hot on the heels of some pretty harsh treatment of Exo-King so it’s no surprise that questions are being asked. Grogan still has a few supporters in the media though and some say that everyone should lay off criticising as he has had to juggle a lot of stuff in recent months.
Perhaps the biggest news to come out of the month was Painmaster cleanly defeating Genocide. All the odds were against Painmaster. It was a Brass Knuckles match which suited Buck anyway and of course the change to Genocide (which happened quite early) meant Painmaster should of stood no chance. However Painmaster fought the match of his life and showed everyone that Genocide can be beaten. Mandrill praises Painmaster and it calls it a major Colonizer victory. Deep down though he will probably feel sore that it wasn’t him responsible for finally defeating Genocide.
The Colonizers were also in the news for the way that the Watchmen repeatedly tried to attack Genesis Prime during their tag tournament run to the final. The thought of Genesis Prime holding the belts made Mandrill feel physically sick. However once Genesis Prime actually reached the final the Watchmen suddenly left them alone. Mandrill’s reasoning at the time that maybe his team needed to take a bullet and hope Genesis Prime won the belts. That way the Watchmen as chief feuding rivals might get a shot at them and have a greater chance of securing the belts themselves. Mandrill is not stupid and knows it would be a lot easier getting the belts off Genesis Prime than it would say the Mercenaries or the Gladiators. Unfortunately even that backfired as Genesis Prime ran out of steam and lost out to X-Termination who became the new tag champions instead.
Dreadnaught becomes the first victim of CANNIBAL’S RUN. The beating put him straight in hospital as Draconian Sheik tore strips out of him with a sharp object. The calls for Dreadnaught to retire after this increase but he continues to refuse. Cannibal’s motley crew get away with the attack after the dopey referee fails to officially report the incident. Red tape means that the Commissioner is unable to take disciplinary action.
GALACTICON 17 not too far off. So far there is a drip feed of info but the rumours are that the event will also be staged on Brymstone. Rumour is that the Gladiators are under pressure to put Aethra back on the map at the event by Thakur. They lack belt success and have fallen behind the likes of the Colonizers and Lords of Fire who are being seen as more dangerous. At the moment the Gladiators are not exactly sending fear throughout the fed like they used to and it’s causing unrest amongst the Aethran people. INJURED – Thunder (2); Archon (17), Dreadnaught (?); SUSPENDED – none WHOSE HOT … Chaos, Soldier of Fortune, Terminus, Wolf, Wildcat, Dark Justice, Painmaster, X-Termination, Genesis Prime, New Order, Assassin Greatness WHOSE NOT … Janus, Thunder, Ram, Mad Jester, Death’s Head, Brainstorm, Buck Steele, Nefarus, Titan Fury, Coat of Arms, Superiority Complex
SUDDEN DEATH STANDINGS … In the headline feud the Champions have a healthy lead. Forces Sam to call a crisis meeting to rally his troops. He wants the team to increase the levels of violence and not try and out wrestle Omega’s men ... Early concern for No Fear. In their vulnerable state they are losing too many points. They need to try and hold off wrestling too many matches until Thantos is back at the helm and Archon is fully healed. But it’s no good trying to tell them to back off. They have too much passion.
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 26-16 Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 7-15 Gladiators-Hitmen 6-5 No Fear-Lords of Fire 1-8 WAR-Rocketmen 8-8 Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 6-2 Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 8-4 Flamboyance-Pillars of Power 2-7 Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 6-4
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: Wildcat - Improving all the time. Delivering dominating wins in both singles and tag action. He has almost single handedly carried Savage Kingdom to a commanding lead over Murderer’s Row. TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: X-Termination - Have been outstanding ever since they cleaned up their act (partially) for 2103. Came through a series of tough matches to win the tag team tournament and become the new champs.

Card 785 – Sirius Silver Spire:
Ladies champ, Supernova, wins a thriller over Amazonia. Hastily booked rematch after Thrash ruined their last battle. Doesn’t look like it will go very long as Supernova goes all guns blazing and hits SPEED OF LIGHT very early. Amazonia holds on through the bombardment and comes within a whisker of glory after AMAZON ATTACK. Both ladies are in fine form surviving these finishers to continue the battle. A real testament to their abilities that the match probably carries on another ten minutes after this frenzied opening. The finish when it comes is typical of Supernova’s dazzling style. A Supernova Scissors Flip for a near fall followed immediately with a flying clothesline off the top rope. This left Amazonia in a precarious position. Supernova knew victory was close at hand after this and went for SPEED OF LIGHT again. This time Amazonia stays down and is beaten. She cut a frustrated figure upon getting back to her feet but gave Supernova a respectful nod. They are not exactly close but there is no denying that both women are popular in equal measure. The win means Supernova is not too far short of lasting a year as the ladies champion. A phenomenal achievement.
US. Patriot shows great spirit to beat Terminus in a non-title match. This should of been for the belt until Grogan got a bit funny and blocked it. Instead Adam says he will just have to beat Terminus in the full glare of everybody and then he cannot be denied. Adam is in brilliant form. Hits Terminus with everything he has got. Terminus is totally overwhelmed and falls to a second FREEDOM FLYER. Terminus cannot be bothered to attend the post match interview so Reynard B. Guile goes before the cameras. When quizzed about the poor effort shown he arrogantly says “why would we care about the loss? The belt wasn’t on the line so it was just a practise match. Besides all Adam’s moves were illegal”. Will be interesting to see if this leads into a title shot, certainly strengthens Adam’s case.
