Anyone else hear about, or are curious about Seth ("Family Guy") McFarlane's new sci-fi comedy series that's going to be on Fox this fall? It's a parody of Star Trek called, "The Orville". Here's the Official trailer from the Fox Network:

I never heard about this, but it looks funny from that trailer. I know it's not Galaxy Quest, but it does remind me of that movie and it was a funny movie...

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to watch the first episodes to see how they are, hopefully it will be a must-see series! And yes, CrimsonCross, I was thinking of GalaxyQuest also. I enjoyed that movie a lot more than I thought I would, Tim Allen was surprisingly well-cast in that, Sigourney was great, and the movie didn't "look down" on Trek fans, so I thought it was really a fun movie! Missi Pyle was pretty cute in that also! If they keep the material fresh, this could be another hit for Seth!

The only concern I have is it being a hour long, but I'll give it a chance and I love that Norm MacDonald is voicing the gelatinous creature Yaphit...

I'm sure Seth will give it a good shot at least! Can't be worse than most of the sitcoms on nowadays!

My biggest concern is that it's a sci-fi series on Fox. Fox doesn't have the greatest track record with giving that genre much of a chance to gain a following, or they cancel them just as they start getting popular.
