Third Annual Gary Atkinson Memorial Tournament

The Third Annual Gary Atkinson Memorial Tournament is right around the corner! Meet up with Filsinger Games fans to play in this special Champions of the Galaxy Tournament. Will Thantos win for the third year in a row?

When:
Saturday, June 2, 2018

What Time:

**Tournament Details
-Each player will draft a wrestler from the available characters

-Draft order determined by random drawing
-The players will be broken up into pods based on attendance
-Each pod will play a round robin style tournament
-2 points will be awarded for a win via pinfall or submission
-1 point will be awarded for a win via disqualification or count out
-0 points will be awarded for a loss
-The winner of each pod will advance to the semi-finals
-The semi-final round will be contested under Titan Death Match rules
-The winners of the semi-final bracket will advance to the final match
-The final match will be contested in a Cosmic Cage Match
-The winner of the final match wins the Gary Atkinson Memorial Tournament

**Prizes
-The winner of the Gary Atkinson Memorial Tournament will receive the coveted Birdie trophy and will create the game card given away at next year's tournament!
-All players will receive a copy of the Kymerra game card created by 2017 winner, Kathy Evans

**Eligible Characters
-All game cards from the 25th Anniversary Champions of the Galaxy color starter set
-All color alternate 30th Anniversary variants
-Duke of Destruction (Color Card)
-Red Talon (Color Card)
-Buck Blake (2016 Giveaway)
-Ric Flaireon (2017 Giveway)
-TroyBoy (Intergalactic Pitt Fight) Must be in!

Just a quick update, Thantos is your Gary Atkinson Memorial Tournament winner for the third year in a row.

Thantos (controlled by Rob Craig) defeated Star Warrior (controlled by Pete Beck) with a Masterlock inside the Cosmic Cage to once again win the "Birdie" trophy!

Yes, Congrats to Rob for taking Thantos to the tournament win!

I actually had the first pick of characters in the draft and took Star Warrior with the express intent to dethrone Thantos...but there is something about Thantos and this tournament. Star Warrior hit an early Nova Launch, but it wasn't enough to knock out the Evil Gamemaster. As the match progressed, there was a feel that Thantos just had it...only a matter of time and two Masterlocks later it was over...

Looking forward to next year and the chance to give it another go to knock off Thantos!!!
