CARD 992 – THE GALACTIC GAMES (FINALS) – DEIMOS INTERGALACTIC ARENA:
Unlike the previous rounds tokens will carry tonight. With only 1 being lost between rounds. A bronze medal match has been added to round out the show to 8 matches. Commissioners Omega and Morpheus have announced that even though the matches are not affiliated to the GWF they will still resonate in the rankings and deciding of contenders. Long story short a title shot awaits the winner. No such murmurings from the CPC. But maybe Terminus, as one of their own, will be rewarded handsomely for the run he has been on.
Third Round:
Blazing Skull wins a wild battle with Malice to make the final 4. Malice pledges to make Blazing Skull pay “I owe Blazing one for trying to burn my mentor”. The possibilities this tournament has been throwing up is crazy. No sooner does the chance of Spike-Malice squaring off end that we now have people salivating over Blazing against Anarchy. No question that two Brymstonians wouldn’t be prepared to maim each other. In fact their manager, Maleph, would love it as it totally fits his mantra of chaos and disorder. But first Blazing has got to win and that might not be easy as he will undoubtedly be toning down the devastation of his finisher should the chance to use it arise. Even he’s not stupid enough to escalate a rivalry with the Gladiators by cooking one of them and doing lots of damage. The battle that occurs will be remembered for the amount of time it spent outside. Both abandoning wrestling moves to go completely hardcore. But Blazing keeps his ‘fire on ice’ and after managing to use Malice’s bulkier frame to make a ring post collision particularly impactful seized upon a chance to win. Applying BURNING TOUCH and unluckily for Malice a snake eyes roll sees him defeated. Given the levels of brawling that had gone on it was almost surprising that it didn’t continue on after the match but there seemed to be a mutual respect and both quickly left the scene.
Terminus outwrestles Anarchy. Terminus is the remaining CPC hope after Paragon bombed out. If he wins this thing they might find it hard to keep him in their Interstellar bracket. He’s on the lookout for gold again and will think he can aim a little higher if he delivers the gold medal. But that’s thinking too far ahead as this is a very daunting task. Anarchy started his GWF career a little slow but his reputation is growing all the time and he has been pretty ferocious in his eliminations of Buck Steele and Splatter to get to this point. He also has huge motivation to win as the carrot of facing Blazing Skull is being dangled. Expect the explosions that go on throughout Brymstone to increase tenfold if that happens. But all hope is extinguished as Terminus goes toe to toe with Anarchy. Took some fatigue along the way but managing to use HAMMERLOCK SLAM and a fortunate low roll means Anarchy cannot make the kickout. Such a shame as the potential civil war battles that were being hoped for, none of them will happen. So close to possible carnage. There will still reports of increased explosions back on Brymstone though. In rage or joy the locals like to pretty much express themselves the same way.
Chaos ends the run of Skinhead easily. Chaos can hardly believe his luck to of drawn Skinhead at this latter stage of the tournament. All due respect to Skinhead but his run has been unexpected. But Chaos shouldn’t go counting his chickens yet as Skinhead surprises him with a high energy start that sees him downed with an Elitist Slam. He is the last remaining hero and revelling in hearing the crowd cheers. Not something he has probably ever had given his shady past associations. Sadly that is about as good as it got for him. Next move he tried was a choke on the ropes but Chaos responded with a counter choke. Just two moves later Skinhead’s ribs were being crushed in BOW OF DEFEAT and he is beaten. He may of been blown away but it’s been a great tournament for him. Going far further than expected. Outlasting plenty of bigger names. With this win though Chaos has got to be the favourite now. Mandrill must be seething to see the progress made. He thought Chaos had been put in his place but this shows his position near the top is far from over.
Vengeance sees off Draconian Sheik. Even though these games have been about peace the wrestling matches have bought up so many violent pairings. Hard to believe but the crowd cheers for Drac over Vengeance here. The crowd always tends to get behind someone. They do it in hero against hero matches all the time and are doing it here for these two hardcore icons. But usually they would get behind a Gladiator rather than another villain. It’s a sign of how distrustful everyone is of Vengeance. The silent evil types always cause the most unease and he certainly fits that bill. But whereas Wolf came unstuck against Drac by trying too much brawling Vengeance is far smarter. Refusing to be drawn in too much and chipping away with things like his Eye Cleaver. Not that he can avoid brawling the whole time but it’s far less. Eventually Drac starts to wear himself out and Vengeance pounces with HELTER SKELTER to progress.
Semi Finals:
Blazing Skull is still on fire as he disposes of Terminus. Blazing succeeds where Anarchy fails. For a while it looks like he has met his match with Terminus. People forget how easily Terminus can adapt to hardcore and he’s more than capable of brawling it out. Blazing looks frustrated at his lack of progress but he’s more than capable of unleashing a blast out of his head at any moment and so it proves. After a Brymstone Bludgeon floored Terminus he moves straight in with DEATH BY FIRE. Again it’s the least potent version but to create bigger explosions takes longer to charge up and can make him vulnerable. With Terminus already carrying a small amount of fatigue already from the last round it is more than enough to get him pinned. Blazing is a very capable wrestler but it’s still a big surprise to see him make the final. If he does win then can be sure that gold medal won’t be treated with much respect and probably end up by thrown in some kind of lava pit. Brymstonians do not value possession or prizes. Terminus might be unhappy to lose at this late stage but the fact he outperformed Paragon speaks volumes. Will his employers recognise his impressive showing or hold it against him for failing to go all the way? Unfortunately everyone is so besotted by Paragon in the CPC you’ve got to go some to outshine him.
Chaos stomps all over Vengeance. It’s been a draining tournament but Chaos gets over the finishing line to qualify for the Gold Medal match. Vengeance had bragged that no matter how big any guy is all it takes is one Eye Cleaver to slow them down. After surviving a powerful start he manages to use the move. But it just made the giant before him even angrier. Chaos shrugs off the sadistic moves and pulverises Vengeance with Indestructible Drop. The perfect setup for another run with BOW OF DEFEAT. Vengeance holds on for two of them using his thumbs to gouge at the eyes and force a release but the third sees him sapped of so much strength. Chaos had the hold applied more firmly and was trapping the arms this time. Vengeance is beaten but Chaos keeps it locked in a minute more to be sure. Probably to make an example of Vengeance and at the same time send a big message to Mandrill. A kind of “look at me. Not even the Gladiators can match the power of Chaos”. He’s big favourite to win the event now. No tokens and into the final. Just needs to try and avoid getting burned.
Third Place Play Off:
Vengeance overcame his exhaustion to defeat Terminus. Not much time to recharge the batteries as Terminus and Vengeance are quickly back out. They don’t look too motivated having just lost their previous matches. Even though third is a great achievement still, so there is something to fight for. Vengeance, in particular, is struggling a lot after taking loads of punishment just a few minutes earlier at the hands of Chaos. But perhaps the Gladiator feud with the CPC would get him fired up. He has been overheard on more than one occasion to refer to anyone associated with that organisation as scum. However he almost immediately lost. Terminus got him with a sunset flip. Not the sort of move he’d expect to get caught by but it’s potency magnified through fatigue. Vengeance scissored his legs to crush Terminus’s head in nick of time. The scare is the wake up call needed. Vengeance doesn’t let himself get caught again. Wrestles very defensively and waits for a mistake. They always come and when Terminus let his guard down Vengeance pounces. Sometimes the damage of HELTER SKELTER causes is underplayed but it’s been responsible for many a victory. It claims another victim here as Vengeance wins the bronze medal. But he cares little for it and doesn’t even hang around to be awarded it. A few days later the medal shows up on an auction site so some lucky fan managed to somehow get their hands on it. It becomes the subject of a huge bidding war and goes for many times it’s perceived value.
Final:
Chaos makes a mockery of the grandeur of the final by annihilating Blazing Skull. No surprise to see Chaos adorning the final even allowing for the demise of power but his opponent Blazing Skull was never expected to last this distance. The sudden switch to Titan Death matches has helped him a lot but he still had to win those matches against high calibre opponents. Neither has barely a scratch on them having coasted through their earlier matches. There was a big build up preceding the match. The organisers wanting to make the final they’d been building towards all month long appear very prestigious. But I’m sure they were disappointed a hero hadn’t made it. A classic hero against villain battle would of been perfect. Under the circumstances Chaos has the crowd backing. Blazing has been responsible for so many past atrocities that nobody, other than those of his own race, could ever cheer him. He draws immediate jeering for cutting short the festivities. No time for all that as he pushes some dancers out the ring and demands things commence. He beckons Chaos towards his him. A senior official says to Chaos as he walks past “do us all a favour and destroy this chump”. With that Chaos strides towards Blazing and grabs a one-handed choke. Blazing grapples at the wrist with both hands and struggles to push him off. He just gets tossed backwards forcefully into the turnbuckle for his troubles. Chaos starting as he means to go on. Within just a few more moves he has BOW OF DEFEAT locked in. Perhaps a little risky to try it as it brings him in close vicinity with Blazing’s fiery cranium. But he’s applying such pressure that Blazing can barely muster a breath much less an explosion. Chaos waits for a minute and releases. Just as Blazing tries to compose and draw an inward breath he locks in again. Really constricting the ribs and lungs. He repeats the process and this time Blazing passes out pathetically in his arms. Chaos kicks his limp body out of the ring and basks in his win. Once the presentation is made the crowd urges Chaos to toss his medal into the crowd but despite enjoying their support he shows how self centred he still is. Proudly wearing this valuable commodity over his neck and then pointing down to his chest “this is all mine. The new symbol of my power. This gives me far greater strength than any piddling stone”. His eyes even seem to glow an evil red as he makes the remarks but am sure that was just an illusion from the lighting. At least we all hope it was. The curtain now finally comes down on this long tournament.

