Card 853 – Cor Coroli Diamond Dome: Titan Attack totally stun Thunder and Overkill to win the tag belts. Big moment for Titan Attack. They’ve had a decent debut year and recently have looked fantastic. The reward is a fast track to a title shot. Of course nobody wants to rain on their parade but they are not being given much chance against the Gladiators. Lord Nexus says of it “another proud moment for a team still learning the ropes. I am under no illusions at the size of the task but we will give it a go. You never know”. In an action packed beginning Thunder uses THE TEMPEST early against Ursa Major but Scion Nexus makes a bold save and reverses the pin. It’s all very unlike the Titans but I guess they need to be aggressive or get butchered. Amazingly they soon build enough momentum for Scion to initiate TWIN HAZARDS on Thunder. Sadly he is forcefully pushed off. For a while after that Scion is left marooned in the ring with the Gladiators. They try to teach him a real lesson but after a few minutes manages to get the hot tag. Crowd noise builds. The Titans are certainly not disgracing themselves. The battering just changes focus from Scion to Ursa Major. He is obliterated with DECAPITATOR. Surely enough is enough but Scion enters the lions den again to save his partner. He doesn’t attack or anything like that but with the ref busy ushering him away and not counting a pin Thunder angrily picks Ursa Major up to start a new punishment sequence. Goes through the full range of his best level 2 moves. Lord Nexus actually considers throwing the towel in it is that bad. However Ursa Major sticks with it and when he gets lined up for a turnbuckle smash manages to move. Thunder flies out the ring and hits the barriers so hard he actually looks really hurt. Sometimes a Gladiator’s refusal to show pain is their weakness because he forces himself back in the ring even though he’s not ready. In a now or never moment Ursa Major executes SHOTGUN CRADLE. Thunder just about powers out of the pin attempt but the closeness convinces Ursa Major to try again. It’s at this point Thrash worriedly realises she better to do something but it’s all too late. Her distraction goes unnoticed. With a roll of 1 and 2 Thunder is pinned. It’s a massive moment as the tag titles slip away. The Gladiators actually look too shocked to rouse a reaction. Who would of though Titan Attack would of been able to pull this off? They themselves look speechless as they are handed the belts. Lord Nexus in the background looks almost close to tears as he sees his beloved son holding aloft one half of the tag titles.
Ladies champ, Amazonia, successfully defended against Ms. Liberty. Can Ms. Liberty pull off a feat never achieved before? If she captures the gold it will mean the first ever situation where a husband and wife both hold GWF gold. She’ll have her work cut out though. Amazonia won’t want to relinquish the title so quickly. Statistically her card back suggests she is probably the top female wrestler but Supernova has overshadowed her. Supernova is the darling of the crowds and often accredited as being the best. There is a tiny bit of resentment at this so Amazonia is determined to build a long reign and change public opinion. A really long match takes place. Despite its length pin attempts are few and far between. Amazonia did launch AMAZON ATTACK but Ms. Liberty kicked out of it. Things continue with control switching up but Amazonia probably just shading it. Eventually she sees off the stubborn resistance of Ms. Liberty after a flying toss. Sadly Ms. Liberty’s chance to write some GWF history is not to be.
No Fear in good form as they easily beat X-Termination. Johnny Rocket is a busy boy tonight. Upsetting Kati and now continuing his little fracas with Thantos. Can’t accuse him of not working hard. Between managing, commentating and striking up feuds for his team left, right and centre he is among the busiest guys around. Doesn’t make him any less detestable though. Even his public disdain for the CPC doesn’t win him any fans. Considering the unpopularity of the Corporation that is pretty amazing. Thantos quickly gets irritated by Johnny’s noise. Threatens to stick that mic down his throat. Johnny reacts by slapping Thantos round the face. There is literally steam coming out of Thantos and he goes to grab Johnny. You’ve never seen someone move so fast. Johnny rushes up the runway with Thantos in pursuit leaving both teams manager-less. They all just get on with it. Maybe relieved the incessant noise is gone. Archon tries to carry most workload as Pulsar is suffering after effects of his 4 Weapons of Destruction match loss to Bishop Hell. Although Pulsar is still chipping in where possible. They get their tactics spot on and never give X-Termination any chances. Archon doesn’t took too long to tie Grunge up in CROSS KNEE RACK. Naturally Sleeze tries to bust the pin but Pulsar cuts him off and ensures No Fear grab a resounding victory.
Kati goes over Monad by DQ. Johnny Rocket has such contempt for the CPC (and of course Monad) he turns up and offers to manage Kati for one night only to pass on his incredible managerial know how. Kati gets a big pop when he shouts “stop meddling and beat it. This is a dork-free zone. I’d rather wrestle alone and lose than have to listen to you droning on. You are a crook” (loosely translated from Samoan). Johnny scurries away and warns Kati that he will regret that. All the while Kati’s opponent, Monad, stands there enjoying the show. Given the history Monad would of enjoyed seeing his old manager humiliated. With the sideshow over Doomsayer instructs Monad to get on with dismantling Kati. Last words being “remember he is Earth scum even if he appears to be from a primitive race”. Trouble is Monad doesn’t wake up fast enough. Almost comes a cropper immediately as his terrible agility works against him. But this is where Kati maybe could of done with Johnny’s help. Doomsayer comes in as Kati covers. His legs are so unwieldy it’s a perfect distraction and he manages to slip Monad a foreign object. Totally transforms the match. Kati does keep fighting back but Doomsayer isn’t about to let Monad lose this one by pin fall. Anytime Kati was near him he attacked. So often that a DQ outcome was only a matter of time. Didn’t seem to care. The important thing was Monad not getting pinned by what he was now calling ‘Samoan scum’.
Zouave surprises himself to defeat Lord Nexus. Recently, mainly on dark shows, Darkos hasn’t been at ringside. Preferring to sit below deck and plan. However he doesn’t trust Zouave’s ability. That’s why he was trying to keep him away from points scoring matches. Having failed to do so Darkos feels it’s necessary to be present. Obviously Zouave wonders why Darkos is suddenly so keen to be managing him close hand having been ‘told the apron strings have been cut’ some time ago. The match goes very much to expectation in the opening minutes. Lord Nexus is far too technical for Zouave and controlling things. Darkos looks pretty annoyed. Then it suddenly turns. Out of nowhere Zouave builds a flurry of offence with a shoulder tackle doing more damage than anyone would of thought. Zouave then clumsily goes for CONQUEROR VICTORY RUN and hits at its max (+2). It’s enough to win. Commentary says it was daylight robbery as Lord Nexus had dominated. Killer Queen managed to down Vanity. As the finish line of SUDDEN DEATH approaches their matches are getting more serious. Queenie playing catch up badly needs the win. Turns into one of those matches where just roll and roll but nothing much happens. Almost a relief when I get near the end of the 30 more moves limit before calling the bell for a draw. There’s literally only a couple to go when Queenie pulls it out the bag with WARP SPEED for a crucial win.

***BETWEEN THE ROPES***
Splatter suspension verdict. Commando Sam is horrified as no action is taken. Seems a bit suss when Blizzard gets suspended for an Ice Attack that barely does any damage by comparison to what Splatter has done. Sam says “if Splatter knows he can get away with it then it’ll happen again and again. Grogan may of been a strong wrestler in his day but he is not a strong Commissioner”. Krakan is not happy with Splatter still striking on random targets. He wants the Gladiators to be the ones getting injured but Splatter is a law unto himself. Strangely there are no murmurings from Chaos who was the victim in all this. The big man has made no indications of getting any revenge. At least not yet.
NEXT SHOW BOOKINGS ... HEAVYWEIGHT BELT, PEGASUS-RAVEN ... CPC BELT, MATADOR-TERMINUS ... JANUS-ARCHON ... HANDICAP MATCH, WOLF-THE WATCHMEN ... MANDRILL AND NEFARUS-MAX SHIELD AND BUCK STEELE ... KATI-HOLOCAUST

Card 854 – Titania Tower: (Stacked show. GWF and CPC belts both on the line looking to outdo each other. Unfortunately the matches end up bombing. Also big emphasis on the Genesis-Colonizers feud. Both teams looking to set themselves up strong ahead of SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN) Heavyweight champ, Pegasus, loses a disappointing match to Raven by DQ. Heavyweight title defence purposely booked to overshadow the CPC being defended here too. The decision to pit hero against hero also makes waves. Fans split down the middle. It’s Raven’s reward for winning OTB. He is very excited to be testing himself against Pegasus who he calls ‘possibly the most talented and well rounded wrestler in GWF history’. Pegasus isn’t quite so complimentary back and sees Raven as just another pretender. It is clear that Pegasus now has the iconic role of being the champ down to a tee. He manages to cast Raven almost as a villain trying to steal his belt and calls on the crowd to get behind him so “we can win this one together”. Maybe that pulled a few more behind him because on each man’s entrance it’s Pegasus who gets the slightly bigger pop. Neither is accompanied as the managers, Omega and Destructon 3000, make a gentleman’s agreement to stay away and let the two guys slug it out. It all starts well enough. Nice moves from both with lots of counters. Fans settling into it and expecting a really gripping contest. However it quickly goes wrong. Pegasus charges at Raven towards the turnbuckle. Gets telegraphed and misses which sends him outside. As soon as Pegasus picks himself up he gets annoyed. Raven is waiting in the ring hoping to continue the contest but gets dragged out by the legs. Pegasus then slams him into the nearest table. Before he can do anything else the bell goes. There is uproar from the crowd. Not sure if they were digging at the ref for not letting things continue or Pegasus for committing the act. Could understand the disappointment. Pegasus seems apologetic for what he did and tries to repair damage by helping Raven up only to get a frosty brush off. That in turn leads to Raven getting a bit of crowd heat. Later when Pegasus has showered and changed he agrees to be interviewed and appears to be backtracking as he says “I am sorry for what I did. It was a heat of the moment thing. I have huge respect for Raven and was looking forward to a good battle. But if you want to blame anyone blame the ref. Common sense should of prevailed”. Pegasus then later gets on social media and offers to face Raven in a rematch before SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN but the GWF stops the move swiftly and the post is taken down. Most of the shows before the end of the month are now booked out and a rematch will not come any earlier than next month.
