With the upcoming Las Vegas Expansion Draft coming next summer I thought it would be interesting to keep track of all the trades this year as teams move asests they probably won't be able to protect for players they can more than likely keep:

For the purposes of this thread I'll only post trades that have happened since Las Vegas was officially announced:

May 25th:

Florida sends D Erik Gudbranson and 2016 5th Round Pick to Vancouver for F Jared McCann, 2016 2nd Round Pick and 2016 4th Round Pick

May 26th:

San Jose sends F Dylan Sadowy to Detroit for a 2017 3rd Round Pick

June 13th:

New Jersey sends F Graham Black & F Paul Thompson to Florida for F Marc Savard & 2018 2nd Round Pick

June 15th:

Chicago sends F Byran Bickell & F Teuvo Teravainen to Carolina for 2016 2nd Round Pick & 2017 3rd Round Pick

June 16th:

Dallas sends D Alex Goligoski to Arizona for a 2016 5th Round Pick

June 20th:

Arizona sends F Maxim Letunov & 2017 6th Round Pick to San Jose for 2016 4th Round Pick & 2017 3rd Round Pick

Nashville sends F Jimmy Vesey to Buffalo for a 2016 3rd Round Pick

Anaheim sends G Frederik Anderson to Toronto for 2016 1st Round Pick (30th Overall) and 2017 2nd Round Pick

New York Rangers send D Keith Yandle to Florida for 2016 6th Round Pick & 2017 4th Round Pick (Conditional)

June 23rd:

Colorado sends G Reto Berra to Florida for F Rocco Grimaldi

June 24th:

Montreal sends F Lars Eller to Washington for 2017 & 2018 2nd Round Picks

Chicago sends F Andrew Shaw to Montreal for a pair of 2016 2nd Round Picks
*Canadiens then signed Shaw to 6 year extension*

St. Louis sends G Brian Elliot to Calgary for 2016 2nd Round Pick and a Conditional 2018 3rd Round Pick

Arizona sends F Joe Vitale, 2016 1st Round Pick (20th Overall) and 2016 2nd Round Pick to Detroit for F Pavel Datsyuk and 2017 1st Round Pick (16th Overall)
* Pavel Datsyuk is retired from the NHL and playing in the KHL, Arizona takes on his cap hit to meet cap floor*

June 25th:

Buffalo sends D Mark Pysyk, 2016 2nd Round Pick & 2016 3rd Round pick to Florida for D Dmitry Kulikov and 2016 2nd Round Pick

Tampa Bay sends D Anthony DeAngelo to Arizona for 2016 2nd Round pick

Pittsburgh sends RW Beau Bennett to New Jersey for 2016 3rd Round Pick

Dallas sends G Jack Campbell to Los Angeles for D Nick Ebert

Toronto sends D Scott Harrington & Conditional 5th Round Pick to Columbus for LW Kerby Rychel

Colorado sends D Nick Holden to New York Rangers for 2017 4th Round Pick

June 27th:

Calgary sends D Patrick Sieloff to Ottawa for F Alex Chiasson

June 29th:

Edmonton sends F Taylor Hall to New Jersey for D Adam Larsson

Montreal sends D P.K. Subban to Nashville for D Shea Weber

July 2nd:

St. Louis sends G Anders Nilsson to Buffalo for a 2017 4th Round Pick

July 8th:

Toronto sends G Jonathan Bernier to Anaheim for a 2017 Conditional Draft Pick

July 18th:

Ottawa sends F Mika Zibanejad and a 2018 2nd Round pick to New York Rangers for F Derick Brassard and a 2018 7th Round Pick

I wonder if Anaheim will trade one of their two good goalies since they can only protect one of them in next year's expansion draft?

Just before the Las Vegas Announcement Frederick Anderson was sent to the Leafs.

I'll update the above post with all trades in June.

The main post now reflects all trades made since the Trade Deadline - minus a March deal that was made between Carolina and Edmonton that was probably awaiting league approval from before the deadline.

The Frederick Anderson deal now means that Toronto will probably make Jonathan Bernier available in the Expansion draft if they don't end up moving him before hand.

[Vegas]

a name I hear alot about possibly being available in the expansion draft for Las Vegas is Winnipeg's defenseman Jacob Trouba. I guess Winnipeg might make a trade though like Anaheim did with its goalies situation though to address that.

God I hope not, Trouba is a great young and developing D-Man. Hopefully my Jets will find a way to keep him.

Interesting update on the Toronto Trade of Bernier to the Ducks

From the sounds of things the Conditional Pick only comes into play IF The Ducks win the Stanley Cup AND Bernier starts at least half of the Ducks Playoff games. So essentially the Leafs have moved Bernier out of town for nothing, and it'll allow the Ducks to potentially protect other assets from the Las Vegas Expansion Draft as they really have no reason to protect Bernier at all.
