***OTB NEWS***
Mayhem needs a seat after being told he is not in the OTB cage tournament. No team can have more than 1 member in a particular bracket and Splatter is the team’s cage specialist. Krakan sends Mayhem to the singles tournament instead. Most people would be happy with that but not Mayhem. At least it gives him time to recuperate from injury as by the time the singles show rolls around he will be fully healed up. There is a big surprise that neither Janus or the Matador make the grade. Commissioner Grogan tells the CPC they have 1 spot and can send whoever they want. As the current CPC champion it is Terminus who gets given the nod by Colby and Pelf. For the draw purposes Terminus will be categorised on the same side as the heroes so he is guaranteed a first round match against one of the villain entrants. No Fear and the Lords of Fire not involved in the tag event as they take their war into the cage with Pulsar and Blazing Skull representing their respective sides. All means that we go into OTB with two of the three winners from last year not even defending their trophy as Janus (singles) misses the cut and Buck Steele (cage) is involved in the tag tournament. Other than these changes it’s all the usual suspects involved.
THE DRAW
SINGLES ... Raven-Mandrill ... Max Shield-Chaos ... Pegasus-Mayhem ... Terminus-Vengeance
TAG ... Titan Fury-Superiority Complex ... New Order-Thunder and Overkill ... Coat of Arms-Mercenaries ... Panic Attack-Ninja Assassins
CAGE ... Vyper-Splatter ... Pulsar-Malice ... Draconian Sheik-Mad Jester ... Wraith-Blazing Skull

Card 846 – ONLY THE BEST (Hardcore) – Polaris Interstellar Stadium: (The path is clearer without Wolf involved. He wanted the GWF to put him in both the Hardcore and Tag tournaments but that is against the rules. Wolf tells the fans “don’t worry I’ll be back in the cage next year. Owwwwoooo!” ... Other news is Bishop Hell is mooching about the place. He’s not wrestling so there is concern over what he is doing here) Added Attractions:
Heavyweight champ, Pegasus, sends Mandrill packing. Doesn’t get much bigger than this for Mandrill. Has always considered himself a big fish in the GWF but has never held the belts to back it up. For that reason Chaos has never took him too seriously as a threat to villain leadership. That could all be about to change. Mandrill heaps pressure on Ram by telling him “this is a chance to prove yourself worthy by assisting my winning of the title”. There’s also some pressure on the other side of the coin. Pegasus tells Omega to be vigilant and not hold back from ‘doing what needs to be done’ to keep the title from falling into the wrong hands. Omega will be torn inside. He knows Pegasus is right but it goes against his morals. Rarely, if ever, will he interfere unless under extreme provocation. Luckily for Omega he doesn’t have to face the conundrum. Pegasus never gets into any real trouble. Mandrill takes the fight to him but huffs and puffs with his offence. Pegasus having been kept pretty quiet in the first few minutes starts to up his game. The big difference between them is, although they are evenly matched in the power stakes, Pegasus has greater agility and can use the ropes much better. These subtle differences start to make a difference the longer it goes. When he nails Tomahawk Thrust Omega urges Pegasus to go for the kill. He nods and executed PROJECT PEGASUS. Ram desperately tries to interrupt the move. Pegasus ducks the intended clothesline and Ram takes out his own master. Pegasus then chucks Ram out of the ring and continues where he left off. Victory is sealed and with it Pegasus has now written his name in the record books as a listed Heavyweight champion. Ram looks petrified in the aftermath knowing he will face consequences for striking his master.
Superiority Complex barely break sweat in beating Titan Fury. Limbering up for the OTB tag bracket with a dress rehearsal. It’s free flowing action for the first couple minutes but ends premature. Skinhead getting Dragonmaster with BAD ATTITUDE. The next meeting will have more riding on it and likely be much more cagey affair. Commando Sam brags “we didn’t care about the result even though this was an easy win. This was all about building a dossier on the Titans. We know everything we need to know. There’s no way we can lose now”. Lord Nexus defiantly says “we still got plenty of surprises up our sleeves”. Let’s hope so because the Titan Fury rolled over pretty easily.
Heracles stumbles to victory over Karah. Filler match that Heracles can barely be bothered with. The hulking presence of Mollock seems to grab his attention more than Karah. His attitude nearly gets him into trouble and Karah comes within a whisker of an upset via BARBARIAN SHUFFLE (needed an unlikely snakes eyes roll and came up with a 1 and 2). This wakes Heracles up but finds Karah difficult to deal with. OLYMPIA does do the job in the end but that was much harder work than he’d bargained for.
First Round:
Splatter eliminates Vyper. Barely three weeks after their infamous Snake Pit match they cross paths again. Vyper makes things interesting by bringing out several snakes and coiling them around the bars on each side of the cage. Will make any escape attempts very interesting. Although there is always the doorway out. Doesn’t take long for the snakes to become part of the action. A collision with one of the sides dislodged a snake. It falls on Splatter and quickly wraps itself around his neck. In a panic he manages to unravel it and throws it with great force over the cage and into the crowd invoking screams. The fate of the snake is unknown as the match continues. Splatter getting over that scare to continue. It is very even but a Pole Ram gives Splatter an escape opportunity. He takes one look at the three remaining snakes and makes a beeline for the door. Jumps through it as one snake gets dangerously close to take his place in the next round. With 2 wins Splatter certainly has the measure of this rivalry. It’s been a rough patch from Vyper and he needs to try and bounce back.
Despite not being in great shape after the loss GWF officials order Vyper to round up the snakes. The one in the crowd is eventually found in an area evacuated by the fans. It is unharmed by its excursion but of course fan safety is the greatest priority. For putting them at risk Vyper faces a disciplinary hearing and possible suspension.
Malice beats Pulsar to continue building growing his reputation. Pulsar not taking any chances against this monster. He maybe more hardcore in style these past few years but still needs to rely on his agility here to hit and move. There is a huge disparity in strength and size. Malice is awesome though. Also possessing fantastic agility which is incredible for such a huge man. Walks up to the outside of the cage and almost shakes it off its hinges before choosing to climb into the cage. He’s barely halfway down from the top when he turns and pushes off against the sides. Colliding with Pulsar like a cannonball. What a way to announce yourself. To be fair to Pulsar he responds. Despite not being given much chance he shakes off that impact and manages an escape attempt albeit foiled. But it always looks Malice has got too much for him and ultimately will get his way. So it proves, Malice has a chance to attempt FIELDS OF MALICE and doesn’t spurn it. With Pulsar already carrying a couple of tokens he goes for the less risky version (+2) and just as well as it came up with a roll of 4. Escape was a formality after that.
Couple of notes about Malice in his great debut year. As far as I recall he has never missed FIELDS OF MALICE and only been beaten once (Dark Justice). Impressive stuff and the sort of impact that has him well on the road to being awarded Newcomer of the Year.
Mad Jester boots Draconian Sheik out of the tournament. Cage seems tailor made for Drac but his offence becomes less effective without anyone at ringside. Means Jester is the slight favourite and of course also has an excellent record in the cage tournament as a 2-time winner. Only Wolf can better that statistic. Jester enters the cage giggling and walks to the centre with the barbed rattle in view. Been a while since we’ve seen it. Jester had managed to smuggle it past the officials. Drac had been chewing on the bars but on noticing Jester turns and pulls a sharp pin object from his headdress. The two head straight for one another weapons drawn. Blood will surely be spilt. Jester comes out the better from the early altercation. A swift kick managing to knock the sharp object from Drac’s grasp followed by a couple of shots with the rattle. It is soon discarded to the middle of the ring with blood dripping off its barbs. Drac is too wild to let a weapon based attack stop him fighting. Making instinctive movements to stay in the bout but in truth he is hurt. His headdress is mostly red as evidence of injuries seep through. Jester maybe mad but he is also clever. He knows it’s only a matter of time. Keeps a measured distance and lets Drac burn himself out. As Drac makes yet another wild lunge Jester draws him near the ropes. Leans himself up against them and entices Drac to charge. The inevitable miss sees Drac hit the cage and then get entangled. Jester could of walked there and then but the chance to deliver A DEAD MAN’S VERSE is too good to miss. Jester spouts a rambling limerick and delivers the move. A likely victory is now a certainty. Jester performs a couple of cartwheels and then skips towards the door for an untroubled passage to the next round. Can he win this thing and draw level with Wolf’s winning record? After this performance he’d be a pretty safe bet.
Blazing Skull just about makes it past Wraith. Although he had worked so hard to make the tournament Wraith has a smidgen of doubt before entering the cage. Is it really safe to be in there with someone like Blazing Skull? It’s not happened yet since it was fitted but surely at some point that skullcap is going to work loose and being in a confined area, like a cage, is the worst place to be. Wraith uses his invisibility as much as is legally possible to help himself. Confusing Blazing Skull as he spawns at different points. Keeping him mostly in the ascendancy. However things turn dramatically as Bishop Hell waltzes into match. He’d been spotted earlier in the show skulking around. Everyone assumed he’d be going after Pulsar but his purpose is to assist Blazing Skull. Officials try to turn him back but when he threatens to burn them all with HELLFIRE they back off. He makes an instant nuisance of himself foiling an escape attempt by Wraith after an invisibility assisted SUDDEN DEATH. Just as Wraith was about to the exit the doorway Bishop Hell grabbed hold and slammed it back in his face. The impact sends Wraith tumbling back into the centre of the ring. Blazing Skull tries to slip out unnoticed but Wraith just about pulls him back. It is only delaying the inevitable. The blow really took it out of Wraith and gives the wounded Blazing Skull total control. Not long before BURNING TOUCH steals the win. Wraith may of lost but has sent Blazing Skull into the next round with several tokens (5 but will drop 1). Will the outcome lead to a Wraith-Bishop Hell match?
Second Round:
Malice steamrolls Splatter. The draw does its job. Thrusts the Gladiator-Hitmen feud into the OTB spotlight. With a place in the final at stake this will be intense. The Hitmen desperately need Splatter to pull something out the bag. He has always lusted after the hardcore/cage trophy but never been able to win. No better time to start. Winning this match and the overall bracket is worth 7 points. Not that Splatter is the sort to care about Krakan’s overall predicament. He just wants to win the tournament and cause as much pain and suffering as possible along the way. The cage door has barely been clicked shut when they start tearing into each other. Malice immediately shows his power. Splatter is no slouch in the strength stakes but a lazy flick of the wrist sent him into the steel. It’s impossible to fathom how he can cope with Malice as the early pace is unrelenting. A quick win looks on the cards. Splatter offers nothing back. He is being made to look like a rag doll and is thrown all over the cage. Malice deals an Atomic Spike and uses his agility to clamber effortlessly up the side of the cage. Splatter gets to his feet to hint that he might try and pull him back. He is too unsteady though as an attempt to move forwards just results in him staggering backwards and falling over again. Malice marches into the final with barely a mark on him across two matches. At the moment it’s difficult to see how anyone left could beat him.
