Earlier today the future Las Vegas Raiders sent this letter to the Vegas Golden Knights before today's expansion draft: “The Raiders wish the Golden Knights the very best during the NHL expansion draft. It’s an exciting time as we watch the creation of the first ever professional hockey franchise for Southern Nevada. In the years ahead, we look forward to celebrating victories, working alongside one another in the community and helping to bring the passion and excitement of professional sports to Southern Nevada… Just Win!!”

As a big Raiders fan this is cool to see. Congrats on getting two pro sports teams in Sin City, Vegas. Here's hoping that the Golden Knights have a fine first season and many more to come. It will be a while before the Raiders get to Las Vegas, and they don't even have a home stadium yet for the 2019 season!, but I look forward to when they finally do get settled there. I know you are a Seattle Seahawks fan but you can always pick the Raiders for your home team to root for. I do that myself in NJ as the Raiders are my number one but I root for the New York Jets as my home team.

I am excited and looking forward to going to some games in that new stadium!

I wish the move wasn't so far off and I am a little worried about the 2019 season with the Raiders not having a home stadium to play in. It looks like Derek Carr will make it to Vegas after signing that huge five year deal. The next two seasons in Oakland are going to be strange for sure.

In addition to the occasional Seahawks-Raiders regular season game, I am hoping the Seahawks will play here at least once every two years in the preseason as for the past ten years the Raiders and Seahawks have always played each other in the final preseason game (it was a conditional request made by the Seahawks to regularly play their former AFC West opponents in the preseason when they agreed to move back to the NFC.) My guess is the Raiders will work out a deal for a 1 year lease in Oakland for the 2019 season. If not perhaps they will play in San Antonio or San Diego for a year or even here in Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium (similar to the Chargers temporarily playing in that smaller stadium in LA for awhile.)

LOL, the way the Raiders dominate the headlines in the LVRJ and (along with Golden Knights gear) the windows at the local sports stores (I saw it again tonight when I bought some new shoes at Downtown Summerlin) you would think they are already here.

Carr will need all of the protection he can get. He is a great QB but so far he has been injury prone. I hope he can get past that and make it to Vegas for a great first season in 2020. Too funny about the hype and we are still three years out from them arriving in Vegas. At least the Golden Knights will be coming soon and that is a good thing. I will definitely be getting Las Vegas Raiders gear when it is made available.