STARS OF THE CPC - VOLUME 2
The last digital release went down a storm. So another is commissioned. The emphasis this time is more on the matches but a couple of segments are still included. Although Colby and Pelf are keen to avoid the silliness of the GWF they decide to share one amusing moment because they know it sells. So in the first segment we see Mad Jester playing a juvenile prank on Sonora Pelf. She and Colby were hosting a lavish dinner for all the CPC members at the Palace. Sonora Pelf makes a long rambling speech about how privileged they all are to be part of the organisation. Whilst she is rabbiting on Jester, who has obviously raided a joke shop, slips a whoopee cushion onto her chair. As she finally sits the embarrassing sound emits and triggers crescendos of laughter. Even Magnus Colby was smirking. Suffice to say she didn’t see the funny side and demands to know who is responsible. Everyone sits like sniggering schoolboys under the interrogation. All refusing to grass until Paragon, like a teacher’s pet, dobs him in. Jester, still laughing, is forcibly dragged away by security to an unknown fate. Some of the others look like they might turn on Paragon but he doesn’t care. In his mind he is untouchable. The guy is so arrogant he probably thinks his sh*t don’t stink … Final segment is a little more serious. Centres on Colussus training. One to one session with Thantos. He is busily perfecting moves of all the wrestlers he has wrestled. Thantos is being a hard taskmaster and dares him to try and learn perhaps one of the riskiest moves that has existed in wrestling. Star Warrior’s COSMIC BIG BANG and not the namby pamby version of the late 2090s. He wants the prime full on somersault one repeated. Colussus is fed various jobbers as he attempts the move dozens of times. But even his cyborg brain cannot process the somersault move and he misses far more than he hits. He’s far from ready to poach that one. Then an exasperated Thantos demands Colussus applies MASTERLOCK onto him. Colussus is in pain from all the earlier misses so is only able to weakly clamp it on. Thantos sits and slaps him in the face from point blank range for it being so pathetic and weak. Colussus releases and is spoken to like a child “get out my sight and make sure you shower because you stunk the place out. Up your game or it’s back to the GWF for you”. For a fleeting second you almost felt sorry for Colussus. Guess you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Anyway now to the matches …
Thunder overcomes Paragon in a non-title match. A decorated singles career surely awaits Thunder. His solo matches are still being limited but he is let off the leash to take on Paragon. It’s a mark of how seriously he is being taken that Thantos left the comfort of the VIP gallery to be at ringside should things go awry. Even though it’s a non-title bout Paragon is still wearing the Heavyweight belt. He’s the sort of guy who would probably wear it in the shower. Thunder surprises him with an early attack on the runway and disrespectfully rips it off him. Holds it out in front of him and spits before throwing it to the ground. Paragon is hurt but makes sure he gets to the ring so he has the high ground. It works because as Thunder tried to slide in he dumps an elbow on his head for early control. The extra experience in singles action shows and Paragon is putting early tokens on Thunder. Looks like he has navigated this banana skin as FINAL OVERTURE is applied. But Paragon is gobsmacked as Thunder rides it out. Not only that but Thunder surges back and subjects Paragon to the same relentless offence that many of his tag opponents have to endure. A Thunder Moonsault comes within a millisecond of securing the pin. Thantos looks edgy watching this and it only gets worse with THE TEMPEST coming next. Thantos missed a cue for the distraction and Paragon shockingly falls to the move. It’s an alarming defeat but immediately Paragon brushes it off “it was a non-title match so it means nothing. I was treating it like a practice match whilst Thunder was taking it seriously. No way he can beat me under normal circumstances”. No matter what he says the fact is Thunder beat him and in the process added more weight to the claim he should he pushed into a pivotal role for the Gladiator team sooner rather than later.
Prodigy lucky to beat Lycosa by DQ. Prodigy dipping his toes back in the Cruiserweight division. Although Lycosa has underachieved Prodigy still sees him as the biggest obstacle to him once again dominating it. Prodigy burns to ringside on his motorbike with the words ‘so cool’ emblazoned on it. With shades and cigarette hanging out his mouth he certainly looks the part. He is on his lonesome but that didn’t matter as a few laps of the ring evens the score. With Darkos fearing for his life he departs the area to let these two aerial masters get on with it with no outside influences. In a daring move Lycosa leaps off the apron at Prodigy and takes him clean off the bike. The fall damages Prodigy so much he cannot get any foothold. Lycosa’s splashes outside the ring and BLACK WIDOW’S BITE leave Prodigy on the brink. Only on winner likely but then out of nowhere the bell. Prodigy controversially disqualified as the CPC officials decide retrospectively issue it for the leap that caused the bike to crash and cause ringside damage. Lycosa understandably annoyed but this is no place to vent. Prodigy victorious on this occasion but they are sure to be trading wins in the future as this feud gets into gear.
X-Termination and Skinhead overcame Desolation Factor and Monad. Chaotic 6 man tag action. Skinhead is most in the wars as he got locked in Monad’s SURFBOARD SUBMISSION twice and then Rack and Ruin spent several minutes brutalising him. Not quite panic stations yet as poor Skinhead finally gets a tag and crawls onto the apron. He was allowed to get away quite easily as Desolation Factor aimed to punish all three opponents despite Doomsayer’s yelling at them to finish it off. It proves to be their undoing as X-Termination change the momentum and start giving them a real battle. Grunge then nailed Rack with Hard Rock Crack and covers more in hope than anything else. It leads to an unexpected pin and gives Doomsayer’s team another bad result to ponder. Without question Desolation Factor are the biggest disappointments of the year.
Terminus pinned Heracles. Colussus joins Terminus at ringside to wind up Heracles. Thantos happy to let the crazed cyborg do the donkey work so he can have a rest. He’ll be busy later on piloting Paragon. Heracles immediately objects but when his eye catches the gallery suddenly goes quiet. He changes his tune and even orders Anaxis to go away. Why would he so willingly accept the odds being stacked against him? Unless he is still trying to broker a deal to enter the CPC which has been rumoured a long time. Anyway forgetting all that Heracles does well under the circumstances and hit OLYMPIA early but then fails to follow up. Too much trash talking with Colussus allowing Terminus to takeover. He is able to pin Heracles after HAMMERLOCK SLAM at the second time of asking.
Splatter beats Defender of the Realm by DQ. Splatter at his bullying best. He gets away with so much that you’d be forgiven for thinking was a Titan Death match. After being smashed into an exposed turnbuckle Defender was so groggy that was beginning to see things and swinging at thin air. Later he reveals he saw a mirage of Mad Jester. His unpredictable behaviour continues as he then pulls the barbed rattle from his pants and went after Splatter with it. The bell goes straight away. Splatter unusually wins by DQ. Normally he’s the one causing the disqualifications. The pair end up brawling to the back. It was worrying to see Defender in such a way. Usually he is one personality or the other but here he was in a kind of hybrid state.
Awesome Studs upset Titan Fury. Plenty of posing from Vanity in his Cruiserweight belt. Dynamo keeps looking over jealously and mutters “at least I’ve got the better body”. As they both pose Reynard B. Guile stands between them arms up as if to say ‘look at me too’. It’s just attention grabbing and he gets a rude shock as Rising Sun grabbed him from behind and sends him out of the ring. Posedown over and down to the nitty gritty. The Titans are in great form initially but despite using both their singles finishers on Dynamo cannot get him finished off. Vanity manages to get a run in the ring and belies his ropey stats to turn this totally the way of the studs. Leaves Rising Sun in trouble after LADIES CHOICE. Dynamo returns to the ring and gratefully builds on Vanity’s work. He uses MUSCLE RIPPER to seal an unexpected victory.
Velar comfortably beats Maxine Babe in a non-title match. Sparring practice for Velar. Surely Maxine wouldn’t pose her any problems. Velar has definitely been the dominant female this year. Considering some of her early problems last year it’s been a huge improvement. In fact it could be argued that both she and Terminus have been the stand out performers for the CPC in 2107. Of course someone like Paragon would dispute that. Anyway despite a weak opponent Velar can only beat what’s in front of her and that she dutifully does. Maxine offers a new move she calls the Bosom Bump and it’s quite effective as Velar ran into her and pinged off them. But you gotta do more than that to beat Velar. With nobody at ringside Maxine cannot follow up with DUDE’S CHOICE (even though she rolled it) and momentum was lost. After that it’s pretty much all Velar. Eventually using HAMMERLOCK SLAM to notch another one in the win column.
Matador of M83 easily defeats Dragonmaster. It’s been mentioned a lot already that this is Dragonmaster’s final year. Maybe the CPC are showing respect to that by booking him to face a legend like the Matador. Or maybe just giving Matador an opponent he can easily crush and look good. Either way DM is up for the challenge. Both managers, Thantos and Lord Nexus, stay pretty hands off. It’s an entertaining match to begin but Matador always looked like he had that extra gear. He ramps it up after a couple of minutes and a wave of L3O attacks culminates in BULLWHIP. Matador’s final act is to spit on DM and mutter “consider that a retirement present”.

Latest News:
Halcon Oro is getting fitter and stronger after his nasty injury hiatus. Aiming for a comeback in the next month or two. He could easily show up at a card when least expected. Will it be CPC or GWF? The treatment he previously received was shoddy but those closest to this private man says he harbours no hard feelings.
Much of the year has seen rumours swirling that Janus is unhappy in the CPC and ready to jump back to the GWF. But a contract extension signing posted in a Spacebook vid debunks that theory. In the background Commissioner Grogan is smirking and holding what is presumed to be a briefcase full of cash. He even has a wad of dollars sticking out his top pocket. Janus sticks two fingers up at Chaos by doing this and is ready to reignite their feud. Look for a match between CPC Rising-Chaos and Heracles imminently. Things might get really interesting if Chaos is holding the GWF Heavyweight belt which, due to his incredible month, could be a distinct possibility.
