MATT KNICKS & STEVIE FIERCE vs. CHEECH & COLIN DELANEY
"Very competitive match between these two young and upcoming teams. Colin connected quickly with a pump kick to Fierce followed up quickly with a hot tag to Cheech who hit a tremendous STO for a NEAR fall. Cheech tried to follow up coming off the ropes but instead got caught in a sensational spine buster to make the tag to the 2018 Midwest Mania Tournament Champion, Matt Knicks.

The Illinois native came in with a house of fire connecting in concession a Tornado Kick followed up with a Superkick! Delaney came into the ring to make the pin save but got a Blue Thunder Bomb for his troubles thanks to Stevie who then came off the ropes with a neck breaker on Cheech and then flew off the ropes once again with a dive that took himself and Delaney crashing threw the ropes to the concrete!

Knicks tried to take down Cheech again but instead got caught with Busaiku Knee Kick thanks to Cheech, who then went quickly up to the top rope and looked to come down with a vicious knee strike but instead got all mat as Knicks moved out of the way. As Cheech slowly got to his feet he got caught with the Wolf Fang Fist to put him on his back for the three count!"

*AFTER THE MATCH, MATT TOOK THE MICROPHONE AND THANKED THE FANS, AND ADMITTED WINNING THE MIDWEST-MANIA TOURNAMENT WAS ONE OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF HIS CAREER. HE THEN SUDDENLY CALLED OUT CURRENT TRADITION CHAMPION: CHUCK TAYLOR!

THE CROWD ERUPTED IN YES CHANTS AS THE CURRENT CHAMPION CAME DOWN INTO THE RING HOLDING THE TRADITION TITLE HIGH! THE TWO WENT NOSE TO NOSE AS TRASH TALKING BEGAN UNTIL TRADITION MANAGEMENT LED BY SOCAL VAL CAME INTO THE RING TO SEPARATE THE TWO! TAYLOR LEFT THE BUILDING ALONG WITH THE TRADITION STAFF*


CHRIS DICKINSON vs. RICKY SHANE PAGE
"A heavy hitting affair between these two strikers, early on RSP caught the Dirty Daddy with his ROLLING ELBOW Finisher which Chris survived but lost a couple of teeth in the process! Shane went for what he thought the kill shot but as he came off the ropes he got checked with a nasty lariat which led to 2 consecutive lariats in the corner! Chris would spit blood out of his mouth and hit his burning hammer for a NEAR fall!

Both men slowly got to their feet both have taken some tremendous punishment from one another, Dickinson attempted a Dragon suplex but instead a Twist of Faith a reversal by Ricky Shane Page which gave him the hard fought victory."


FIRST ROUND MATCH UP

SARAYA KNIGHT vs. TRISH STRATUS
"One hell of a match that saw Knight get the upper hand early as Trish made her way inside the ring she got blind sided by a corner dropkick leading to a neck jarring DDT spiking the blonde beauty right on her head!

The WWE Hall of Famer rolled out of the ring but only got thrown into the steel post for her troubles by Knight, who then went up on the ring apron and dove off looking to splash Trish who moved just in the nick of time!

Saraya hit hard on the concrete and as she slowly sat up she got hit in the face via a bicycle kick! Stratus got her opponent back in the ring and delivered a picture perfect neck breaker which led to the stratusphere for a NEAR fall!!!

Knight slowly got to her feet as Trish delivered a vicious chop across her chest which the native of England responed with a continuous barrage of pounding forearms but Stratus refused to stay down and she would respond with forearm smashes of her own! When out of nowhere she would connect with her Chick Kick for ANOTHER near fall! Trish would quickly climb to the top rope looking to put Knight away but instead Saraya would catch her Canadian opponent in mid air and deliver a running Samoan drop for the 3 count to advance to the second round of the tournament to end the show!"

CRAIG MITCHELL w/ Dan Severn vs. PETEY WILLIAMS
"Williams used his speed to get the bigger Mitchell down with a spin-wheel kick followed by a rope saddle dropkick...Mitchell withstood with the encouragement of Severn from the outside

Craig caught Williams coming off the ropes with a big knee which led to a power bomb piledriver for a near fall! Mitchell went to throw Petey into the ropes but got reversed and Williams connected with a sick elbow strike to the face when out of nowhere he connected with his CANADIAN DESTROYER Finisher!