Animen Uprising canter to victory against Blizzard and Max Shield. Blizzard and Max are like chalk and cheese in their attitudes and struggle to gel. Proves costly as Blizzard refuses to tag out thinking he can take these guys on (he just pushed Max away at the start so he could be first man in). Gets beaten on and barely gets any respite. Mandrill just finishes him off with MUTANT MAULER for an easy win. Blizzard just shrugs his shoulders at the loss. Max defends his partner afterwards “he’s not a bad apple. Just needs to control his temper a little better. I’d be the same if I got given his mutant abilities. It must be hard for him”.
Splatter bashes Lord Nexus to a bloody mess. Back from suspension and Splatter still hunting old enemies. Krakan wants him to focus more on the battle against the Gladiators but will forgive him for trying to batter Lord Nexus. The Hitmen never get tired of feuding with the Titans. Lord Nexus fights gamely but ultimately falls to THE SHREDDER. He didn’t look too pretty by the time Splatter had finished with him and will need stitching up. Overkill annihilated Vigilante. No mercy from Overkill. It’s a long drawn out battering that resolves itself via TURNBUCKLE TRAP. Vigilante just had no answers against the size and power differential.
Titan Fury handles Assassin Greatness. Lengthy match that probably ticked on a bit too long for my liking. Titans eventually get Manslaughter with DAY OF THE DRAGON to win.

Card 786 – Sirius Silver Spire:
Max Shield grabs a crucial win over Mandrill. With the likes of Wolf and Buck Steele stealing the headlines for the Genesis team this is a chance for Max to remind everyone of his importance. It is also vital as Genesis need to make up points. Of course beating Mandrill in a regular match is now tougher than ever with Ram helping him. Max doesn’t let that bother him though and wrestles a fantastic match. Dominating large portions of it. He managed to win a long battle with MAXIMUM IMPACT finishing Mandrill. No way Mandrill can justifiably blame Ram for this (although I am sure he will). Ram made some vital distractions and saves during the bout. He couldn’t of done much more for his master. Mandrill just failed to capitalise. Even VOLTAIC STUNNER did not put Max away. The loss means the Colonizers lead over Genesis is cut and they have also suffered a bad night with two big defeats.
Vengeance savages Raven. Brutal stuff from Vengeance. Uses HELTER SKELTER four times on his way to beating Raven. Has no time to bask in the glow of victory as Splatter suddenly storms the ring and attacks him. He gets him from behind with Arsenal. A skull rattling blow across the back of the head. Raven who was still on the floor just about rolled out the way as the blows come raining down. Splatter manages to get about 5 or 6 uninhibited strikes in before security swarms the ring. He walks off laughing as Vengeance remains down inside the ring groaning and bleeding. Medics try to attend to him but Vengeance angrily tells them to back off. After a few minutes he just about gets to his feet and staggers away leaving a bloody trail behind him.
New Order untroubled by the Watchmen. Match made in the tag team tournament where New Order got Mandrill angry by helping Genesis Prime out. Tocsin stinking up the joint as usual, you can smell him at a thousand paces. Ram comes out as bodyguard showing that he is not sole slave property of Mandrill. He’s got a busy night ahead of him. Fails to affect the outcome here though. Tocsin started for the Watchmen and never got out the ring. New Order punish him. After getting knocked about for a few minutes Tocsin just seems to conk out and got finished by TWIST AND SHOUT.
Holocaust beats a frustrated Pegasus by DQ. Rankings match as Pegasus aims to get back among the big guns but he stumbles. Nothing memorable about this encounter. Pegasus probably edges it in terms of offence but lacks a cutting edge. After huffing and puffing it finally looks like he might be getting somewhere only for Holocaust to roll outside the ring. The break in momentum angers Pegasus. Johnny Rocket gets in his way and gets sent flying. Then the ref, who is trying to get him calm, gets tossed and that’s the worst thing Pegasus could do as the bell immediately goes off.
Flamboyance catch Pillars of Power out. The Pillars guilty of taking this too lightly after their previous domination. Killer Queen takes Dynamo down with WARP SPEED.
Ms. Liberty pinned Anaxis. Surprise outcome but Ms. Liberty deserves her win. Finishing off Anaxis with THE LIBERATOR.
***BREAKING NEWS***
The Gladiators challenge the Lords of Fire to face them at SATURDAY NIGHT STARSLAMMERS. Feeling the heat from Aethra they aim to show they are still the most dangerous team in the GWF. The Lords of Fire are the ones going around spreading the most fear so Vengeance identifies them as the top target. The challenge is put out on the rarely used Gladiator Spacebook account. Maleph doesn’t do social media but responds by sending a drone to Aethra. It drops a message in the Gladiator training coliseum before detonating and causing lots of damage in the immediate area. Written on the note in blood is “challenge accepted. May the Gladiators burn in hell”.
