I honestly don't recall watching the tv series back when I was a kid, but the Movie was awesome and it was a favorite of mine and a must watch when it was on in replays. RIP Adam West...

I think I probably saw the movie on TV before I saw reruns of the TV series, but my first exposure to Adam West's Batman was his voiceovers on the Batman and Super-Friends cartoons. To this day every time I read a comic book with Batman in it, I hear the voice of Adam West. RIP Caped Crusader.

Former heavyweight champion Ken Norton, who beat Muhammad Ali and then lost a controversial decision to him in Yankee Stadium, died Wednesday at a local care facility, his son said. He was 70. Norton had been in poor health for the last several years after suffering a series of strokes, a friend of the fighter said. "He's been fighting the battle for two years," said Gene Kilroy, Ali's former business manager. "I'm sure he's in heaven now with all the great fighters. I'd like to hear that conversation." Norton broke Ali's jaw in their first bout, beating him by split decision in 1973 in a non-title fight in San Diego. They fought six months later, and Ali narrowly won a split decision. They met for a third time on Sept. 28, 1976, at Yankee Stadium and Ali narrowly won to keep his heavyweight title. Norton would come back the next year to win a heavyweight title eliminator and was declared champion by the World Boxing Council. But on June 9, 1978, he lost a bruising 15-round fight to Larry Holmes in what many regard as one of boxing's epic heavyweight bouts and would never be champion again. Norton finished with a record of 42-7-1 and 33 knockouts. He would later embark on an acting career, appearing in several movies, and was a commentator at fights.

Adam West's death hit me pretty hard. The 60's show was my first introduction to the Batman story when I was a wee lad. My cousin and I use to spend nights together at my great grandparents place and every morning we would get up in time to watch the show every day we were there before we raided the cupboards for our super sugary cereal. We would then head out side and with the other kids in the neighbourhood we would play out the episode's we had just seen. With everyone taking turns to be Batman or a villain.
As I got older and first into role-playing games I wanted nothing more then to be the new Robin. My friends and I started playing the DC: Heroes Role-Playing game about a month or two before Tim Drake was introduced into the system as Robin (I believe they had him already pegged to be Robin at the time, but he was still just Tim Drake wannabe hero in the comics)
Needless to say Rest In Peace Adam West, may the world always remember "The Bright Knight"

That's too bad. I'll also remember him primarily as Vir, one of the best of B5.

Former UFC heavyweight Tim Hague died at the age of 34 on Sunday, following a knockout loss in a boxing match Friday. Hague suffered a knockout loss to Adam Braidwood on Friday. Johnson cites Hague injury in retirement call Anthony Johnson referenced a major injury to former UFC heavyweight Tim Hague in explaining his decision to retire earlier this year. Fighting out of Alberta, Canada, Hague made five appearances in the UFC between 2009 and 2011. He enjoyed a very successful debut in 2009, submitting Pat Barry via guillotine choke at UFC 98. He went on to lose his next four bouts inside the Octagon, however. Hague (21-13) suffered eight career knockouts in MMA, including four within the past 22 months. Hague's professional boxing record was 1-3, with two knockout losses.
