And a bad year in celebrity death continues
ANN MORGAN GUILBERT-(DICK VAN DYKE SHOW
Ann Morgan Guilbert, known for her memorable roles on The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Nanny, and seen recently on CBS' Life in Pieces, has died at age 87. Guilbert was battling cancer and passed away Tuesday, THR reports.
Guilbert's career spans many other TV appearances, including roles on shows like The New Andy Griffith Show, Emergency!, The Fanelli Boys and Picket Fences. She is perhaps best known as Millie Helper on Van Dyke and as Grandma Yetta on The Nanny.
Guilbert was married to the late actor-producer George Eckstein
RONNIE CLAIRE EDWARDS(THE WALTONS)
Ronnie Claire Edwards, best known as Corabeth Walton on The Waltons, died Tuesday at the age of 83.
Born in 1933 in Oklahoma City, Edwards began acting professionally in the 1960s. It wasn't until the 1970s when she began to make guest appearances on television.
In 1975, Edwards got her big break by joining the cast of The Waltons during the show's third season. The series was already a hit, ranking as the eighth most-watched show in the country in the Nielsen ratings. Edwards' character, the shy yet eccentric cousin of John Walton, eventually became a fan favorite, appearing in over 100 episodes.
After the show wrapped in 1981, Edwards continued to appear on television, starring in a couple short-lived sitcoms like Boone and Sara. The actress also made guest appearances on more popular programs like Murder, She Wrote, Designing Women and Dynasty.