Speaking of Vengeance he is injured badly at the hands of Splatter. He will wrestle on but it’s a bad one and will be an 8 card injury. After a short delay Commissioner Grogan suspends Splatter for the same length of time to even things out. Krakan says the attack is a reminder to the Gladiators not to underestimate the Hitmen and also to try and weaken them ahead of GALACTICON (where double points are on offer).

Card 787 – Antares Firedome:
(THE GAUNTLET TALK SHOW … SPEAKING TO ARCHON ... Massive pop for Archon as he comes out. His heroic efforts have been incredible. After suffering severe burns and then seeing his friend and partner, Crossfire, perish at the hands of Blazing Skull it is mind boggling that he is even still wrestling. The emotional and physical pain must be immense. He has deservedly been showered with praise for his determination and dignity. Like any good journalist and host Qualitar tackles him on the subject. Suddenly Archon raises his voice and it makes Qualitar jump, “there’s no crying in wrestling. I am on a quest to make Blazing Skull pay for what happened. The best way to do it is to beat him in the ring and banish him after SUDDEN DEATH is over”. Of course there is the small matter of Bishop Hell and Maleph assisting Blazing Skull to which Archon replies “they are enemies by mere association with Blazing Skull. When Thantos returns to ringside and I am fully healed up then No Fear will be in a much stronger position to take them on”. Qualitar worriedly says “but why do you insist on wrestling them now? Especially with no manager and your terrible injuries. You are just giving up SUDDEN DEATH points and risking your health. You’re even going to be facing the Lords of Fire at GALACTICON. Some people may call you foolish”. Archon’s voice raises again “Foolish? Never. I am a man of honour. I have a GWF contract and they pay me well. If I can wrestle I will. Plus the Lords of Fire must be shown their violent ways won’t work against me”. Trouble is the Lords of Fire are already showing signs that they think this feud is done and dusted as they have accepted a challenge from the Gladiators. When Qualitar brings this up Archon gets angry again “this feud will never be over!”. Suddenly a voice in the background is heard “that’s right”. Suddenly holograms of Blazing Skull and Maleph appear before Archon. He panics and swings at them but just passes through their bodies. The momentum sends Archon tumbling over. Blazing Skull laughs and Maleph just flaps his wings menacingly, “I know you will never forgive me for what happened to Crossfire. It was a terrible accident but these things happen. You should of accepted it but petitioning for me to enter the GWF was the biggest mistake of your life. The Lords of Fire under the watchful eye of Maleph are now free to spread disorder everywhere”. Archon bangs his fists on Qualitar’s table in frustration “come out and face me. Projecting holograms just shows you are too cowardly. At GALACTICON and for the rest of SUDDEN DEATH I will punish you with my submission holds”. At this point Maleph and Blazing Skull are happy that they have disrupted the interview and messed enough with Archon’s head. The hologram slowly fades with a chilling deep laugh filling the venue before eventually fading out too. Archon is in no mood to continue the chat with Qualitar and leaves the set.
Tag champs, X-Termination, lost to the Mercenaries by DQ. No bigger test of a champions resolve to build a reign than to have to face the Mercenaries in the first defence. After losing to X-Termination in the tournament for the belts Krakan claims they won’t make the same mistake again. They have plenty of ammunition with all the Hitmen now carrying brand new even bigger replica guns. So no shortage of weapons to choose from if they can get away with it or the situation arises. But before they can be put into use Johnny Rocket disrupts the whole match. Grunge having been nailed by Soldier of Fortune’s brutal club is in bad shape. Johnny throws Sleeze his mic to attack with. It’s right under the ref’s nose and the DQ is called. After the match Johnny is laughing and joking about how he outsmarted the Mercenaries and his team are still champs. Then his face drops as someone hands him a note. It’s come straight from the Commissioner’s office. Grogan demands an immediate rematch on the next show STARLAMMERS and it will be a Titan Death match. Johnny shouts “he can’t do this. They blew their chance. No way we should have to wrestle them again so soon”.
Pegasus struggles to a win over Nefarus by count-out. Nefarus looking forward to a “test against the best”. Maybe putting Pegasus on a higher pedestal than most would see him (on recent form). However it would be a huge scalp for him. Pegasus is not about to hold back as he desperately wants to climb the rankings again. He stalled badly in his last bout against Holocaust. This time Pegasus delivers the expected victory but it’s a real slog. Almost losing to SCISSORDRIVER. Battling back only to see Ram stop his attempted pin following PROJECT PEGASUS. However manages to sweep Nefarus off his feet with a powerful clothesline whilst they are outside the ring. He takes the count-out win gratefully but it’s still well below his standards.
The Matador is outstanding against Colussus. The forgotten man on the CPC reminds us of all his talents (with a little help from Reynard B. Guile). Total control. Colussus offers up very little. About the only good thing he did was kick out after BULLWHIP. But it doesn’t spark any form of a comeback. Instead the Matador dominates him some more and pins him after Matador Death Run. Very, very impressive.