Mere months after disassociating himself Prodigy is back in the mix for Cruiserweight glory and intends to dominate both the CPC and GWF variants. He says “I’ve achieved everything in singles and tag. Nothing left to prove. So I have decided I feel like dominating the Cruiserweights again and to shut that pathetic jumping bean Lycosa up”. The more likely truth behind his decision is he is falling down the pecking order and his only realistic chance of wearing gold again is by doing this. Of course he’ll never admit it. Commissioner Grogan instantly promotes him to top contender in the CPC without having to earn it. His justification is that Prodigy never lost the belt in the first place.
The GWF is under pressure to suspend Sentry for injuring a fan during THE GALACTIC GAMES. However the event was not under their jurisdiction so it is unclear where the blame lies. So far the Commissioners have not taken any action. The big winner was Chaos and the achievement cannot be underestimated. To win 5 gruelling matches against top talent is pretty historic. It must be said the amount of violent battles were a bit tough to stomach for the organisers but overall it was a success. The hardcore guys fared pretty well and we nearly had guys from the same teams squaring off a couple of times. Sadly the heroes had a wretched time. The biggest blowout was from Pegasus who will now have to defend his belt against old enemy Chaos. He is his own harshest critic and says of his tournament journey “that was embarrassing. I may of got clattered with an illegal weapon but before that even happened I was all over the place. I will make it up to the fans by winning ONLY THE BEST, if it returns, next year”. But the spotlight falls rightly onto Chaos for his brilliant win. Mandrill posts on Spacebook “you are still inferior. A pathetic medal at some gimmick event hardly registers on the Richter scale of achievements. You should know your place and pledge full support to me. Maybe offer your medal as a tribute to me”. Chaos takes a few hours to respond. Just two words starting with f and ending with off.
Also sour grapes from Paragon after his latest loss to Chaos. He vows only to wrestle him at Pelf Palace from now on because there is too much favouritism at GWF venues. The guy needs to get real. He’s just not at the same level as Chaos. He couldn’t get the better of him in Dimension X and things are no better here. Cannot see that changing even into 2108. Anyway he better stop worrying about Chaos and focus on what’s coming his way next. The CPC is thrusting him into a title match with Vengeance so they can display superiority over the Gladiators on the big stage. They too are using the recent tournament as an influence on their rankings. Suddenly having shown no interest in competing for CPC gold the Gladiators are featuring prominently in the mix. Remember that Aethran Dominance might be sniffing around the tag belts very soon as reported in the news section a couple months ago. Especially if Desolation Factor manages to beat CPC Rising in the next tag title match.
Supernova will face Velar again and it is the LAST CHANCE to save the GWF ladies belt. If she fails to win it will be unified with the CPC belt. Then one of the brands will be dropped. As per regulations whoever the holder is affiliated to will be able to take the belt into that organisation. Should Supernova win then the counter resets but there will be no danger of a repeat as she intends to then defend each belt separately. Going to be interesting. This match is set for COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION 2 which the CPC hopes will be as successful as last year. Main event will be the Paragon-Vengeance match that was mentioned earlier.
In a potential fairytale ending Titan Fury will face the Gladiators for the GWF tag belts. The championship committee could be accused of sentiment by giving them the title shot but several teams were in the mix with none really standing out. It’s no secret that in his final year before retirement Dragonmaster would dearly love one last run with the belts. For sure it will be his only opportunity. Everyone will be rooting for him. But given the devastating form the Gladiators are in will be a huge upset if they do it. Let’s keep everything crossed.
INJURED – none; SUSPENDED – none
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
CHAOS - It couldn’t be anyone else really. The surprise runs of Terminus and Blazing Skull in the tournament were notable. However Chaos delivers big time and shows Mandrill he is far from finished as a force. It could be one of his best achievements ever. To beat 5 guys is pretty special but in every victory he was totally dominant. The casualty list was Ursa Major, Paragon, Skinhead, Vengeance and Blazing Skull. Hardly cannon fodder but none of them really laid a glove on him. If anything the least fancied of all these guys, Ursa Major, probably ran him closest.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:

CARD 993 – VEGA PALLADIUM:
Tag champs, Thunder and Overkill, win an epic over Titan Fury. Dragonmaster is bowled over by the fans support. This may not be the Titan Sportatorium but his popularity is far reaching. After all the excitement it appears the dream will be over very quickly as DM gets pulverised. Only quick thinking from Rising Sun saved him after THE TEMPEST. Just as all looks doomed we get a remarkable turnaround and DM has Overkill in agony with COBRA NERVE STOPPER. This came because he actually won an out of ring brawl and the Titans just kept on winning them. The Gladiators were shocked but none more so than when DAY OF THE DRAGON comes the way of Overkill. Now it’s the turn of Thunder to do a dramatic pin save. You kind of got the feeling that was the big chance missed. The Titans continue to fight valiantly but DM is subjected to more and more punishment. He is up to 5 tokens by the time DECAPITATOR is executed against him a second time. In between those he got squashed with TURNBUCKLE TRAP. Just too much for any mortal to handle and he was pinned in an almost unconscious state. Great effort by Titan Fury but the Gladiators march on.
US. Patriot stays hot to beat Spike and become new IP champ. Spike makes no secret that as soon as he drops this inferior belt he will take next step and pursue the Heavyweight belt and he doesn’t care who is holding it. But he’s not ready to give it up just yet as he absorbs Adam’s flying start and no sells FREEDOM FLYER twice. A powerful response then sees Adam in peril and on the end of MEGADESTROYER. Commander Sam tried to storm the ring but got met with a clothesline from Spike and sent tumbling. But maybe he bought enough time because Adam is able to kick out. Spike is enraged and wants Adam disqualified. The ref refuses and says Adam was the innocent party. If Sam had broken the pin that may of been different but the fact Spike moved across to attack him meant things could continue. Spike totally lost his composure after this and allows Adam back in. The crowd is on its feet as ADAM’S ATOMIC BLAST is used during the comeback. First time it failed but a second strike gives Adam the win and the belt. Yet another high profile scalp for Adam in 2107.
Death’s Head swats away Talisman. Cruiserweight belt not on the line or anywhere in sight. This one on one was triggered by Death’s Head attempted savage attack on Blade a few weeks ago. It was an unsuccessful first foray into the Cruiserweight bracket for Blade. Luckily Talisman averted a disaster and that brings us to here. Sadly his revenge mission comes to a grinding halt. His attempt to pin Death’s Head after AMULET DROP fails and he later goes down to the trusty FUNERAL MARCH. Erebus then infiltrates and the members of Lower World attempt an atrocious post match attack only for Blade to return the favour and save Talisman. When the brawl dies down the Centaurians challenge Lower World to face them in a cage match. Goes without saying that it’s accepted.
Hunters of Prey upset Rebel Empire by count-out. Lively encounter. Failed finishers all over the place. Mainly down to those stationed outside, Sentry and Mollock. Vendetta got mauled by Mollock on more than one occasion. Stupidly thinking he could take this beast on. The ref was getting annoyed by Rebel Empire’s attempts to incite Mollock. It came back to bite them for when Mollock entered the ring after SCISSORDRIVER on Wildcat the ref did nothing. In comedy fashion Nefarus dives out the ring to get away from Mollock and gets counted out in the process.
Vyper beats the returning Max Shield. Good old Max is back and hopefully refreshed. He says “I am sorry I missed the GALACTIC GAMES but I needed the rest and to help clear my mind”. Sadly some rustiness is in evidence and ultimately he goes down to VYPER’S SIDESHOW. His opponent, Vyper, was surprisingly complimentary about Max “that was tough, he was really energised. I feel sorry for whoever faces him next”. Max isn’t too despondent about the loss and says he cannot wait to get his hands on Mandrill very soon.
Manslaughter squashed Meteor. Over in a handful of moves via a blockbuster slam.

CARD 994 – PELF PALACE:
Desolation Factor flex their muscles over CPC Rising to finally claim the CPC tag belts. Even if Desolation Factor wins the belts here it won’t rescue a poor debut year in this dimension. Aethran Dominance is on standby ready to take them on should they win. Spike, now belt-less, will be a very formidable and motivated opponent if that happens. Despite the disappointment Doomsayer has had with his creations any immediate pressure is removed after Colby and Pelf granted him more money to pursue his work. He is apparently cooking something big up behind the scenes ready to unleash on us all. The fruits of his labour could be seen within the next 18 months if all goes to plan. But I digress. Janus and Matador are probably not holding the belts they desire but they are not about to just give them up even to another CPC team. They are about to lock up when Commissioner Grogan rises in the gallery to halt proceedings “I have decided this should be a true test between the top two teams in our organisation. Therefore I respectfully request both managers leave the ring area”. Neither is happy. Especially Thantos who hates taking orders from anyone but they depart with a minimum of fuss. Within a few minutes Thantos pops up in the galley seated next to Grogan. Neither says a word to each other. Back in the ring Desolation Factor handles the change better and set about battering their legendary opponents. Janus is the first victim and is knocked all over the ring. When Matador manages to get in there he doesn’t fare any better. He is used to handling big guys with all his skills but two juggernauts is too much to handle even for him. RACKED AND RUINED is dealt three times in all. Janus remarkably kicked out when he was the recipient. Matador needed a pin save to help him out. But third times a charm. Matador is on the end of it again and his team was out of pin saves. He gets pinned and the belts go to Desolation Factor. They are too short to fit round their huge waists so get slung over their shoulders. Deep down this is what Grogan, Pelf and Colby wanted. Now the chance to pitch them in a title bout against the Gladiators. Maybe Desolation Factor is at long last ready for them. If they devour Aethran Dominance then Thunder and Overkill will surely be next. A remote possibility but it could be yet another title for title thing.
