I wonder how it plays?
I'm guessing it's more about getting storylines running than about ring action or wrestler personalities.
Also, since Vince would want a HUGE slice of the pie in sales, I guess the wrestler's names are generic (or left blank, like in some of the Superstar Pro Wrestling Games)?
I'd be interested in the game only if it had real life wrestlers WITH the possibility of making bootleg cards yourself.
Maybe there's a FORUM for this game? We could get more info if there were...

There's quite a few expansions for this game, that introduce new wrestlers, new match types and new story lines etc. I haven't purchased it, but it does look reasonably interesting.

The storyline is a brand-new promotion called the MWC. It would be like playing CotG but without the science fiction/fantasy elements i.e. it's real world. You are given storylines and characters to use as you try and build this promotion. There's more RPG element to it than in CotG, which I like.
The characters are pretty well fleshed-out, and are archetypes which are easily identifiable. There is art for everyone, and nobody looks exactly like the character they are based off of. For example, the lead face is an Austin-esque anti-hero who cusses and drinks beer, but he had long hair and such. They didn't take the easy way out and draw Austin and change the name, which is a plus. There's a Muta-like heel, an Arabic heel Road Warriors type tag team. One of my favorites is an anti-Undertaker face whose replaces UT's dark/death imagery with crosses and such. He's basically a devout monk. You start with 2 singles and 2 tag teams, and there is a CAC mechanic. You get more wrestlers, match types, and the story continuation in expansions. The forum isn't active, but there are posts with info that are still quite informative and helpful.
The match mechanic is more complicated than the FG system, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Matches have more of a real-match flow to them. You have to do more to get to that depth of information, though, but it seems worth it. I really like the playing card mechanic. You use the numbers and suits to determine outcomes, and the various results charts cover a lot of possible outcomes. Wrestlers have 20 offensive moves..10 opening, 10 secondary, 3-4 big set up moves, and their finisher. Moves seem to progress from the first 10 to the second 10 to the set-ups/finishers at a good pace. My biggest beef with FG-style matches are those snoozefests where the dice send back to lvl 2 and lvl 1 over and over.
That's pretty much it. I will answer specific questions if I can. As of now, I only have the base game PDF.

Very tempted by this- not really sure why and don't think I'll ever have time to play it, but I enjoy reading rule books. Thanks for all the info

I am too, might be reasonable enough to get, sounds easy to play. If only a deck of cards & dice, who wouldn't have those things!? I might try it next week or something & check it out!?

So I picked up the MDG book & game along with a couple other free demo wrestling games to play around with. Hoping to get a read through this week & try it out. Anyone play it yet or lately?