Powerhouse has too much power for Killer Queen. Lots of theatrics from Queenie. In his past days he loved being a giant killer (remember his feuding days with Massif). Sadly tonight after a long battle he gets worn down by CHOKE WITH GEAR (x2) and then finished with VOLCANIC DROP. Queenie has the last word though as he recovers and sprays glitter in Powerhouse’s eyes. Powerhouse suffers a nasty eye infection and misses the next two cards.
Darkos and Zoauve upsets Titan Fury with a DQ win. Not sure what planet Darkos is on. Says his teaming with Zouave provides the right mix of experience and youth to be too much for Titan Fury. However the Titans blow the chance to make him eat his words. They struggle to turn their dominance into many pin attempts or finishers. Then Rising Sun gets sucked into a brawl outside and controversially is the one blamed by the ref.
Karah shows all his promise in beating Mutant. The youngster gains more confidence. Despite being foiled by Cannibal meanly interfering after BARBARIAN SHUFFLE and then feeling the intense discomfort of TEMPLE GRINDER he keeps plugging away. It’s really anybody’s match but Mutant goes crazy and runs into a turnbuckle. Karah hooks in the pin quick as a flash.

Card 788 – SATURDAY NIGHT STARSLAMMERS – Antares Firedome:
(Rocket and Qualitar start a brawl in the broadcaster’s booth. Although they are always arguing tonight things get particularly heated as the subject of whether Commissioner Grogan should remain at the helm of the GWF comes up. Qualitar stoutly defends Grogan, after all he gave him his big media shot. Johnny calls Grogan corrupt and demands that he resigns. Of course the whole Kronoscam business is something Johnny still feels bitter about. The tussle ends up at the side of the ring during the match between Jester and Jack. It’s all very amusing and lasts a few minutes but GWF execs take a very dim view and threaten to sack them if it happens again. Whilst this happened Exo-King jumped in to do running commentary) Heavyweight champ, Chaos, keeps hold of the belt by beating Wolf via DQ decision. In the incredible career of Wolf it’s fair to say 2102 doesn’t stand out. He suffered countless defeats and was completely dominated by Vengeance in their feud. However so far in 2103 things have been different. Rejuvenated by joining up with the Genesis guys and enjoying being around the unpredictable Buck Steele / Genocide has coincided with a run of victories that has now pushed himself back to the top contender spot. Commando Sam is doing his best to unsettle Wolf. He is clearly worried about the threat he poses. Starts by calling him a relic that has stayed in the GWF too long and then suggests that Genesis have only taken him into their team out of pity for stray dogs. Wolf sees the red mist and goes for Sam. This allows Chaos to move in behind and grab a hold of Wolf and take the sting out of the blows. Sam is already shouting at the ref to disqualify Wolf but gets told to shut up. Poor Wolf is tossed back into the ring and the match gets officially started. He starts getting mauled and it looks like it’s going to be another one of those very one-sided beatings that Chaos has been dishing out so much of late. Wolf can barely catch his breath but then a glimmer of hope. Chaos throws Wolf into the ropes but is too casual about it. Wolf just about puts the brakes on and grabs Chaos who has ducked his head too early. Defying the huge size difference Wolf gets Chaos up and manages to deliver an incredible piledriver. He then waits for Chaos to get up, ready and poised to latch on with SAVAGE FACE CLAW. Chaos does eventually get up with the help of the ropes but immediately falls through them. Not wanting to lose the advantage gained Wolf leaps over the top rope to go right after him. Trouble is Chaos manages to catch him despite only just staggering to his feet. He clumsily dumps Wolf into the ring steps. This angers Wolf who comes back at him with a chair. Both Chaos and Sam get tagged but there is no way the ref can let that go. With the match over Wolf makes it clear that smashing both of them with that chair felt far more satisfying than winning the belt. His failure to capture the title is not important to him.
Tag champs, X-Termination, overcome the Mercenaries in a Titan Death match. No secret that Johnny Rocket is fuming that his team has been forced into this match. Krakan knows this is a big chance and is desperate for his team to reclaim the belts. Not so much for the fact that is an achievement but more because he knows the Mercenaries holding the belts will drive the Gladiators mad. However the match turns into a disaster for the Mercenaries. They looked well in control and were battering Sleeze in the opening part of the match. Even when Grunge saved his partner after OPERATION: AMBUSH it looked like their time the belts was running out. Perhaps the Mercenaries got too cocky because they then seemed to toy too much. They never saw the big fight back coming and Soldier of Fortune started clocking a dangerous amount of tokens. When X-Termination performed HEADBANGER’S BALL on him it was all over. X-Termination flaunted the win in front of the Mercenaries but they seemed to shell shocked to react. Johnny Rocket bragged with Spacebook and Flutter postings long into the night.
Interplanetary champ, Terminus, fends off the challenge of Wildcat. A big moment in Wildcat’s career. Hunter’s Moon takes a backseat as his hot form in both singles and tag gets him rewarded with a shot at the IP belt. Of course Reynard B. Guile isn’t going to make this easy. He objects to both Terak and Mollock being at ringside and demands both are sent away. In the end the ref decides Mollock must leave which didn’t happen quietly. Wildcat tries not to let his concentration get disrupted from this but it’s pretty much one way traffic. The one thing it proved is how resilient Wildcat is. He was up to 7 tokens before Terminus could finally finish him after all the chipping away. Sadly HAMMERLOCK SLAM did for Wildcat to leave his dream in tatters. Hopefully he’ll learn from this and challenge again in the not too distant future.
