Joe Harris, a commercial illustrator who envisioned and drew enduring cartoon characters like Underdog and the Trix cereal rabbit in the 1950s and ’60s, died on March 26 at his home in Stamford, Conn. He was 89.

Comedy legend Don Rickles died after suffering kidney failure at his Los Angeles home on Thursday morning, his publicist Paul Shefrin announced. He was 90 years old. The Emmy-Award winning comedian is survived by his wife of 52 years, Barbara, who was reportedly by his side at the time of his death, and his daughter, Mindy Mann. He would have turned 91 on May 8. The one role that Don Rickles played is a favorite of mine is Crapgame in Kelly's Heroes, which has a great cast and Rickles to me is a true star and key to that film...

Such a legend. Decades of entertaining and never bowing to political correctness. He will be missed. RIP to a Las Vegas icon Don Rickles.

Don Rickles was a true ICON of comedy. I have many great memories watching him on the Tonight Show and the Dean Martin Celebrity Roasts growing up. His zingers on everyone were incredible. I agree with Vegas on his never bowing down to political correctness and with Crimson on his role in Kelly's Heroes. A comedian with his quick wit and anti PC style would never get a shot today without being banned, shouted down and protested against and that is a sad reflection on our modern society. I for one will never forget him, RIP.

Don Rickles always made me laugh. I remember watching CPO Sharkey as a kid. I also enjoyed his appearances on reruns of classic TV shows like Gilligan's Island and Andy Griffith. As an adult, I liked the scene in Toy Story when he voiced Mr. Potato Head and said "What are you looking at, you hockey puck?" and the camera shows him talking to an actual hockey puck. I remembered him always calling people hockey pucks in his comedy acts and finding it funny. There will never be another "Mr. Warmth". RIP

Some friends and I were talking about WWII movies last night and I mentioned how Kelly's Heroes was one of my favorites. Rickles was definitely integral to that cast.
