Sam the man in this new pic. wonder if Mutant is one of those that didn't evolve? or Ghengis Khan? 30th anniversary is going to blow the summer away and whatever Tom & Chuck have done will be in the words of the NWO and Young Bucks... Too Sweet

I think I'm going to predict that Comrade Terror is one of the characters that evolved quite drastically... Not sure, but I thought I read somewhere that he was not originally intended to be an alien at all...
If that happens, we can relive one of the most classic feuds of all-time... Shattered Universe Style!

I'm interested to see the Chuck Carter characters. I have an interview that Mark did with Tom prior to the first GalactiCon (so old it's on a cassette tape!) where Tom talks about character ideas that never happened. I recall one was for the Titans, maybe the character that Pit Viper evolved into, called The Avenger. The other one that comes to mind was a Native American character like Omega called "Chief Starjumper". I am not making this up... Maybe I can try to track that tape down and find other character ideas that were scrapped.

I want to say I remember seeing that some place before...I for sure remember the Native American character reference (not sure if it mentioned "Chief Starjumper" by name).

Did some searching, haven't found the tape yet. I'll try to poke around my COTG boxes in the basement this weekend.
Pete's comment got me thinking, I'm almost positive that the original idea for the Galactic Punisher was the Chief Starjumper character. This interview took place between Invasion 2089 and 2090. In the interview, Tom mentioned a tag partner for Ghengis Khan named "Attila" who became Mitsuko the Mongol.
I will keep looking, fellow promoters. I wanted to find the copies of the original newsletters that Tom put out before the Club Galactica Super Report. I think Pete referenced those in another post a few months ago.

Different Lord Nexus Uses AVENGER SLAM to Finish Business!
The big 30th Anniversary game pack is coming in July and a different version of Lord Nexus leads the charge!
This Lord Nexus may well have jumped out of the pages of a comic book. His moves like “Superhero Soar” and “Aerial Dynamite” will pack a punch! Gone are two TITAN DROP finishers. This version of Lord Nexus finishes business with his AVENGER SLAM!
Who will win when you pit the original Lord Nexus against the “true original” first version coming in July? You’ll find out! You can also schedule a big battle between the 30th Anniversary Lord Nexus against sworn enemy Invincible Krakan!
You’ve now seen “original” unused concepts for Commander Sam and Lord Nexus that were brewing in Tom’s mind three decades ago. Who is coming next? A hint: it’s two villains. You’ll get 4 “original concept” cards in the 30th Anniversary pack with design and card stats by Tom and drawn by Darryl Banks, as well as 2 “missing” cards from the original 1987 game by Tom and Chuck Carter.
WHAT A GREAT SUMMER!