Thunder and Overkill crush the Lords of Fire. Incredible one off meeting (but could easily lead to more). Shows that being tag team champions isn’t everything as neither team is anywhere close to being contenders at the moment. Despite that this is the seen as a battle between the two most dangerous teams in the GWF. In a way the winners will take a much more significant prize by being recognised as the most violent. Maleph presides over a ritual inside the ring where the Lords of Fire kneel down. A fiery ring is cast around them and they show thanks for all the carnage and disorder in the galaxy. They pledge to uphold violence and suffering. The bizarre ceremony is quickly interrupted by the Gladiators entering the ring and the flames quickly fade. Things get heated between the two teams very quickly. Maleph did not take kindly to the ceremony being interrupted and seeks to irritate Thrash outside the ring. She reacts by trying to swing at him with a sword. She almost succeeds in connecting but only nicks the edge of a wing and Maleph flaps quickly to move away from her. Back in the ring Thunder and Bishop Hell are going at it hammer and tongs. Thunder manages to get the edge and stuns Bishop Hell with THUNDERCLAP early. Maleph starts shrieking and this distracts long enough that Thunder doesn’t get a chance to cover. However the move has left Bishop Hell struggling. Thunder soon brings in Overkill and the Gladiators really assert their superiority. They waste no time striking with DECAPITATOR. Thrash sees that Blazing Skull is going to try and stop the move and reacts fast. Comes up behind Blazing Skull and nails him with her spiked shoulder pad and then grabs her sword to start swinging at Maleph again. All the while Bishop Hell is out of it and gets easily pinned amid all this commotion. Big statement from the Gladiators here. Jack of Diamonds hangs on for a win over Mad Jester by DQ. Unable to get very far with pure wrestling Jack does something unusual and turns to violence. Even Jester looks surprised. His father Exo-King, who is actually sitting at the commentators table to watch, looks pleased as he has always felt Jack needed to toughen up a bit. The recent chain match was the start of that toughening process and Jack has moved it along here. Eventually he does find himself trapped in the ropes ready to receive A DEAD MAN’S VERSE but manages to wriggle free before it strikes. Jack receives the added bonus of getting the win because even before he got himself untangled the ref had already made his mind up to DQ Jester. Useful point gained.
Titan Fury sweep aside Darkos and Zouave. The Titans feel like they were cheated last week. Lord Nexus wasted no time in issuing another challenge. He got his wish granted partially because he wanted to be a special match but Darkos refused. Instead Darkos brags that he and Zouave will beat this overrated Titan team again. But insists no special stipulations as “that will give the Titans too many opportunities to cheat”. Despite all the bantering from Darkos this was a completely different match. Much more like it from the Titans. They have little problem in pinning Darkos after DAY OF THE DRAGON. Later there is more good news as they learned that they are about to be #1 contenders to the tag belts and set to face either X-Termination or longtime rivals the Mercenaries at GALACTICON.
Ursa Major inflicts defeat upon Manslaughter by DQ. A chance for Manslaughter to really flex his muscles but he comes a cropper. Just cannot cope with Ursa Major’s agility. It’s only when he’s reached his fifth token that seems to wake up. Managing to catch Ursa Major at the top turnbuckle and throwing him down. Probably could and should of gone onto win from there but Darkos puts his foot in it by kicking the Ursa Major whilst he was down. Thought the ref hasn’t spotted it but the sudden ringing of the bell soon told him otherwise.
The Creeper goes over Gila by count-out. Not seen Gila in a while and don’t suppose we’ll see him for a long time after this. He was hopeless and shows no improvement.

GWF REPORT (SUDDEN DEATH 2103 CARDS 785 - 788)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Chaos (Top Contender: The Matador) * GWF Tag Champs: X-Termination (Top Contenders: Titan Fury) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Terminus (Top Contender: US. Patriot) * GWF Ladies Champ: Supernova (Top Contender: Ms. Liberty)
Latest News:
Relations between the fans and Commissioner Grogan are on the rocks. Grogan cannot believe some parts of the wrestling community claim his true colours have come out and think he is favouring the CPC and sees them as the top team in the GWF. Already people like US. Patriot and Exo-King have spoken out and quickly been silenced. GWI mag even ran an article suggesting Grogan should quit. Citing the immense pressure the Commissioner has been under with the terrible events of this year and some questionable judgement calls. Maybe a new guy could do a better job. In a move so typical of their honour Lord Nexus and Omega show a united front defending Grogan and give him their 100% backing. Omega calls him a man of honour with a fair mind. He urges the media to let Grogan out from under the microscope and even goes so far as to commend the Commissioner for steering the fed through such sad and tragic times. The critics start to back off after this. That’s how influential and respected Omega is. Probably going to let this settle down now. Just wanted to do some very early teasing on Grogan and the CPC. Of course we all know where this ends. However for now Grogan has the perfect get out clause of being stressed and having to deal with the terrible tragedies of this year. Kind of allows him to do some very early favours for Colby and Pelf and get away with it.
