Temporary Upgrade / Downgrade Chart
Use these charts if you wish to upgrade or downgrade a wrestler during a fight card. You may want different percentages than what is recommended, so I have included a bunch of different rolls with their percentages so you can customize your charts accordingly. You would roll for each wrestler on a fight card to see if they will be getting an upgrade / downgrade on that fight card.
The first chart is the percentages of rolling the numbers on the left, using TWO dice. I suggest you use the “2.78%” roll, but you may want to have a HIGHER percentage:
If you want a LOWER percentage, here's the rolls for having a ONE PERCENT chance (in two rolls of TWO dice):
Okay, once you have a wrestler to upgrade, determine whether it is an upgrade or a downgrade (this is 50% chance either way):
And finally, the Upgrade and Downgrade charts:
UPGRADE:
DOWNGRADE:
Other things to consider:
What if you already have the best rating on a rolled upgrade, or worst on a downgrade? Do you reroll or do you not do anything for the upgrade/downgrade? May I suggest you do indeed REROLL!
What about having MORE THAN ONE upgrade/downgrade for a wrestler? That's up to you, Promoter! I'd suggest one is more than enough!
As for what would explain the proposed upgrade/downgrade? I think Johnny V explained it best when Greg Valentine & Brutus Beefcake lost the WWF Tag Belts back in the '80s: “Greg had the flu, and Brutus had jet lag,” or something like that. You can say the wrestler didn't get enough sleep the night before, ate some bad sushi, had a slight sprain, or was experiencing a bad headache! You can use whatever reason you want! For a positive upgrade, you can say the wrestler had trained extra-hard that week, or was having a lucky day or lucky week, or had just received great news that made them feel great and got their adrenaline flowing!
What about PERMANENT changes to cards at the end of a federation's “year”? Yes, you can use these charts if you want. Especially if you want to have more control over who should / does get an official change in playing cards in a federation's year (not the one you are about to go into, but a card that will be getting changes EVENTUALLY further down the line). For example: Omega gets quite a HARD downgrade in 2087. You may want to ease him into it a bit if you are using an earlier than 2087 card.