Blazing Skull defies his injuries to see off Mad Jester. Blazing Skull stopped in his tracks by Wraith. The earlier incident to win the match comes back to haunt him. Wraith unveils himself in the middle of the runway and takes Blazing down with a clothesline. Bizarrely Jester comes out to see what the fuss is about and starts attacking Wraith. As a three way brawl breaks out the officials have much difficulty getting this into the cage. By the time the cage is populated and Wraith is banished from the area by security it is clear Blazing Skull is in pretty bad shape. Jester fails to capitalise though. One pin or escape attempt would probably be enough but never gets anywhere near trying. Blazing Skull smells a chance of his first big GWF glory and makes light of everything that has happened to him so far tonight. A violent crucifix powerbomb offers a chance to then go for BURNING TOUCH. Blazing Skull takes the opportunity and it weakens Jester. Then makes an immediate passage towards the door. Jester manages to clamber over just in time to grab a leg. Blazing Skull is half hanging out as he does this. Unfortunately Jester allowed the other leg to get free and Blazing delivers a ferocious backwards kick with it which catches him flush in the face. Jester instantly releases and drops to the canvas. Meanwhile Blazing Skull drops several feet and lands clumsily on the floor below to take the win. Malice now awaits him in the final. The path taken by each very different as the amount of time Malice has spent wrestling tonight barely amounts to a few minutes whilst Blazing Skull has been through the wars.
Final:
Malice destroys Blazing Skull in just 2 moves to win the cage bracket. Blazing Skull reaches the final in better shape than he was in the last round having been able to shed another token. But he’s still carrying 3 which is not a good way to be starting against Malice. The young Gladiator has been absolutely devastating so far tonight. Rumours of a planned Lords of Fire ambush on Malice circulate to give Blazing Skull a fighting chance. However it doesn’t materialise. Maleph may be a supporter of violence and carnage but even he may realise deep down it is best not to make possible enemies of the Gladiators. No good can come of it. With all that said an incredible thing happens. Malice hits Blazing Skull with a Gladiator Piledriver in the first move of the match. The impact loosens the skullcap visibly (double 6 rolled). Malice walking a tightrope now as an explosion could happen any moment. The Gladiators are trained to ignore fear and he continues despite the risk. The very next move is FIELDS OF MALICE. Since Blazing Skull already has tokens it’s the less risky variant but it’s enough to win the match in just 2 moves. Malice calmly strolls out though the door. In the background an explosion occurs as Blazing Skull’s head detonates in a delayed reaction. Malice calmly brushes a small fire off his right shoulder and doesn’t look back. Inside the cage Blazing Skull is left hurt as the fires are extinguished. Some of the steel bars are charred and even the ropes had been engulfed in flames. It was a shocking scene. Almost overshadowing what had been one of the most dominant OTB runs of all time. Malice won all his matches with consummate ease and didn’t accumulate a single token.

Card 847 – ONLY THE BEST (Tag) – Polaris Interstellar Stadium:
(The added attractions continue with 3 more matches rather than the traditional 1. Means a 10 card show. Many supercards feature 12 matches so there is even room for expansion in the future. US. Patriot’s IP win aside it’s not the most uplifting event for fans of the heroes. Every single hero tag team bombs in the opening round)
Added Attractions:
US. Patriot beats former partner Dark Justice to take the IP belt. Commando Sam twitchy ahead of this. He is down to the barebones as this is the last belt the team is holding having been so dominant in this respect up until quite recently. Not that DJ is feeling it. Launching into a classic heel promo as he belittles Adam “I wasted years of my life wrestling tag matches when I could of been a singles star. Look at me now. My time teaming with US. Patriot was the worst. My back still hurts from having to carry that team for so long. I always busted my ass in the ring whilst he did nothing to help”. A little side note is that Justice was a bit bummed at not being considered by Commando Sam for OTB given that he is now the teams only belt holder and his win-loss record is outstanding. Word is that a quick hypnosis session with Mesmer swiftly crushed the mutiny. Anyway into the match itself and you know the SUDDEN DEATH feud is getting tense when Omega is out at ringside again. Stepping up his appearances. An incredible 5* battle unfolds. All the early impetus is with Dark Justice and although he missed with SHOCK PROBATION he recovers to hit the move with full gusto. Out of character Omega does a distraction. He does it so badly due to his heroic ideals that it actually works better than expected. The ref looking pretty shocked himself (Commando Sam would later hypocritically accuse Omega of dirty tricks). It gives US. Patriot one last chance to get it going and he doesn’t waste it. Adam brings Justice up to 6 tokens over the course of the next 10 minutes. Mixing up his finishers. Of course Commando Sam is at his own interfering best but the perpetual bombardment gets through the defences eventually. Adam uses FREEDOM FLYER and gets not only the win but the IP belt. For the first time in a long while the Stormtroopers are without any belts. Sam fumes in the aftermath. Are the walls caving in on the team? Amazing considering they’d been so far ahead not all that long ago.
Mutant upsets Wildcat. There is no Cannibal leading out Mutant but Wildcat is still worried about random attacks. With the dangers posed by the Terrorists, Splatter and even the Colonizers towards Savage Kingdom he feels vulnerable. Unfortunately it’s a by product of Vyper bringing heat onto the team. Instructs his manager, Terak, to head back up the runway and take a peek behind the curtain. The call comes back “all clear”. Once Wildcat relaxes it is a real show. Gliding around the ring and going through the full repertoire. He looks all set for a good win after WILDCAT STRIKE. Suddenly Cannibal appears from underneath ring. He was present all along. It costs Wildcat the pin and he loses his rhythm after this. Mutant gets the better of him and finished with an illegal choke hold. (This all happens post match) Wildcat recovers and thinks his aggressors are leaving. Turns his back to talk to Terak which allows Cannibal to attack. Runs at a bewildered Wildcat armed with a knife and fork. Sticks the fork straight in Wildcat’s upper arm. Wildcat pulls it out and then tries to use it on Mutant. It’s carnage until Mollock comes and clears out the ring. Even Wildcat got sent tumbling. Wildcat is leaking blood from where his arm was punctured. The wound is superficial but mentally it may of done more damage. Wildcat thought he was protected but Cannibal still managed to get to him easily. Cannibal laughs when recounting the incident “it’s time people started getting scared of Murderer’s Row again. We are the most dangerous team in the GWF. Those pathetic pets Terak keeps on the team are just part of our food chain. We will devour them”.
Amazonia overcomes Anaxis. Hardly vintage stuff but Amazonia finds a way to win thanks to AMAZON ATTACK. Amazonia has her sights on the women’s belt having been out of the loop for a while now. Will she get a shot?
First Round:
Superiority Complex beat Titan Fury again. Two recent tag champions (and also finalists from last year) both looking to OTB to push themselves into position for another raid on the belts now held by the Gladiators. Traditionally when they meet they are always classics. Every single guy in the ring can wrestle and there is an abundance of agility. Could of been over very quickly as Superiority Complex executes THE PERFECT TAG FINISHER on Dragonmaster. Rising Sun makes a crucial save. With some nifty moves the Titans battle back. Rising Sun taking the fight to them but Superiority Complex are so slippery and good at defensive tags they keep breaking the momentum. Hoping Dragonmaster could come back in and do better than his first stint but he is the weak spot for sure. Gets done with a double team move that damages his neck. Quick as a flash Skinhead goes for BAD ATTITUDE which does the deed against Dragonmaster. Despair for the Titans as they lose two consecutive matches to Superiority Complex and are dumped at the first hurdle.
Find Titan Fury an odd team. Brimming with offensive talent but they are so unpredictable. Can be brilliant or dismal. Seems to be very little in between. After reaching the tag team summit they have dropped off badly since losing the belts and are in a pretty dark place right now.
Thunder and Overkill crushed New Order. Old wounds being reopened as WAR and the Gladiators renew acquaintances. New Order need to be having one of their good days to stand a chance but disagree immediately on who is to start. In the end Dreggs gives ground and retreats to the apron shouting “suit yourself” to Mace. Hold their own in the early stages but then another disagreement as Mace reaches for a tag and gets ignored. He says something that makes Dreggs turn and have a heated conversation with him. As they bicker Overkill simply comes up and smashes their heads together. Overkill decides he wants to now beat on Mace. Pushes Mace’s hand up against Dreggs to register the tag and drags him into the ring. Overkill now picks Mace up effortlessly by the throat. Yet another phenomenal demonstration of power. When he is eventually released Mace is left violently coughing and clutching his larynx. Not that he is given any respite as DECAPITATOR comes next. Mace is finished. Dreggs makes a weak attempt to pull Thunder off the pin attempt but is still groggy. Overkill nonchalantly plucks him off his partner and throws him powerfully through the ropes to the outside. That was just too easy in the end for the Gladiators.
Mace’s bad mood is explained by the fact Destructon 3000 ordered him into the tag bracket this year. He had a one off run in the hardcore/cage bracket last year and enjoyed a shock march all the way to the final where he lost to Buck Steele/Genocide. He had fully expected to be given another crack at it but Destructon 3000 thinks his tag duties are more important.
The Mercenaries win against Coat of Arms in a tight battle. Coat of Arms could be forgiven for having one eye on their big tag title shot on #848. However a good run in OTB will do wonders for their fluctuating confidence levels. The mood in the Champions camp has been so much better in the past couple months. The Mercenaries aren’t going to make this easy though and clearly mean business. Carrying huge replica guns to the ring to display their authority. Alpha Force and Star Warrior are far too experienced to be spooked by that though. In fact Alpha Force draws their ire by kicking the guns out of the ring after they’d been placed underneath one of the buckles. Soldier of Fortune shouts “you’ll pay for that” and beings to grapple. Becomes a very close match. Everyone got equal share in the ring and not much between them. As the match goes past ten minutes (and very few pin attempts) the Mercenaries start to look the more likely. Star Warrior beginning to wilt a bit. Soldier of Fortune diligently wearing him down but his partner, Vigilante, wants in so they can go for the kill. Soldier of Fortune obliges and they perform OPERATION: AMBUSH. Alpha Force attempts to stop the pin but gets smashed with a gun in the face. Star Warrior is then dutifully pinned. They then hold Star Warrior up and also smash him with the gun for good measure. Vigilante points back as they leave and shouts menacingly “that’s what you get for disrespecting our property”. Tough on Coat of Arms but they have got to pick themselves up fast for they have a massive match on the next show.