Things very hot between the Gladiators and the Hitmen after Splatter viciously batters Vengeance. As you’ll see in the GALACTICON update below the Gladiators reacted by challenging the Hitmen to an Ultimate Escape match. With Splatter being suspended for the event it will be interesting to see how Krakan deals with this. There was no way he was going to be seen to be backing down from the challenge but he’s currently a man short.
GALACTICON 17 NEWS … Shock details emerge. The biggest event of the year will take place on Brymstone. Lots of SUDDEN DEATH feuds ready to run wild with No Fear against Lords of Fire dominating the event. Archon will again be administered pain killing injections just to get through it. Thantos is not exactly doing cartwheels over such news (although with his injuries that would be impossible). He desperately wants to be at ringside managing his team and is frustrated but most of all he thinks Archon continues to take too many unnecessary risks. There is also the small matter of SUDDEN DEATH points. As Lords of Fire are hotly favoured to win whilst Archon is so badly injured points are being surrendered too easily. A few other matches have already been finalised and signed. Here’s what we know so far ... First reveal is a massive one. The Gladiators have challenged the Hitmen to an Aethran Ultimate Escape match and Krakan has accepted. With Splatter suspended and Vengeance injured it will be interesting to see what happens with the line ups for the match. Vengeance will likely wrestle through his injuries meaning Krakan either goes in a man down or tries to hire a replacement ... The Galaxian belt is on the line of course as the Matador is named #1 contender. Can he release the seemingly unbreakable hold Chaos has on it at the moment? Sam will be there at ringside looking to protect the belt at all costs ... Another match sure to pull in the crowds is the confrontation between the New Order and X-Termination. Apparently the small print is being finalised and the confirmation of this tussle will be released in the very near future. It could be that special stipulations will be added to spice up an already mouth watering encounter. The belts unfortunately won’t be on line though as New Order are too lowly ranked. Who knows maybe X-Termination will be belt-less by the time this rolls around ... Last and by no means least it has been revealed that the unorthodox pairing of Buck Steele and Wolf as Panic Attack will blaze into action against either one of the Watchmen or Animen Uprising. It will not be known as to who'll they will face until much later so as to keep those 'Mutants' guessing as Mandrill starkly put it. In fact the hype for this match is already spiralling out of control and Commisioner Grogan has indicated that he may well have to assign Massif as the special referee in a vein effort to keep order of this potentially frantic match and ensure it goes off without a hitch. Sometimes the COUNTDOWN show is almost as big. As usual there are key matches serving as build ups ... Archon takes on Bishop Hell as the lead in to the No Fear-Lords of Fire match up. Even with his ailments Archon believes it is a matter of time before he defeats Bishop Hell and Blazing Skull one-on-one. If he can pull off an improbably victory it will be a huge confidence booster ahead of the huge tag battle at GALACTICON itself ... Thunder is pitted against the ageing Lord Nexus. Many see this as Lord Nexus's last opportunity to wow the galaxy with his superb ring skills before his inevitable full retirement at the year's end. Maybe victory will give him momentum enough to make one last push on the Interplanetary belt he has longed for in recent times. He of course has every reason to be confident after enlisting the help of tag team partner Ursa Major for the match. The contract stipulating that each man may have an ally of their choice in their corner. Problem being that where Thunder goes the dark and intimidating figure of Overkill normally follows ... The tag team straps will be up for grabs as X-Termination will defend against Titan Fury who despite a recent decline in fortunes have at least earnt another chance to finally win them. They will be aware of their past matches where they have warred over the titles without luck. Maybe this will finally be their night? INJURED – Powerhouse (1), Vengeance (8), Archon (13); Dreadnaught (?); SUSPENDED – Splatter (8)
WHOSE HOT … Chaos, Matador, Max Shield, Vengeance, US. Patriot, Ms. Liberty, Supernova, X-Termination, Thunder and Overkill, Titan Fury WHOSE NOT … Mandrill, Nefarus, Colussus, Raven, Vigilante, Manslaughter, Anaxis, Lords of Fire, Watchmen, Pillars of Power
SUDDEN DEATH STANDINGS … the biggest movers are the Titans as they dominate the Masked Assassins. Other than that not too much change. The coming month is critical. With GALACTICON coming all matches between feuding teams are worth double points. Could see some leads swinging around.
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 29-18 Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 9-17 Gladiators-Hitmen 7-5 No Fear-Lords of Fire 1-8 WAR-Rocketmen 8-10 Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 11-3 Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 10-4 Flamboyance-Pillars of Power 4-9 Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 7-4
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: The Matador – On the end of lots of criticism for fading into the background during 2103. Hardly wrestling and being overshadowed by Terminus. Answers all that in the only way he knows. By completely outwrestling Colussus in a performance lauded by many as one of the finest ever.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: Thunder and Overkill –The significance of their win over the Lords of Fire cannot be underplayed. This was an unofficial match to show who the top dogs in the tag division are. No belts involved but the Gladiators demonstrate they are still the team to beat and that the power lies with them.