Mitchell was able to roll out of the ring before the cover attempt, Williams went out to get him to finish him when Severn stood of Mitchell and had a stare down with the Canadian. This gave enough time for Mitchell to recover and push Williams face first into the steel post busting him open! Mitchell then rolled his opponent back in the ring and delivered another powerbomb piledriver for the three count and victory."

*AFTER THE MATCH, DAN SEVERN GRABBED THE MICROPHONE AS HE STOOD WITH MITCHELL IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RING, BUT BEFORE HE COULD SAY A WORD THE 2018 SWEET SCIENCE 16 TOURNAMENT WINNER; ROCKY ROMERO MADE HIS RETURN TO AN ABSOLUTE FREEDOM RING AND WENT FACE TO FACE SEVERN BUT MITCHELL WENT IN FRONT OF ROMERO, OFFICIALS CAME STORMING INTO THE RING AND SEPARATED THE OPPOSING PARTIES BEFORE ANY MAJOR ALTERCATION OCCURRED*


NIKKI ROXX vs. LEVA BATES vs. CHERRY BOMB vs. COURTNEY RUSH
"First fall here gets the victory which led to some fast and furious action through out, it should be noted that Bates and Rush really tore into each other early on in this match would led to them brawling into the front row of the fans. Roxx and Cherry both had near falls on each other thanks to delivering their finishers to one another.

The one brief moment Bates was able to pull herself away from Courtney she did connect with her super hero kick on Roxx and went for the cover however Cherry caught Bates with Bombs Away and then covered Nikki for the three count as Courtney who got busted open by Bates continued to hammer Bates who fell outside the ring."



CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
(C) CHUCK TAYLOR vs. MATT KNICKS
"History made as this is the first championship match of any kind taking place in a Absolute Freedom ring. The two combatants would exchange strikes in the center of the ring. Knicks would get thrown into the turnbuckle and bounce forward into a clothesline slingshot followed up by the Champ delivering sole food!

Taylor would attempt his straight jacket suplex BUT Knicks would reverse the hold and hit his Wolf Fang fist! Taylor would roll out of the ring to avoid the pin attempt, Knicks would go outside and thge two would brawl it out with Chuckie T getting the advantage throw Matt back in the ring and get the near fall thanks to Sole Food!

The two would both struggle to their feet and exchange vicious back elbows, purple rain by Matt Knicks followed by a Tornado kick for a NEAR fall! Taylor would sucker Matt in and connect him with a super kick and applying his cross crab! Knicks struggled but eventually made the ropes for the break. Knicks would get kicked out of the ring and body slammed on the concrete by Chuck but as Taylor threw Knick back in the ring and was coming back into the squared circle he would get caught a stiff knee to the chest which led to his FALLING STAR Finisher!

The champion would barely kick out before the three count causing Knicks to question the officials count which gave Chuck time to recover to hit a super kick leading to a turnbuckle bomb right into his AWFUL WAFFLE Finisher for the three count and successfully defend the TRADITION Championship!"

*AFTER THE MATCH SOCAL VAL CAME INTO THE RING AND HELPED CHUCK TAYLOR TO HIS FEET WITH THE TITLE, SHE CLAPPED FOR MATT KNICKS WHO WAS HELPED OUT OF THE RING AND TO THE BACK, AS CHUCK TAYLOR CELEBRATED IN THE RING, VAL TOOK THE HOUSE MICROPHONE AND TOLD EVERYONE THAT THE TRADITION CHAMPIONSHIP CONTINUES ITS JOURNEY ON THE GENTLEMEN'S AGREEMENT.....NEXT STOP DEFIANT WRESTLING!*

"Its great to be able to compete on a regular basis in the Midwest, especially in my home state of Michigan, MIDWEST MANIA was a great event, simply for the fact that their are some tremendous wrestlers throughout the area and the fact that it was showcased is a plus...I hope this event continues into the future.

