Wrestlemania opens with Vince McMahon standing next to Jesse “The Body” Ventura. They both have microphones and are smiling at the camera. They are both dressed to kill - looking great in their tuxedos. The camera zooms in on them and then Vince McMahon begins to speak.

Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to Wrestlemania! We have a huge show for you tonight. We are going to crown the first WWF World Heavyweight champion.

Jesse Ventura: That’s right Vince, we’ve got sixteen guys back there who all want to win the WWF World championship, but only one man can walk out with the belt. My pick is “Macho Man” Randy Savage.

Vince McMahon: It’s a sixteen man single elimination tournament. We’ve got a great night of action lined up for our very first Wrestlemania! Remember one thing wrestling fans, anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation. Now, let’s go backstage with Mean Gene Okerlund who is with one of the sixteen participants - “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan!

The scene then changes to Mean Gene standing next to Hulk Hogan. Hulk Hogan is smiling at the camera. The camera zooms in on his face and then Mean Gene begins to speak to everyone who is watching around the world.

Mean Gene Okerlund: I’m here with the odds on favorite to win this whole thing - Hulk Hogan, you face Hillbilly Jim in the first round. What are your thoughts on facing your friend?

Hulk Hogan: Well you know something Mean Gene, The Hulkster will stop at nothing to become the first WWF World Heavyweight champion. Now as far as facing my friend Hillbilly Jim in the first round - he knows it’s just business. He knows that I’ll still be his friend when it is all said and done. It’s time to hit the ring Mean Gene and get that WWF World Championship belt! See you in the ring Hillbilly Jim!

Hillbilly Jim: Hulk Hogan, you hit me with the big boot to get the win. You deserve nothing but the best. I still respect you and I am still your friend. Good luck in the rest of the tournament tonight. I hope you win. Now if you don’t mind, it’s time to hit the showers.

The scene then changes to Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura sitting at the commentary table. The camera zooms in on them and Jesse Ventura begins to speak.

Jesse Ventura: Well, are you ready for our next match McMahon?

Result - Junk Yard Dog defeated Mike Rotundo with an Atomic Drop!

Junk Yard Dog walks to the backstage area and is stopped by a camera. He then begins to speak to everyone watching.

Result – British Bulldog defeated Bret Hart with a Running Power Slam!

Result – Tito Santana defeated Paul Ordorff with a Flying Forearm!

Match Aftermath – After the match was over, Paul Ordorff piledrove Tito Santana on a steel chair three times. Tito Santana had to be stretchered out of the arena. Tito Santana's condition was not known and it was not known if he would be able to continue on in the tournament.

Result- Jim Neidhart defeated Dick Mordoch with a roll up to advance to the next round!

After the match, Adrian Adonis shoved Miss Elizabeth to the ground. Randy Savage chased after him but did not catch up to him. Randy Savage was really upset about Adrian Adonis putting his hands on Miss Elizabeth like that.


INTERMISSION

Before the start of the second round, Howard Finkle announced that Tito Santana was hurt and could not continue on in the tournament. He said that Bulldog recieved a bye into the next round!

Hulk Hogan -versus- Junk Yard Dog

Result – Hulk Hogan defeated Junk Yard Dog with an Atomic Leg Drop to advance to the next round.

Aftermath – After the match, Junk Yard Dog went to hit Hogan with his chain but Hogan stopped him and beat Dog with it, leaving him bloody.

Jim Niedhart -versus- Ricky the Dragon Steamboat

Result – Ricky Steamboat defeated Jim Neidhart with a vertical suplex to advance to the next round!

Aftermath – After the match Jim Niedhart went to drop a double axe handle from the apron to Ricky Steamboat but Steamboat caught him and gave him an atomic drop on the guard rail and a clothesline to follow it up. Once they both went to the backstage area, Jim Niedhart challenged him to a rematch next month!

Result – Randy Savage defeated Ken Patera with a belly to back suplex to advance!

[The show opens with Vince McMahon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura standing at ringside. They are dressed in their regular suits. Behind them are some fans waving to the camera. Vince McMahon waits for the camera to zoom in and he then begins to speak.]

Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to WWF Superstars! I’m your host Vince McMahon along with my partner in crime Jesse “The Body” Ventura! Last night was the very first Wrestlemania and we had a capacity crowd. We are going to show highlights of what went down, but I can tell you this right now - our very first WWF Champion is The Immortal Hulk Hogan!

