Seattle poises an interesting question for the NHL
What division do they end up in? Right now the Central Division only has 7 teams, but the Seattle franchise is a great fit for the Pacific Division, as they would be a great division rival for Vancouver and Colorado.
Personally I would realign the divisions out west as such:
Pacific:
1 - Anaheim 2 - Arizona 3 - Colorado 4 - Los Angeles 5 - San Jose 6 - Seattle 7 - Vancouver 8 - Vegas
Central:
1 - Calgary 2 - Chicago 3 - Dallas 4 - Edmonton 5 - Minnesota 6 - Nashville 7 - St. Louis 8 - Winnipeg
That would mean moving Calgary and Edmonton to the Central Division and trading them off with Colorado with Seattle becoming the 8th team in the Pacific

And there are precedents for it too. In the NCAA, both Colorado and Washington are in the PAC 12 and in the NBA the Denver Nuggets are in the Northwest Division which was also the divisional home of the former Seattle Supersonics.

PROPOSED CENTRAL DIVISIONPROPOSED PACIFIC DIVISIONHere is a visual representation of what I'm proposing for the Western Conference once Seattle joins the NHL.

That looks pretty good. Hopefully the NHL does well in Seattle as it is in Las Vegas.

Seattle Kraken
I like that name the best of the possibilities that have been suggested so far.