Will I compete in the square circle again...well that is the question isn't it?, lets just say I am content with my current role in the industry more specifically in Absolute Freedom...being able to teach the young talent like a Craig Mitchell keeps me in the sport mentally despite my body getting older, it's a way to give back.

Fred Yehi, well he put himself in quite a predicament didn't he. I tell you he is a TREMENDOUS talent hence why I extended my hand to him in a show of my respect to him...and when he did NOT except it that told me all I needed to know. He is disrespectful to not only to me but to everyone that came before him to help make this sport to what it is today.

I take respect VERY seriously I just don't hand it out like candy..so when you do recieve it you better understand and respect it, he did not and Craig Mitchell did..you see what has happened since then....Mr. Yehi is nowhere to be found in Absolute Freedom and Craig Mitchell is one of the hottest prospects in the sport.

That leads me to Mr. Rocky Romero, that gentlemen seems to have an issue, let me explain to you I did not shake that man's hand because he has not earned MY respect. I do not owe him or I do not have to prove anything to him...and when it's all said and done Mr. Romero better watch himself if continues with these same actions. The fact that he is receiving a TRADITION Championship match, a championship I am VERY familiar with as you know...SWEET SCIENCE 16 TOURNAMENT Champion be damned is a ridiculous notion made by whomever is in charge of the TRADITION Promotion and DEFIANT Promotion as well for running that match

Now if you excuse me I have to get back to teaching my students ..we are done here"

MATT CROSS & JOSH PROHIBITION vs. HAAS & HOYT w/ HAYDEN in their corner
"A hard hitting affair early on, especially between Hoyt and Prohibition with heavy exchanges of strikes. The advantage however went to the team of H.H.H when Haas took out Prohibition via an overhead belly to belly suplex which launched Josh half way across the ring!

Hoyt would tag in and trap Prohibition in the corner with nasty forearm smashes which would lead to a pump handle slam for a near fall! Matt Cross would come in and make the save via shooting star press from the top! All four men just went at each other which saw Josh Prohibition get the advantage on Charlie which ended up with the Dallas Texas native get dropped neck and head first via a brain buster onto a knee!

Hoyt this time makes the save but Haas immediately rolled out of the ring in severe pain as officials came from the back to check on him...Hoyt would see his partner hurt and go on an absolute blitzkrieg of destruction on both his opponents, choke slam after choke slam on both of them...Cross would attempt to go low on Hoyt but Hayden would get in the ring and connect with a high knee strike to the back of his head which would lead right into Hoyt delivering his F'N SLAM! Barbie would then help Haas back in the ring to make the cover for the the three count and huge victory "

*AFTER THE MATCH AS HAAS REFUSED MEDICAL ATTENTION AND STOOD TALL IN THE RING, H.H.H MOTIONED FOR TITLES AROUND THEIR WAISTS AND HOYT GRABBED THE HOUSE MICROPHONE AND CALLED OUT RING KAMPF! THEN SPECIFICALLY WALTER WHO HE WILL FACE ON THE DEBUT SHOW OF DEFIANT!*

MATT KNICKS vs. CRAIG MITCHELL
"Matt came into this match looking to rebound after a tough loss to the TRADITION Champion; Chuck Taylor on the last show. On the flip side Craig has been on a heck of a winning streak as of late BUT did not have his mentor Dan Severn at ring side do to the BEAST being apart of the DEFIANT Wrestling debut show taking on FRED YEHI

Both went back and forth with some tremendous offense, Knicks would connect with a Tornado kick for a near fall and just as impressive Mitchell would connect with a big man moonsault for a NEAR fall of his own.

It should be noted that CHRIS CASTRO would eventually make his way to ringside which distracted Mitchell enough to have him take the eyes of his opponent to let Knicks get the victory thanks to Purple Rain!"



TOMOKO NAKAGAWA vs. CHERRY BOMB
"The rematch from the Queen of Indies Qualifying Tournament FINALS between these two is here and they did not disappoint...these two athletes went for a solid half hour tearing into each other in the center of the ring. Bomb had the upper hand early, connecting with a thesz press and open hand strikes which would led to a chin breaker! Tomoko would roll out of the ring to halt the momentum of her opponent when Cheery would come flying threw the ropes with a suicide dive having both crash to the concrete!