Jesse “The Body” Ventura: That’s right McMahon. Hulk Hogan went through four competitors to win the championship. Tonight we have a special show for you. We’ve got qualifying matches for the WWF Intercontinental championship battle royal that will take place at Madison Square Garden coming up at the end of April.

Vince McMahon: That’s right. If you want to be in the WWF Intercontinental championship battle royal you must qualify. Tonight we will have the first five matches to see who gets into the battle royal. It’s going to be a hell of a night and it all starts right now!

WWF Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal Qualifying Match

Big John Studd -versus- Junk Yard Dog

It was a great back and forth match but Big John Studd ended up putting Junk Yard Dog in a backbreaker submission for the win. Big John Studd is the first entrant in the WWF Intercontinental championship battle royal.

Big John Studd: I’m in the battle royal. The WWF Intercontinental championship will soon be around my waist. There is no one who is going to stop me. That belt is mine and nobody will take it from me. Junk Yard Dog, you were a tough opponent for me but you just weren’t strong enough to beat me. Now if you don’t mind, I am going to go and watch the rest of these qualifying matches and scout my competition!

WWF Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal Qualifying Match

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat -versus- Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart

Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat had a tough time putting Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart away but after three Flying cross bodies he managed to get the win and the chance at the WWF Intercontinental championship.

The camera then went backstage to Hulk Hogan who was with Mean Gene Okerlund.

Mean Gene Okerlund: Earlier tonight, Junk Yard Dog challenged you to a match at Madison Square Garden. He says he wants to WWF championship, will you give him the match?

Hulk Hogan: Well you know something…

Suddenly Hulk Hogan is attacked by Junk Yard Dog. Junk Yard Dog throws him into the wall and then smashes the WWF World Heavyweight championship in his face. Soon backstage personnel pull The Junk Yard Dog off of Hulk Hogan. He raises the championship over his head and then walks off camera as personnel check on The Hulkster.

WWF Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal Qualifying Match

Andre The Giant -versus- Barry Windham

Barry Windham surprised Andre The Giant with a bulldog to qualify for the battle royal. After the match, Andre the Giant went after Barry Windham with a steel chair but Windham took off through the crowd. The show then went back to Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura.

Vince McMahon: Last night we saw Hulk Hogan - who we will get an update on him by next week, go through four men to win the championship. We also saw Paul Ordorff lose to Tito Santana. Mr. Wonderful was so upset over the loss that he piledrove Tito onto a steel chair three times. Tito Santana won his match but could not continue on in his quest to become WWF champion.

Jesse Ventura: We’ve been told that at Madison Square Garden - in three weeks we will see Tito Santana get his revenge on Mr. Wonderful in a no disqualification match. Now let’s go to the ring for our next qualifying match up!

WWF Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal Qualifying Match

Bret “The Hitman” Hart -versus- Ken Patera

Bret “The Hitman” Hart defeated Ken Patera with a Sharpshooter to qualify for the WWF Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal.

Bret “The Hitman” Hart: Well, you saw it, The Hitman is in the battle royal and I will walk out of Madison Square Garden the WWF Intercontinental champion and there isn’t a damn thing anyone can do about it!

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper -versus- Uncle Elmer

Uncle Elmer upset “Rowdy” Roddy Piper to qualify for the WWF Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal when he hit a Hillbilly Splash for the win. The shot then goes onto Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura.

Vince McMahon: What an upset by Uncle Elmer!

Jesse Ventura: He’s probably the odds on favorite to walk out with the championship! How is anyone going to throw him out of the ring! He’s so big!

Vince McMahon: Anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation! See you next week where will have five more Qualifying matches and we will get an update on the condition of Hulk Hogan! Have a good night!

Tonight on the program we have five more qualifying matches for the WWF Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal that will take place at the big Madison Square Garden show that can only be seen on the Madison Square Garden network.

Jesse “The Body” Ventura: That’s right Vince, five men have qualified for the battle royal and tonight we will see who the other five others will be. It’s going to be a great show and we are going to hear from Hulk Hogan regarding his condition after last week’s attack by The Junk Yard Dog and whether he accepts his challenge!

Vince McMahon: That’s right. But first, let’s go to the ring for our first qualifying match of the evening!

Paul Orndorff -versus- Terry Funk

In a short but fun match, Paul Orndorff defeated Terry Funk to qualify for the championship battle royal after hitting Terry Funk with a piledriver. After the match as Paul was making his way backstage, Tito Santana, in street clothes hopped the railing and nailed Paul with a steel chair. WWF Personnel ran out and pulled Tito Santana off of him.