Interstellar champ, Colussus, sees off Dark Justice. Justice playing a smart game by leaving the rod behind. The Mercenaries being ringside was prevented and the CPC ref would need very little excuse to DQ him. He instead tries to prey on Colussus’s mental instability. Calls him a traitor of the worst kind by jumping ship to the CPC and warns they are just using him. When his usefulness is over he will be dumped like a bad habit. As Justice points and says “should of been smart and stayed in the GWF” Colussus loses it. Runs full speed at him shouting “shut up, shut up”. A swift sidestep from Justice sees Colussus bury himself into the turnbuckle. Thantos yells at Colussus to keep calm. That kind of behaviour is not befitting of someone associated with the Penthouse Suite. All this is a trigger for an intense match that Colussus gets the better of. He just had a little more meaningful offence than Justice. Used his own SHOCK PROBATION against him but it was actually a backward head slam that seals the win.
Blazing Skull defeated Bishop Hell in a Total Anarchy match. Not for the squeamish. The second of the three revenge matches. The Bishop, having lost the first one, is determined to not only beat Blazing Skull but see him carried away on a stretcher. He has so many reasons to despise him. You’d think chief among them would be way he was burned leading to weeks in hospital. But the truth is Bishop Hell always resented the way Blazing came in and stole his mantle as being the fire guy of the fed. Even when they teamed as kindred spirits the plan was always to turn on him but banishment prevented that happening. In the Bishop’s mind right now is finally the time for payback. He certainly wrestles much better than the last time they met. Hitting the better moves but the moment Blazing gets some decent offence he panics and bails out the ring. Fearing for that exploding head. Unfortunately he landed straight on a mine and his body is too shocked to react to the subsequent pin in the runway. Just one more revenge match left for the Bishop now. He’ll have to win pretty big to emerge from this mini series with any honour. It will be a sad way to end for one of the wrestling’s most notorious villains to lose to a cleansweep.
Splatter bloodied Pollux in a cage match. This is nuts from Pollux who agrees to take on Splatter in his natural habitat. Arsenal didn’t even get confiscated. How many moves could Pollux survive? Double figures would be seen as a success. I suppose taking such a risk has gotten him out of the usual curtain jerking role. Pollux survived as far as 7 moves. This actually included a reversal from a leg crippler by Splatter. His L1O move off the back of that was quickly shut down as a turnbuckle whip was easily reversed. Splatter angrily makes Pollux pay with a Blood Bash and then batters up for MEET ARSENAL. He leaves the cage and uses Arsenal to smash the electronic box that controls retracting the cage into the floor. It means medical assistance takes longer than usual to reach Pollux and delays the next match by several minutes as things are hastily fixed. Poor Pollux spends the night in hospital with bad concussion. At least he lives to fight another day but was it worth it?
Lycosa beats Prodigy in a classic. It’s not really turned out that way yet but there is little doubt that these two along with Enigma represent the cream of the Cruiserweight division across both feds. Prodigy has mainly been focused on Lycosa in this department but Enigma’s turn would be sure to come. Initially Prodigy was losing the battle of agility. Can’t get near Lycosa who is doing gravity defying things like walking the ropes. In one amazing show jumping off a turnbuckle onto the ropes and springs off halfway to end up on the next one. These funky moves from Lycosa leaves Prodigy deeply unimpressed. He shouts “you can’t bounce around like that forever. Sooner or later you will have to engage. End this circus act now”. That moment comes sooner than Lycosa had planned for Thantos now pushes him off the turnbuckle. Lycosa athletically somersaults to land on his feet but Prodigy immediately smashed into him with a clothesline. Darkos cries foul but is silenced by a shushing gesture by Thantos. He’s clearly intimidated by the Evil Gamemaster. With that done let the proper grappling commence. From then on its 5 star goodness. Don’t need to describe in detail. You can imagine how good a match these two can serve up with all the counters, failed finishers, aerial moves and manager interactions. By the time Lycosa finally put Prodigy down via a missile dropkick the token count was 4 to 7. Stunning stuff and even though the CPC guy had lost the VIP gallery saw fit to applaud.
Skinhead coasts to victory over Defender of the Realm. Dramatic as Mad Jester is booked but Defender comes out to wrestle. Puts down the theory that the Jester side is stronger at Pelf Palace. Skinhead shows his competitive spirit as he is still keen to wrestle. The ref looks up to the gallery for approval. Gets the thumbs up from Commissioner Grogan to go ahead with the match. When Defender offers a handshake to start Johnny Rocket urges Skinhead to tread carefully “don’t trust him”. Skinhead listens to the instruction and withdraws his hand. Defender twitches as if he is about to fly into a rage but then seems to count inside his head to try and stay calm. Not that it does him any good because Skinhead breaks his journey to that happy place with a frenzied opening salvo. Defender can barely catch his breath as he is perpetually hit with BAD ATTITUDE until beaten. The match was probably not much more than 3 minutes long but in that time Defender had accumulated 5 tokens. That’s how one-sided it was.
Halcon Oro dazzles against Mutant. Good to see the Golden Hawk back. Shame it’s within the CPC walls. He is refusing to show any official allegiance or say much at all. Just wants to entertain with his dazzling moves. Even after that freak injury he is not being put off. Would his skills be enough to tame the wild Mutant? The chances of bloodshed are nullified by the Terrorists presence being blocked. Instead a third party team of handlers is hired by the CPC to control it whilst inside of the Palace. Outside of that the CPC couldn’t care less what happens to Mutant. It becomes a happy return for Halcon Oro as he is far too speedy for Mutant. Nipping round the ring and picking it off at will. Finishes it in just a few mins with AVE DE RAPINA to announce his Cruiserweight credentials. No doubt he will be watching the next match between Prodigy and Lycosa very closely.
X-Termination goes over the Awesome Studs. The bickering between the managers Johnny Rocket and Reynard B. Guile is almost as entertaining as the match itself. Especially when B. Guile rolls up his sleeves ready to give Johnny what for only to take on air shot and fall over. Seems to give up after that. Probably through embarrassment. Sloppiness from X-Termination means a match they should be winning comfortably takes a lot longer than it should of done. Grunge got easily distracted when he should of been pinning Vanity after HEADBANGER’S BALL and let him off the hook. Fortunately Sleeze doesn’t fall into the same trap after METALHEAD MAULER on Vanity and gets it finished.

CARD 995 – COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION 2 – PELF PALACE:
CPC Heavyweight champ, Paragon, loses to Vengeance by DQ. Paragon would never show anything other than outward confidence but inside he is dreading this. Vengeance is capable of not only beating him but also causing great harm with his sadistic moves. The Eye Cleaver has caused many problems down the years. However he knows winning this will go a long way to repairing the reputation of the CPC who have been very much second best to the Gladiators. To win a showpiece match like this is worth several victories at mere house shows. It is obvious that Vengeance means business as Thrash trails him out. She mostly only accompanies Overkill but sometimes is ordered to broaden her bodyguarding for very important matches. Paragon looked put out and spoke with Thantos. Was he trying to get her removed? In the end nothing happens. Leaving her be would make winning even more meaningful. She certainly plays her part in the match as does Thantos. A violent attack by Thrash saved Vengeance after FINAL OVERTURE. This followed Thantos saving Paragon after HELTER SKELTER a few minutes earlier. Paragon looks like he’s now had enough and takes the action into a brawl. Managing to put Vengeance over a table. He’s fishing for the DQ loss to save the belt and gets his wish. The angry post match reaction of Vengeance is to wait for Paragon to turn his back whereupon he rips a spike from Thrash’s shoulder pads and starts trying to carve him open with it. Blood is spilt but security is very quickly on the scene to drag Vengeance and Thrash away. Lots to talk about in aftermath. The CPC-Gladiator feud hotting up and revelations that Paragon picks up a 2 card injury as a result. Vengeance warns he will be back for the belt.
Prodigy easily beats Vanity to regain the Cruiserweight belt. Prodigy tells Vanity you may as well just give me the belt now. Vanity laughs and reminds Prodigy that if he just lost to Lycosa there was no way he would be winning here. It’s like a red rag to a bull as Prodigy flies at Vanity acrobatically with foot extended and takes him down. Despite warnings not to continue interfering Reynard B. Guile just cannot help himself. Very worried about how Prodigy was so dominating. He is deeply embarrassed when the ref grabs him by the back of the jacket and tosses him through the middle ropes and onto the floor. Thantos holds out a hand to help him up but then withdraws just as B. Guile reaches to grab causing him to fall again. Thantos laughs and walks away. Just shows how far down the pecking order B. Guile has fallen within the CPC. Back in the ring it’s all going to plan for Prodigy. He’s busily dishing the whole repertoire on the hapless Vanity with THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER as the crowning glory. The Cruiserweight belt back in his clutches. Let’s hope he doesn’t get bored of it again. Surely a match against Lycosa awaits next month.
Supernova defeats Velar to win the CPC and GWF Ladies belts. This is it. The fate of the GWF ladies belt rests on this. Unbeknownst to Supernova the CPC has inserted a 10 minute time limit into the small print. It’s a race against time. Supernova knows she’s not been given a fair crack of the whip but encouraged by Star Warrior she throws caution to the wind and just goes for it. She is just incredible. Giving Velar no time to relax. But there is worry as countless pin attempts fail. Velar just kept hanging on and time was ticking. Supernova doesn’t let it get her down. Keeps doing wants she is good at. Even at one point grabbing a retreating Velar by the hair to stop her leaving the ring. That was smart as it gave no chance for Velar to force a DQ loss. Supernova learns from Star Warrior she’s only got a couple of minutes left and gives it one final huge effort. An incredible sequence of moves ends with SPEED OF LIGHT. Her third in the match and this time Velar has no response. Supernova saves the GWF belt. Star Warrior hugs his sister on the achievement. Sonora Pelf has a face like a smacked ass as she watches the presentation. Even Magnus Colby looks like he has just swallowed back some sick during all this. Velar slinks towards the turnbuckle to get out of the way and have some thinking time. After a minute or so she then looks up at her employers hands together as if begging forgiveness.