Card 789 – Vega Palladium:
(INTRO … What a night in store here at the Palladium, the cameras fixed on the frenzied crowds crammed together in their thousands. With great speed they begin to pan around the crowds before as ever focusing on Qualitar in the broadcast booth with a somewhat disinterested looking Vanity grooming himself at his side. Qualitar: "Hello everyone and welcome to a packed house here at the Vega Palladium! It's gonna be an all action show for you tonight. I'm joined in the broadcast booth by one of the most arrogant individuals in the galaxy 'Vanity'. Hey Vanity, get that mirror away from your face and speak to the watching galaxy." Vanity: "Oi! Never interupt the galaxy's best looking man while he's admiring himself. I oughta give you a taste of what it's like to be on the receiving end of Vanity and I would if I wasn't bound by those ridiculous security laws Commisioner Grogan has imposed.” Qualitar: "Alright, alright, calm down Vanity but can't you just think about something other than yourself? Such as tonights show." Vanity: "If I'm not in action then I don't care. Do you think I care about who wins between Pegasus and Dark Justice? My only concern is for me and my looks, speaking of which where's my mirror? I need to check my hair." Qualitar: “Look there it is on the desk. Just take it and shut up if your not going to be any help. Well folks get set for a feast of entertainment as Dark Justice goes head to head with Pegasus in the big main event, yes it's gonna be no holds barred as Titan Death rules are assigned to the clash. That in addition to what promises to be a controversial satellite screened interview with the Lords of Fire on Brymstone shoud ensure that tonight is going to be a red hot, excuse the pun, night of action. Come on even you Vanity must appreciate what's in store for us." Vanity: "No I don't care and I never have. Hey, can some imbecile go and fetch me a hairbrush or do you want me sit here looking almost as ugly as Qualitar?" Qualitar: “I give up. Why can't I have someone in the broadcast booth who I can talk to amicably. Ah well, lets get down to the opening match between Wraith and Cycle Hog.") (Brymstone segment ... The Lords of Fire … The big vidi-monitor rigged into the Palladium began to glow red. Smoke began to rise up from the floors below and with a fizz the terrifying pictures of Blazing Skull flashed into view with Bishop Hell and Maleph stalking the background. In the smoky mist it looked as if the Lords of Fire had just torched something as fresh sickly fumes belched from the burning 'corpse'. Amid the chaos and carnage Blazing Skull moved closely towards the screen and glared with evil eyes. He let out a loud hiss and spoke into the microphone attached to the floating camera, his words echoeing through the entire Palladium … Blazing Skull: "Ha, ha, what is the GWF trying to prove by booking No Fear against us at GALACTICON? That it isn't afraid to stand up to the most evil forces from the baddest corner of the universe? What's the point? I am allowed to conduct my reign of terror anywhere I want now. I know the whole purpose of the event is so that the pathetic duo of Archon and Pulsar can try to humiliate the Lords of Fire in front of the Brymstonian race but we might not give them the satisfaction. We don't have to show up for match if we don't want to, I certainly don't need to now. Wouldn’t that be funny? But ... I kinda like the idea of beating the living daylights out of Archon and Pulsar inside the Battle Dome, don't you Bishop Hell?" In a sudden move Bishop Hell darted towards the screen and screamed … Bishop Hell: "You bet my fiery friend" and unleashed HELLFIRE straight into the camera which caused the large video screen back in the Vega Palladium to fizz violently before blackout) Pegasus takes Dark Justice down in a Titan Death match. Another win here would mean Pegasus is building some serious momentum again. He’d love nothing more than to be able to challenge Chaos and become Omega’s top guy again. Victory comes but not without drama. The ref gets bumped after a few minutes. It was a total accident but Pegasus was responsible. In the ten moves they are without a ref to make any counts Pegasus puts an amazing five tokens on Justice. On the tenth move Justice counters a turnbuckle charge and hits SHOCK PROBATION. It would of been hard on Pegasus if this had led to defeat but he was able to kick out. The impact hadn’t been the cleanest (+1). Although it gave Justice a brief foothold in the match it doesn’t last too long and Pegasus soon gets back on top. The crowd are right behind him as he goes through his whole repertoire of power moves and also the ones Omega has taught him over the last couple years. Finally he manages to get set up for PROJECT PEGASUS and Justice (who by this time needed a double 6 to survive) stands no chance. There is a sense that Pegasus is building towards another confrontation with Chaos. It’s all very dependent on what happens at GALACTICON where the Heavyweight belt will be contested between Chaos and the Matador but after that things could be well set up for Pegasus. He does have a tricky match to navigate himself at the event after being booked to face Mandrill. Win that one and he should be unquestionably #1 contender. Buck Steele gets a fortunate win over Mandrill by DQ. Mandrill treating his new slave, Ram, like dirt. Forced to wrestle earlier and now being made to do humiliating tasks in front of the crowds before and after matches. When a distraction fails Mandrill smashes him with his gun. Ram has completely lost his dignity as just picks it up and follows after his master. Buck Steele is left behind looking relieved. He had been zapped with VOLTAIC STUNNER earlier in the bout and no transformation occurred but still managed to get a foot on the ropes. The win then came his way as a brawl broke out on the outside. This is where Ram upset Mandrill by not diverting attention