I think in hindsight this would of made a great main event for a big supercard between two heroes with massive reputations. Guess it’s the way the dice roll because Raven rises to the #1 contender spot in the same month as SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN. As that is always booked as exclusively feud matches it wasn’t possible to have it on the bill. It certainly gave the crowd inside Titania Tower an unexpected treat. They’d never normally expected a match of this gravity at their venue on what is just a regular weekly show. However it ended in DQ anyway so maybe it was for the best it didn’t feature as a supercard main event.
CPC champ, the Matador, beats Terminus with a controversial DQ. With a lack of challengers the matches are becoming very repetitive. However the talent level inside the ring is very high so that does help them from becoming too sterile. Colby and Pelf are very aware of this and counting down the days until they are ready to go live with their big plan. It’s a competitive match with both guys showing their stuff but comes to an abrupt and premature end. Terminus forgets himself and breaks current CPC protocol by rolling outside the ring to relieve some pressure. Reynard B. Guile immediately intervenes. Rings the bell himself and then speaks with the ref. Hard to spot but may of slipped him some cash. The ref nods and passes a message onto the table. Moments later is announced Terminus is disqualified. Not a good crowd reaction to that.
Janus wins after a long grapple with Archon. Old CPC versus new CPC. Two great submission wrestlers means a technical match. It is not long before they are tying eachother in knots. Janus may be a technical guy but is soon also showing his heelish traits. At close quarters delivering a knee to the groin which leaves Archon singing high notes. Thantos cuts a frustrated figure watching this. He wants to get in and ring Janus’s neck but knows how moral Archon is. Trying to interfere would cause problems. All he can do is shout encouragement. Anyway Archon recovers from that little assault on his crowns jewels and wrestled a great match. Comes close to winning on a couple of occasions but in the end the class of Janus wins out. He nails Archon with Champion Super Drop to chalk another one up.
Wolf brings the house down as he beats the Watchmen in a handicap match. Dramatic stipulation. Wolf will score double points for any kind of a win if he can do it. He is really pumped for action. There is an immediate ruckus as Ram is told he is not allowed to be at ringside as Wolf is handicapped enough already. Wolf helps him on his way by throwing him pathetically down the runway but of course gets set upon by the Watchmen as he does so. They beat on him for a couple minutes before dragging him back to the ring. The opening part of the match doesn’t look good for him. The Watchmen hit with everything they’ve got including THE TORTURE RACK and the vile HAZARDOUS WASTE. Wolf won’t give in and stages one of his famed comebacks. Tocsin feels his fury. At first he keeps Wolf at bay but when SAVAGE FACE CLAW is placed on him a second time a famous victory looks possible. Wolf keeps it locked in despite Tocsin’s foul breath blowing back at him. Painmaster desperately tries to pull Wolf off but receives a well timed backwards kick that sends him sprawling. Wolf just isn’t letting go and Tocsin finally wilts under the force. The whole place goes mad for the outcome. Wolf just may of single handedly given the Genesis team a lifeline. Max Shield and Buck Steele/Genocide defeat Mandrill and Nefarus by count-out. No secret that Max and Mandrill are racing one another to see who can win the Heavyweight belt first. However title aspirations must be put on hold. The importance of getting their teams over the line in SUDDEN DEATH outweighs that. Maybe Max realises this more than Mandrill but then he hasn’t got the same breathing space. Genesis trails the Colonizers and matches like this are hugely important. Initially Mandrill is being a lazy bones in the ring preferring to let Nefarus do most of the work. Nefarus tries SCISSORDRIVER against Buck Steele. Way too early for that and it has the undesired effect of awakening Genocide. Nefarus desperately backs off and tags Mandrill but not before he took a few bumps. Mandrill finally forced into the action and he takes some ferocious punishment. Looking as if it’s over as Genocide goes for and connects with CORPUS GENOCIDE. Somehow Mandrill summons a kick out. It’s at this point Max convinces his hyped up buddy to let him into the action for a go. Genocide gives him a pissed off tag. Max tries to keep on the hurt Mandrill but lets him slip away to a tag. Not a problem as Max gives Nefarus the full repertoire and then commences an awesome sequence with MAXIMUM IMPACT being dealt several times. By the end of it all Nefarus is standing in the ring barely knowing where he is. Max charges him one last time and Nefarus falls pathetically through the ropes. Mandrill on the apron orders him to get up but there is no response. Ram, at ringside, tries to get him back in but lifting a dead weight is impossible and Nefarus is counted-out. Mandrill now jumps off the apron and together he and Ram drag Nefarus away before Genocide dishes them any post match damage.
Kati upsets Holocaust. Kati enjoying a rare run in the GWF spotlight. He made an enemy of the Rocketmen on the last show. Johnny instructs Holocaust to deal with him. Holocaust has bigger plans and not really wanting to be lumbered with this so aims to squash Kati quickly. It’s all going well until Holocaust tries to go to the top rope for a big move. Kati moves out the way. The subsequent pin attempt fails but seeing Holocaust in big trouble goes for SAMOAN REVENGE. Johnny Rocket tries to come down on Kati with an elbow as he covers. Kati knows what’s coming and gets out the way. Johnny ends of elbow dropping his own guy. As he stands over him in shock Kati then throws him out the ring. With Holocaust still down then comes down on him with a hard falling headbutt for good measure and gets the pin. Bit of an upset although Kati isn’t exactly lacking in the stats department. Johnny Rocket later warns Kati “this isn’t over”.

Card 855 – Titania Tower:
(THE GAUNTLET … FEATURING SCION AND LORD NEXUS … Great pop for father and son. Qualitar is excited to have them on. Lord Nexus is beaming, scarcely recovered from the unexpected joy of Titan Attack winning the tag belts … Qualitar: “Great to have you here. I always feel like I’m in the presence of GWF royalty when you’re with me” ... Lord Nexus (laughs): “Don’t let the Exo-King hear you say that. Seriously I am no better than anyone else. I must say it’s a pleasure to be in your company. You always give the Titan team a lot of credit” ... Qualitar: “it’s a well deserved moniker but you must be so proud to be stood here alongside your son. How does that feel?” ... Lord Nexus: “It’s wonderful. Am, as you suggest, so proud. I knew Scion would follow me into the business. A few cruel people have tried to shoot down his wrestling career saying there’s no future in it but he worked so hard. Anywhere a ring could be setup he was in there practising. When he beat me in a practice match a couple of years ago I knew he was ready” ... Qualitar: “he certainly is an exciting talent. Scion, are you happy with your performances so far? Winning the tag belts so soon must be beyond your wildest dreams?” ... Scion: “kind of. I have lots to learn and am making mistakes but believe there is improvement being made. Of course it was a great honour to receive a shot at the tag belts. I didn’t think it would work out and be chalked up as a learning experience so to actually win them against the mighty Gladiators was a huge surprise and as you say beyond my wildest dreams. But we wrestled a great match. Didn’t get intimidated and made our own luck. I couldn’t of done this without the support of the Titan fans and of course the team. I have the best teachers in this cosmos in my father and team mates. Dad runs a pretty tight ship you know. Plus Ursa Major is the best partner I could of wished for. So supportive and from a humble background. He knows what it is like to struggle. I draw inspiration from him. I’m as pleased for him as I am for myself” ... Qualitar: “he’s a great guy. Spent a long time paying his dues but sure is proof that with dedication and hard work dreams can come true. Anyone else you draw inspiration from?” ... Scion: “it’s a guilty pleasure but I love watching Eagle. He is determined and just keeps on battling and putting himself through things. I cheered as loudly as anyone when he won his match at GALACTICON. I don’t know him that well as our paths have rarely crossed but would jump at the chance to team with him at some point” ... Qualitar: “wow, we’ll definitely hook you guys up” ... The dialogue continues but many people become distracted and stop listening. For in the background there is movement. Quiet as a mouse Daeman, from the Ninja Assassins, is creeping onto set armed. His dark clothing helping him blend into the shadows. As he draws near with nunchucks poised Scion Nexus suddenly swivels and nails him. After a tip off the Titans knew of this plan all along. Qualitar had managed to warn them after finding out what they were planning. He didn’t want to cancel the interview so Lord Nexus agreed to carry on and keep a lookout as Scion talked. He rubbed his nose as a signal to his son when he saw Daeman coming. As Daeman picks himself up Darkos walks into view with Manslaughter, Hydrax and Zouave behind him … Darkos: “Well, well, well. Appears Qualitar is bugging rooms to get a journalistic boost. Don’t try and deny it” ... Qualitar: “That’s not true. There was an anonymous tip off” ... Darkos: “you are lying through your teeth. How else would you of known? Nobody likes a grass, get him boys” ... With that Manslaughter, Zouave and Hydrax move towards him. Qualitar looks vulnerable but he needn’t of worried as Scion flies at them with a cross body from off the table. The Masked Assassins go down like a line of dominoes. Lord Nexus joins his son but as all the Masked Assassins start picking themselves up it is clear this is a bad situation as they outnumber 5 to 2. Unfortunately Qualitar hadn’t known