Ninja Assassins breeze past Panic Attack. Fans watch the curtain like hawks. Wondering what will burst through. Will it be Buck or Genocide? Audible groans as Buck emerges with a blood stained bandage hastily wrapped around his head. Thing look bleak already. The Ninja Assassins are rubbing their hands together on sight of this. They are a well oiled machine and manage to easily cope with the rage and unpredictability of Panic Attack. Within just a few seconds of the bell they manage to isolate Buck. Poor Buck tries to 'hulk' up spontaneously but cannot get it done. There is an immediate pin attempt which Wolf only just breaks up. Not to be undone Hydrax applies Master’s Death Touch. This time Wolf cannot get to him. Daeman has stepped in front with a shuriken to force him to hesitate. The match is won with consummate ease. Wolf wants to retaliate but even he cannot do anything when faced with a deadly weapon. His frustration instead is taken out back in the locker room where an entire room is destroyed. A sad way for the exciting Panic Attack team to end tonight.
Second Round:
Thunder and Overkill wins a long scrap with Superiority Complex. Fascinating duel. On paper it looks a mismatch but Superiority Complex are such a smart team. Many times before they have dug out improbable victories. That’s why they are among the greatest tag teams ever. However this is going to need something extra special. The Gladiators are stronger than ever and supremely confident. They maybe tag champs but OTB is an area that hasn’t fared well in the past (the legendary Brute and Massacre never won the bracket). Thunder is pretty vocal about changing that and wants not only to win but to pulverise the opposition. It would pretty impressive if they match the way Malice brushed everyone aside on the way to his cage bracket triumph. Unfortunately they didn’t reckon on the resistance of Superiority Complex and even came close to losing a number of times. Everytime the Gladiators looked like they were getting a head of steam either Prodigy and Skinhead get a hot tag to dig themselves out of a hole. As the Gladiators get more frustrated they take more chances and make more mistakes. There was even an almighty ref bump which meant it was bedlam and no pins were being counted for a long time. Eventually a reluctant guy steps in to replace and things can continue. The winning sequence isn’t vintage Gladiators. Thunder is hanging on against Skinhead but catches him after a sunset flip is attempted. Grabs his legs and rolls him into a pinning combination. Skinhead just about kicks out but the Gladiators have had enough. Time to finish it once and for all. They setup DECAPITATOR and for once Prodigy isn’t able to stop it as he is slumped on the apron from an earlier battering. Only a roll of 11 or above was going to save Skinhead and unsurprisingly it didn’t come up. The Gladiators march to the final but only just.
Ninja Assassins win a thriller over the Mercenaries. Win this one and it’s pretty clear that the new Ninja Assassins are the real deal. They’ve been outstanding since returning to the ring but had tailed off a little from those early high standards. First thing the Mercenaries do is try to bully them with their guns. Soldier of Fortune sticks it right under the nose of Daeman. Gets more than he bargained for as Daeman produces a katana from within his costume and sticks it under his chin. Soldier of Fortune puts down his toy and gestures with his palms up as if to say “let’s all calm down”. The early psychological battle won by the Ninja Assassins but now they had to back it up in the ring. They sure did that. A long tussle plays itself out but all the best stuff came from the Ninja Assassins. Vigilante took the brunt of their attacks with DOUBLE EDGE SWORD being performed twice against him. Only the efforts of Soldier of Fortune stopping him going down to that move. However the fatigue tokens were accumulating. The Mercenaries didn’t just roll over though. They provided plenty of attacking verve themselves but for some reason their big moves stayed in the locker. When the Ninja Assassins manage another turnover Vigilante looks in trouble. By the time Hydrax used DEATH POINT STRIKE he has 6 tokens. Only his partner can help but this time Daeman draws his katana across to stop Soldier of Fortune coming through the ropes. Big statement from the Ninja Assassins. A date with the Gladiators now awaits and they will be the fresher as Overkill goes into it with tokens (2).
Final:
Thunder and Overkill win a hard fought match over Ninja Assassins to take the tag trophy. Early intimidation as the Ninja Assassins are warned to leave their weapons behind lest they want to become a target of the Gladiators. Darkos would of been mindful of the problems that could cause. However the way the Ninja Assassins have been going nobody would bet against them using their skills to pull this off. The Gladiators look visibly irritated at all the martial arts nonsense. They only know one way to fight and that’s power and brawling. The first big moment comes when the Ninja Assassins double team Overkill. Unbelievably he is seen as the weak link. His power more than makes up for the ailments being carried. The martial arts repertoire proving pretty ineffective against him. After this the bout settles down and there is a lot of cancelling out. Both teams excellent of offence but also on defence. It needs something special to try and break this open. This ultimately happens when Hydrax leaps at Overkill but gets grabbed round the throat mid-flight and driven straight back into TURNBUCKLE TRAP. He gets himself free but is momentarily slowed. Overkill wastes him with a Gladiator Piledriver. Then looks at Thunder. That’s a sign and Thunder jumps off the apron and takes out a chair. Comes round behind Daeman and smashes him with it. Then rejoins his partner in the ring. They start the finishing sequence and execute DECAPITATOR. Even though the move is very punishing Hydrax nearly kicked out on his own but was a micro second too late. It’s another trophy for the Gladiators in what is turning out to be a very successful OTB. They accept their trophies and do no celebrating. Perhaps they will wait until they get back to Aethra and are honoured in some militaristic kind of way. Darkos is angry at the loss and the antics of the Gladiators but will take his licks quietly. Deep down he knows the Ninja Assassins have got what it takes and could even soon get a title shot after this latest big impression they’ve left.

Card 848 – ONLY THE BEST (Singles) – Polaris Interstellar Stadium:
(Streets of many planets across the cosmos are empty for OTB. It might even of surpassed the flagship GALACTICON event in terms of the excitement generated. Pegasus making plenty of noise that he will become one of a rare breed to hold both the Heavyweight belt and the OTB trophy at the same time. It’s not been done since 2094. Star Warrior managed the feat twice and Chaos once)
Added Attractions:
Tag champs, Thunder and Overkill, defeated Coat of Arms by DQ. One or two eyebrows raised when Coat of Arms were named #1 contenders. Some people think they only got the shot based on past reputation. Although they have had impressive wins over the Ninja Assassins and the Stormtroopers in recent months. It’s not as if too many hero tag teams have been tearing it up. So maybe they are best of a bad bunch. Star Warrior intends to grasp the opportunity with both hands. To co-hold a belt with his brother would be very emotional. The Gladiators may be hot favourites to retain but they are not taking anything for granted. Total focus on their approach to the ring. The last thing they want to do is undermine their OTB victory by dropping the titles. Overkill makes a crushing gesture with his hands to show Star Warrior and Alpha Force what they are in for. They proceed to deliver on their threats with a completely dominant show. Coat of Arms never got going with Star Warrior being knocked from pillar to post. First Thunder strikes with THE TEMPEST but Alpha Force breaks it up. Then Overkill comes in. Star Warrior gets sent on a short excursion out of the ring. On his return it’s time for TURNBUCKLE TRAP. Again Alpha Force comes in to help his brother but his act of aggression on Overkill leads to a DQ. To make matters worse Overkill just turns and flattens him. Alpha Force reacts to criticism of his interventions by claiming “I had to try and do something. Star Warrior was getting murdered in there”.
Sleeze wins the brotherly battle with Dreggs. Dreggs going solo after New Order struggled to get along again at OTB. Mace needs to cool off. Dreggs doesn’t want to talk about it too much. Other than to say “being around Mace at the moment is not exactly a bag of fun but we’ll work through it. We always do”. The immediate concern is to win the brotherly battle. The animosity between them still far from dying down. Sleeze slurs “even when he was a baby he was a git. And once a git always a git”. Dreggs bites back “time you grew up bro. I’m going to keep knocking you about in the hope that one day I’ll actually knock some sense back into you and you drop those deadbeats you insist on hanging around with”. There’s plenty of passion when they do get it on. Dreggs looks like he is really teaching Sleeze a lesson. With Sleeze moving towards 4 tokens there is surely only one winner but he hangs in there and starts to get a foothold. His recent singles form has been good with a shock success over Raven and that continues. Dreggs starts to lose impetus and Sleeze via a mix of good wrestling and chicanery manages to come through to win thanks to METALHEAD MAULER.
In a run going back a long way that’s 3 singles wins in a row for Sleeze. In fact since changing his gimmick slightly from Metalhead he has won all his matches. Okay he doesn’t wrestle singles matches much but impressive nonetheless. The run has seen him beat Mace, Raven and now Dreggs.
Ms. Liberty pinned Maxine Babe. Maxine looking smoking as usual. Old heat comes bubbling to the surface. Vanity looking to humiliate an old flame by posting provocative photos online from her past as Sweet Thing. Maybe it gets the anger rising as Ms. Liberty really takes it out on Maxine Babe once in the match. Maxine is rooted to the spot as she gets taken down before she can even get into the ring. To be fair she goes on to offer up quite a bit of resistance. Took THE LIBERATOR three times but kicks out each time. But under such punishment it was a matter of time and in the end it’s a Liberty Leap that pins her. More heat post match as Maxine accuses Ms. Liberty of breaking one of her nails and vows to send her the bill for it to be put straight. Ms. Liberty chimes “I’ll break more than a nail next time”.
First Round:
Raven back on the winning trail against Mandrill. A few murmurings when Raven got into the tournament. His form hasn’t been up to scratch and it is suggested that he’s in on reputation alone having been a two time winner in the past. Raven vows to prove doubters wrong by going one better than last year (he lost the final to Janus). He is eager to get things underway. Launching into Mandrill at a frenetic pace. Mandrill manages to deflect some of the early attacks but allows himself to get distracted by crowd monkey chants. He could and should probably of won it by going for one of his finishers but stopped to remonstrate with the crowd. Then a big schoolboy error as he goes to the top for a deathjump. Before jumping makes a dominating gesture allowing Raven to rush over and push him back into the ring. Mandrill tries to get the advantage back but then misses a running clothesline. Raven preys on Mandrill’s lack of composure and executes a Raven Reverse Slam for the win. Terrible month for Mandrill.
Max Shield stuns Chaos in just 4 moves. Max has gone from the high of just before GALACTICON to a huge low after his Genesis team collapsed at the event. A good OTB is what he needs. Everyone has their fingers crossed for him but it seems his luck is still out after getting drawn against Chaos. Although he does have a win against Chaos in the distant past it was dismissed as luck. As Chaos puts it, on learning of the draw, “that won’t happen again. If he wrestled me 100 times he might win one. The other 99 times I will pulverise him”. Those words are still ringing in the ears as they take to battle. Chaos seeks to get it done fast and throws Max to the canvas. Then goes for a falling knee smash but Max rolls out the way. Chaos yelps as his knee impacts the floor. Max doesn’t let him rest, pulls Chaos up with all his might and performs a neckbreaker. It’s then a tardy kick out from Chaos. The big man didn’t look right and Max sensed it. Next up was MAXIMUM IMPACT. Unbelievably Chaos is a moment too late kicking out. A huge shock as this was over in the blink of an eye.
