I doubt he will actually win it since VGK was expected to be a playoff team anyway, but I think there is a solid case for VGK coach Peter DeBoer to win the coach of the year trophy. When DeBoer replaced Gerard Gallant this season, VGK was only #7 in the Western Conference but under DeBoer VGK is now the #1 seed. It really is not easy to go from #7 to #1 in just a couple of months or so and I think DeBoer deserves the award if he was to get it (but I doubt it.) Damn I haven't been keeping up with hockey like I use too. Didn't realize they got rid of Gallant. One of my favorite Wings growing up and the only guy I stood in line to get an autograph of for myself. If he hasn't been picked up hopefully Stevie Y brings him back home to Detroit. Yeah I was shocked when they fired Gallant, but it is hard to argue aganst the success they have since had under DeBoer. Gallant has been linked to the Krakan but they are dragging their feet on this so perhaps the Red Wings could swing in and get him.

Knights might take it all this year. Well they are playing well right now, but it is hard to tell in the NHL Playoffs where many more upsets occur compared to the similarly structured and similarly timed NBA Playoffs. If it did happen that, along with getting a badly needed new principal, would be two of the biggest highlights of 2020 for me. Speaking of 2020 though, it is inevitable that this year just has us all beat because (like I saw someone on Facebook say) when this year is over we are all going to be saying 2021.

Golden Knights 4, Blackhawks 3 in Overtime!I have to give the Blackhawks credit, they would not go away and they came back from behind twice to tie the game. Thankfully though VGK won in Overtime to take a 2-0 series lead.

Golden Knights 2, Blackhawks 1!
VGK is now up 3-0 in this Best of 7 series! Game 4 is tomorrow.
One of the best moves of the year was made by VGK when they traded for Lehner. Tonight Fleury got the start and played great, tomorrow a rested Lehner will likely be the goalie as VGK goes for the sweep.

Chicago was the better team today.
I think Game 5 is on Tuesday.

IF the Knights keep playing like this...they are going to be VERY tough to beat.

IF the Knights keep playing like this...they are going to be VERY tough to beat. VGK dominated last night but there is still alot of this series to go. I would expect Vancouver to make some adjustments and probably put up more resistance in Game 2.

I am sure Vancouver will adjust...but the Knights have seemed the better team adjusting through the round robin and round 1. They really seem to be SOLID.
