This topic has been touched upon in the why the new board thread, as wildfire indicated.
In short, we're going to evaluate karma and how's it going so far. There is nothing in place that limits or structures it. People can give good or bad karma to whomever they like, with what appears to be a small delay between exalts/smites.
In light of that, if it gets abused (and people getting smites before even posting can be argued to be an 'abuse'), it'll be gone soon. I think the exalts have been working well.
Going to close this thread on that note.
