In any fed I run, I will only use the Galaxian/World, Galaxian/world Tag, a secondary title, and a tv/holovid title. If I decide to use the women's card then they will have a title as well.
The tv champ is a beat the champ title. It will be best 2 out of 3 falls (from the WCCW days), but if you have 5 succesfull title defenses ans keep the title you get a shot at the secondary title on the next card.
I believe that if you are good enough, it should not matter of your weight, (See Rey Misterio, and COTG Euritar as great examples), which is why I will not have cruiserweight title.

I don't know what I'll do as I get further on into the years with my GWF Restart, but as of 2075 in my Early Classics fed, I only have the Universal and GWF Tag Titles. I don't plan on adding the Interplanetary until probably 2088. When I was playing my New Beginnings fed, I had the Universal, Tag Titles, Interplanetary, Special Matches (or Heavy Metal or WarGames...I can't remember which), Women's and a Cruiserweight. I think I ended up combining the Special Matches and Cruiserweight because I realized that I had jumped the gun and that there were way too many titles that could be fought for in my fed.
In my restart, I may add another title in 2091...but I'm not sure. I know that like Havoc, there was a point in time in the WWE and WCW that I felt that there were way too many titles that could be fought for. It got to the point that the only ones that I even paid attention to were the Main title, Secondary title, and Tag titles.

It's a hard balance to maintain--you want to keep titles "rare" enough that they still mean something, but you also want to have something for everyone to strive towards. The bottom half of your roster isn't likely to contend for your main belt, but if there is a hardcore, television, or some other tertiary title, they aren't lost in the shuffle of mediocrity.
At one time, I had the Galaxian Heavyweight and Tag Team belts, the Interplanetary Title, a Ladies Title, plus the Hardcore Wargames Title, Deimos Heritage Title, and Light Heavyweight Title (the latter three would have been unified into the "Triple X" Title at some point in the future, which would have encompassed elements of all three belts). I also had Galaxian Six-Man Tag Belts, but the most memorable reign for that Title was when Mayhem, Brute, and Massacre won them, and Mayhem defended them alone in a year's worth of 3-on-1 handicap matches.
One thing I always wanted to do in order to make the "major" titles (as well as certain other yearly honors, such as the King of the Ring, Wrestler of the Year, or Wilson Cup Tag Team Tournament winners) is commission special artwork for the guys that win--a new shot of the wrestler holding or wearing the belt, or possibly with a trophy for the more "sentimental" honors like wrestler of the year. When I was playing the GWF regularly and maintaining a website, it would have really made those champions stand out.
Maybe I'll still do that with OMEGA, if I can get Jeff D. or Werner to play along.

I think the number of titles depends on several factors, including how many wrestlers you have in your fed, how many feds you run, and whether or not you follow the feuds/storylines laid out by Tom Filsinger and company.
I have two feds, and each fed has three belts: NUPW - Heavyweight, Tag Team and Interstellar Championships GWF - Universal, Tag Team and Intergalactic Championships
It should be noted that my GWF is the "big" fed (with a roster of 40 to 50 wrestlers) with a focus on titles and the top 10, and the NUPW is the "Japanese-inspired" smaller fed (30-36 wrestlers)with far more emphasis on feuds and alliances than on titles won and championship matches.
I'm a big believer in "less is more" when it comes to belts, and I personally think that (even with my status-oriented GWF set-up) great feuds and marquee match-ups are more than enough to keep the "out of the title hunt" guys busy - and prominent - in the wrestling universe.

I couldn't agree more. If you’ve got good feuds/storylines going, belts aren’t as important, cause everyone has something to do, or someone to fight…and it keeps the actual winning of a belt a pretty big deal.
Take my fed for example. I’ve just picked up again, and Payback © is the Champ, but because Monolith just made his debut, and a bunch of the mid-upper card guys are all embroiled in a tag feud…Payback and the GWF Title haven’t really been in the spotlight…but my fed is still picking up steam, and the fans ‘seem’ to be enjoying it, so belts aren’t the end all be all of a good, vibrant fed. The GWF Title is still THE belt…and is a big deal…but the rest of the fed is ‘busy’ enough so the belt and its holder don’t have to carry the fed.
Then again…the Tag Team Titles have become a very hot commodity in my fed recently…with all the teams having their own reasons for wanting the belts.
I’m also a big believer of promoters doing what they want…and although I personally don’t like a lot of belts in my fed, I think its cool how other promoters have very specialized Titles, with specific rules and matches that go with certain belts. And having another belt for the low-mid card guys to fight for does help give them something to realistically shoot for…and just gives you one more thing to build feuds/storylines around.