that Zouave and Manslaughter were also skulking around. With the Ninja Assassins moving forwards and fancifully moving their weapons around the Titans find themselves backed into a wall. Lord Nexus clutches his son’s hand and says to Scion “be strong. We will take as many of them down as we can.” Then there is a big twist. Mollock bursts through the thin wall and gives the Assassins the fright of their lives. They hadn’t reckoned on the great friendship shared with Savage Kingdom. Qualitar had realised things may not go as planned and contacted Terak. Always happy to help Lord Nexus it was then agreed that Mollock would also be on stand by should things turn grisly. With the element of surprise on their side the Titans completely overwhelm the Masked Assassins. Mollock has such power that no blows register and is able to fling both Ninja Assassins several feet in the air. Scion manages to topple Manslaughter with a spinning kick whilst Lord Nexus floors Darkos with a leg sweep. Even Qualitar gets involved by kicking Zouave in the groin. The crowd loves it as the Titans leave the Masked Assassins in a sorry state. Mollock picks Qualitar up and tosses him over a shoulder to carry him from the scene. Fabulous entertainment. Unfortunately the Titans didn’t get out of this completely unscathed as Scion Nexus did injure himself during the scuffle. He assures the fans it’s nothing serious and would only of put him out the next card had he been booked to wrestle) Team CPC (Janus, Terminus, Dreadnaught) beat Pegasus and Coat of Arms by DQ. With things now going so well Omega is prepared to battle on two fronts as the Champions take the fight to the CPC. He says of them “they are an emerging threat and we must be ready and prepared to do our bit”. Before anything can begin Gila, out of nowhere, sticks his nose into the match. Showing up ringside and claiming he is a long lost cousin of Dreadnaught’s. With things not hunky dory on Murderer’s Row seems he might be trying to latch on to someone else. Dreadnaught just laughs and then clotheslines him down. Not long after that Gila crawls away pathetically. With that sideshow over the serious stuff can start. Doesn’t start great as Pegasus is quickly wiped out by Janus. Whilst all eyes were on Gila he was smashed on the back of the head by Janus with the helmet. Evades getting pinned and makes a defensive tag but not much use now. Janus is the conductor for his team but they lose momentum when he tags out. Terminus does ok and has a good battle with Alpha Force but Dreadnaught is the obvious weak link and gets into strife against Coat of Arms. Looks like he might be pinned but a save from his team triggers a brawl which the CPC get the better of through weight of numbers. Gives Dreadnaught an advantage and a big chance against Star Warrior. Slow decision making is costly and Dreadnaught doesn’t get his finisher off. Instead he has to resort to throwing Star Warrior outside which is a move he chooses several times. On about the fourth time Star Warrior reaches a breaking point and shows some aggression. He manages to drive Dreadnaught into a steel post as if to say “don’t do that again”. There is uproar as the ref then disqualified him for such a move. Given all the carnage that had already taken place it was amazing that the ref chose now to clamp down. Reynard B. Guile jumps excitedly at the outcome and brags that the Champions were outsmarted. What’s clear is that this is a slow burning rivalry between the two teams that could grow into something bigger. Maybe 2105 will reveal some answers. Vanity raises a few eyebrows by convincingly beating Monad. Magnus Colby making a rare appearance at ringside but Sonora Pelf left sitting in the VIP box and preferring not to mix with the peasants. With the CPC growing in stature and rumours swirling around Vanity chases Magnus Colby for a match. Monad is put up against him. Vanity considers it an audition for the CPC and hopes they might sign him up. He is not given much chance but it couldn’t go any better as he catches Monad on a real off night. Keeps total control and with Maxine Babe’s help pulls off LADIES CHOICE to win. Doomsayer wouldn’t dare try to interfere with Colby at ringside and Monad has never been strong on kick outs. Means it over pretty fast. With the job done Vanity aims to further cement his standing and flashes some cash. Colby smiles and is heard to say “now you are talking my language. We might just be able to do something. Come back to me in a couple of months”. Vanity brags that his inclusion in their plans is now a foregone conclusion. When he is reminded that he needs to win his feud with Killer Queen first his prickly response is “that’s as good as won. I can start planning for the future and that is the CPC. They’ll take me for sure. Every team needs a pin up”.
This was a worrying thing to happen and could lead to other wrestlers ‘trying out’ trend. Seems that the CPC is being seen as big business and the dollar signs are in the eyes of many guys.
Pulsar shakes off his injuries to beat Holocaust. There is plenty of entertainment outside the ring. Thantos and Johnny Rocket didn’t exactly click when they did commentary together a few shows back. Then Johnny had the audacity to slap Thantos when No Fear faced X-Termination. In a continuation Thantos manages to corner Johnny here and gives him a Satanic Skullsmasher out on the floor. Showing he’d learnt nothing Johnny had kept on invading the space of Thantos until patience ran out. Johnny has been getting under a lot of people’s skin lately. He kind of deserved this. Johnny’s peril didn’t have any effect on Holocaust. Ignoring his manager’s plight to try and pick up a big win. With Pulsar still not fully fit it presented a great opportunity and would be the perfect pick up after his loss to Kati. It’s a decent match with the action going back and forth. Thantos having laid out Johnny is able to work without hindrance and expertly keeps Pulsar in the match after SHOCKWAVE (+3). Holocaust later tried it again with fatal consequences. This time it backfires and Pulsar is able to pin him. Only a few cards ago Holocaust had been talking up prospects of an assault on the Heavyweight belt. Now a dismal run leaves that in jeopardy.
Death’s Head beat Draconian Sheik by DQ after a savage Terrorist attack. Cannibal boasts that he has no fear of Drac or those vile Terrorists. If any of them come near him they will be cut into a thousand pieces. The entire match is on a knife edge. When Death’s Head does FUNERAL MARCH all hell breaks loose. Both Terrorists storm the ring. Cannibal gets knocked out along the way. Drac and the Terrorists then attack Death’s Head unmercifully. One Terrorist batters him with a billy club whilst the other one uses a whip. To finish the assault Drac then applies DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER whilst the Terrorists continue smashing with kicks, punches and the dreaded billy club.
Aftermath is Death’s Head manages to make light of his injuries and cut a promo whilst fiendishly stroking a skull. He’s clearly injured (3 cards) but promises swift revenge for the attack. He is even going so far as to say he hopes Draconian Sheik won’t be suspended as it will delay the revenge match. Genesis Prime heap more misery on the Mercenaries. Titan Attack’s shock tag belt victory is a sign that good things can happen to anyone. Vertigo says Genesis Prime aims to use them as an example as they try to progress beyond many years languishing as a mid-card team. It is clear that the teams are heading in different directions. Genesis are a team on the up whilst the Hitmen are in free fall. Shots fire through the speakers when the Mercenaries emerge for the match but they don’t look their usual intimidating selves. They have been firing blanks in 2104 and almost look forlorn as the battle with the Gladiators is taking its toll mentally and physically. Predictably they never get any momentum. Wraith pummels Soldier of Fortune and then hands off to Vertigo who delivers on his earlier words. Bamboozles Soldier of Fortune with repeated MOTION SICKNESS. The Mercenaries left in a spin after this and beaten after a low roll in a matter of a few minutes. This is not what the Hitmen need as they now head into a brutal Aethran Ultimate Escape match with the Gladiators next.
Assassin Greatness beats Talisman and Dragonmaster by DQ. Decent contest. The Assassins probably just shading it with their few pin (unsuccessful) pin attempts whilst I don’t think Talisman and DM mustered any. Talisman was always walking a tightrope as he kept yelling at the ref over the Assassins tactics. It’s probably why he got no leeway during out of ring brawl. After dumping Enigma into a post he was disqualified. Might it gotten away with it if it had been chewing the ref’s ear so much. Big argument breaks out later over whether this was a valid points scoring match because of Talisman’s inclusion. GWF to rule on this later in the month. Might seem petty arguing over a solitary point but the Titan-Assassin feud is getting closer all the time and it could prove vital.

SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN INCOMING ... FULL LINE UP
MAIN EVENT: LUMBERJACK MATCH, PEGASUS AND COLUSSUS-CHAOS AND HERACLES. Massive match with so many enemies present. No way it will pass without several twists. If the Champions team win it will be almost impossible to catch them. Maybe Commando Sam has one last dastardly plan in him.
IP BELT MATCH IN BARBED CAGE, US. PATRIOT-DARK JUSTICE. The old partners meet again for the belt. Dark Justice is desperate to retrieve it and will do almost anything. Adam has a big decision to make. His wife, Ms. Liberty, wants to be outside the cage to lend support but deep down Adam knows this could be hindrance.
AETHRAN ULTIMATE ESCAPE, THE GLADIATORS-HITMEN. Krakan knows his team is beaten but winning this would be a pretty good consolation. The Gladiators won’t take their foot off the gas though and seek to pulverise the Hitmen.
GENESIS-COLONIZERS CLASHES:
FOUR WEAPONS OF DESTRUCTION, BUCK STEELE-NEFARUS. Many think Nefarus is mad to take this on but he claims to know Buck’s every weakness and predicts victory. Buck stokes things up by saying “I take no responsibility for anything Genocide does with one of those weapons”.