Vince McMahon: Tito Santana looking for revenge! He wants blood!

Jesse Ventura: That’s right. When they meet at Madison Square Garden it’s going to be a wild brawl!

King Tonga -versus- Tito Santana

Tito Santana made short work of King Tonga - winning with a flying forearm. He then grabbed the microphone and began to speak.

Tito Santana: Paul Orndorff, we’ve both qualified for the battle royal. In just a few short weeks, at Madison Square Garden, I am going to have a great night. I am going to win the WWF Intercontinental championship and I am going to get my revenge on you!

Hillbilly Jim -versus- Dick Murdoch

Hillbilly Jim defeated Dick Murdoch by disqualification when Murdoch nailed Hillbilly Jim with a steel chair. Hillbilly Jim does not qualify for the battle royal says President Jack Tunney, who came out to ringside after the match. He said that Hillbilly Jim will take on Macho Man Randy Savage next week on WWF Superstars to determine the final entrant in the battle royal.

Hulk Hogan: Well let me tell you something Mean Gene, The Junk Yard Dog, you want a championship match at Madison Square Garden? Well I accept your challenge. You’re going to be put asleep!

[Hulk Hogan walks off camera as Mean Gene throws it back to Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura.]

Vince McMahon: That’s not all. Tonight we have a huge main event when Hulk Hogan - The WWF World Heavyweight champion teams up with Tito Santana to take on The Junk Yard Dog and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff.

“Macho Man” Randy Savage -versus- Hillbilly Jim

Hillbilly Jim defeated “Macho Man” Randy Savage with a bear hug to qualify for the WWF Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal. He was the final entrant into the battle royal.

Vince McMahon: Hillbilly Jim with a huge upset over Randy Savage. Hillbilly Jim has a good chance of becoming the first WWF Intercontinental champion!

Jesse Ventura: Wow, what an upset McMahon! The next big Madison Square Garden is shaping up to be a hell of a show!

Vince McMahon: That’s right. Now, before we go to our main event of the evening - that big tag team match, we are going to be joined by Bobby “The Brain” Heenan!

[The camera goes onto Bobby “The Brain” Heenan who is standing in the ring. He has a microphone in hand and begins to speak.]

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: Everyone has been asking me what my big surprise is for the World Wrestling Federation. I am ready to tell the world. I have put together the best group of wrestlers here. I give you “The Heenan Family!”

[The camera goes onto the entrance way. Andre the Giant, King Tonga and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff come to the ring.]

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: Those three men right there are in the Heenan Family, but there is one more surprise for you all. The next WWF World Heavyweight champion - The Junk Yard Dog!

[The camera goes back on the entrance way where we see The Junk Yard Dog coming to the ring. He gets into the ring and grabs a microphone.]

Junk Yard Dog: That’s right wrestling geeks, I am in The Heenan Family and Bobby Heenan will be in my corner at Madison Square Garden where I will become the World Wrestling Federation World Heavyweight champion!

[The show then cuts to a commercial.]

Main Event

Hulk Hogan and Tito Santana -versus- The Junk Yard Dog and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff

[The match doesn’t get started as all four brawl around the ring and to the backstage area. The show goes off to a commercial break with The Junk Yard Dog and Paul Orndorff standing over Hogan and Santana with steel chairs as WWF Personnel hold the bad guys off.]

[Back from the commercial break we see Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura standing at ringside.]

Vince McMahon: Is it sure heating up here in The World Wrestling Federation. The big Madison Square Garden show is looking hot. It’s going to be a hell of a night. Who is going to walk out WWF Intercontinental champion after that big battle royal?

Jesse Ventura: That’s right McMahon. Also, we can’t forget about our huge main event between Hulk Hogan and The Junk Yard Dog where the WWF World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line.

Vince McMahon: Also, we have Tito Santana wanting to get revenge on Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff. Who will walk out of that match with the win? Will someone be sent to the hospital? We don’t know but it will sure be a hell of a match.

Jesse Ventura: There will also be a four tag team tournament. We will see The Hart Foundation take on Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham. The winner of that match will face the winners of The British Bulldogs and King Tonga and Andre the Giant match to determine The first WWF World Tag Team champions!

Vince McMahon: Let’s go to The Hart Foundation who have some words about the Tag Team championship tournament!

[The show cuts to Bret “The Hitman” Hart and Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart - known as The Hart Foundation. They are standing in front of a WWF backdrop with the WWF logo behind them.]