CPC Rising in the groove to beat Chaos and Heracles. Things have been heating up ever since Janus committed his immediate future to the CPC. Chaos thought a return to the GWF was in the bag and visualised the glorious rebirth of the Citadel of the Elite. But he is unable to dwell on Janus. Chaos is then forced to watch Thantos with a laser focus after the Evil Gamemaster seems to exchange a brief word with Heracles that makes him smile. Can Chaos trust his long serving ally and probably his only friend left? The wrestling action that followed gave no hint that Heracles was about to switch sides as he fights Janus and the Matador hard. Maybe thinking he is in the shop window. It is closely fought. Janus and the Matador doing a much better job of handling bigger opponents than they did in the losing of their tag belts to Desolation Factor. The finish is pretty unspectacular. The Matador caught Chaos right in the nether regions with a one-leg karate kick. As Chaos doubles up in pain the Matador rolls him from behind and gets the victory. Just holding on long enough before Chaos kicks him halfway across the ring with those powerful legs. Chaos is not a gracious loser and says the result is unimportant as he is about to become the GWF Heavyweight champion (next card) and some match on an overrated show in a crappy organisation means absolutely nothing.
Monad beats Dreadnaught in what was a brutal battering. Dreadnaught comes out waving the flag of Cygnus. Not sure why he is doing that here. Each to their own I guess. He seems pretty desperate for attention these days and doesn’t want to be forgotten. Doomsayer laughs at pathetic he looks and taunts “you really are scraping the bottom of the barrel with all that patriotic nonsense. Your stint representing the FDF and fighting alongside Americans has forever tarnished you”. With that Monad steams in with all 4 arms. Rips the flag from his grasp and feeds it to him. Dreadnaught chokes violently on it but manages to pull it out. Attempting to use it as a strangulation aid but those arms. Oh man, they are just everywhere. Dreadnaught cannot cope at all. He very quickly falls into QUADRUPLE CLAMP and passes out in the hold. Monad holds it in for good measure before releasing. Dreadnaught slumps face first onto the mat. Medics enter and try to rouse Dreadnaught but he is dead to the world. Stretchers are brought out to remove him so things can continue.
Defender of the Realm flamed Bishop Hell. One more extra match than planned for Bishop Hell but an irresistible one as it revisits one of his most famed feuds. Would Defender be blowing back HELLFIRE into his face for old times sake? Bishop Hell was showing no ill effects from his mine encounter on the last show. At his villainous best and breaking the rules to his heart’s content. Is totally dominating and manages to burn Defender with HELLFIRE after several minutes. Defender’s defence mechanism failed him but his body didn’t as he managed to evade being pinned. Plus many times after that as Bishop Hell caught him with FLYING CROSS several times. Perhaps frustrated at the resistance the Bishop decides to risk HELLFIRE again. This time with disastrous consequences. Defender telegraphs it and times his jet stream to perfection to roast the Bishop instead. The Bishop falls back clutching his face and Defender dives on with a cover to win. It’s another loss for Bishop Hell. Maybe he shouldn’t of bothered coming back.
Pegasus fends off Mayhem. Way down in the mid-card. A meeting like this would be a nailed on main event in the GWF. But if your not Paragon or holding the Heavyweight belt then you’re just not that important in the eyes of the CPC. Pegasus, by nature, is not one to enjoy being out of the spotlight but maybe it’s a welcome relief for once to wrestle with a tad less pressure. Although it’s still very important to win. He hasn’t got Star Warrior managing him. They both agreed it was vital that he spend as much time possible with Supernova instead. Mayhem hasn’t wrestled since his Carnage deception was rumbled almost 3 months ago so is chomping at the bit. Goes for Pegasus with maximum intensity as soon as the bell sounds. Pegasus tries to be as ready as he can. He absorbs some ferocious early offense and then the class takes over. Mayhem just about survives PROJECT PEGASUS but as he steadies himself is almost immediately taken down with a bone-crunching clothesline. Pegasus hooks the leg and gets the pin. Then dusts his hands and gets on his way. A quick salute towards the VIP gallery as if to say “thanks for the easy match”.
Dynamo too strong for Brainstorm. The barnet of Brainstorm is restored and he’s looking for revenge against Dynamo and Vanity. He gets his chance against Dynamo here. Darla had still been in hiding refusing to emerge without her locks but some hair extensions have restored her confidence. She is back cheerleading and will have to do a good job as Maxine Babe is absent. Apparently off shooting some silly music video. Anyway Dynamo starts with a muscular pose and kisses his ‘guns’. Brainstorm takes advantage of Dynamo being unguarded and plants him into the turnbuckle. He scoffs “more muscles than brain cells”. Goes on to dominate the early part. Reynard B. Guile seems pretty distracted by Darla. When she calls him a pervy old man he shrieks “relax, I was just checking out your pom poms”. However he gets his attention back on the bout just in time to pull a crucial distraction after Dynamo is on the end of THE BRAINSTORMER. With that bullet dodged Dynamo recovers and wears Brainstorm down with several Dynamo Rib Crushers before going onto win via MUSCLE RIPPER. He looks down on his beaten opponent and remarks “not so smart now” before giving Darla a special flex to ogle. She seemed to like it.
Rack over Spike by DQ. The path being trod by Spike is pretty haphazard at the moment. After a brief run with the IP belt is being heavily rumoured to be honing in on the GWF Heavyweight belt very soon. Or at least once the dust has settled on Pegasus against Chaos. But he’s also mixed up in an unexpected CPC tag belt battle. Although it is not against fed rules most wrestlers prefer to concentrate on one one belt or discipline. The demands are too great otherwise. With Spike being older those demands might take a greater toll and could end up winning neither. He’s not listening though and believes he can win it all. Anyway next step is this singles contest against Rack and it’s pretty epic. Spike thought Rack would be totally out of his depth in a singles match and be a walkover. He is immediately surprised by Rack’s powerful opening and has to absorb RACKED AND RUINED, adapted for singles, early doors. Spike finds another gear quickly and goes for MEGADESTROYER three times in quick succession. But nobody is selling anyone’s big moves. The battle rages on and on. Rack must of dealt X-treme Slam about 10 times in all. A great match deserved a better finish but Spike causes damage during an out of ring brawl. The zero tolerance of CPC referees was never going to ignore that and the DQ is called. But this was far closer than anyone expected. Things setup great for Desolation Factor against Aethran Dominance to advance this rivalry.
Malice crushed Ruin. It is a certainty that Desolation Factor and Aethran Dominance will wage war over the CPC tag belts next month now. Appetisers are booked pitting the protagonists in singles matches first. The Gladiator duo is heavily favoured. Malice backs that up with a dominant win. Despite losing an early power battle which caused a few gasps he has way too much in his locker. A little flick of the wrist sent Doomsayer tumbling when he’d clambered clumsily on the ring apron. It cleared the path for FIELDS OF MALICE. Took great care not too miss and hit the mark perfectly. Ruin was nowhere near mobile enough to avoid and gets easily pinned.
Frozen Fury defeats CPC Lottery by DQ. A chaotic tag contest if ever there was one. Vyper is careful to keep his snakes in the sack. No telling what Genocide could do to them if he spawns. Unfortunately it gets nowhere near that far. Blizzard and Splatter are having a wild grappling contest which spills outside. Splatter then goes for his weapon and attempts to swing at Vertigo who got too close to him. The speed of Vertigo enables him to avoid a potentially devastating blow. Arsenal strikes the ring post instead and pings out of Splatter’s hands. Blizzard then tried to grab the loose weapon and smash the bag of snakes but Vyper just about got them out of harms way. Looks like all hell might now break loose but a dozen security guys descend on the area to restore order. The announcement of the result almost got lost amid all this.
Hunters of Prey beat Theatre of Pain by DQ. One for the purists. Kind of. With exception of Tragedy all the guys involved have skills that are very pleasing on the eye. Sadly Tragedy ruins the spectacle after just a couple of minutes as he viciously throws Wildcat into a table.

CARD 996 – SATURDAY NIGHT STARSLAMMERS – VEGA PALLADIUM:
Midshow nonsense as a Maxine Babe music video plays on the big screen. Am sure this didn’t get approval from the Commissioners. She sings very badly and it’s more about her flaunting her ample assets right into the camera along with a load of other airheads. Cannot even remember the name of the song it’s so bad. Her band is called Maxine and the Babes and there is no way they are going to the top. Well not on singing talent but sex sells so maybe they will. Her dire song will become Brainstorm’s (now with hair grown back) new entrance song. So unfortunately we will be hearing this again.
Heavyweight champ, Pegasus, back to his brilliant best in beating Chaos. Immediate drama as Magnus Colby and Sonora Pelf wander out to the ring before things can commence. Who is doing the security round here? Very lax. They demand to be treated like royalty. Never going to happen on the GWF’s main show. Star Warrior was about to head them off but Pegasus wants to see what they have to say. Turns out their purpose is to issue a challenge to the winner to once again come to Pelf Palace to defend the GWF belt against their champion, Paragon. Their proposal will see the GWF champion paid over a million dollars as an appearance fee. This is very dangerous. The GWF went to great lengths to stop the titles being unified at GALACTICON but the CPC is not giving up. If they can get public acceptance of the challenge it will be difficult to back down afterwards. Chaos angrily tells them to get lost but Pegasus wants to think about it. They thank both wrestlers for their time before retreating. Colby is heard saying to Pelf “I never thought I’d say something like this but let’s hope Pegasus wins”. Which he dutifully does. He recovers from his poor GALACTIC GAMES performance to completely own Chaos. A real show of strength with a Pegasus Press Slam which stunned Chaos to get this won in just a few minutes. Pegasus gets lots of questions after the match about his intentions. He seemed to be struggling to wrap his head around it and merely said “I am not ruling it out”. Maybe this is a plan. The sort of thing Commander Sam is good at coming up with. They could get the CPC Heavyweight belt much the same way as what has happened with the ladies belt and end it’s branding upon unification if Pegasus keeps hold of it. He’s certainly capable of doing it but that would be a risky game. Johnny Rocket even gets involved on Spacebook and dares Pegasus to do it. Only problem is the Gladiators. Or more specifically Vengeance. Where he does he fit into all this after what happened between him and Paragon at COUNTDOWN TO DESTRUCTION? He’s not just going to quietly melt away into the background.