Mayhem causes another surprise as he sees off Pegasus. Pegasus is bursting with pride to be wearing the Heavyweight belt to the match. Perhaps he should of left it at home for Mayhem attacks him in the runway. The belt is ripped off his waist and smashed into the ring post denting it. Mayhem doesn’t ease off as he then gets his chain and wraps it around the neck. This is his way of venting anger from not being able to compete in the cage tournament. Pegasus fights him off and manages to get the chain away. As it falls free a brave official scampers forward to remove it so it can no longer be used as a weapon. A few minutes in Terminus appears in the runway ‘scouting’ his next opponent. It’s unbelievable arrogance to assume he will be winning his own first round match. Someone must of tipped Vengeance for we get a glimpse of him reaching through the curtain to pull him back. Who knows what then went on after that but all eyes back on this match. It is absolutely gripping and takes masses out of both of them. Mayhem is brilliant and really lays it on the line but his big finisher, LEAP OF DOOM, lets him down badly twice. He is well wide of the mark both times. He doesn’t let it slow him down and surges back each time. Pegasus is probably not at his best overall but doesn’t let that stop him attempting PROJECT PEGASUS. Anyone thinking it’s over is mistaken as Mayhem clings on. In between all this drama Mayhem hits DANGER ZONE a few times which take a toll. As the battle goes towards 20 minutes Mayhem grabs an initiative and all the earlier damage dealt finally does for Pegasus. A spine smasher leaves him barely moving and Mayhem manages the pin. Sadly for Pegasus it means the dream double crown of holding the Heavyweight belt and the OTB trophy is over. Big win for Mayhem and finally showing his value to the Hitmen. A mouth watering second round against Vengeance could be about to happen.
Vengeance brutalised Terminus. The former Heavyweight champ against the current CPC champ makes this possibly match of the round. Vengeance stokes things up by trying to attack Terminus when he was spying on Pegasus and Mayhem. All week he has also been saying he has no respect for the CPC belt. Makes no difference and that Terminus will be made to bleed through Eye Cleaver just like anyone else. When the introductions occur it becomes clear that the scuffle from earlier had got quite feisty. Vengeance is sporting a shiner and Terminus is limping. So both well and truly warmed up. As promised Vengeance goes for the eyes. Terminus tries to fight against it but when Vengeance is in this mood there is no stopping him. Unlike the last match which was a marathon this is all over in about three minutes. It’s the beginning of the end when Vengeance pitches Terminus into the ropes. With the mobility of Terminus hindered he is unable to get out the way of a vicious clothesline. Goes down hard. Vengeance straight on him with a Torture Grip and then HELTER SKELTER twice. That’s enough to seal passage to the next round and a big grudge match with Mayhem. Sometimes the draw just comes up trumps.
Second Round:
Raven defeated Max Shield in a match where the heroes threw out the rulebook. Big reception for both. Plenty of sympathisers for them as recent times not been kind. The fact one is now guaranteed a spot in the final is a lift that is well needed. The two heroes shake hands quickly. They want to try and stay heroic but both are desperate to win. How far will they go? The first to show that they will be prepared to go that extra step is Max as the action spills outside. Flinging Raven into the ring post. It’s hardly the most violent act you’ll see but to see Max doing it to a fellow hero is not something that happens everyday. It’s almost as if that act lifts the lid for Raven now tried to do the same. The time for being civil well and truly over. Max then grabs a chair and is about to smash Raven. At the last moment he stops as Raven puts his hands out and shouts “come on Max, let’s calm down. We’re heroes”. Max seems to agree but when Raven puts his hands back down suddenly clocks him anyway. He then discarded the chair and looked genuinely sorry for what he’d done. Some of the crowd heckle him but some also found it funny. Max decided enough is enough and directs the action back into the ring. Raven is wobbling and takes MAXIMUM IMPACT again and again and again. 4 times in all but won’t give up. Max is stunned at such resistance and goes to the top rope. Raven, in the same way he did to Mandrill, manages to get over in time and toss Max down. He then hits BROADSWORD and takes what has been looking an improbable win to make yet another final. After the match Max said he was sorry and wished Raven luck. In a forgiving mood Raven said “no worries. I would of done the same. In the end it was a great match”. Trouble for Raven is he is pretty beaten up. Taking 3 tokens into the final which is worrying.
Vengeance uses all his cunning to beat Mayhem to make the final. Mayhem is pretty busy blabbing about the big win in the last round. How he easily conquered the GWF champion and made him look weak and pathetic. Needs to get focused on this match. The stakes are high because not only is a place in the final on offer but bonus SUDDEN DEATH points, due to the fact this is a feud match, are on offer too. Mayhem can get more favour with Krakan by winning and possibly stand a chance of saving himself from banishment at the end of the year. It’s pretty clear already it’s going to be between him and Splatter despite what he thinks. There is pressure on Vengeance. Although his standing on Aethra is high having led the Gladiators to titles and a big lead over the Hitmen a loss to a traitor like Mayhem will damage his approval rating for sure. Especially as it would come on top of his recent surrendering of the Heavyweight belt. Normally when two villains or two heroes face off the crowd tends to get behind one guy more. However these two have such a checkered past that the hostility maintains itself. Mayhem and Vengeance rise above it. They don’t care what anyone thinks about them outside of their own little inner circles. Focused on each other. Meet in the centre of the ring saying things which are inaudible. Vengeance must of touched a nerve for he mouths something and smiles which causes Mayhem’s face to shrivel and start attacking. In a blazing opening Mayhem comes close to pinning Vengeance in just 2 moves. Vengeance just about manages to draw his fire and turn things around by getting out the way of a turnbuckle smash. It’s smart wrestling. It’s a tactic he employs more than once. Risky but ultimately successful. He is able to slowly see Mayhem beat himself. Just gives a little helping hand with moves like the famed Eye Cleaver. Even with failing sight Mayhem still wrestled wildly. Charging around but Vengeance keeps side stepping and then when he fails Mayhem is damaged enough goes to finish it. Delivers HELTER SKELTER and that’s it. Every Gladiator has now made the final at OTB. Can Vengeance make it a triple triumph? With Raven riddled with tokens the possibility of the extraordinary achievement is a distinct possibility.
Final: Raven defies his exhaustion and run of form to beat Vengeance and take OTB. Raven isn’t being given much chance. The epic confrontation with Max Shield took a lot out of him. Vengeance has had the smoother ride for sure. When Vengeance totally dominates the opening phase it’s just a matter of when and not if. A Vengeance Spasm has Raven in all sorts of pain but Raven refuses to submit. Next up a Gladiator Piledriver and a cover. Miracle kick out from Raven. No way he can take anymore though. Raven knows his body is weak but reasons the best form of defence is attack. If he just tries to hang on defeat will be inevitable. Out of nowhere Raven starts coming back. All bets are off as he rocks Vengeance with BLADERUNNER. Where was all this coming from? Vengeance kicks out the first time it happens. Slightly shocked at this show of energy. He even kicks out the second time. However nothing is going to stop Raven. He does it a third time and Vengeance can’t manage to save himself. As the ref raises the arms of Raven there are sour grapes from Vengeance. He takes possession of the trophy and attacks Raven with it. When the ref gets in his field of vision there is a blow for him too. Vengeance then throws down the trophy and stomps on it. The base splitting away. He leaves with his usual evil smile leaving Raven laying in the ring bleeding from the head. Entire crowd starts a Raven chant urging him to get up. He responds to their call, forcing himself to his feet with the help of the ropes and bravely picks up what’s left of the trophy and hoists it above his head. What a moment and he now becomes the joint most successful wrestler ever in OTB (with Chaos) as this is his third triumph.

GWF REPORT (SUDDEN DEATH 2104 CARDS 845 - 848)
Champions * GWF Galaxian Champ: Pegasus (Top Contender: Chaos or Mayhem) * GWF Tag Champs: Thunder and Overkill (Top Contenders: Ninja Assassins) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: US. Patriot (Top Contender: Malice) * GWF Ladies Champ: Supernova (Top Contender: Amazonia) * CPC Heavyweight Champ: Terminus (Top Contender: Matador of M83) Latest News: Malice stepped up to the plate at OTB. Cruised to the hardcore trophy with probably the most dominant run in the tournament’s history. This guy is hot and has a big future ahead. Then Thunder and Overkill followed up with the tag trophy to give the Gladiators most of the glory at the event ... Chaos gets singled out for criticism. He took Max Shield far too lightly and paid the price with an embarassing loss ... The Hitmen didn’t have much luck. Every member made the second round but none of them was able to go that extra step to a final ... Biggest and best story was Raven though. His inclusion was questioned after a poor run but he answered critics in the best way possible by coming through to win. Surviving punishing matches with Mandrill and Max Shield. In the final he was given no chance against Vengeance with his bruised and battered body. Somehow he pulled it off to prevent a Gladiator sweep. He even stood tall after a brutal and spiteful post match attack with the trophy being used as a weapon. As usual it was a great series of shows. Will next year feature another heavily requested ladies tournament? There was a pilot a couple years back but nothing since. Amazonia has spoken out and said the GWF should get its act together on this, “the women’s title being introduced a few years ago was a great moment but we need more. It is a growing and competitive bracket that needs to be recognised”. The only roadblock is there aren’t quite enough female wrestlers to even out the bracket. With only 7 on the roster it weakens the argument. Hopefully 2105 will see a further increase in active female wrestlers to help push this through.