Bret “The Hitman” Hart: This coming Saturday at Madison Square Garden, I have the chance of walking out with the WWF Intercontinental championship and be one half of the WWF Tag Team champions!

Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart: You’re right baby, The Hart Foundation are going to dominate. Doesn’t matter who we face, we are going to become the WWF Tag Team champions and there is nothing anyone can do about it! HAHAHA!

Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to WWF at Madison Square Garden! I’m your host, Vince McMahon alongside my fellow commentator Jesse “The Body” Ventura. We’ve got seven big matches for you tonight and all three WWF championships will be on the line.

Jesse Ventura: That’s right, there is that mini tournament between The Hart Foundation, The British Bulldogs, Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham and Andre the Giant and King Tonga! One team will walk out tonight with the WWF Tag Team championship!

Vince McMahon: That’s not all. We will see the WWF Intercontinental championship decided as ten men, over the past few weeks on WWF Superstars have qualified to compete for the Intercontinental championship in a battle royal. It’s every man for themselves.

Jesse Ventura: Yeah and Hulk Hogan defends his WWF World Heavyweight championship against his heated rival The Junk Yard Dog. In his corner tonight, his manager - the leader of the Heenan Family, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan!

Vince McMahon: Then we have a grudge match. Tito Santana will be trying to get revenge as he takes on Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff! Paul Orndorff injured Tito Santana from the WWF World Heavyweight championship tournament. Tito Santana never lost at Wrestlemania and he is looking for revenge!

[The show opens with still images of what went down the night before at the WWF Madison Square Garden event. The show then goes to the crowd who are cheering. The fans at ringside look excited for the show as it goes to the show hosts - Vince McMahon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura. They are both wearing their regular suits. Vince McMahon smiles at the camera and then begins to speak.]

Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to WWF Superstars! I’m your host Vince McMahon and I am along side my partner in crime - Jesse “The Body” Ventura. We are one day removed from the big Madison Square Garden event and what a show it was.

Jesse Ventura: That’s right Vince. We saw the crowning of two champions. The Hart Foundation captured the WWF Tag Team championships and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat became the first WWF Intercontinental champion winning that big battle royal.

Vince McMahon: That’s not all that went down. We saw Tito Santana get his revenge on Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff and then we saw Hulk Hogan retain his WWF World Heavyweight championship when he defeated his rival The Junk Yard Dog!

Jesse Ventura: It was a hell of a show with a lot of surprises. Tonight, we picked up where we left off. Tonight we are going to have some fun, tonight we will see a gauntlet match to determine the number one contender for the WWF championship! Who will face Hulk Hogan at our big May Madison Square Garden card?

Vince McMahon: That should be great to see. Also tonight we will see Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. He says he has something to say that will change the wrestling world. What could it be? We will soon find out.

Jesse Ventura: Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat has said that he will defend his WWF Intercontinental championship at the next big show - but who will he face? Tonight we will see just who will face Steamboat when the two top contenders - Bret “The Hitman” Hart and The British Bulldog Davey Boy Smith battle it out - tonight.

Vince McMahon: It’s going to be a great show tonight. We are going to go to a commercial break, but when we come back we will see who steps into the ring with Ricky Steamboat at Madison Square Garden!

Result - The British Bulldog defeated Bret “The Hitman” Hart with a headbutt to become number one contender to the WWF Intercontinental Championship!

Vince McMahon: The British Bulldog will face Ricky Steamboat for the Intercontinental championship at Madison Square Garden!

Jesse Ventura: I can’t wait to see that match McMahon!

Vince McMahon: We are going to go for a commercial break and when we come back we are going to hear from Bobby “The Brain” Heenan!

[Commercial Break]

Back to the show, Bobby Heenan is standing in the middle of the ring with a microphone. He is not alone as the whole Heenan family is there - Andre the Giant, King Tonga, Junk Yard Dog and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff. The camera goes onto Heenan and he begins to speak.

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: Last night at Madison Square Garden was not a good night for the Heenan Family, but tonight will be. I have a proposition for a tag team - and not just any tag team. The Hart Foundation - Bret and Jim come out here - I’d like to speak to you.

[The camera goes onto the entrance way. The Hart Foundation - the WWF Tag Team Champions - come out. They get into the ring with their championship belts around their waists.]

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: Bret, Jim - I called you out here because I want you guys, the tag team champions in The Heenan Family.

Bret “The Hitman” Hart: Absolutely… not! We don’t want to be in the Heenan Family, you guys are a bunch of scum.

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: That’s okay because I have a back up plan.

