From: filsingergames.com/filsinger-and-carter-to-reunite-in-upcoming-cotg-anniversary-pack/The original creative team is back!
Tom Filsinger and Chuck Carter will reunite to create new Champions of the Galaxy game characters for the first time in over 20 years!
“We just started working on one of the characters, Chuck was showing me the card art, and it felt like the old days all over again,” said Tom.
Two new game cards by Tom and Chuck will be included in the upcoming COTG 30th ANNIVERSAY pack. In keeping with the theme of the original game the cards will be in black and white. Tom explains:
“Look at it like two characters that didn’t make the cut for the original 24 cards. Same era. There will be back stories provided for both of them. What a blast to go back in time like this!”
If that’s not exciting enough, there will also be four new cards released by Tom and Darryl Banks!
“Some of the original characters evolved to be quite a bit different from my original ideas. What I’m doing with Darryl is going back to my original concept for four guys. Totally different image and art. It’s been a lot of fun working on this with Darryl!”
The four cards by Tom and Darryl will be color cards, making a total of 6 cards in the pack.
Get psyched! The COTG 30th ANNIVERSARY pack is coming this summer as well as COTG 2132! Watch for more news in the days ahead!I am very excited for this set. We will get two new 2087 black and white cards by Chuck Carter and four 2087 color re-do cards by Darryl Banks. I am looking forward to see if the black and white cards are without stats just like the original set and who the four re-dos are. (Maybe Avenging Warrior will be one of the four color cards.) What do you think of the COTG 30th Anniversary Pack? Which original character will get a re-do?

I'd be most interested in seeing a different take on Massif... Without the mountain climbing gear...

I think the big difference to the 25th Anniversary Set is that the new color cards will not be re-makes of the original cards. They will be based on the original concept for the original characters.

Yes, thats right. The 25th anniversary had colorized versions of the charcters as they were actually portrayed in the original set. These cards are completely different concepts for the characters that Tom originally had in mind that were eventually changed for a variety of reasons. At GalactiCon this year I'd expect Tom to talk through the story behind each of these characters. We will be recording that for folks who can't be there in person.

BTW, Tom said that Death Knight will not be part of the set. It was pretty funny when Tom said this on the podcast. Wiggy mentioned my tweet in which I said this was a great announcement. At hearing my name Tom said that Death Knight would not be included! My next tweet expressed disappointment at that announcement, but I got over it quickly as this is still a great release. BTW, the first thing that went through my mind for cards was the original ad that is pictured in this thread. Anticipation is already high!

It will be awesome to receive some insight into the Master Planner's creative process... Kinda like a whole new layer to the Future Shock concept... If certain characters had not evolved in the manner in which they did, how could it have impacted the GWF story generations later? Talk about Butterfly Effect... Filsinger Games - Blowing Minds: Past, Present and Forever! Talk about Butterfly effect... can you imagine if Flamboyance would have been the greatest tag-team in the GWF? Or if Mutant would have been the longest reigning GWF champion in history to this date? My mind keeps thinking now what type of run these stars would have had...
