Sami Callihan's spit is on his upcoming updated CZW card sounds like a great show, but as somebody who drives 5 hours each way to PWG regularly I really have to doubt it is as good as most PWG shows- not trying to troll, just being seriously realistic as last month I attended all 3 nights of BOLA 2017 and then drove right after work ended to make it to Reseda again for Friday's show - but tigersamuai you should fly out here to go to PWG with me and then you can make that determination for yourself, if you make it then the first round is on me! From everything I have heard AAW is now up there with PWG as an Indie wrestling destination promotion. Wrestlecircus working on that too. I'm interested in someday going to all 3.

I bought all three nights of BOLA on Blu Ray and even as much as I liked Night 2 (it's probably my favorite US show this year, even over Takeover: Chicago), none of those shows were nearly as good as most of Big Japan's shows this year, much less New Japan or All Japan's major offerings. PWG is probably a blast to watch in the room, but the hype doesn't always translate on tape. Last year's ***** six man didn't come across that way on tape and Lee/Dijak didn't either. It's cool that there's a place in the States that has really hot crowds that are mostly appreciative (I can't forget how they booed Gulak at BOLA 2014 just because he was from CZW) but a lot of the highly praised stuff from PWG doesn't really hold up on tape.
But hey what do I know? I'm just a grumpy middle 20s guy who watches a lot of shoot style shit and thinks Hideki Suzuki is the clear pick for Wrestler of the Year.

It was my favorite first round match of this year's BOLA. But I heard Janela did the chair spot with (I think Jimmy Havoc) the weekend before in NYC?

My only gripe was the burning hammer onto the chair being a near fall instead of the finish but that was a pretty neat match. Probably my favorite of the first round as well.

My only gripe was the burning hammer onto the chair being a near fall instead of the finish. This is my gripe with most independent wrestling. I think the guys get too concerned with topping each other and whole cards become a nuclear arms race of big moves.

sad but true. I'd rather have a more basic match that builds to the big finish instead of hitting all these super moves for near falls.

Vegas as Tournament Master said, AAW has a rep for being up there with PWG and you should totally make the trek! Obviously, all I can go with is comparing live vs. bluray/dvd... Equally, obvious: I need to change that and will warmly take you up on your offer when I get out there. The offer is the same should you make it to AAW in 2018!

Would LOVE to schedule a Chicago GCon in the future and make it during an AAW weekend!