TITAN DEATH, WOLF AND MAX SHIELD-ANIMEN UPRISING. Huge pressure on Genesis to get back into this feud. Can Wolf and Max work well enough together? This didn’t need any extra heat but Mandrill describing Wolf as a flea infested mutt adds even more.
HOT FEUDS:
SPECIAL REFEREE, NO FEAR-LORDS OF FIRE. Massif finally back on duty. Unless you’ve been living under a rock you’ll know his assignment is controversial but this is the sort of match that needs a big personality. Can even he control something like this?
BATTLEZONE, SAVAGE KINGDOM-MURDERER’S ROW. Breeding ground for drama. Terak says he has a big surprise in store for everyone.
JACK OF DIAMONDS-MAD JESTER. Everyone looking forward to Exo-King returning. Will that overshadow the match itself?
WAR-ROCKETMEN FACE OFF:
HOLOCAUST-RAVEN. The feud is so close. After this there will be a much clearer picture of which team is in control.
MACE-GRUNGE. Maybe for the best Mace is being pitched into singles action. He’s been too unpredictable this year.
SLEEZE-DREGGS. Sibling rivalry again. Dreggs owes Sleeze one after their last meeting.
OPENER:
TITAN FURY-ASSASSIN GREATNESS. The Titans may hold the tag belts but need a win here to stop Masked Assassins catching up.

Card 856 – SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN – Mizar Solarsphere:
(Return of the King … All hail. Exo-King is back and will be with Jack of Diamonds at ringside. He is in his full regal pomp. Everyone is pleased that his health problems appear to be behind him. Could be the boost needed to see Jack over the line in his feud with Mad Jester … Before the show the Champions team are out full force among the fans. Omega doesn’t want to appear unapproachable and despite the stressful circumstances still insists his guys get out there and meet with them. Some of the other heroes follow suit and in an incredible picture virtually the entire hero team are in the lobby posing for one massive group photo. It becomes the iconic thumbnail of the event ... Some team managers, mostly the ones losing big, make a last minute push to make the event worth double points in the scoring. It goes to a vote among all 20 competing teams/solo wrestlers but gets rejected 11-9. Word is Mandrill secretly voted against despite an agreement with Commando Sam. With Sam gone and the Stormtroopers headed towards possible disarray it would be one less roadblock towards his aim of leading the entire villain team) Pegasus and Colussus win against Chaos and Heracles in a 5* lumberjack match. If Sam’s Stormtroopers were to stand any chance of coming back they needed to get something out of this match. As with any Lumberjack match there is just as much going on outside as there is in the ring. There were 8 lumberjacks including both managers and also Supernova and Anaxis. After the blood split earlier both US. Patriot and Dark Justice are excused. Fans are trying to convince Omega and Sam to start scrapping. It wouldn’t be the first time since this feud began if that happened. At first both camps stays firmly fixed to their sides. The villains instead firing verbals across the ring. Everything then quietens down for a short while so the match can commence. There is early dismay for Commando Sam as the Alpha Stone loses its power. This is bad considering Chaos still has a lingering injury. He looks nervously over at it and falls to immediate peril. Seeks solace from his lumberjacks but every time he rolled outside the ring it was on the wrong side which didn’t help him. There was certainly more togetherness from the hero lumberjacks when opportunities arose. They always worked as a unit. Even allowing Supernova to do her bit which was fun to see. However the sneakiness of the villains led to some stealthy attacks. Pegasus found this out when he had used PROJECT PEGASUS on two occasions and was laid out by an infiltrating villain whilst everyone was distracted. The second time with a chair and this put him under a great deal of duress as Chaos then proceeded to squeeze the life out of him with BOW OF DEFEAT. Somehow Pegasus held on and managed to get Colussus into the action. It didn’t look much better for him though. Chaos now making light of his faded Alpha Stone to put the squeeze on him too. However Colussus put up similar resistance and then when Chaos made a risky top rope ascent managed to turn it his way. Colussus (with a little help from Alpha Force) pushed the big man down. He then unloaded CYBORG DEATHBLOW twice in succession. With all the lumberjacks now fighting among themselves including Sam and Omega there was nobody to save Chaos. Not even Heracles who had got caught in the crossfire. The roof comes off as Colussus gets the pin. The realisation sees Commando Sam suddenly stop fighting and drop to his knees. This is surely the final nail in the coffin.
Dark Justice defeats US. Patriot in a Barbed Wire Cage to win back the IP belt. Not for the squeamish. This match type is never anything else but bloody. Very often there is little room for technique. It’s all about who can make the best use of the barbs and who is the better hardcore wrestler. In this respect it favours Justice. However Adam wants to show he has the stomach for it and more importantly keep his belt. With a lack of ropes to use it inhibits his style so has to do a lot of improvising. He does have an additional problem to deal with too as, against his will, Ms. Liberty shows up outside. Normally nobody is allowed ringside but it’s not as if she can do anything so officials allow her to stay. Adam worries she might be a sitting duck. After a little domestic Adam relented and puts it to back of his mind. Gets on with the task and starts to defy his underdog status. Really taking to Justice and even using the barbed sides. This was the sort of mean streak and aggression needed. He almost scores a fast pin after that having used FREEDOM FLYER. That was too close for comfort for Justice and serves as a wake up call. With blood dripping down Justice’s face Adam tries to smash him into the side again. This time Justice resists and then reverses the smash. Ms. Liberty gasps as she sees her husband split open. In one foul swoop Adam goes from the high of looking like he might retain the belt to a crushing low as Justice then adapts SHOCK PROBATION (+4) for the cage setting and takes him out. When Justice leaves the cage he takes a threatening swing at Ms. Liberty with his newly won belt missing her head by inches. With the coast clear she runs worriedly to Adam as he is extracted. Nasty gashes oozing blood but the deepest wound is the loss of the title to his chief rival. To pour salt on the wound he picks up the fullest length of injury after rolling a post match 6.
The Gladiators destroy the Hitmen in an Aethran Ultimate Escape match. Not a good time to be facing the Gladiators. They are fuming at the loss of the tag belts and the Hitmen look set to take the brunt of their rage. Even if they do the unthinkable and pull off a sweeping win it won’t make any difference to the outcome of this feud. Anybody will be hard pushed to recall a single Hitman victory against a Gladiator in 2104. Hostilities instantly heat up the moment that cage door is shut and trapping all 8 guys in the ring. Mayhem and Splatter are almost fighting amongst themselves to start things off. In the end it’s Splatter to start but he soon regrets. Here’s how it all went down ... Malice escapes against Splatter as he takes the match by the scruff of its neck. Initially the Gladiators all take turns beating Splatter and racking early tokens. Then Mayhem gets a similar battering. The singles stars see most of early action before a lengthy spot featuring both of the tag teams. They mainly cancel each other out. It becomes a long battle before the first escapee happens. Malice has seen enough and just brazenly smashes Splatter straight into the cage and then walks out the door. Nobody stops him on the Hitman team. Perhaps they are too scared ... Vigilante then offers hope as he uses his quickness to get out against Overkill after Vigilante Destroyer ... Thunder quickly restores the Gladiator advantage after easily escaping against Soldier of Fortune ... Vengeance ruthlessly despatches Mayhem via HELTER SKELTER. Leaves Overkill up against three guys. He is tired and carrying tokens (5) but none of the remaining Hitmen are in particularly good shape ... Overkill competes a dominating win up against Mayhem. He uses TURNBUCKLE TRAP with the help of the cage to crush Mayhem. Overkill fights off Soldier of Fortune’s weak attempt to stop him exiting the cage. Splatter was so beat up from earlier he was just slumped against the ropes offering nothing. So after a really long initial battle that was nearly 20 minutes before the first escape it all moved quite quickly after this as fatigue really set in. Another disaster for Krakan’s Hitmen. Only Vigilante emerges with any honour. The manner of defeat just about sums up how one sided the feud has been this year. Buck Steele/Genocide edges Nefarus in a brutal Four Weapons of Destruction Match. Dangerous situation for Nefarus. The possibility of facing Genocide with weapons to hand could be fatal. In such a long and brutal match the transformation will be an inevitability. Nefarus tries to be clever at first and smuggled an extra weapon in. Some brass knuckles. Buck was blissfully unaware but the officials thought Nefarus might pull something and frisked him throughly before allowing him to enter. The knuckles are immediately uncovered and confiscated. Plenty of derision from the crowd towards Nefarus for trying and failing to pull off that stunt. The normally placid Buck gets angry straight away and launches in fast with a flurry of fists. He beats on Nefarus hard. Of course Nefarus has more tricks and refuses to surrender easily. A cheapshot to the groin restores status quo. The battle then properly begins and sure enough Buck converts into Genocide. Happens very early after SCISSORDRIVER. Nefarus had been well ontop having already put two tokens on Buck. Everyone expects Genocide to obliterate Nefarus from this point but it doesn’t happen that way. Nefarus despite feeling the brunt of CORPUS GENOCIDE is very clever with the weapons. Genocide keeps trying to fight barehand and comes unstuck numerous times. At one point he has 7 tokens to Nefarus only holding 4. Suddenly Genocide gets it together and starts embracing the match type by brutally using the chain and barbed wire. Blood is now being spilt heavily on both sides and before we know it things are delicately poised 9 tokens each. What a climax as both men are down courtesy of the chain. The fans are marvelling at the mayhem. Genocide rises first with help of the ropes and to a great cheer grabs Nefarus by the hair. He musters one last burst of frenzied energy to hurl Nefarus into the turnbuckle administering electric shocks. Then for good measure follows with a deadly running clothesline timed to perfection for maximum impact. Nefarus staggers forward after this and drops pathetically to his knees before then collapsing face first into the canvas. Genocide wins but only just. He tries to wave to the fans in celebration but can’t raise an arm he is so spent. He just then staggers quietly away getting smaller and smaller as he trudged the runway until the last sighting of him is that of Buck disappearing through the curtain. Nefarus isn’t getting up anytime soon and gets carried from the scene and headed straight to a medical facility. As despicable as he is Nefarus has to be admired for the way he handles the loss. In an interview beamed straight from the treatment room he refuses to feel sorry for himself after sustaining injuries and wants to face Genocide again as soon as possible having come so close to a famous win. The injuries he now carries (4) brushed off as an occupational hazard and he will wrestle through them.