Cruiserweight champ, Death’s Head, beats Scion Nexus by count-out. The belt having been subjected to so much abuse on Brymstone just falls apart in the ref’s hands as he takes it to the announcer’s table. A new one will have to be made. An unwelcome extra cost for the GWF. Scion is determined to rescue it and have it restored. He has a big appetite for making a name in singles and starts fantastically. Ignoring Maleph and dancing a merry dance around Death’s Head. That is until he tries his finisher. Trying to adapt it so it can be done outside the ring. It’s a risky move and requires such precision at the best of times. This was just suicidal and he gets pushed backwards and lands heavily outside. Death’s Head follows him out and checks his pulse in mocking fashion before shaking his head and breaking into evil laughter. Returning to the ring to accept his count-out win. Lord Nexus has trouble attending to his son as Maleph kept swooping with his sharpened talons extended. Eventually Lord Nexus bats him away so he can get to Scion and help him to safety.
Wolf beats Draconian Sheik but it’s only by unsatisfying DQ. Wild stuff. Wolf is trying to move on from his feud with Terminus. In his mind that feud was won but Terminus is still trying to stir things up from time to time. For now though Wolf has a new challenge in dealing with Draconian Sheik and once again he actively embraces the presence of the dangerous Terrorists. He owes Drac one for beating him at THE GALACTIC GAMES. But Drac is still proving to be a thorn in the side. Brutally early savaging saw Wolf propped in DRACONIAN BACKBREAKER. Even when Wolf turned it on and clamped SAVAGE FACE CLAW he got powder thrown in his eyes by one of the Terrorists. Of course the ref was distracted. This put Drac back in the driving seat. So much going on as next the ref got bumped. He was only out for 5 moves but tokens racked up in that time. When he comes round Drac was just about to try and slice Wolf with a razor. He calls the DQ on sight of this. Not sure if it was for the bump which was caused by Drac or this. Probably both responsible. Just as well it was over. There was so much blood that the ring was resembling an abattoir.
CPC Rising show their superiority in dealing with the Stormtroopers. Not a bad response to losing their CPC tag belts as Janus and Matador pick up a second consecutive victory straight after. Matador was a little below his best and struggled against Hammer a bit. But when Powerhouse got tagged in it was a different story and he was able to outwrestle the lumbering oaf. Janus was then tagged and he impressively slammed Powerhouse as if he was light as a feather. Then seeked to finish it off via GORDION KNOT. Cassandra tried to cause a distraction but Thantos pulled her off the apron and wagged a finger in her face. CPC Rising was clear to close out the win. Their future plan is still uncertain but maybe the thinking of Thantos is for them to push for the GWF variants somewhere down the line? With Desolation Factor destined for a date with Aethran Dominance it seems logical to try and pair Janus and Matador with Thunder and Overkill next. Of course that doesn’t mean Desolation Factor won’t be coming for Thunder and Overkill again. A rematch between those two teams is inevitable.
Terminus wins a tougher than anticipated match with Brainstorm. Ear trauma for the fans as Maxine Babe’s lousy song is played for the second time tonight. Brainstorm hair is a focal point after recent events. He has it all slicked and Terminus spots how OCD he is being with it. He cannot wait to mess it up. In fact that’s the first thing he does before giving a snipping finger gesture. Darla screams ‘noooo’ on sight of this. Is she frightened for herself or for Brainstorm? Anyway Terminus tires of the silly games and seeks to get this won. If keeps winning matches against GWF guys, especially Wolf who is still in his sights, then his employers cannot keep him out of the CPC title picture. He is keen to get his hands back on the Interstellar belt he previously held for so long. Colussus proving to be an annoying roadblock for now. Although he won’t of overly impressed his bosses here. Really struggles and has a hairy moment after THE BRAINSTORMER. Managed to get himself a modicum of control and a couple of fortunate rolls puts him in a position to execute HAMMERLOCK SLAM. The resulting roll just low enough to get Brainstorm pinned.
Ninja Assassins get the better of Royal Flush. Jack thinks Defender’s appearing and winning against Bishop Hell at Pelf Palace is significant and shows he is winning the personality battle. Everyone else is not so sure. But at least Defender makes the curtain call again here. The royal duo look really fit and are able to go the distance with the Ninjas. Attributed to Commander Sam’s guidance. He always whips anyone under his management into shape. Shows in the way Defender is able to withstand relentless offence from the Ninjas. He kicks out after DOUBLE EDGE SWORD and even comes through DEATH POINT STRIKE x3. A fourth hit followed and it’s that which finally does for him. Word is that the winners of this match were on the brink of getting the next shot at the tag belts. The Ninjas will need another high level of performance if they are to stand any chance against the Gladiators.
Gila pinned Meteor. It has been a breakthrough year for Gila. His popularity is high and has a shock win over Monad at the Palace under his belt. But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. His wrestling ability remains low and taking on Meteor is closer to his level. Even though he is favourite. Unlike some of their past meetings where there was animosity this has been replaced with a handshake in keeping with Gila’s new outlook. Meteor is still rumoured to be dabbling with some nasty stuff and his trembling hand is a likely side effect of all that. However he still gets cheered for his call. Even though Gila’s reception is up a few decibels from his. Meteor goes onto have one of his longest matches. Normally he doesn’t last long but Gila’s offense is a bit toothless. Takes a good few minutes before Gila finally does his GUT CHECK and it knocks the stuffing out of Meteor.
Cassandra sees off old rival Ms. Liberty. The talk of the women’s division may be all about Velar and Supernova but these two ‘old timers’ still have something to offer. It doesn’t take a lot to move up the ranks with the thin roster so winning here could put them in the mixer. That chance will go to Cassandra as she is largely dominant. Finds Ms. Liberty’s repeated kick outs frustrating but eventually uses WHIPS AND CHAINS to beat her.

Latest News:
CARD 1000 IS COMING AND THERE ARE PLANS TO MAKE IT A BIGGIE!!! A mega celebration to be held on Deimos and on Kronos. With all that in mind NIGHT OF THE LIVING LEGENDS is back. The card will be staged in two parts. One will be held on Kronos featuring some incredible matches with real historical significance. Normally specific time periods are the focal points but this will celebrate all eras. The other part will be held on Deimos. On the regular card a mega surprise is in store as Lord Nexus has confirmed he will come out of retirement to wrestle! Maybe some other stars of the past will be convinced to do the same? There are a handful of guys from card 1 that are still active today and hopefully they’ll all feature in some way. Solaris is heavily involved and loving the responsibility as it is keeping him active and his brain sharp. Johnny Rocket cruelly laments the involvement of Solaris and says the old codger is stuck in the early 2090s and ignores the stars of the current glorious era, namely his team.
Supernova saves the GWF ladies belt. What a historic moment it was as she foiled the CPC plan to eradicate it. The GWF Commissioners are glad to see the whole thing in the rear view mirror. Velar has enjoyed a great year but to say her bosses were furious with her is an understatement. Can she recover quickly? They will meet again very soon but for now no titles on the line. Just a good old fashioned feud match. Being the sly old dog that he is Commissioner Grogan has said “if the GWF is a reputable organisation they will give Velar a title rematch. Especially if she wins the next meeting”. Omega will want to be seen as fair and may find it hard to argue against such a statement.
Partisan support for Pegasus in his plan to put the GWF Heavyweight belt on line against Paragon’s CPC belt. Commissioners Omega and Morpheus support the decision but will not let the match take place at Pelf Palace. It must be on Deimos or nothing. Colby and Pelf will be reasonably happy with this outcome and pledge to still pay Pegasus half the proposed appearance fee but they will have to deal with Vengeance first. He is furious with Paragon’s actions in their recent CPC title match and demands a rematch. Or face unthinkable Aethran retribution. It was up to Grogan decide? Or more accurately Colby and Pelf. As we all know Grogan is a mere puppet. I rolled on his Commissioner card and the decision was that Vengeance must beat Paragon in a non-title match otherwise he is no longer the top contender and the shot goes to Pegasus in a title for title match again. It’s a wise decision as it makes the CPC look credible by not completely dismissing Vengeance’s claim. However the whole plan falls apart for them if Vengeance actually goes and wins. Not entirely out of the question even allowing for probable ref bias towards Paragon.
Are we reading too much into the actions of US. Patriot? He brilliantly gunned down Spike to win the IP belt. Commander Sam joyously handed him the American flag to wave as part of the celebrations. Adam grabbed it to mop sweat from his brow and then just handed it back to a shocked looking Sam. For someone so patriotic that was very odd. Maybe he just didn’t realise what he was doing during the emotion of winning. Will Spike now move attentions to the GWF Heavyweight belt? With Vengeance conveniently part of a storyline surrounding the CPC belt the path is clear for him but he does have a shot at the CPC tag belts coming up. That could work against his suitability. But Spike wants as much glory as he can get. Eyes bigger than his belly perhaps.