Pegasus is certainly not shy about promoting himself as champion. He’s had over a million t-shirts printed with himself posing as the champ with words ‘greatest ever’ underneath it. He urges fans to get their orders in as expects them to sell out fast. Chaos cuts a promo a few days later where he proceeds to open a box full of shirts and rips several of them up. Then Dark Justice comes into view and by the sounds of it urinates all over the rest. Chaos is clearly trying to stoke the feud and get himself a title match (which might be difficult after his lousy OTB). Laughs into the camera and declares “Pegasus is no champion. He’s just an impersonator who happens to be wearing the belt. His achievements pale in comparison to mine. Is he man enough to face me again with so much more on the line?” Aside from the main belt the Stormtroopers have designs on recapturing the IP belt. Justice says he should be given a rematch. US. Patriot is up for the challenge but it all depends on Commissioner Grogan. Adam is happy to be weighing in with some gold. He was worried about being seen as a spare part in the team but this success justifies his lofty position. The never ending saga with New Order continued at OTB. Responsible for them getting completely obliterated by the Gladiators. Just made a bad situation worse. Dreggs admits the team is always walking on egg shells around Mace but is determined to make things work, “Mace and I go back a long way. I don’t want to turn my back on all that. We will get through this latest rocky period by wiping the slate clean”. Will this team survive? It’s shelf life has been questioned many times but they are still together. For someone so rich Magnus Colby sure is a scrooge. Puts advertising on the CPC belt in a 6 month deal reported to be worth millions. Spacebook’s famous logo now etched into the expensive leather. It’s pure profit for Colby and Pelf as they refuse to share any of gains among their employees let alone their champion, Terminus, who will be one walking around with the strap. Just more moves to annoy the GWF. Commissioner Grogan makes a short comment “it’s not something we are happy with but at the moment not much we can do. Certainly isn’t something we’ll be doing with our own belts”. Chaos wants a shot at the Heavyweight belt as mentioned earlier. His performance at OTB hardly justified it. Knocks on the Commissioner’s door only to be told he must fight and beat the top contender to get one. Of course Chaos isn’t happy about it “Grogan don’t know diddly squat. Didn’t realise hair loss went hand in hand with loss of brain cells. Too much red tape in this fed. Bet this wouldn’t happen if I was asking the CPC for a shot at their belt”. Gets swiftly fined for his outburst. So Chaos most now take on Mayhem to see who it is. There was more bad news for the Stormtroopers as Malice was installed as #1 contender to the IP belt. That’s a tough first defence for US. Patriot. Justice complains bitterly as he thought he was a shoe-in for a rematch. For what it’s worth Chaos did also contact the CPC to challenge for that belt too. His messages were not responded to. Krakan keeps dodging the question about who will be banished but the way things are he has to start thinking about it. The Hitmen are in a disastrous slump and OTB only served to plunge them further into the mire what with Splatter’s failure against Malice. The Mercenaries with all their past success will surely be immune but Mayhem and Splatter will be on dodgy ground. Mayhem thinks he is untouchable but will be gravely mistaken. Krakan rumoured to of used him as banishment bait (back up insurance if they lose). Of course Splatter has had a love-hate relationship with Krakan in the past and could very well be the one given his marching orders. Krakan seems more than happy to feed him to the wolves by pitching him into most hardcore battles with the Gladiators even if the results have been poor. Makes it all the easier to justify banishing him as can make him a scapegoat.
With things unravelling for Sam’s Stormtroopers it’s been noted that Mesmer is being seen less and less. This could explain the decline. Rumour is that Phantast is on Mesmer’s tale and that’s why he is keeping a much lower profile. Qualitar makes a good point that another possible reason is that his control over Commando Sam is weakening. Sam is still very hostile 99% of the time but he was seen at a show signing some autographs. That was until he spotted someone with a camera and got back into image. Suddenly shouting at the youngsters surrounding him and telling them to clear off. INJURED – Death’s Head (1), Exo-King (TBA); SUSPENDED – none WHOSE HOT … Raven, Vengeance, Malice, Mad Jester, Max Shield, Mayhem, US. Patriot, Amazonia, Supernova, Thunder and Overkill, Ninja Assassins, Superiority Complex WHOSE NOT … Chaos, Mandrill, Vyper, Wildcat, Splatter, Dark Justice, Anaxis, Maxine Babe, Coat of Arms, New Order, Titan Fury SUDDEN DEATH STANDINGS:
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 116-110 Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 49-64 Gladiators-Hitmen 70-29 No Fear-Lords of Fire 28-27 WAR-Rocketmen 45-41 Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 49-37 Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 38-24 Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 13-11 Vanity-Killer Queen 7-4 Dynamo-Scourge 6-4
The Champions are coming to the boil at the perfect time. US. Patriot scoops the IP belt to add to the Heavyweight belt the team already possesses. After trimming the gap substantially over the last couple months they now move into an astonishing lead. Sam is getting mega twitchy now ... Queenie in big trouble against Vanity. Didn’t expect that. There’s still time to turn it round though ... Both Rocketmen and Genesis have a hill to climb in their feuds. Genesis, in particular, needs a lift after GALACTICON still leaves its mental scars ... Cannibal perked a bit after making a small gain on Savage Kingdom but surely someone’s bones are cooked on his team. Gap looks too big... Titans still not hitting the heights of last year. There is still a gap but every month it seems to be diminishing ... The Gladiators are destroying the Hitmen. This one is over. Unbelievable to think at one point the Hitmen had a sizeable lead. Seems a long, long time ago ... Other feuds remained quiet with little or no action.
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: MALICE - It’s been all about the Gladiators this month. US. Patriot had a great month beating Powerhouse and then claiming the IP belt but you just can’t look past Malice. What he did at OTB was simply astonishing. TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: THUNDER AND OVERKILL - Devastating team. Easily retaining their tag titles and also winning OTB which, for Gladiator tag team, is a rarity. No other team comes close to matching them at the moment.

Card 849 – Procyon Sports Pavillion:
Amazonia beats Supernova to take the ladies belt (5*). Despite an up and down relationship in the past these two are currently on good terms. Tonight they share a brief hug but next time they could just as easily be staring daggers at each other. Doubt even exists that their current friendliness can last through the match bearing in mind the gold that is on the line. The lure of a belt can do strange things to a person. Thrilling bout plays itself out. Early impetus is from Supernova after Amazonia nearly got derailed by a ref bump and quick thinking small package. Amazonia managed to weather the early storm and then goes on a relentless period of domination. It doesn’t look like it’ll be her night though as she repeatedly tries and fails to pin Supernova. Given some of the great comebacks seen in the past from Supernova the thinking is if Amazonia keeps failing it’ll come back to bite her. But the big fightback never comes. Supernova is up to an amazing 8 tokens when the end finally comes. Amazonia unloads a Warrior Smash and it is the straw that breaks the camels back. Finally Supernova stays down for the full three count and the ladies championship changes hands yet again. Maybe winning has an influence on the mood as Amazonia is more than willing to ensure her opponent is okay and share some spotlight before accepting her prize. The loose friendship between survives the match.
The Matador overcomes Terminus to regain the CPC belt. Still all being kept in-house. The challenge rolls back round to the Matador. Although Terminus has been keeping a tight grip on the belt it rarely gets seen other than when being defended. Colby and Pelf preferring to keep it at their palace under lock and key. It is the first time it has been seen with the new sponsorship embroidered into the leather. Something which the GWF and traditionalists is not happy about. The CPC would prefer the belt to be on the Matador when they unveil their big plans (whatever they are) and are trying to manoeuvre it onto him before reaching the end of the year. Of course Terminus doesn’t know this and thinks he is the main man. After all the over dramatic ring entrance of not only the wrestlers but the CPC entourage a decent battle begins. Matador proves his class quickly by dominating Terminus. The instinct for Terminus is to leave the ring and alleviate the pressure but this is frowned upon by his employers. His hesitation in deciding what to do allows Matador to hit BULLWHIP and it is so nearly done and dusted there and then. Despite that impressive start Terminus gives some back but in truth he is always second best. The Matador is just having one of those nights where he looks amazing. Using all his talents to keep control. Every now and then he would fire off his finisher again to test the waters on whether he can win it. He’s not one of those guys who can get discouraged if his big move doesn’t do the job and will happily start over again. That tactic is in full use here and it is only on the fourth one that it yields the pin. Typical CPC propaganda as they make a big show of the championship transition. Would they of made such a fuss if Terminus had kept hold of the belt? They seemed happy that Matador was now the face of the corporation. Am sure Terminus would of been made to defend the belt against him over and over again before the year ended until the switch happened. The big problem now is he has to be seen to defend it without it being obvious that they want it to stay on him. Maybe if a loss happens some kind of technicality will be dreamed up. Wraith hands an upset to Bishop Hell. OTB grudge match. Bishop Hell initially looks on song. Dealing with Wraith’s power and weakening him with FLYING CROSS. Wraith also his own worst enemy wasting invisibility attempts. But if there was ever an example of how things can turn in an instant in wrestling this was it. Bishop Hell in total control pitches Wraith into the turnbuckle and goes for a follow up. He gets met with an instinctive boot and is knocked out. Wraith can scarcely believe and collapses on him for the pin. Even Maleph was shocked. Busily flapping around intimidating front row fans he suddenly stops and falls pathetically to the ground on realisation. Big wake up call for the Lords of Fire.
Vanity keeps distance over Killer Queen via a DQ win. It is as if the earlier drama with Dynamo never happened. Vanity is back to showboating. Busy blowing kisses at the crowd (or more specifically the women). Maxine being given the usual lack of respect. Queenie, on the other hand, is cutting down the showboating. Recognising the seriousness of his situation. Playing catch up in this feud with the months slowly running out. Trouble is he tries to hard to punish Vanity and gets disqualified. Queenie outraged as the fussy ref cites too much taking the action out of the ring. Another point dropped. Gap wide enough that Vanity has matches in hand.
Dynamo overcomes Scourge. Dynamo comes out accompanied by Maxine Babe. He is lipstick smudged. Vanity, who is also on to wrestle later, comes out and accuses him of touching his babe. Dynamo says “you’ve got the wrong end of the stick. There’s no way I’m getting involved with her or your den of debauchery. She’s not even my type”. Vanity grabs Maxine angrily by the arm and leads her away. Dynamo tries to go after them but is stopped in his tracks by Scourge. He manages to get his concentration back on the match. Largely dominating. Scourge stubbornly resists several attempts at MUSCLE RIPPER but Dynamo sticks with it til it works. After a sticky start to this feud Dynamo is looking comfortable now. The reality is Dynamo was found by Killer Queen having a power snooze shortly before the match and put a smudge of lipstick on his face and chest to cause an intentional ruckus. It’s genius.
Titan Attack comfortably beat the Stormtroopers. Routine win. Scion looking great and wrestling with high energy. Almost a blur he is being that quick with the attacks. Giving Ursa Major a good springboard to come in and beat Powerhouse with a high cross body. The Stormtroopers have been poor soldiers for Commando Sam throughout and this latest performance underlines that.

Card 850 – Procyon Sports Pavillion: (Fans go home happy. Any match 2* or above is considered to be decent and they all met that criteria here. Not often that happens) Chaos beats Mayhem in a contenders match. More signs that Krakan might be about to drop Mayhem. No ringside accompaniment and then later picking holes in the performance, “he lacks key ingredients to be a true Hitmen member”. With a potential shot at the Heavyweight belt at stake it was an astounding stance to take. However maybe the reason is because a lottery attack was being planned as Chaos meets an old friend. Chaos is fairly dominant in the match itself. The victory needed for the title shot coming by way a fifth BOW OF DEFEAT. Sam then saw Splatter coming and tried to intercept but on this occasion it’s a bullet he was unable to take. Chaos gets hammered with Arsenal. Needs several strikes before he goes down to a knee but after this the rest of the body rapidly follows. Mayhem even joins in. With the chain getting pulled round the neck of Chaos. Splatter is just winding up for a head shot on Chaos which would do untold damage when Commander Sam pulls a gun on them. Not knowing if loaded or not Mayhem and Splatter back off but plenty of damage is done. Chaos tries several times to get to his feet again but stumbles each time. Medical assistance is needed with several men required to hoist Chaos onto the waiting stretcher. The main area of concern for Chaos is the legs as that’s where most of the hits landed.