This seemed almost impossible for Nefarus to win. He needed the transformation to happen early to stand any chance. Genocide, as we know, loses all his tokens on converting from Buck. It could easily be possible that Buck would have a high fatigue late in the match and lose the lot meaning Nefarus would need to start over. A daunting proposition for sure. Maybe Buck is not suited with his mechanic to such matches but I still wanted to roll with it. Besides Genesis needs all the points they can get. As it turned out Genocide did arrive quickly. Maybe Nefarus was clever to use his finisher rather than the charts in a bid to force a pin roll and thus trigger it. Even so I could never of imagined Nefarus running him so close as for a long time all the weapons chart rolls were in his favour. It was a breathtaking match to play.
Wolf and Max Shield take down Animen Uprising in a Titan Death match. Fans screaming themselves hoarse for Wolf. Children leaning over the barriers to try and slap Wolf’s hand or at least touch him. Wolf remains as popular as ever. He may not have plans to stay with Genesis beyond the end of the year but doesn’t want to leave his buddies in the lurch. Giving his all here to try and help bridge the gap on the Colonizers. He and Max make a surprisingly effective team. For those who thought Wolf could only work alone his tag team performances have been strong. The phrase “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks” being thrown out the window by Wolf. Together with Max they dominate both Ram and Mandrill looking as good as any regular tag team. However the wheels come off when Wolf narrowly missed a turnbuckle charge against Ram. It’s like the flick of a switch to liven Ram up (who is being made by Mandrill to take most of the bullets). Before this happened he had offered nothing for most of the bout. Suddenly it’s Wolf on the ropes but Ram is no stranger to blowing it since becoming a Colonizer slave. Two times he attempted RAM CHARGE and on each occasion he ended up outside the ring. This took the sting out of Ram’s offense and Wolf is able to surge back. Ram gets knocked from pillar to post. Max reaches for the tag wanting some action even though Wolf is L3O. He gets ignored. Wolf is in the zone and Max realises it’s better to let him get on with it. He withdraws his extended arm and watches Ram get battered whilst keeping close eyes on Mandrill who is pacing the apron. Wolf soon locks in SAVAGE FACE CLAW to which Ram submits weakly. Mandrill can see that Wolf is on fire and attempts to jump down from the apron and leave the scene. No way Wolf is letting him get away easy. Making a grab and dragging him into the ring. Mandrill backs into a corner and begs off. Moments like this are few and far between. Wolf is not about to let the chance of having Mandrill begging on his knees pass him by. Face plants Mandrill into the deck and puts a foot across the back of the neck. Ram by now has recovered enough to take action. Attempting to earn redemption he gathers up a chair from ringside and rushes at Wolf but only swipes at air when Max Shield pulls his partner away. Ram realises the situation cannot be retrieved and bundles his master out of the ring. The fans go mad for the events happening and insist Wolf and Max stay in the ring a few minutes longer to celebrate a huge win. Later rumblings with Mandrill having the last word. Describing Wolf as a disgusting mongrol and refusing to accept defeat because he wasn’t beaten himself. Urges Wolf to watch his back and check every shadow because the Colonizers owe him revenge for that attempted humiliation spot.
Lords of Fire too good for No Fear in a match where Massif was the ref. Massif back in from the cold. GWF entrusting him with one of the most combustible of matches. Basically means it’s going to be organised chaos. Pulsar still not completely healed from his last meeting with Bishop Hell but doesn’t want to show signs of weakness. Claims he is fighting fit in the build up and ready for revenge. When Archon is asked whether he approves of Pulsar’s comments and if he can continue the team next year (if they win the feud) he says “who knows but I enjoy teaming with Pulsar. Sometimes opposites attract. We respect each others styles and don’t impose our will. For now though I don’t think about it. The priority is to deal with these Brymstonian thugs”. There’s plenty of time to kill as the Lords of Fire play games and keep No Fear waiting. Gets Massif pretty agitated but showing his dark side he threatens Thantos with tough consequences after the GWF legend complains. Suddenly Maleph swoops into the centre of the ring and with all attention on him the Lords of Fire then dart up the short runway and attack. The diversion gave them the early jump. It’s pretty wild but Massif just about gets things going properly with Bishop Hell and Pulsar starting things off. Even for someone as tough and no-nonsense as Massif the match slips out of his control several times. One brawl looks so chaotic that the bell should of been rung many times over. Massif hates DQ outcomes and lets it go. No Fear comes out of it worse and Archon finds himself cut off in the ring. Takes a hell of a bombardment. Blazing Skull weakens him with BURNING TOUCH. However it’s Bishop Hell with the finishing touches. He keeps HELLFIRE under wraps. Perhaps wisely given Massif’s proximity but shows his agility by nailing FLYING CROSS several times. Archon kicks out bravely on the first few but cannot hold out forever. There is frustration from Pulsar and Thantos as there is nothing they can do. No Fear crashes to defeat and yields crucial points in the feud. But it’s not over yet and things still remain close. Of course there is afters. Massif trying to look clean but accused of being in cahoots with the Lords of Fire by Thantos. He wants to know why there was DQ forthcoming during that vicious brawl. Unfortunately these sorts of questions will be levied towards Massif for a good while yet. His rep is not yet restored fully. Murderer’s Row overcomes Savage Kingdom in a Battlezone match. Big surprise to kick off the bout. Terak comes to the ring with Tucor. Yes, Tucor is alive and well. Some old fans may remember Tucor’s sporadic appearances at ringside with Terak (known as Beast-Rider back then) in the early days after the code got broken. Tucor was a huge birdlike creature that was so shy that he stayed out the spotlight. So would only really show up on dark shows. Tucor gets a huge ovation from the older generation of GWF fans. Cannibal gets threatening when seeing this and threateningly says “this ain’t no nostalgia trip. We are going to pluck Tucor’s feathers and feast on his carcass”. The joy of seeing Tucor is tempered by a late pull out from Vyper. That explains why Terak is in wrestling gear. More on this soon. Anyway onto the match ... The Creeper beats Mutant by DQ after outside chaos ensues. Mutant and Creeper got the short straw in going out first. It’s never pretty when they meet but that doesn’t matter as the fans love this classic feud. The Creeper looks like it will sail through the test but Cannibal ensures Mutant doesn’t get pinned. However he can do nothing about Mutant’s wild tendencies. The DQ inevitable after it attacks ringside officials ... The Creeper crushed Gila. Cannibal has his head in his hands as Gila meekly surrenders to a heart punch. Tucor flaps excitedly at ringside causing Cannibal to throw a skull at him ... Death’s Head ends the run of the Creeper. Injury not slowing Death’s Head down. At one point the Creeper plants him into the turnbuckle several times but Death’s Head has got a head of concrete and absorbs the blows. Stuns the Creeper with a big comeback immediately after this culminating with FUNERAL MARCH ... Death’s Head eliminates Terak in the best battle so far. Terak still shows sharp instincts and gives a great effort. He also nearly benefits from Mollock mauling Death’s Head. Tucor is so excited to be watching Terak close hand again and grows in confidence. The hulking presence of Mollock helping him to feel safe. Sadly Terak does eventually lose out. FUNERAL MARCH leaves him with a bloody nose. It’s all square now but Death’s Head is fatigued (3). Wildcat, up next, will fancy himself with his high energy style ... Death’s Head wins against Wildcat. Achieved via FUNERAL MARCH again. Smile well and truly wiped off Tucor’s face now. Death’s Head has been unstoppable and with only Karah to face surely Savage Kingdom will be tasting defeat ... Death’s Head seals the match as he beats Karah by DQ. Karah worked hard but like many of his colleagues ends up decked by FUNERAL MARCH. Worried for the youngster Mollock storms the ring which caused the disqualification. Mollock, Tucor and Karah leave in a hurry with Cannibal sharpening his knives in intimidating fashion. Fair to say Vyper pulling out cost Savage Kingdom the match. In the end Murderer’s Row win pretty comfortably thanks to Death’s Head. They had one man left over in Cycle Hog. Although Savage Kingdom still has a strong lead in the feud it will mean Terak sleeps a little more uncomfortably after this. Victory would of made them uncatchable but now there is some doubt. Also Vyper’s fragile mindset could do more damage.