A crafty wrestling journalist breaks news that Lance At-Las rejoining the GWF next year is a done deal. Using a device to record keystrokes on a computer in the public area of the Deimos HQ. A high ranking official foolishly used it instead of the personal machine in his office. Suffice to say the journalist in question has been banned but GWF is still refusing to confirm or deny but it’s become one of the worst kept secrets ever. They were trying to be cloak and dagger and were banking on this being one of the biggest stories going into 2108 but it’s already lost its impact. Not to say it’s a total disaster. Lance was one of the most beloved guys of the 2090s and will have an instant big following. Maybe even help win some fans back from the CPC.
Where are the CPC lottery attacks Vyper and Splatter have promised against winning GWF wrestlers at Pelf Palace? The year end is in sight and we have not had a single incident. For sure when it happens, and it will, is sure to be big.
Final note is on all the CPC belts. The policy until now was that the belts would only be defended by CPC rostered holders every other month. Whilst GWF registered holders would still need to defend each month. Sensing how unpopular this is Colby and Pelf have ordered Commissioner Grogan, wondering if this guy is capable of making his own decisions, that this is scrapped and title defences for all champions will more or less follow the normal pattern.
INJURED – Paragon (1); SUSPENDED – none
WRESTLER OF THE MONTH:
SUPERNOVA - When looking back over wrestling history there are many significant moments. Scenarios where if it had not happened that way things would of turned out very differently in the GWF. Her defeating of Velar at Pelf Palace to save the ladies belt is one of those. The fed is under enough strain as it is and to of lost one of their belts may well of led to further and more rapid crumbling. It would most certainly of driven most female fan interest towards the CPC.
TAG TEAM OF THE MONTH:
DESOLATION FACTOR - Remember this is an award given by GWI magazine and not the GWF. Perhaps a cop out to honour Desolation Factor just because they finally won the CPC tag belts without really deserving their title shot. But to beat a team containing Janus and Matador is no mean feat. It felt like the dawning of their domination and as such has sent suitably large reverberations through the wrestling community.

CARD 997 – PELF PALACE:
Paragon controversially defeated Vengeance in a non-title match. Title not on the line but the outcome has huge ramifications for the GWF. If Vengeance wins he stays #1 contender to the CPC belt. If he fails then get strapped in for another title for title match. Paragon carries a slight lingering leg injury to go with a facial scar from the last meeting. Thantos orders him to keep it from being visible as it’s a sign of weakness. Vengeance is intelligent though and goes after the legs straight away. It doesn’t look good at all for Paragon as he is getting creamed. Gets even worse as he gets the Eye Cleaver and not long after HELTER SKELTER. But the value of a manager, especially one as cunning as Thantos, comes to the fore. He distracts Vengeance by getting on the apron and questioning his leadership of the Gladiators. With all the background changes that have been happening and the reemergence of Spike it’s a delicate subject. It strikes a nerve with Vengeance and he goes to confront Thantos. It saves the skin of Paragon and allows him to smash Vengeance from behind and get on L3O. Thantos gets involved again when Vengeance bails out of the ring to try and break Paragon’s momentum. Nailing the wobbly Vengeance with Satanic Skull Smasher. The ref conveniently misses the act. Vengeance then gets pitched back in the ring and Paragon finished him with a Whirlybird Backbreaker. The way this played out isn’t going to help CPC-Gladiator relations but it ensures the title for title match will now happen later in the month at NIGHT OF THE LIVING LEGENDS. It’s a double blow for the Gladiators as it ends their chance of claiming the CPC and GWF Heavyweight belts. For now at least.
CPC Tag champs, Desolation Factor, keep the belts despite losing to Aethran Dominance by DQ. Start of a big month for Spike. He could easily end it holding the CPC tag belts and the GWF Heavyweight belt albeit dependent on the outcome of the main event. Not bad for somebody supposed to be over the hill. He immediately stamps his authority by slamming the monstrous Ruin as if he was a cruiserweight. That’s as good as it got though. What follows is one of the dullest matches ever rolled. It went on and on with nothing really happening. Even most of the VIP gallery was yawning. It was a relief when Doomsayer tried to attack Malice outside the ring. The ref, who was almost asleep himself, perked up to call the DQ. Doomsayer suffered a press slam from Malice for his troubles but he’d kept the belts safe by taking one for the team. Technically Aethran Dominance should get a rematch but the thought of booking this again must be giving the CPC nightmares. Ratings took a massive slump after just 5 minutes of this. Even though things pick up for the main event. But another contest like this could make people switch off for good.
CPC Interstellar champ, Colussus, strolls to victory over Skinhead. You could almost feel Terminus somewhere in the background willing his team mate to lose. As long as Colussus holds this belt he cannot make any moves towards it. Unfortunately the wait will have to go on. Skinhead offered absolutely no threat. Colussus nearly beat him in just 2 moves. Skinhead just about avoided that embarrassment but there was no let up. Barely a couple of minutes later ROBOTIC DEATHBLOW left him seeing stars. Johnny Rocket’s pathetic attempt to storm the ring just ended with him being grabbed by the back of his jacket and thrown out again. Colussus then turns attentions back to Skinhead who still wasn’t stirring and stands on his chest for the pin. Outside Johnny is in a heap and Thantos adds to his humiliation but shoving his mic into his mouth and taping over what little was left sticking out. Then reaches into Johnny’s pocket, removes his phone and takes a selfie of him. Within seconds it had reached all Johnny’s social profiles as his new avatar.
CPC Cruiserweight champ, Prodigy, too good for Lycosa. Last time they met Lycosa won a classic and has the psychological edge because of that. Sandwiched between now and then Prodigy casually reclaimed the Cruiserweight belt. With it now on the line he was sure to be a tougher proposition. Thantos had stayed ringside through most of the show. Sat next to the announcer’s table. He is having such a busy night with his guys so really no point leaving. In the past Darkos, when in the presence of Thantos, has been subdued when managing his guys but he has been far bolder as this match drew closer saying “I’m not intimidated by Thantos. He was once a great man and villain leader. Those days were a long, long time ago. I will do what I have to do so that Lycosa can become the champion. On ring skills alone he would walk it but I know there will be chicanery”. Bold speak but time to back it up with actions which he actually does. For when Prodigy went for a deathjump early in the contest Darkos actually gave him a sly nudge from behind to ensure he missed. It was discreet and only obvious on replays. It put Lycosa in control and even led to him using BLACK WIDOW’S BITE. It would not prove to be enough. Prodigy turns the tables with a swift sunset flip off the ropes to stun Lycosa. Quick as a flash he is following with THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER and before anyone has much chance to process what’s happening Lycosa is pinned. Darkos angrily confronts Thantos afterwards and demands an immediate rematch. Leads to fisticuffs with Lycosa and Prodigy joining in. Security has to restore order and it is assumed both Darkos and Lycosa are ejected from the Palace with force.
CPC Ladies champ, Supernova, is in hot form again to overcome Velar. Fair to say ladies wrestling is really back on the map thanks to these two. Their battle over the belts has been legendary with Supernova recently winning them both and keeping the GWF branding alive. True to her word she is now defending them separately. Feisty stuff as much of the action takes place around the ring rather than inside it. It’s a bit of an eye opener seeing Supernova prepared to brawl but this shows how passionate she is about her fed and representing the GWF. Star Warrior certainly says nothing to stop her aggressive style. He refrains from tangling with Thantos who has stayed ringside from the last match to be with Velar. Star Warrior sticking to words of encouragement for his sibling. She does him proud. Exploding out the blocks with SPEED OF LIGHT x2 within the first 5 moves. Then resisting a fight back of sorts in the middle of the match to then finish strong. Her finisher was attempted again before a tilt-a-whirl slam put Velar down for good. I probably made more of Velar’s middle stint than it was. It felt like Velar was getting something going but her ending stat of 7 fatigue tokens compared to Supernova, who didn’t have any, suggested otherwise.
CPC Rising wins a cracker over Ninja Assassins in a match where Scourge was ref. This is the sort of thing Commissioners Omega and Morpheus want to see less of. Matches that have big meaning in the GWF taking place at Pelf Palace. The winning team here will go on to challenge for the GWF tag belts. But the CPC has managed to snag the match and stack the odds in their favour by calling on the corrupt Scourge to officiate. It becomes a brilliant advert for tag wrestling with two top teams slugging it out. Scourge playing a part with slow counts and ignoring chances to DQ the CPC duo. Helped out when the Matador fell victim to DOUBLE EDGE SWORD a couple of times. On the Ninjas side Hydrax caused great frustration to Janus by refusing to let GORDION KNOT overcome him. The fatigue count was high on both sides by the end which came as Matador lanced Daeman with a running torpedo. With that CPC Rising advances to a GWF title match with the Gladiators. For the Matador it’s a chance to become part of an elite group that has held all 3 major GWF belts. Add in his reigns with both major CPC belts it surely makes him the most decorated guy in wrestling history. He arrogantly brags “it just proves my greatness”.
Mayhem overwhelmed Grunge. Johnny Rocket never hesitates to send his guys to Pelf Palace. Johnny may not be everyone’s cup of tea but he is to be admired for his efforts to take the CPC on. Grunge would much rather be wrestling tag or probably partying but he is prepared to take on the crazed Mayhem if that is the wish of his manager. He gives a decent effort and even rattled Mayhem with KILLER AIR GUITAR before he began to get overwhelmed. Mayhem beating him with DANGER ZONE. Johnny has to scarper as soon as it’s over for Mayhem starts swinging his chain dangerously close to him.
Vyper crushed the Creeper. Is this what Vyper envisioned when he joined the CPC? Curtain jerking against the Creeper? He doesn’t seem too bothered though and gets great enjoyment from beating anything associated with Savage Kingdom. After dispatching it in a few minutes following VYPER’S SIDESHOW he turns to Terak and says “that thing always gave me the creeps. Why don’t you do us all a favour and put it down”. Really saying something coming from someone who plays with snakes. To Terak’s credit he doesn’t rise to the baiting, all he cares about is getting the Creeper away safely.