Bad news for Chaos. A 6 card injury. Will be even be able to challenge for the Heavyweight belt now? If he is weakened Sam may prevent him facing Pegasus as it could give up crucial points too easily. Commisioner Grogan is mulling over any disciplinary action towards Splatter but will wait 3 cards so Splatter can fulfil some prior bookings.
Coat of Arms beats Superiority Complex easily. The mission critical matches keep on coming. Coat of Arms have had plenty of critics since they started as an official team. Star Warrior says “we used to take it to heart. But now we are not going to put pressure on ourselves. Wrestle each match as it comes and see where it takes us”. It’s as if that statement completely liberates them. The match becomes a total walkover. Star Warrior starts against Skinhead and doesn’t give him a moments peace. Several pin attempts in the opening couple of minutes. Very quickly leads in to ENDGAME. Prodigy is shocked when Omega, of all people, foils his pin save attempt. Cutting across him at a crucial time. He takes a clothesline for his troubles but it’s a small price to pay. Skinhead has no chance of kicking out. It’s a hugely embarrassing loss and continues the downward spiral of the Stormtroopers. Commando Sam throws his battle helmet to the floor and storms off alone. He suspects the game is up. Splatter defeated Death’s Head in a Titan Death match. A cool match made possible by Splatter’s lottery. Death’s Head is a creature of habit, indulging in a ceremonial worship of a sacred skull in the ring. The performance rudely cut short by Splatter. The shackles are off being Titan Death. Looks like Death’s Head might be getting his revenge. Matching Splatter’s wild brawling and smashing one of his skulls over Splatter. It disintegrated on impact. Splatter’s head was getting a real going over as FUNERAL MARCH was unleashed on two different occasions. Splatter relied on his rage to survive these and fight back. Catches Death’s Head on top of the turnbuckle ready to come down him. The skeletal sight of Death’s Head perched up there was really quite eerie. But Splatter didn’t care. Takes a hold of his trusty weapon and then with his free arms throws Death’s Head off. Then the killer blow with MEET ARSENAL. A sickening crack as it impacted with Death’s Head. Despite the ferocity of the blow Death’s Head was a whisker away from kicking out in time. It’s a good win for Splatter but nothing that’s going to help his standing on the Hitmen team. That relationship looks pretty broken.
Genesis Prime get a win over the Watchmen by DQ. Wraith back in his usual tag role after a brief flirtation with singles action. It could be a future direction for him but he is needed to try and help bring Genesis back from the brink against the Colonizers. Both he and Vertigo look strong tonight. For sure they are the better team. It doesn’t get the clean end they deserved. Tocsin triggers a brawl and as soon as he introduces a weapon the bell goes off. It’s a win for Genesis Prime as a result but it’s only by DQ and they need more. Nevertheless Wraith gives the crowd something to enjoy as spooks Ram with his invisibility trick. As Ram sprints up the runway he crashed into an invisible brick wall. Wraith then crystallises into view. The tip of Ram’s horn is broken by the collision which will upset him seeing as he has paid huge amounts in the past on cosmetic repairs to them. The Watchmen don’t seem to care and walk right past their ailing bodyguard. Brainstorm wins against Blizzard by DQ. A surprise classic. Brainstorm has all the tricks and puts 5 tokens on Blizzard before getting answered back. Blizzard is getting the crowd in his side with his determination not to lose and taking HITTING THE BOOKS so many times. However he soon blots his copybook by using his much maligned Ice Attack. It brings about instant disqualification and worse still will get him yet another suspension. Still cannot be relied upon by his team.
Jack of Diamonds upstages Mad Jester. Jack showing no ill effects from not having his father with him. Handles Jester with ease. Wearing him down with both finishers before ending it on a Throne Strap.

Card 851 – Andromeda Nebula Pavillion: Interplanetary champ, US. Patriot, clings onto the belt as he beats Malice by DQ. Nobody wanting to be in Adam’s shoes right now. Malice has been an absolute beast in the ring and the way he cantered to OTB victory in the cage bracket has caught everybody’s attention. He is hotly tipped to take the IP belt here. US. Patriot needed a game plan to stand any sort of a chance. The first was to bring Ms. Liberty out. The hope that this would distract and nullify Thrash better than Omega would. Good idea in theory but ends up being a hindrance as spends many moments looking out for her safety. No chance of stage fright from Malice with gold on the line. Attacks the match in the same way as always. Frenzied pace. Mix of agility and power. He is well in control and US. Patriot, being distracted by Thrash harassing his wife, isn’t able to respond. After taking a particularly lethal blow Adam manages to roll outside and into the arms of a concerned Ms. Liberty. In a moment of madness Thrash attacks them both. It costs the match as a DQ is called. Security prevent it descending into anything worse forcing Malice and Thrash to back off through sheer weight of numbers. It was a fatal error from Thrash. If she’d of stayed hands off this would surely of been a first title win for Malice. Dark Justice beat Vyper (3*). Mesmer is back. Vyper says he won’t be fall to his dark psychology and tricks. However the first influence has already taken place. Mollock seems agitated and refuses to remain at ringside. Terak cannot seem to calm him down and is forced to take him off. Leaves Vyper all alone and a bit bemused. Things would soon get worse. The match itself was fantastic with failed finishers and a ref bump. Justice ends up edging it via SHOCK PROBATION (+1) but it’s what happened afterwards that will linger in the memory. Mesmer seems to be fixing his gaze on Vyper. Not much thought about it until Vyper goes to pick up his bag with his snakes inside and then throws it down in terror. His leg gets caught in the rope and Spot slithers over him. Vyper is frozen with fear. Terak who had been working on Mollock has to rush back to the scene and assist the terrified Vyper. Manages to lift Spot off and leads Vyper away by the hand. Vyper is shaking and sweating profusely. The bag of snakes get left behind and has to be retrieved by a poor worker. Chaos defeated Max Shield by DQ. Chaos has been raging over Max’s luck at OTB. Having bragged that a past loss was a once in a lifetime event he ends up being humiliated as lightening struck in the same place. He vows to tear Max apart in this one and defy the lottery related injuries he sustained on the last show. Max indulged the challenge as another strong showing could put him back in the title picture following his GALACTICON failure. He certainly seems chirpier than he’s been for a couple of months. Although that enthusiasm soon dampens. True to his words Chaos is like a wrecking machine. Takes a while to kick into gear due the bruising in his legs but plows through the pain barrier. Once he does get going it is relentless. The token count of Max rockets dangerously. He is doing well to hold on as long as he does. Chaos angrily throws Max outside to change up the battering. He then applies BOW OF DEFEAT out there whilst Commando Sam keeps breaking the ref’s countdown to avoid double count-out. Max is going beetroot as he tries to hold on against the move. Worried for his friend Buck Steele comes out and puts a chair across the back of Chaos to force a break of the hold. It is an instant DQ but as Buck later said “didn’t matter. Max’s safety was my priority. He is such a trooper he would of held on but at risk of serious damage”. Chaos called it a cowardly act but feels he has redeemed himself by showing his authority so as not to pursue a further rematch. He certainly has gripes with a few people such as Splatter, Max and Buck but his eyes are firmly fixed elsewhere at the moment.
Manslaughter breaks the pain barrier of Draconian Sheik. As usual with Drac the lights are on but nobody’s home. The Terrorists lead him down the runway but Drac almost jumps into the crowd. He spotted a balloon and wanted to attack it. They just about get him into the ring. However he then either thinks the ref is his opponent or just feels like attacking him. His actual opponent, Manslaughter, chooses this moment to attack. Unwittingly helping the ref. This gets Drac’s attention in the right place and the match can go ahead. It was all before the bell so that’s why there was no DQ called. The Terrorists immediately make their mark assisting Drac in Terrorist Attack. Manslaughter could of done with Darkos to help him but he is absent. Apparently planning but more likely out of fear. Then cops a sharp object being used against him. It’s brutal in the first few minutes but Manslaughter does brilliantly to fight back. Once the power moves start happening Drac can’t cope. Manslaughter goes onto win with SNAP, CRACK, POP. The Terrorists didn’t make a move. Maybe they didn’t expect Drac to submit so fast.
X-Termination stroll to a win over New Order. The on/off relationship of New Order continues. Here they are back to being buddies. X-Termination stoke up the fire by falsely claiming they’ve been out drinking with Mace and he spent all night bad mouthing the WAR team and spilling secrets. When they enter the ring Grunge walks right up to Mace and says “hey bud, have a bottle”. Mace pauses and everyone wonders what he’ll do. Then a cheer goes up as he swats it away sending the bottle smashing into one of the turnbuckles. It’s drenched in alcohol. It’s at this point the ref clamps down. Confiscates all the bottles. Sleeze was carrying a six-pack. With attentions diverted both Sleeze and Grunge suddenly double team Dreggs. He’s caught totally unawares. Mace is pushed towards his spot in the corner by the ref. He stands horrified as X-Termination destroys his partner. Dreggs never got out the ring and is beaten with HEADBANGER’S BALL. Mace found any attempt to get in the ring to help foiled. He angrily remonstrates with Destructon 3000 to do something. Destructon 3000 is very much like Omega in that respect. Plays it by the book and physical actions are an extreme rarity. Tonight is no exception. As a result the match is lost. Johnny Rocket celebrates wildly with his guys right in the faces of New Order. This feud is so close. Every point is crucial.
Titan Attack have to work hard to down Upstart Punks by DQ. Their first match since the Punks shocked Titan Fury. They are still riding that wave. Scion Nexus say they will burst their bubble and gets a laugh when calling them the Upstart Skunks. Romulus just responds that the Punks are looking forward to beating another Titan team bragging “this should be easier considering it’s their B team”. For a while the Punks do threaten another shocking upset. They are well on top initially. The Titans struggling to find a rhythm. Scion Nexus even has to kick out after PROPULSION PILEDRIVER. Thankfully that serves as the wake up call needed. The Titans gradually get themselves in control and after TWIN HAZARDS leaves Romulus staring down the barrel of defeat Taurine storms in with a pin save. The ref tries to send him back but gets clobbered in the process and the Punks are rightly disqualified. Ursa Major is left nursing a nasty bump on the head after Romulus had driven a knee in the back of his head after having assaulted the ref. Scion makes him pay with a spectacular dropkick that sent him flying out of the ring.