Mad Jester escapes with a victory over rival Jack of Diamonds by DQ. The main story is about Exo-King being back after a severe health scare. He appears to much fanfare. Leads to a real surge in support for him and Jack. After a ridiculous initial game of hide and seek Jester insisted on playing which had Jack nervously checking behind him all the time they finally get to grips. Exo-King sorting it all out by forcefully pulling Jester out from a spot under the ring. After this Jack fought tooth and nail. He survived a major scare after A DEAD MAN’S VERSE where his father rolled back the years to help him out. Just about freeing his son from the ropes in time. Jack then surged back with a mixture of technical mastery and hardcore moves. It’s the only way to deal with the crazed Jester. He becomes totally dominant but can’t get a pinning position or finisher off. Inevitably the action spills outside the ring one too many times and now becomes a fiasco as Jester’s next caper is to start running around like the building’s on fire. Jack gets agitated by such lunacy and grabs hold of his father’s sceptre. As Jester comes round for another circuit he clocks him with it right between the eyes. The crowd loves it but there is no sentiment from the ref who disqualified Jack on the spot. Jack later says in the heat of the moment he forgot it was a regular match and thought it was Titan Death rules. He does also go onto to say that the way Jester was carrying on the ref should of disqualified him many times over in the match. Defeat not too damaging for Jack. He still holds the advantage. Raven gives Holocaust a wrestling masterclass. It’s been said before but there’s no doubting Johnny Rocket is one of the hardest working men in the GWF. Hosting shows and events, interviewing wrestlers and still finding time to manage the Rocketmen. Doesn’t mean he is popular though. Gets under people’s skin all too easily. He is at it again here as cannot resist poking fun at Raven’s failure to capture the Heavyweight belt and brags that if Holocaust beats him tonight then he should be given the next title shot. Might be a bit a bit presumptuous given Holocaust’s recent collapse in form but it certainly gets some heat going with that. The fans are excited for the match but maybe feel a bit short changed. If this match hadn’t already of been booked they might just of been witnessing a rematch between Pegasus and Raven as there were some open slots up until the last few days (even though this event is traditionally only about the team feuds). Anyway onto the match itself which had more riding on it than a possible shot at the belt. Namely points. The feud between WAR and the Rocketmen is dead even at the moment. Holocaust makes the first move of notoriety. In a pre planned move whipping Raven towards ropes. Johnny pulls the top rope down which means Raven goes over it. Proper heelish behaviour. Raven recovers his senses and comes back at Holocaust hard. It’s now one way traffic. When Johnny Rocket jumps onto the apron complaining about the hardcore aggression Raven whips Holocaust into him as payback. Johnny goes flying, landing at the feet of Destructon 3000. When he realises Johnny scrambles back in terror. The damage Destructon 3000 can do without his inhibitor engaged doesn’t bare thinking about. Back in the ring things are not getting any better for Holocaust. He can barely stem the tide and was only surviving after Johnny’s earlier interferences but that’s now over. The tokens climb as high as 6 and Raven finally puts the match to bed with BROADSWORD. A brilliant win that surely cements his position as #1 contender to the Heavyweight strap. Plenty to mull over for Holocaust who is on a horrible run.
Sleeze gets a helping hand to beat Dreggs by DQ. Instead of keeping a low profile Mace barges in on the contest antagonising everyone and upsetting the ref. Dreggs tries to remain calm despite his partner increasing the risk of being disqualified. Which is exactly what happened as Mace lays the boot into Sleeze outside of the ring. Totally unnecessary as Dreggs was doing just fine. Destructon 3000 is kicking himself for failing to send Mace away but didn’t want to create a scene at the time. Hope the outcomes improves as that is three straight DQ finishes to open.
Grunge too smart for Mace as he takes the DQ victory. Dull contest. Riga mortis in danger of setting in to the crowd. Grunge and Johnny Rocket have the ref wrapped around their fingers. Mace’s recent temper flare ups meant the ref bought all their complaining and constantly reprimanded Mace. Plays right into their hands by brawling and gets himself disqualified. Mace might want to lay low for a while after this loss. The knives are out for him judging by crowd reaction
Titan Fury defeats Assassin Greatness by DQ. Great opener to get the crowd buzzing. Shame about the outcome though. Darkos was angry that his plan to have Ninja Assassins only participate in points matches rejected. Can he trust his other team to deliver? This was there chance to prove themselves. This isn’t the only thing frustrating Darkos though. He is also stewing over how Titan Attack has beat his teams to the punch by grabbing the tag belts. Jealousy consuming him for sure. The Assassins start well but then Titan Fury gets into rhythm. Ends when Enigma breaks the pin after Manslaughter is hit with SUNSET SPECTACULAR causing the bell. Darkos claims the Titans got lucky and Assassin Greatness were clearly the superior tag team. Certainly has rose tinted specs on when appraising that.

GWF REPORT (SUDDEN DEATH 2104 CARDS 853 - 856)
Champions
* GWF Galaxian Champ: Pegasus (Top Contender: Raven) * GWF Tag Champs: Titan Attack (Top Contenders: Lords of Fire) * GWF Interplanetary Champ: Dark Justice (Top Contender: US. Patriot/Killer Queen) * GWF Ladies Champ: Amazonia (Top Contender: Supernova) * CPC Heavyweight Champ: Matador of M83 (Top Contender: Janus)
Latest News:
Titan Attack winning the tag belts from the Gladiators steals all the headlines. It sends their reputation rocketing. The Gladiators maybe cruising in their feud with the Hitmen but they are vilified on Aethra for this shock loss. They are expected to recover the belts as soon as possible. Means Titan Attack won’t have it easy with many predators circling. Many teams seeing them as lucky soft touch champions that will be easy to dethrone. The pestering to be the next #1 contenders coming from all angles. The GWF championship committee has its work cut out making a decision. Scion Nexus says bring it on “I don’t care who we face next. I am living the dream. Every match as a champion will be an honour to wrestle”.
The other big switch was the IP belt. Dark Justice gets the double delight of regaining it and brutally injuring US. Patriot in the process. It’s a small satisfaction for the Stormtroopers but it is no laughing matter at HQ as gaining the belt won’t save them. The big players like Chaos and Heracles have gone missing this year. Plus the Stormtroopers (Hammer and Powerhouse) have been a disastrous experiment. Commando Sam got his tactics badly wrong.
Trials and tribulations on the Savage Kingdom team as Vyper is still showing a fear of snakes and beasts in general. He won’t even go near Mollock at the moment. He pulled out of SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN after telling Terak he wants to take some time off after being roughed up a lot this year. Terak is worried about Vyper’s head. The feud is entering a crucial phase. Even though Savage Kingdom holds a strong lead over Murderer’s Row things can change without their top star (just look at how the Champions have turned things round). So rather than try and sweep things under the carpet he urges Vyper not to be hasty and that he’ll get him the help needed. Then books him a match fast to try and get back on the saddle as soon as possible. It will be against the man responsible for triggering the phobia, Mesmer. Maybe beating Mesmer can reverse the effects.
This is only a rumour but deep down Commando Sam is regretting the whole villainous turn. His team is spiralling towards defeat and Mesmer’s persuasive powers are being disrupted by the fact that Phantast is now in this dimension. However Sam is stubborn and knows he cannot alter the course of history. His pride stops him from backing down. There are also some unconfirmed reports of Sam having a recent brush with the law.
It was another sublime month from Pegasus as he links up with Colussus to overcome Chaos and Heracles. With his current title reign building and the way he has led the Champions it has prompted the wrestling media to proclaim there has been a changing in the guard with regards to who is the fed’s top guy. For so long it has generally been considered that Chaos is the man to beat whether he is holding gold or not. Now Pegasus has eclipsed him and is considered the biggest scalp.
CPC accuse the GWF of sabotaging their plans for SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN. They were frozen out of the event after initially being promised a spot. Reynard B. Guile, as spokesman, claims “Grogan promised we’d play a big part at the event. Our belt was to be put on the line in a big battle royal comprising our wrestlers and a rep from each team. The winner would take the belt and also score 25 points for their team. It would of been a ratings hit but at the last minute the idea was shelved. Grogan then told us we would not be welcome at the event. A bad move, our wrestlers are in high demand. Well, he will regret doing that to the CPC. Very soon he will find out why”. This claim has been preached endlessly all year but so far nobody is able to connect the dots and work out exactly what it means.
Speculation builds on the future of Mayhem. The likelihood, even if he survives banishment, will be that he will be cast off by the Hitmen. His return to the Gladiators looks extremely unlikely. Leaves him up the creek without a paddle. Mayhem is difficult to interview, always unpredictable and angry. All that Qualitar got out of him when he last picked enough confidence to make an approach is “I have irons in the fire. Any team would jump at the chance to have someone fearless like me. Even hero teams. Now get out my face before I put you into the wall.”
Kati is at odds with the GWF. Says he will jump ship to the CPC at first opportunity. The bad feeling supposedly coming because he heard a rumour that Grogan wanted him to go to a lesser fed as part of a talent exchange. Of course Kati would need to convince Colby and Pelf to take him on which is unlikely. Colby thinks Kati is a savage undercard bum who comes from a poor and primitive society. Not the sort of guy he wants to be associated with. When Kati finds out about such comments he threatens to go after the CPC but he doesn’t exactly have many friends to call on for help.