away from what was happening. Mandrill was trying to ram his laser gun into Buck’s gut. Instead Ram was the one who received the blow as Mandrill’s anger level went through the roof. Asked why Buck didn’t do anything about the mistreatment of Ram happening right before him the response was simply “what people don’t know is Ram has had many chances to rejoin people that care about him but the olive branches always get shunned. Mandrill is scum but Ram has dug his own grave and can get on with it as far as I’m concerned. Mandrill and Painmaster treat the people of Scorpi far worse than what you’ve seen tonight anyway. Genesis is not going to waste its energy on someone like him when we have our own problems to worry about”. Wolf, Blizzard and Max Shield defeat Ram and the Watchmen by DQ. Wolf’s confidence is still high despite his failed recent title bid against Chaos. He’s been winning a ton of matches and here he is working feverishly to ensure another triumph. Ram was again being holo whipped on his way to the ring and expected to do most of the work. Wolf runs out the ring straight towards Painmaster and rips the whip out of his hands which gets a huge pop. Not that he is trying to save Ram in anyway. For he lashes Painmaster and then does the same to Ram. The weapon soon gets dropped as the overpowering smell of Tocsin gets into his nostrils. Wolf choosing to cup his nose rather than hold onto it. Max Shield is alert to the situation and quickly grabs the weapon and hands to officials so it can no longer be a factor in the match. Ram ends up doing most of the work early on. He almost pays for missing RAM CHARGE against Max Shield and takes a fair bit of punishment. The frustrated Watchmen order him out of the ring. They don’t fair much better and end up getting creamed by Wolf. To cope they start double teaming Wolf incessantly and end up getting disqualified. Blizzard then comes into the ring and clears it with ICE ATTACK. It should be a happy moment for Genesis but Blizzard just strops because he didn’t see any ring action and refuses to celebrate with his chums.
Pillars of Power spring a surprise to beat Coat of Arms. Star Warrior says Coat of Arms haven’t properly got going yet and needs to start at the bottom and work their way up if they want to be a top contending team. The Pillars take serious objection to this. Powerhouse, who is wearing goggles (eye infection thanks to Killer Queen), says he is going to wrap his ropes round them both so tight so as to leave a permanent indentation on their skin. Coat of Arms is well aware that the Pillars pose a threat but they make a clever move to nullify Cassandra. Usually if anyone accompanies them it’s their father, Omega. But it is rare he ever does anything approaching getting involved in a match due to his high values. He certainly wouldn’t be trying to stop Cassandra. Luckily their sister, Supernova, isn’t quite so reserved and she is here tonight supporting her brothers. Seeing her drives Cassandra mad. It more or less takes Cassandra out the match as she spends her whole time trying to trash talk with Supernova and pays little attention to what is going down inside the ring. It matters not as the Pillars pull off a stunning victory. Alpha Force gets into strife against Powerhouse and finished off with VOLCANIC DROP. Coat of Arms get panned in the aftermath but Omega defends the team “just teething problems. They need to work on getting their signals right. Star Warrior didn’t realise Alpha Force was struggling as much as he was which is why he didn’t try for the pin save. Next time they’ll get it right”.
Wraith pinned Cycle Hog. Things are on the up for Wraith and Genesis Prime so far this year (even though the Genesis team trails the Colonizers in SUDDEN DEATH). Wraith thinks the tag team is really going places and also believes he can also be a strong singles wrestler. Wants to use tonight as a stage to promote his singles talent. Nowhere near the same attitude from Cycle Hog. Usual gluttonous behaviour from Hog who gorges on a foot long hot dog on his way to the ring. Wraith uses his invisibility to appear before him on the runway. Hog gets such a fright that mustard and ketchup come shooting out the hot dog and straight into Wraith’s face. Poor Wraith stumbles backwards as his eyes sting and Hog takes him down with a flabby armed clothesline. Wouldn’t want to swap places with Wraith now as Hog and Cannibal take a leg each and drag him towards the ring. Hog looks fuming that his pre match meal has been spoilt. Wraith has to work hard to get out of this fix but just about avoids the banana skin. Managing to battle back despite making heavy work of it. A reverse superplex (modified to accommodate Hog’s huge size) leads to the pin. As payback he gets a hold of the half eaten hot dog and slams into Hog’s face leaving bits of sausage embedded in his beard. Cannibal watching outside actually finds it all quite funny and lets Wraith just get on with it.
Jack of Diamonds takes Gila out in just three moves. Gila is convinced he is going to spring an upset and start his climb to the top of the GWF pyramid tonight. Jack just wants to close out a routine victory but then the lights go out and Jester’s high pitched laugh sounds out. Within about thirty seconds the lights flick back on and Jack is tied in the ropes. What had happened? (Gila starts on level 2 offense as Jack tries to fight his way free) Gila cannot believe his luck and seeks to take advantage straight away. Propels himself off the opposite ropes and runs at Jack. Fails to see Jack has got a foot up in front of him and runs straight into it. Gila goes down and Jack has all the time in the world to free himself. By the time Jack is free Gila is only just starting to move again. Jack simply picks him up for a bridge suplex and swiftly follows up with BLACK DIAMOND to get the job done. Next target will be Mad Jester to get back at him for tonight’s elaborate stunt.