Card 852 – SATURDAY NIGHT STARSLAMMERS – Andromeda Nebula Pavillion: (INTRO … Johnny Rocket: "Hey there dorks, it's Rocket here doing the beat tonight and man am I glad I don't have to share the booth with that blockhead Qualitar. He's such a nuisance, I just can't do my job properly with him around. However there is some bad news because you'll unfortunately be seeing him later on when he speaks to patch face ahead of a massive 4 Weapons match." … Thantos: "I presume you are referring to Pulsar? Cos' if you are I may not like it. Now just get on with your job of presenting the show before you upset me … Johnny Rocket: “Alright, alright. It was a joke. You’re getting cranky with old age. So we’ve got a pretty cool show with two title matches. Would be even cooler if one of my guys was involved but at least that CPC belt isn’t poisoning the show. That thing needs to go in the trash” ... Thantos: “for once I agree with you” ... Johnny Rocket: “steady old timer people might think we are friends” ... Thantos: “friends? You wish. I’d never be friends with a crook like you. Why don’t you tell us all what really happened with KronoScam? Maybe a quick stint in MASTERLOCK will jog your memory” ... Johnny Rocket: squirms under questioning, “Erm. No comment. You can’t touch me. The GWF would ban you for life if you did. I have some pretty powerful friends. Anyway it’s time for the matches. Let’s go down to the ringside.” For what it’s worth Johnny spends the rest of the show antagonising Thantos and making underhand comments. During the 4 weapons match Thantos was getting very edgy and when Johnny had the audacity to criticise Pulsar for losing so decisively finally lost his rag. He put Johnny in a headlock and refused to release it. Poor Johnny had to spend the rest of the broadcast commentating whilst lodged inside the tricep of Thantos. It was actually quite funny to see Thantos balancing the mic and monitor on his lap so Johnny could still do his job and call the matches. Gets no sympathy from the GWF when filing a complaint against Thantos. The consensus being Johnny had got what he deserved) (THE GAUNTLET ... feat. PULSAR ... It’s a popular ovation for Pulsar. He still has time for his fans and acknowledges them. Gets off to a frosty start though as Pulsar warns Qualitar there will be no questions about the Titans today. He is hear to talk about SUDDEN DEATH and No Fear’s battle with the Lords of Fire only. Qualitar gives assurances on this and things get underway … Qualitar: “Welcome. Let’s get straight to the chase. Your feud with the Lords of Fire is never far from controversy. The latest being the arson attack on Brymstone. I wonder if the individuals responsible knew you guys weren’t in the vehicle or maybe they just didn’t care. Did it effect you?“ … Pulsar: “in a strange way I like it when the Lords of Fire do some of their stuff like when our vehicle was torched. I know full well that Maleph was behind it. The actions smack of desperation and it’s because we are winning the feud. They know we are better than them” … Qualitar: “I concur. If Archon hadn’t been so badly injured in the first half of 2103 you’d be streets ahead. There can only be one winner in my eyes” ... Pulsar: “we are very confident. There are plenty more battles to come before the year is out and we have to keep up our high standards but we can do it. The chance to retire that scum, Bishop Hell, is too good to pass up. He is a menace to society and I will never forgive him for what he did to my eye” ... Qualitar: “you got my support for sure. We need rid of guys like these in the GWF. How about the tag team belts? You and Archon make a pretty good team but you’ve not really tried to win them” ... Pulsar: “a title shot would be a bonus but it’s not the most important thing. Winning the feud is. That’s why we wrestle plenty of singles matches with a hardcore flavour too” ... Qualitar: “of course. Like tonight. You’ll be facing Bishop Hell in a dangerous 4 weapons match. Are you not worried you are playing into his hands? Plus Maleph and Blazing Skull are also around. You could get outnumbered by them if you don’t watch your back” ... Pulsar: “I’m every bit as hardcore as he is. I’d say the advantage lies with me. He better be careful because I will use ACID RAIN as many times as I can. There’s nothing to stop me. If Blazing Skull or Maleph come near me they’ll get the same treatment” ... Qualitar: “cannot say I blame you for that attitude. Bishop Hell needs to realise that if you play with fire you get burned” ... Pulsar: “yes he will be made to suffer. Anyway I don’t mean to be rude but the match time is almost upon me. I must make some last minute preparations. Thanks for having me on and not mentioning you know what”. With that Pulsar drops the mic and leaves. Qualitar seemed a bit bummed as he had more questions but ultimately he understood) Heavyweight champ, Pegasus, sees off the injured Chaos. Talk of Chaos breaking down from his injuries ahead of this match are greatly exaggerated. There was no way he was going to pass up a shot at the gold and would wrestle by hook or by crook. Commando Sam inwardly is dreading this. Fully expecting more points to be given up. He tried at the last minute to get Massif installed as the ref but was denied. Massif is on the GWF black book and not currently being given any officiating duties. Pegasus strides to the ring full of confidence. He is loving life as the champ and finally being able to fully deliver on his status as the top hero. His shadier side will mean he’ll never be truly idolised in the way the likes of Star Warrior and Wolf are but he is unquestionably the most talented guy. Just hadn’t been delivering the belts to back it up until now. When Chaos gets announced gasps go up. Emerges through the curtain on crutches. How had his injuries gotten worse? He’d looked in some pain against Max Shield on the last show but had been mobile enough. For sure this was intended to be a weapon at some point. Omega asks the ref to confiscate it but gets refused. The ref’s hands are tied as he is handed a medical report and a waiver against the GWF weapons policy. Thus permitting Chaos use of the crutch to help with his mobility for coming to the ring down the long runway. Pegasus perhaps should of been thinking to move Chaos about as much as possible. The leg injuries didn’t effect the power of Chaos so he still had that advantage. However over confidence may of accounted for Pegasus going in close. Unleashes some hefty blows which are just shrugged off much to his annoyance. Chaos then strikes first blood by grabbing him and nailing Indestructible Drop. Looks ominous as he tries a pin which although kicked out of easily enough means he moves to level 3 offence more or less straight away. Normally that’s the beginning of the end but strangely Chaos doesn’t go for his finisher and tries some other moves. Commando Sam groans as it’s an opportunity missed. Pegasus manages to get out of trouble and perhaps learning from his earlier mistake starts to pick Chaos off from distance. Nothing too dramatic happens for a few minutes but then Pegasus sweeps Chaos off his feet and latches on with a Scorpion Death Lock. The move has Chaos in agony. His leg injuries accentuating the pain. Commando Sam desperately grabs the crutch and runs into the ring. Just as he lifts it over his head to bring it down on Pegasus it is ripped from his grasp. Omega had entered the ring to a huge cheer to stop him. A shocked Sam turns around and gets a blast from the crutch instead opening a cut on his balding head. The ref lets it all go reasoning the crowd doesn’t want to see a DQ and neither wrestler got attacked by the managers. With Sam down there is nothing to save Chaos who hangs on for another twenty seconds or so but has to submit. He’ll be lucky not to have worsened his injuries after this. Needs helping from the ring (as does Sam) and looks as a sorry sight. Kind of sums up the dire situation the Stormtroopers find themselves in. Pegasus stood alone in the ring with his belt. Omega lets him have the moment. The fan reaction to Pegasus is excellent. Has his ups and downs with them but tonight they love him. Tag champs, Thunder and Overkill, keep the belts by beating the Ninja Assassins via DQ. The Ninja Assassins do their homework on the Gladiatiors as they look totally prepared for the match. Their manager, Darkos, has been compiling detailed dossiers on the Gladiators since their OTB clash and with such a plethora of information feels they cannot lose. Given the devastation seen from the Gladiators of late the colour commentary team calls him delusional for making such pledges. Once the bells goes the teams start with a 4 man brawl. The ref just about has a modicum of control. It is clear that double teaming is very much on the mind of the Ninja Assassins. Working together at every opportunity to deal with Overkill’s size. The chance of a DQ is greater but it’s worth the risk. The Ninja Assassins are also constantly trying the switch but the ref is eagle eyed. For all their efforts though they cannot make much impression. The Gladiators are just too hardcore and too powerful. When the Ninja Assassins realise this they try to use weapons to gain an edge. Daeman brawls intensely with Thunder outside the ring and then attempts to use nunchucks. Darkos cannot conceal this. Absolutely nothing was getting past this ref tonight. The title shot ending in tatters with a disqualification. Also at what price? Trying to use a weapon against a Gladiator can be tantamount to a death wish. There may of been a reaction there and then from the Gladiators but Hydrax saves Daeman’s bacon by levelling Overkill with a flying kick. It sends the big man backwards into Thunder and gives the Ninja Assassins and Darkos enough time to flee the scene. Bishop Hell annihilated Pulsar in a Four Weapons of Destruction match. The feud between No Fear and Lords of Fire has featured by some margin the most special matches. Here was another one. Bishop Hell was visibly excited to have the chance to use several weapons on his hated longtime enemy Pulsar. Of course Pulsar is a bit of a hardcore icon these days and harbours similar glee at the prospect of such utensils. It’s clear the match type is really over with the fans too. Sadly Pulsar shot himself in the foot signing this. Bishop Hell could do anything he wanted. That included setting on Pulsar before the official start time. Word is he got to him behind the curtains with Blazing Skull and Maleph. Poor Pulsar didn’t have anyone with him what with Thantos being in the commentary position. The beating left him in a bad way to begin. Bishop Hell rams home this advantage and makes a point of using the electrified turnbuckle as his favoured weapon of choice. With the tokens rising dangerously Bishop Hell then goes on a run with his deadly finishers. Both HELLFIRE and FLYING CROSS used numerous times. Pulsar, to his credit, keeps coming back for more but eventually just seizes up. Bishop Hell launches at him with a running lariat. It’s not the most spectacular move on which to end it but does the job. He wins without picking up a single token. Pulsar will be injured for 4 cards after this which is a double whammy. Colussus prevails over Blazing Skull by DQ. Colussus has been a bit of a forgotten man in 2104 but he aims to remind everyone that he is still a big player and very important to the Champions. Sees Blazing Skull as typical of the villainous scum poisoning the GWF and can see just why No Fear is fighting him so hard. Needs to be very vigilant as Maleph does the usual thing of terrorising all and sundry. Then during the match loiters with intent. Always looking like he might strike at any time which doesn’t bode well for Colussus. Despite the threat Colussus is in good form and comes close to a clean win numerous times from CYBORG DEATHBLOW. Blazing Skull is on the ropes but using his hardcore skills comes back into it and has a big moment with BURNING TOUCH. Colussus stays alive though. It is becoming a great contest but the longer it goes the more likelihood that Blazing Skull will try something dastardly. That becomes reality as a brawl triggers and Maleph orchestrates the carnage by encouraging Blazing Skull to go for weapons. Chairs and tables are thrown and when one whistles past the ear of the ref enough is enough. Match over.