The latest guy to get the belt bug and bang down the Commissioner’s door for a title shot is Killer Queen. Slightly heelish antics even though he is categorised as a hero at the moment. Queenie is angered at always being overlooked and seen as an entertaining extrovert. Seems to think dues have been paid and the IP belt should now be handed to him on a platter. At the moment US. Patriot has first refusal on a title shot/rematch but Grogan decides to give it some though. His solution to diffuse the row is to book US. Patriot and Killer Queen in a match together with the winner getting becoming the #1 contender. But Grogan warns Queenie “if you lose don’t come banging on my door like that again”. INJURED – Death’s Head (2), Nefarus (4), US. Patriot (6); SUSPENDED – Blizzard (2). WHOSE HOT … Pegasus, Colussus, Dark Justice, Malice, Overkill, Buck Steele, Wolf, Max Shield, Death’s Head, Raven, Kati, Killer Queen, Lords of Fire, Genesis Prime, Titan Attack WHOSE NOT … Chaos, Heracles, US. Patriot, Mayhem, Splatter, Nefarus, Mandrill, Vyper, Mace, Monad, Holocaust, Lord Nexus, Mercenaries, Watchmen, X-Termination
SUDDEN DEATH STANDINGS:
Champions-Sam’s Stormtroopers 129-114 Genesis and Wolf-Colonizers of Scorpi 63-64 Gladiators-Hitmen 79-29 No Fear-Lords of Fire 28-33 WAR-Rocketmen 47-47 Fighting Titans-Masked Assassins 52-40 Savage Kingdom-Murderer’s Row 39-30 Jack of Diamonds-Mad Jester 15-12 Vanity-Killer Queen 8-6 Dynamo-Scourge 8-4
Commando Sam is under enormous strain as the SUDDEN DEATH gets close to its end. He’s trying to keep a stiff upper lip but his pride is wounded. Unconfirmed rumours that he actually had a semi-breakdown and trashed a hotel room leading to an arrest. Omega, of all people, said to of bailed him out and then instrumental in trying to keep things quiet … Is Maleph jumping the gun by already celebrating victory over No Fear. Brags that chaos and disorder has shown its effectiveness in the wrestling ring. No Fear may of slipped back but they are not giving up yet. There may only be a couple months of the year left but matches will be booked like crazy. The GWF wants to squeeze every last drop out of this classic feud ... Masked Assassins back from the dead in their feud. Even if they do come up short eventually they can keep their heads held high. Although Darkos won’t see it that way. His youth movement is ripening and to lose someone at such a crucial time in the team’s development could even set them back ... Max Shield and Vertigo in good spirits after Genesis had a great month. Max thinks the Colonizers are bottling it. Wolf is also coming into form at just the right time. He was absolutely incredible in his matches last month and is at the forefront of the improvements. It’s typical Wolf. Surging comebacks are part of his DNA ... Aethrans are never content. Completely dominant at SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN and in their feud but it’s not enough. Dominating the belts is their primary barometer of success. On the Hitman team all is not well. Krakan believes Mayhem has a lot to answer for with his reckless and inconsistent performances. Whatever happens Mayhem’s relationship with the Hitmen looks to be over. In fact it may well be already as Krakan has zero plans to pitch him into any more battles. Of course the GWF may insist he continues to wrestle as they have the final word on all bookings ... Mace doing his best to damage WAR causing DQ losses. His temper is costing them. Luckily Raven repaired most of the damage by destroying Holocaust to stop the Rocketmen taking control of the feud.
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH: WOLF - Drags the Genesis team kicking and screaming back into their feud with the Colonizers. Awesome stuff.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH: TITAN ATTACK - An unforgettable moment as they shock the Gladiators to win the belts. They have a very bright future.

DARK MATCHES #1 – Callisto Centroplex:
Anaxis defeats her big rival Supernova. Despite the promoter putting this in the main event spot women’s wrestling is low on Commando Sam’s priority list as neither he nor Heracles are present. Bit demoralising for Anaxis but seeing as her only purpose in life is to serve Heracles they don’t care too much. Missing a trick though as this is still a points scoring match. Supernova may not be hitting the heights of her first 18 months in the fed but she is still a tough cookie adorned with spectacular moves. The whole move set out in full force here. Anaxis does well to stay with her throughout. Then takes advantage of a lapse in concentration to use CALL OF THE SIREN and steal victory against the run of play. Anaxis then grabs her bowl and smashes it over Supernova’s head and wants to build a big attack. Lucky for Supernova her great mate, Ms. Liberty, is able to run out and help her. She was only here because the pair of them were booked to go out for a meal after the show. Although Supernova avoided serious injury (1) it is enough to necessitate a trip to the medical centre. She was booked to wrestle Anaxis on the next show again but has been advised to miss it.
Genesis Prime grab victory over Superiorty Complex by DQ. Things just not going very well for Commando Sam. His singles stars are misfiring and now his top tag team stumbles. They are generally second best to Genesis Prime. When Commando Sam sees Skinhead possibly about to be finished with MOTION SICKNESS he storms the ring. In a double blow Vertigo easily fends him off and then the ref also calls the bell. Prodigy also tried to get involved but runs into an invisible wall and Wraith then turns solid in front of him. Genesis is the polar opposite of Sam’s team at the moment. Working together and in great form with perhaps Genesis Prime shining brightest of all. This is the fourth win in a row and must put them very close to getting a shot at the tag belts. Of course Vertigo, being the great and dependable leader that he is, has his priorities straight by saying “we will never turn down a chance to go for the gold but it will never be a distraction to the most important thing. That is competing the job against the Colonizers. Much more vital that win the feud than the belts”.
Talisman batters Vanity. Talisman sets tempo early. He is not about to be distracted by what is virtually a sordid strip show from Maxine Babe at ringside. Focused on winning against a guy whose morals he disagrees with. Vanity doesn’t like the aggression being dealt and almost walks but the crowd is screaming. They paid good money for this. Vanity then pauses to ponder but then finds Talisman won’t let him leave anyway and sprints up the runway to drag him back to the ring. The fans cheer this move. Talisman is an intense fighter and sometimes a bit much for people but his heart is in the right place. Makes him pretty popular and that popularity surged when he upset Chaos earlier in the year. Has tailed off a lot since then so a dominating win here is desired to get back on track. That is duly delivered via AMULET DROP. Talisman leaves the ring giving Vanity a glance as if to say ‘there you go, simple as’.
Theatre of Pain keep their impressive record going on against Sam's Stormtroopers. Initially no laughing matter for Comedy as he cut off in the ring. Gets knocked from pillar to post as STORMTROOPER BLITZ and EARTHQUAKE get used against him. Tragedy saves his skin on both occasions. After those near misses the Stormtroopers loosen their grip on the match. Theatre of Pain now begin to stage a performance and pay Hammer back for earlier. Comedy sets up SHAKESPEARE and Tragedy then pins. Another loss in a year to forget for the Stormtroopers.
Kati prevails over Romulus by count-out. Kati skating on some thin ice. His future in wrestling doesn’t look too secure. For now he is trying to prove himself to the CPC but they refuse to take him seriously. Booking him against Romulus and Taurine in consecutive matches. Kati does the job but is frustrated by interferences from Taurine. Means he cannot get a clean run at Romulus. Wins the match but a count-out is not what he was hoping to achieve.
Scourge evens things up against Dynamo. Dynamo looks to be trying to lose by DQ rather than take a pin loss so Scourge can’t close the 2 point gap. He just cannot to grips with the match. However the ref stubbornly refuses to give him the satisfaction. Scourge takes his chance and nails LONE CONQUER to win. Big surprise at how Scourge is taking this feud to the wire. Sour grapes from Dynamo sees him attack Scourge post match. The beating left Scourge bloody. Injury (2) is the result.
DARK MATCHES #2 – Dione Saturndome:
Splatter goes over Lord Nexus by DQ. The feud between Lord Nexus and Krakan has been going since day 1 of the post classic era of the GWF and refuses to go away. It’s actually been running since 2084 and is the longest running rivalry for sure. Lord Nexus still cannot bring himself to hang his wrestling tights up just yet despite his age. Krakan challenges with the crazed Splatter and Lord Nexus accepts. Krakan vows this is the night Lord Nexus will finally be put out to pasture. But wait, Lord Nexus’s old buddy Billy Jo Boxer comes back to watch out for him for one night only and gets a massive pop. Billy Jo prefers to be an armchair enthusiast of wrestling and boxing these days but answered the call. He speaks a little slower these days due to repeated head shots over the years from boxing but still has that jive talking enthusiasm. All the ingredients for a dramatic match and it didn’t disappoint. Lord Nexus is brilliant as he rattled Splatter. Getting out the path of a deathjump and then bringing the crowd to its feet with TITAN DROP. Krakan cannot believe it and hastily distracts the referee. Splatter then scrambled for a foreign object and struck Lord Nexus to turn the tide. Splatter is now in control after this and hits THE SHREDDER soon after. Lord Nexus survived but then got levelled with MEET ARSENAL. Billy Jo Boxer isn’t about to let his great mate down and saves his him by rushing the ring and knocking the unsuspecting Splatter out with one punch. He then picks up Arsenal and swings at Krakan for a glancing blow. Sadly it meant Lord Nexus lost by disqualification but it was a moral victory for the Titans.
Ms. Liberty upsets Anaxis. Ms. Liberty sub for Supernova. Eyeing a win that will give a big boost Ms. Liberty makes a spritely start but Anaxis cleverly breaks any momentum by constantly rolling out of the ring. Anaxis knows after her dealing with Supernova this is an opportunity to get back in the title picture. Two consecutive wins will surely mean she cannot be denied and allow her to usurp Supernova’s spot as the current #1 contender. She has the main control but Ms. Liberty stubbornly refuses to give in. Maybe the frustration sets in because Anaxis chances her arm with a couple of risky death jumps. The second of which misses. Ms. Liberty’s now or never moment as she goes for THE LIBERATOR and affords her an upset victory.