[Suddenly The British Bulldogs hit the ring and attack The Hart Foundation. Then the rest of the Heenan Family get in on the beat down. Then, to the delight of the fans, Hulk Hogan and Ricky Steamboat run down to make the save. They clean house and check on the downed Hart Foundation as the show goes to a commercial break.]

[Back from the commercial break, Vince McMahon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura are standing at ringside.]

Vince McMahon: Up next is the gauntlet to determine the number one contender to the WWF World Heavyweight Championship!

Jesse Ventura: I can’t wait to see who wins!

[The show opens with Vince McMahon and Jesse “The Body” Ventura at ringside. The fans are going crazy as the show comes on the air. After the camera finishes panning on the audience, it goes back to Vince and Jesse. Vince McMahon and Jesse Ventura smile and then Vince begins to speak.]

Vince McMahon: Welcome everyone to WWF Superstars. Tonight we have a loaded show. Tonight we will see some big matches. We are going to see The British Bulldogs take on Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham to determine who will battle for the WWF Tag Team Championship at the Madison Square Garden show coming up at the end of the month.

Jesse “The Body” Ventura: That’s not all, we also have a special interview with WWF Champion “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan! It’s going to be a wild night, so let’s go to the ring for our big tag team match!

The British Bulldogs -versus- Mike Rotundo and Barry Windham

Result - Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo defeated The British Bulldogs to earn a WWF Tag Team Championship shot at the May 1986 Madison Square Garden Show.

Vince McMahon: Barry Windham and Mike Rotundo get the win tonight! They go on to face The Hart Foundation!

Jesse “The Body” Ventura: What are great effort by both teams. The Hart Foundation better prepare!

[Commercial Break]

Back from the commercial break, Hulk Hogan’s music hits. He comes down to the ring with the WWF Championship around his waist. He grabs the microphone from “The Fink” Howard Finkle and waits for his theme song to stop playing. He then looks out at the audience and the fans start going crazy. He then begins to speak.

Hulk Hogan: Andre the Giant! In just a few weeks time we are going to go one on one for my WWF championship. You better be ready because I am going to bring it to you!

[The camera goes on the entrance way. Bobby “The Brain” Heenan comes out. He has a microphone in hand as he walks down the aisle towards the ring.]

Bobby “The Brain” Heenan: Hogan, you better watch yourself because you never know when someone might just knock you out!

[Suddenly, The Junk Yard Dog and Paul Orndorff jump the railing and attack Hulk Hogan. They beat the crap out of him. Then Andre the Giant makes his way down to the ring and steps over the top rope to get in. He gives Hogan a few splashes, hurting Hogan’s ribs. Tito Santana and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat come down and clean house!]

Vince McMahon: It’s chaos!

Jesse “The Body” Ventura: Hogan has been taken out once again.

Vince McMahon: We are going to go to a short commercial break and when we come back we will hopefully have an update on Hulk Hogan’s condition!

[Commercial Break]

Back from the commercial break, the ring has been cleared. The camera then goes to the backstage area where President Jack Tunney is standing in front of a back drop with the WWF logo.]

Jack Tunney: We have received word that Hulk Hogan was severely injured at the hands of The Heenan Family. There has been some changes to the Madison Square Garden card that will be taking place in three weeks time. Instead of Hulk Hogan defending the WWF World Championship against Andre the Giant - it will be - in the main event, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat and Tito Santana taking on the team of Andre the Giant and Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff. We have word - that Hulk Hogan will not be able to wrestle until the Summer Slam pay per view that takes place in three months time. Hulk Hogan will however defend the championship against Andre the Giant in the main event of Summer Slam!

[The show then goes to a commercial break.]

Vince McMahon: Hulk Hogan out of action for three months!

Jesse “The Body” Ventura: He’s certainly going to want revenge when Summer Slam comes around.

Vince McMahon: I have a feeling Andre the Giant may walk out of Summer Slam with the WWF World Championship!

Jesse “The Body” Ventura: We will find out! We are going to go to a special bonus main event match for tonight - “Rowdy” Roddy Piper taking on King Tonga!

“Rowdy” Roddy Piper -versus- King Tonga

Result - “Rowdy” Roddy Piper defeated King Tonga with a Sleeper Hold. As Piper is celebrating his victory, King Tonga comes up from behind him and puts on the Tonga Death Grip. Referees come into the ring and try to get him to release the hold but they have no luck. The show ends with Tonga with one foot on Piper’s chest with his hands raised in victory.