Dynamo squashed Vanity. After some of the dramas that have taken place it would be interesting to see who Maxine Babe chooses to valet for. She doesn’t come out with either guy but does still show up. Getting introduced separately. Suddenly the announcer reveals the winner will win her heart in a last minute stipulation. What a love story this is turning out to be. Dynamo is obviously very smitten for her turns in his best match for many years. Almost won in two moves with his Dynamo Rib Crusher. Vanity cannot cope but it seems maybe Maxine Babe may not be ready to leave him after all. The next time Dynamo tries to pin Vanity she distracts the ref. Dynamo looks perplexed but carries on regardless. He goes for MUSCLE RIPPER next and Vanity easily submits to hand Dynamo the simplest of victories. The match won Dynamo then offers his hand to Maxine but she refuses to take it. Dynamo angrily leaves the ring after initially looking like he might slap her for playing games with him. Maxine doesn’t care and tends to Vanity. The crowd are even on Dynamo’s side and give both her and Vanity lots of grief after this pantomime they have contrived. Matador sees off Gila. No sign of the CPC belt so presumably not online but there was no official statement from Pelf Palace. Some wrestling websites are saying the Matador getting the itch for bigger matches outside the CPC? The big plan being regulary spoken of will need to be dramatic as the Matador could be off in 2105. He doesn’t like not being able to compete for the more lucrative GWF belts. Maybe this is why Colby and Pelf have worked so hard to manoeuvre their belt back on him to keep him content within the corporation. The Matador is a sucker for gold and might just be placated for as long as the belt resides round his waist. This was an interesting match to take on. Looking for someone to face and keep some sharpness against a wrestler outside of the CPC. Gila cannot believe his luck when selected as the opponent. The huge entourage so often associated with CPC guys these days is largely absent. Only Reynard B. Guile this time. The snivelling little manager (or whatever his corporate title is these days) never misses a match. Gila actually got a few good shots in at the start but it was only a false Dawn. No way he was going to keep the Matador at bay for long. When Gila goes for a neckbreaker the Matador counters with a running torpedo and gets the win.
Brainstorm pinned Eagle. Fair play to Destructon 3000. He has really entered into the spirit of the scoring system of the feud. Pitching Eagle into action regularly even though he is not a reliable points getter. Sadly it was more points dropped again placing great pressure on the rest of the team. Eagle battled hard and is struck with HITTING THE BOOKS twice but refuses to go down to such a dastardly move and kicks out both times. Hopes fleeting though. Brainstorm keeps up the offence and seals the win with Prof’s Brain Teaser. Despite winning Brainstorm gets very angry about the speed of the ref’s counts after his finishers. Claims of bias. He might have a point for when the tape is checked on the late night highlights show MIDNIGHT MADNESS it looks like Eagle didn’t kick out in time second time around. Although the illegal nature of the move doesn’t win Brainstorm any sympathisers.
Wildcat and Terak working well together to beat Vault of Horror by count-out. Some problems with Vyper forces Terak back into the ring instead. Terak struggles with the pace. It is only when Wildcat enters the ring that the magic happens. Dazzles in his dealing with Mutant. Gets angered at Cannibal’s intrusion foiling an almost certain pin after connecting WILDCAT STRIKE. Kept the pressure on and ends up seeing Mutant get counted-out after it got wounded and then went nuts. Cannibal couldn’t get Mutant back under control quickly enough for it to get back in the ring.
DARK MATCHES
Killer Queen beats Cycle Hog. Hog has ballooned again. He rides his bike to the ring whilst waving a double cheeseburger. Then waddles into the ring but refuses to engage until he had found his ketchup bottle in which to load his burger. Queenie managed to get to it first and squirt in Hog’s face. Hog’s reaction is to open his mouth as wide as he can to catch as much of it as possible. Poor ref tries to intervene but slips on the floor which is covered. It’s a total farce. By the way there was a match in the end which Killer Queen won. Despite having the wind knocked out of him on more than a few occasions Queenie was able to use WARP SPEED and pin Hog. Supernova defeated Cassandra by DQ. Nothing to say other than Supernova was pleased to win as her confidence needed a little jolt.

GWF REPORT (SUDDEN DEATH 2104 CARDS 849 – 852)
Champions * GWF Galaxian Champ: Pegasus (Top Contender: Raven) * GWF Tag Champs: Thunder and Overkill (Top Contenders: Titan Attack) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: US. Patriot (Top Contender: Dark Justice) * GWF Ladies Champ: Amazonia (Top Contender: Ms. Liberty) * CPC Heavyweight Champ: Matador of M83 (Top Contender: Terminus) Latest News: Mesmer casts his net beyond the boundaries of the Champions and Stormtroopers. Casting a spell to make Vyper terrified of his own snakes. With the Stormtroopers failing is he trying to get in with Cannibal and his oddball team or was this just a random piece of showing off? Rumours that Phantast is closing in on him also continue to circulate.
Drama as Splatter’s lottery attacked Chaos again. He’s hit Chaos quite a few times over the years, beginning to think he’s got a death wish. With both the Hitmen and Stormtroopers in precarious positions in their respective feuds will this lead to anything more? Chaos doesn’t take acts against him lightly but the Stormtroopers need points and zero distraction. There is also the Heavyweight belt obsessions that Chaos is carrying. He is desperately trying to win it. Although Chaos may decide Splatter cost him in his latest title shot and see that as justification to seek revenge. Mandrill is another individual desperate to capture the Heavyweight belt. It is at the top his bucket list. He makes a bold pledge to capture the belt before the end of 2105 or will consider quitting the GWF. What an incentive that is for Genesis to try and stop him doing so. Of course if this happens will Mandrill really carry out his threat? Plus it could be safer to keep him in the GWF. With more time on his hands there could be even more persecution of the citizens of Omicron.
The GWF officially rejects the request of Darkos to have only the Ninja Assassins compete in points scoring matches. So with immediate effect the likes of Zouave, Manslaughter and Enigma must start catching up and signing matches against the Titans. Darkos calls it a witch hunt against the Masked Assassins. Darkos is also in the news for riling the Gladiators. He doesn’t want to make an enemy of them but at the same time doesn’t want the Ninja Assassins denied title opportunities. For now he is trying to eat humble pie for the actions of Daeman and Hydrax and says things just got blown out of proportion. Of course from the Gladiators there is stonewall silence so no-one knows what they are thinking.
CPC bottlenecked. So much talent but all being wasted with this in-house competition for its own custom belt. Every wrestler getting twitchy. Colby and Pelf throwing more and more money at the problem. Their big plan needs to be delivered sooner rather than later. In the short term there is a plan to concoct something for SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN and push their guys into the spotlight. Reynard B. Guile almost spilt the beans in his weekly blog and admits it is being worked upon. Exo-King will make his return to ringside with Jack at SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN. He is touched by all the get well wishes he received during his time out. This is the next big event on the calendar. Big matches signed already which will be totally feud focused ... Pegasus and Colussus-Chaos and Heracles in the main event. It’ll be a lumberjack match. As if that wasn’t cool enough the lumberjacks will feature managers and females. So the full cast list is Coat of Arms, Superiority Complex, Omega, Sam, Supernova and Anaxis. Could be last roll of the dice for Sam’s Stormtroopers ... US. Patriot-Dark Justice. One of the most intriguing matches. They are set to clash again for the IP belt with special match stipulations likely to be added. Adam wants it to be a cage match but Justice is pushing for something even more hardcore ... Hitmen-Gladiators in an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. This is huge. The Hitmen look toast already but maybe they can give themselves some hope. Needs to be a total wipeout of the Gladiators though ... Wolf and Max Shield-Animen Uprising in a Titan Death match. Wolf is really stepping it up as he tries to haul Genesis back from the dead. It’s pretty likely he won’t hang around in the time after the year is up but he wants to work his socks off til the bitter end ... Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row in a Battlezone. Finer details still to be decided ... Raven-Holocaust. With the feud so close this is critical ... Mad Jester-Jack of Diamonds. Anybody’s guess on what type of craziness will Jester bring this time around ... CPC Heavyweight title match featuring the Matador. This is unconfirmed and flies in the face of the event being point scoring feud matches. Magnus Colby thinks such match is a certainty, just a case of dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s. Many more still be announced.
(Often I fully book matches long before the event itself. This time I’m keeping a few open slots just in case anything happens with the dice in next few shows. Think that will be a good tactic going forwards)
Slow burning side feud possibly developing between Thantos and Johnny Rocket. After headlocking Johnny during a recent show there is afters. Johnny rants that Thantos has no business assaulting him like that and wants action taken. When nothing is done he threatens to take matters into his own hands. Presumably that means sending X-Termination after No Fear. Of course Thantos has bigger things to deal with in the shape of the Lords of Fire. Could do without the distraction but Johnny is a bug that needs squashing.
Final news is Blizzard lands himself in trouble again for his Ice Attack. This time it’s a 6 card suspension. Feels as if he has spent more time suspended than he’s been available this year. If he is serious about becoming a valued full-time member of Genesis in the future he needs to try and curb his shoddy behaviour.
INJURED – Exo-King (3), Chaos (4), Pulsar (4); SUSPENDED – Blizzard (6)
WHOSE HOT … Pegasus, Dynamo, Wildcat, Dark Justice, Manslaughter, Splatter, Brainstorm, Jack of Diamonds, Matador, Amazonia, X-Termination, Coat of Arms, Titan Attack WHOSE NOT … Pulsar, Vyper, Draconian Sheik, Mayhem, Death’s Head, Blizzard, Mad Jester, Terminus, Killer Queen, Scourge, Superiority Complex, New Order, Stormtroopers
SUDDEN DEATH STANDINGS:
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 124-110 Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 51-64 Gladiators-Hitmen 72-29 No Fear-Lords of Fire 28-30 WAR-Rocketmen 45-45 Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 49-37 Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 39-24 Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 15-11 Vanity-Killer Queen 8-4 Dynamo-Scourge 8-4
Commando Sam is trying to stay positive for the team but deep down knows it’s not looking great. The chances of making up the deficit is shrinking day by day … Savage Kingdom sitting pretty. Another point gained and another month ticked off. Just as well what with some issues developing for Vyper... Bad month for No Fear. Pulsar suffers a confidence crushing defeat to Bishop Hell. Thantos tries to stay upbeat and says “we are not written off yet. It’s a minor blip and besides Pulsar was jumped”. It is probably not a good time for Thantos to start feuding with Johnny Rocket but he never backs down from anything. Both teams are entering into a critical phase in their respective SUDDEN DEATH feuds ... All the usual feuds are still pretty close but it’s notable that Vanity, Dynamo and Jack of Diamonds are starting to gallop away in their singles feuds.
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: DYNAMO - Scant consolation. He wanted Maxine Babe and not this award. However he did have a great month. In total control of his feud with Scourge after beating him and then blows Vanity away in his failed quest to win Maxine Babe’s heart. He deserved better.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: COAT OF ARMS - Edge it over X-Termination. Any win over Superiority Complex is to be commended but to do so with such ease is extremely impressive. They finally relaxed and showed exactly how good they can be. The crucial points earned also massive for the Champions.