The Watchmen overcome Genesis Prime via DQ. Genesis Prime’s rise up the rankings comes to a halt as they lose to their chief rivals. It was a cheap one to give away. Wraith started brawling with Tocsin outside of the ring. He then pulled Ram into it and when chairs and tables started flying the bell went. The ref saw Wraith as the instigator and based that on his DQ decision. Silly one to give away. Even solitary points at this stage are crucial.
Ninja Assassins too well drilled for Killer Queen and Jack of Diamonds but it’s only a DQ win. Jack and Queenie go for a change of pace in tagging. They believe they can upset the high flying Ninja Assassins. Unfortunately they soon fade after a promising opening. Poor Jack is hit countless times with DEATH POINT STRIKE. He does well to avoid being pinned. When he is tossed outside Exo-King has seen enough and tries to attack Daeman with his sceptre. The ref disqualified Jack immediately for his father’s actions. Exo-King later says “I was not proud of myself but I had to do something. Those sneaky Assassins were getting away with too much”.
Kati just about defeated Taurine. Much closer than anticipated but Kati comes through with SAMOAN REVENGE. The CPC sends Reynard B. Guile to do the dirty work. He approaches Kati with a contract to join the CPC. Just as he is about to sign it on the spot Reynard rips it up in front of his eyes. Before Kati can even react the Upstart Punks attack him viciously. With Kati bleeding at his feet Reynard then says “am sorry but Mr. Colby doesn’t take savage no talent bums into the CPC”.
Zouave gets the better of Eagle. Bit of a chore to roll (and probably watch) due to the weak offence of both guys. Zouave eventually wins out after THE DEMOLISHER. Took three separate attempts with it to actually keep Eagle down.

Card 857 – VIRGIN’S DIAMOND TOUR – Denebola Spiral Arm Stadium:
(Peak time for the tour as it co-incides with a popular festival celebrating foods from around the cosmos. With so many people in the vicinity it means all the shows are a sell out. There are a couple of late changes to the card after some wrestlers sample some unusual delicacies. Unfortunate reactions render them unable to compete ... The fans have been gathering momentum in hoping Tucor will be back out. He proved a real hit with younger fans and plenty of merchandise flew off the shelves. Sadly it’s likely to be a one off after Terak said he is back at the zoo. Cannibal’s latest threat before he fell ill was “if I see Tucor again I’m going to eat him like a chicken wing at an all you can eat BBQ. That thing is not domesticated and deserves to be part of the food chain” which totally freaked Tucor out. Fearing for his own safety Tucor communicated with Terak that he didn’t want to continue coming to ringside) Killer Queen stuns US. Patriot in a short match. A battle decide the top contender to the IP belt. Queenie definitely playing the heel role. Starts a smear campaign against US. Patriot to try and get the fans rooting for him instead but it is clear Adam is the more popular guy. Racing down the runway and gets a huge ovation from a large pocket of American fans. Flags are waving all over the arena. They are desperate to see their hero recapture the belt. In truth nobody could of outshone Adam in the popularity stakes tonight. Wolf or one of Omega’s family could of come out and they still wouldn’t of eclipsed Adam. With such fervent support there is the hope for a stellar match but it ends up being over quickly with a shock outcome. As the ref issued instructions Queenie attempts to let a party popper off right in Adam’s face but it explodes too early and gives himself a black eye instead. Before he can clear his vision again he finds himself trapped in a headlock. Adam looks like he means business and spends the next minute punishing Queenie. No danger is sensed as executes a whip into the ropes. Then suddenly in a flash Queenie launches at him with an instinctive sunset flip. Adam hits the back of his head hard on the canvas and is momentarily stunned. Long enough to be pinned. Crowd is in shock as Queenie moves towards the IP title match. New Order wins a thriller against X-Termination in a Titan Death match. The rocky road New Order has been stumbling down for what has been a while must stop now. For the sake of this feud. Things are so delicately poised that this could be the difference between winning and losing. Dreggs says in the promos “we are together”. Mace in the background says nothing but nods along. When they head out to the ring they say nothing to one another. Maybe they are just so focused on the job at hand. It’s the complete opposite with X-Termination who emerge to a cacophony of noise suggesting they are well and truly back to their bad living and partying ways. They waste no time swinging their guitars at Mace and Dreggs. It is a Titan Death match after all. Mace gets a cheer as grabs hold of one with one hand and puts his fist through it with the other one. The punch goes right through and bloodies the nose of Grunge. What a start. The match becomes hotly contested with multiple phases where every wrestler is on top. The execution of HEADBANGER’S BALL on Dreggs shows how together New Order is for this match at least. Mace comes and levels Grunge. Both are down after that but Dreggs recovers first and begins a strong run from New Order. They start chipping away at both members of X-Termination. Mace, in particular, shines as he finds himself up against Sleeze. Rattled him with a torpedo clothesline and then takes a risk with a deathjump. The risk is rewarded as it sets up DECIMATION and hands New Order a vital win. A job well done but it’s telling that Mace and Dreggs aren’t talking even in the glow of victory. Dreggs just about brings himself to give Mace a brief nod and the pair depart several paces apart.
Cycle Hog flattened Vyper in the first upset of the night. Vyper looks a little out of shape but he is back on the bill. His appetite to wrestle is back and has suddenly conquered his fear of snakes. Terak isn’t saying anything but we’ve heard through the grapevine that Phantast assisted him in reversing Mesmer’s hypnosis. Is the great Sorcerer closing in on Mesmer? Whatever the reason it is great to see Vyper handling his two favourite snakes Rex and Spot. He lets them slither across the ring in an attempt to freak Cycle Hog out. No chance of that, Hog attempts to grab them as he fancies making Snake Pie tonight. He clumsily gets a hold of Spot but before can reel the snake in Vyper is across with a flying leap. The impetus just about taking Hog off his feet. Vyper then quickly and safely packs his beloved pets away before they come to harm. The box containing them is entrusted to Mollock. Only a madman would dare try and take it now although I am sure Cannibal, if had he been at ringside, would of thought about it. In this time Hog has just about managed to hoist himself back up with huge assistance from the ropes. Those who now thought that there would only be one winner are gravely mistaken. Hog steadies himself and uses his bulk to great advantage. Vyper gets several warnings and even assistance from Mollock but never stages any kind of a comeback. Hog is able to drag the token laden Vyper into the centre of the ring and comes down with HEAVY LOAD. There is a collective wince throughout the audience as he impacts and just stays in the position fallen to pin Vyper. A worrying trend of upset losses has set in for Savage Kingdom and it is strongly linked to Vyper’s form desertion. Seems unlikely but could Murderer’s Row turn this around right at the end? Terak will certainly be getting twitchy.
Dreadnaught overcomes Gila by count-out. Dreadnaught’s ravaged body is slowing him down considerably. He is overheard saying to one of the CPC lackeys “I’d do anything to be the wrestler I was once was”. When he realises the comment was overheard he changes tone to tough talk and bellows “I’m going to teach Gila a lesson for spreading gossip and claiming we are related by snapping his scrawny neck”. However his attempt to show he is still a strong wrestler is undermined once in the ring. Tries and fails to put Gila away quickly. Gila doesn’t sell his big moves and worse still even manages some offence. Dreadnaught looks horrified and it takes several minutes to win but it took a brutal Piledriver out on the floor to do it. Disgusted by his lack of offensive power he then says to Doomsayer “okay, let’s do it” and stomps off.
Brainstorm and Zouave defeated Scion Nexus and Eagle. After Scion spoke of his admiration of Eagle immediate contact was made. They quickly agreed to team up and are not ruling out doing it again in future. They are given the nickname of the Titan Turbos owing to their incredible speed. Eagle looks honoured to be teaming with one half of the tag team champions. Scion is giving uplifting high fives to his temporary partner and looks pumped up. He quickly touches base with his father, Lord Nexus, and then talks to Eagle. Seems they have agreed that Eagle needs a chance to shine and will start the match. Sadly after a few minutes jostling Eagle gets into trouble and falls to THE DEMOLISHER from Zouave. Eagle gets up and is looking sheepish but Scion goes to him and gives him a pat on the back. Eagle later speaks with Qualitar says he is still taking baby steps in the GWF but feels a big improvement will be shown very soon. An unpopular announcement from HQ comes through to advise Brainstorm and Zouave have scored points for their respective teams.
Mutant savages Karah for a count-out victory. Cannibal was one of those laid low after sampling a Brymstone Bhaji earlier in the day. Apparently he hasn’t been able to leave the restroom since. Meant Mutant is left alone and expected to be self sufficient. Receipe for disaster that. With Death’s Head also injured by suffering after effects of his incredible performance at SUDDEN DEATH SHOWDOWN Murderer’s Row is down to barebones. Terak is ringside rather than Mollock to provide a calming instructing influence. Works well at first as Karah is full of fancy moves. However he lacks killer instinct. Mutant just keeps coming back at him and eventually Karah wilts under the barbaric attacks. Ends up being mauled outside of the ring and cannot get back. Mutant returning to the ring to take the win was unusual but it was more through an instinct to attack the ref than any awareness. The ref tries to raise its arm in victory but gets bitten. Security are called in to get a snare around Mutant’s neck to bring it under proper control.