Cheery would then toss her opponent from Japan back in the ring but as she was getting back in the ring to what she thought to finish her off she got caught by a basement dropkick followed up with a sliding lariat which looked to knock Cherry out cold! Tomoko then picked up the lifiless body of Cherry and dropped her via a German suplex for a NEAR fall!

Tomoko confronted the official for a moment to question the count, and as she turned her attention back to her opponent Cherry threw her outside the ring once again! Then went to the top rope and dove off with a cross body block to the concrete!!!

As she slowly got back to her feet she tossed Nakagawa back in the ring and went to the top again and went for an elbow drop from the heavens BUT found nothing but canvas as the Japan legend moved out of the way! Who then applies a Boston Crab submission hold right in the middle of the ring!!

After a few painful moments in the hold Cherry was finally able to reach the ropes for the break but only to get hit a step up enzuigiri Cherry slumped in the corner turnbuckle and Tomoko once again went for her sliding lariat but Cherry moved out of the way! and out of nowhere connected with her Bombs Away for a NEAR fall!

The crowd gave both these athletes a standing ovation as both laid exhausted in the ring so much so that neither could amount much more offense as the two would exchange open hand plam strikes to one another from a sited position as the bell rang notifying everyone that the time limit had expired!"

* BOTH COLLAPSED ON THE MAT AS THEIR RESPECTED TAG TEAM PARTNERS KIMBER LEE FOR CHEERY AND KELLIE SLATER FOR TOMOKO ALONG WITH OTHER OFFICIALS CAME DOWN WITH ICE PACKS AND TOWELS FOR BOTH COMBATANTS AS THE SHOW ENDED.*

TAG TEAM ELIMINATION MATCH
4 STAR HEROES vs. JOSH PROHIBITION & MATT CROSS vs. Haas.Hoyt (w/ Hayden in their corner) vs. ROCKY ROMERO & TRENT vs MITCHELL & GAMINI (w/ Dan Severn in their corner)

"As you could probably figure some tremendous action throughout this contest in and out of the ring, at one point Rocky Romero and Dan Severn went face to face with one another with an intense stare down until new comer Dominic Garrini dropped the Sweet Science 16 Tournament winner with a sick German suplex on the wooden floor! Trent would then connect off the apron of the ring with a cross body block onto Dominic into the first row of fans!!!

Hoyt man handled the 4 Star Heroes with vicious choke slams and Charlie Haas and Josh Prohibition would go toe to toe in the corner trading stiff forearm shots to the face!

The first elimination would be Romero who made it back up on the apron only to get caught square in the face with a big knee strike followed up by a power bomb pile driver by Craig Mitchell and despite Trent connecting with his soccer kick to Dominic, the official conted Rocky down for the three count to the delight of Severn who watched on from ringside.

Although the celebration was sort lived as Matt Cross came out of nowhere and connected with a shooting star press on Mitchell who no question would have been counted down for the three count but his new tag team partner made the save breaking up the pin thanks to a flying knee to the back of the head.

Haas however would take advantage and drop Mitchell down for the elimination after a nasty T-Bone suplex for the three count. Prohibition would once again mix it up with Haas and drop him with a crucifix power bomb BUT Lance Hoyt from that moment on dominate this entire match first getting Josh square in the face with a big boot knocking him violently threw the second rope and hard to the floor. Lance would decapitate Matt Cross who come off the top rope right into a lariat..which led to a vicious F'n Slam eliminating Mad Dog and Prohibition.

Matt Knicks and Chris Castro would double team Haas in the corner while that was going on and nearly eliminated Charlie and his team after connecting with their finisher OBAMACARE for s near fall! (Hayden was able to put Charlie's foot on the ropes with out the official seeing it before the three count)

Again Lance Hoyt would take over crushing Knicks threw the ropes to the floor with a vicious pounce like shoulder tackle off the ropes and thanks to Charlie Haas recovering and connecting with a superkick which led right into another F'n Slam by Hoyt....H.H.H STOOD IN THE RING VICTORIOUS!"

AS THE TRIO STOOD TALL IN THE RING, HOYT GABBED THE MICROPHONE AND DEMANDED RINGKAMPF! TO END THE SHOW!