CARD 998 – THE COLBY CUP – PELF PALACE:
The CPC evolves the tournament and extends invites to 2 GWF wrestlers. Star Warrior’s Champions have no interest in supporting this blatant OTB rip off so that rules them out. The Gladiators are at war with the CPC so they are not interested either. Most of the roster in fact were against wrestling leaving Colby and Pelf a bit miffed. Tellingly Heracles couldn’t step forward quick enough. He was the only one leading to calls that he is a traitor and that the GWF should suspend him. Nobody is going that far yet. Wonder what Chaos thinks about it? He is pretty low on allies and can hardly afford to lose Heracles as his right hand man. Thantos’s Penthouse Suite guys dominate the entry list and will no doubt be brought into conflict with each other. Both the Matador and Janus miss out though as the CPC needed to do some whittling and use the excuse that they are seen as an official tag team rather than singles wrestlers. Not music to their ears to be described in this way. It is for that same reason that Splatter and Vyper are not involved. Not sure why Mayhem was snubbed though. The surprise inclusion at all of their expense being Halcon Oro. For all matches nobody will be at ringside but other than that no special rules. Thantos sits up in the VIP gallery throughout like Lord Muck observing proceedings with Colby, Pelf and Grogan.
Blazing Skull defeated Bishop Hell in an added main event attraction. This was originally planned as a 4 weapons match but gets changed to a regular match as Blazing pledges to burn the Bishop one last time. In special matches this is a grey area because I feel the possibility to cause injury only happens if a DQ occurs. The Bishop says bring it on “I’ll burn him before he can burn me”. The caveat to any possible suspension that could occur to Blazing Skull is that it won’t mean anything in the GWF. Whilst other than these revenge matches Blazing is suspended from the CPC anyway (a long suspension if it happens as a result of the match could extend it into next year but probably unlikely). So he’s pretty much free to cause as much carnage as he can. Although with Maleph being kept away from ringside it might lessen the severity. Anyway it all becomes one big anti climax. Lasting just a few minutes with Blazing mostly controlling. But when reaching L3O he spurns any attempts to cause a fiery explosion. In his second pinning attempt reached via a deathjump cross body block it’s enough to finish the Bishop off and sweep this revenge match series. Maybe he had more in the locker and hadn’t expected to achieve the pin so easily. It’s been a dire last year of action for Bishop Hell. There is a planned match with longtime rival Pulsar still to come soon but even winning that won’t change much.
First Round:
Colussus trounced Monad. Domination from Colussus. If this had been at a GWF arena would of been over far quicker. But with the rules on pinning Monad being more relaxed it gives him chances to kickout after ROBOTIC DEATHBLOW x2 and also Colussus’s interpretation of THE PERFECT SINGLES FINISHER. Colussus is unrelenting though and soon goes for his own finisher for a third time in the match. This time successfully to progress. A little side note is Prodigy didn’t take kindly to Colussus ripping off his finisher and got in his face about it after the match.
Defender of the Realm upsets Paragon with a DQ win. Paragon continuing to think everything revolves around him and insists that as the CPC champion he is carried to the ring on a throne. Colby and Pelf indulge his wishes. But he gets a rude shock when he is halfway down the runway and Defender of the Realm jumps the curtain call. Everyone had been expecting Mad Jester. Paragon tried to jump off the throne but Defender got there too quick and unbalanced the lackeys carrying him. Paragon was sent tumbling into a clumsy heap. Paragon struggles to compose himself after that early embarrassment and comes close to a really early bath after being hit with DEFENDER CANNON twice. Seemingly let off he takes over but cannot believe it when Defender survives FINAL OVERTURE. Two further attempts with it later on leave him exasperated as Defender reaches the ropes to break the hold. Then the pendulum swings again and Paragon is back under the cosh. He manages to shove Defender backwards when he’d been poised for a deathjump. Then the unbelievable arrogance and belief he can do what he wants takes over. Rather than pitch Defender back in the ring he just grabs a chair and starts smashing him with it. Even in the CPC a blind eye cannot be turned to that. The nervous ref disqualified Paragon and looked up at the VIP gallery. A shrug of the shoulders as if to say “I had no choice”. Against the odds Defender progresses but he will take 2 tokens into the semi making Colussus heavy favourite.
Heracles goes over Prodigy by count-out. Could this be the final CPC audition for Heracles? He would dearly love to beat Prodigy. A guy he never had much love for even when they were on the same team. It’s a total mismatch for power but Prodigy has been dealing with bigger and much stronger guys all his wrestling career and has been littered with success. He threatens to add another big name to his list of wins. Far too slippery for Heracles and looking the likely winner. But the moment he got himself trapped in a Heracles Power Clamp it sapped his strength and slowed him down. Although Prodigy still had breathtaking moments Heracles was slowly but surely getting on top. A couple of ferocious impacts with OLYMPIA brought him closer to victory. But it wasn’t until a big body slam out on the red carpet next to the rails was delivered that he was able to end it. Heracles was blowing himself but just about staggered back into the ring to accept a hard earned count-out win.
Terminus eliminates Halcon Oro. Terminus thinks he got the plum draw but he better not underestimate the Golden Hawk. However he was pretty switched on and deals with Halcon Oro’s aerial repertoire pretty easily. There were some nice moves from Halcon Oro but no real substance. Terminus eventually grabs a stylish win with a double knee lift doing enough damage to pin the token laden Halcon Oro and move into the next round. He and Colussus are now the only ones now carrying the flag for the CPC. Terminus will be especially confident of making the final. Barely a mark on him and looking fresh.
Second Round:
Colussus comfortably beats Defender of the Realm by DQ. Colussus picks up where he left off in the last round. Absolutely crushing Defender. Not put off by his spat with Prodigy over copying finishers he steals from Scion Nexus to use THE RISE AND FALL during the match. It’s not as impactful as when Scion does it but at least he doesn’t get pushed backwards. It’s a risky move even for an expert. Defender musters enough to get a foot on the ropes to break the pin and then rolls underneath to get out of the ring. Sensing he is not going to last match longer he goes for broke and drives his spear (not the sharp end) into Colussus’s midriff. Hoping that somehow the ref either misses it or lets it go. Fat chance. Barely a second later the bell rings and that can only mean DQ. Gets worse as the spear hit the robotic part of Colussus so didn’t stave him off. Defender was groggy and got the weapon taken away and used against him instead.
Heracles digs deep to see off Terminus. Physically Heracles was in a bit of trouble. Beating Prodigy had taken a lot out of him. With 2 tokens like an albatross around his neck it was important he won this quick if he was to stand any chance of going all the way in the tournament. Rumour was that Colby had set him an ultimatum if he wanted acceptance into the CPC in 2108. Prove your worthiness by winning the trophy. On top of that incentive would be the fact Colussus was waiting for him in the final. One of the longest and most intense feuds in wrestling would have an incredible stage if it happened. But it was tasty no matter who made it because Terminus isn’t too fond of Colussus either. Resenting how he is dominating the Interstellar belt that he desperately wants. So down to who wanted it more and on this occasion it was Heracles. He shut Terminus down and got some powerful moves in early. Terminus struggled to hold him off and when Heracles collided twice with OLYMPIA it was just too much to take. Heracles hooked the legs on the second one and really leaned into the pin attempt to make the final and a date with Colussus.
Final:
Heracles beats his rival Colussus to win the tournament. What a final. Couldn’t of been scripted better. Heracles actually in better shape than he was at the start of the last match having taken very little damage and the brief rest allowing him to shed a token. Colussus was still the fresher though. Barely been tested in the earlier rounds. It would be interesting to see what his status within the CPC will be should he win. This trophy added to what has been a very strong run with the Interstellar belt probably has him as the stand out performer on the Penthouse Suite. Could he be destined for greater things? Or will everyone be in Paragon’s shade no matter what they achieve. Anyway that’s a question for another time. Heracles was looking the more relaxed as they both entered the ring. The ring announcer was making a long rambling speech at the behest of Colby and Pelf bragging about the greatness of this tournament and the growth of the CPC. Also showing off what was being wrestled for. An unfeasibly large trophy with CPC emblazoned on it in expensive diamonds. Heracles just leant on the ropes to observe whilst Colussus paced up and down twitching every now and then. When the bell finally sounded Colussus then furiously went for Heracles who was still leaning. He casually moved aside and Colussus went tumbling over the top rope. An embarrassing start and even more so when every time he tried to get back in Heracles was stamping down on or near his fingers. The crowd were getting restless and eventually the ref intervenes. Telling Heracles to back off and allow Colussus back in. Finally they can get started proper. Maybe the early games from Heracles was a mistake because it seemed to invoke such rage within Colussus. He peppers Heracles with repeated Cyborg Spinwheel Kicks and has two pin attempts with ROBOTIC DEATHBLOW. Heracles easily kicked out both times but it was not looking great. A backward head slam follows and Heracles groggily rolls outside to break the relentless L3 attacks. It is vital because as Colussus showboats in the ring after such a dominating opening Heracles is clear headed enough to reach in and grab the ankles. Drags Colussus outside and pitches him straight into the ring steps. The ref was hesitant to call a DQ. It was likely Colby and Pelf wanted a decisive finish befitting of a final. Colussus is outside alone again. Heracles has the high ground. But no finger stamping this time. Instead he waits for Colussus to enter and mows him down with OLYMPIA. It totally shakes Colussus up and he is beaten as a result of the move. Heracles thrusts an arm up in celebration. The presentation of the trophy is quick to take place and Colussus is quickly shepherded away in case of a reaction. As Heracles holds aloft the huge trophy the VIP gallery all applaud. Was this the moment of acceptance?
