It sounds like the WWE thankfully will NOT be buying ROH after all:
Update on Recent Reports of WWE Possibly Trying to Buy Ring of Honor
Our friend Chuck Carroll of CBS Sports sent word that his Ring of Honor sources have told him that WWE will not be purchasing ROH. One high-ranking source told Carroll that "there is no story here." Check out Carroll's article on CBS at this link.
ROH COO Joe Koff previously told Carroll that the idea of WWE purchasing the ROH tape library is unlikely but they did have a good working relationship. Koff said, “I’m always open to any conversation. We do business with them if they want to do a DVD or VOD if they need footage from early matches they do come to us. We are open to work with them on that basis because it doesn’t hurt us. It actually helps us.”
Earlier this month Carroll asked Koff if ROH TV would begin streaming on the WWE Network. “No, no, no, no,” Koff told me. “It’s very flattering and humbling to us. It validates what we’ve done. A lot of their current performers and stars are ROH guys and we have their history. So maybe the content of the backstories of Kevin Steen before he became Kevin Owens or AJ Styles’ run in Ring of Honor, Tyler Black (aka Seth Rollins), Claudio (Castagnoli aka Cesaro) … all of the guys who have wrestled for us. We have their backstory and where it began… That’s our content.”
Carroll has more details on the relationship with WWE and ROH at the CBS Sports website.

I've been pretty happy with what ROH has been doing for awhile now. I know they have their critics, but I think they do pretty well considering how WWE has stripped them of their roster over the years. ROH still finds ways to get me interested.
Hope this means we can crank out a sweet set or two this year.

I hope that ROH is considering a streaming platform if they aren't going to be on Floslam or WWE network.

ROH's business model in the early days revolved around the sales of its tapes and dvds. They could be reluctant to break from that, which would make a certain amount of sense except they've let the majority of their catalog go out of print.
One good thing that might happen if the WWE did buy ROH was maybe it would give Shane McMahon something to do besides taking up a spot on PPVs.

I hope that ROH is considering a streaming platform if they aren't going to be on Floslam or WWE network. I'm still amazed at how little they've done to monetize that library. That 05-07 time period is as good as any promotion has been in this country since peak WCW...maybe even further back than that and they're doing nothing to make money off of it. ROH's business model in the early days revolved around the sales of its tapes and dvds. They could be reluctant to break from that, which would make a certain amount of sense except they've let the majority of their catalog go out of print. I think it's got more to do with laziness on the part of people running the company than anything else. With that said, I'm surprised they haven't reprinted the OOP Danielson sets or even re-mastred the Joe vs. Punk set that had video problems. Those would still sell.

I hope that ROH is considering a streaming platform if they aren't going to be on Floslam or WWE network. Absolutely ridiculous that they have yet to capitalize on this medium.
