Starting to watch Wrestling end of the 80s(with no Wrestling at all here on German Television before),i still dont know that much about the History of Pro Wrestling.Playing LOW helped a lot to learn more about the Old Days.I also have some books about that. But im still searching for good books, that tell me more about Promotions like the AWA,WCCW,USWA,Georgia and others.Do you have some good advice for me?

I'd seek out the JJ Dillon and Ole Anderson books first.
EDIT: Also get the Wrestling at the Chase book. One of the better books I've read that's focused on one particular territory (St. Louis).

National Wrestling Alliance by Tim Hornbacker is an excellent book about the history of American wrestling including a lot about the different territories.

My Life In Wrestling...With A Little Help From My Friends by Gary Hart is a great book. It is out of print now, but maybe you can find it somewhere.

Hooker by Lou Thesz got re-released by Crowbar Press. That's a good book if you want to learn about that era of wrestling, but Thesz does get a little overbearing at points. The Brody book from Crowbar Press is excellent too.

I liked the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame series of books. The first one was The Canadians, the second one was The Tag Teams, the third one was The Heels, and the last one was Heroes and Icons. I also enjoyed Bill Watts book: "Cowboy and the Cross". As a St. Louis fan, I also highly recommend Larry Matysik's Wrestling at the Chase book.
