I loved playing Mutant League Football back in the day. I used to dominate my boys! Glad to see it's coming back. Never played the hockey game though I wish I had.

This is somewhat related, but for years now, every other Friday night is 'game night' at an old friend's house where a bunch of us get together and do our best to 'let the nerd out'.
I picked up the rereleased BLOOD BOWL by Games Workshop and we've been playing it a ton. We even organized a small league that's been somewhat on and off for the last couple months or so. Its about as close as you can get to a board game version of the Mutant League football games.

I know, but there's nothing like having the game out on the table in front of you. Its probably, if not the best, one of the best pure board games Games Workshop has ever produced.

Back in the day my friends and I played both Mutant League Football and Blood Bowl, now with Blood Bowl we ran a league and my team was the Albion Wanderers, plus my friend Ron use to paint all the figures and he was pretty good at it. It was fun times having both the Blood Bowl board game and the Mutant League Football video game...

I'm kind of disappointed that I never tried Blood Bowl. Its actually as cool as you imagine it would be. Its a really fun game. I have Space Hulk and a few of their other classic board games and for me, Blood Bowl is by far the best.

They just released a new version of Blood Bowl not too long ago.
I have some of it but the vast majority of my Blood Bowl stuff is the classic stuff from the '90s.

It's basically the same as the classic game. If you're familiar at all with Games Workshop's products, you know that everything they put out is of high quality. The game plays exactly the same as I remember from the earlier editions and the sourcebooks and expansions are all very well done. If you have the spare funds and a group of friends who are interested, its well worth the investment for all the hours of fun you'll have playing the game.
