I wanted to give a little plug to the 20th annual George Tragos/Lou Thesz Hall of Fame inductions, which are July 26-28 in Waterloo, IA. This is an awesome event, mixing legendary wrestlers with current independent wrestling. You can view the event link at www.facebook.com/events/606623089688058/ Wrestlers scheduled to appear include Booker T, Road Warrior Animal, Jim Ross, Gerry Brisco, Wes Brisco, B. Brian Blair, Larry Hennig, Austin Aries, Dan Severn, Stan Hansen, Nikita Koloff, Tony Garea, Ben Askren (MMA), Dan Gable, JJ Dillon, Brian Cage, Colt Cabana, DJZ, Bob Holly, Bruce Hart, and Bob Orton. In addition, Charlie Thesz and Barbara Goodish will be there, along with artist Rob Schamberger, and historians Koji Miyamoto, Wade Keller, Bruce Mitchell, and Scott Teal. Tim and I have been to every one of these inductions. It is a blast, and you will have an awesome time. You will never find a better opportunity to interact with the wrestlers. If you need travel info, or if you have any other questions, please let me know.

It looks like I am finally going to make it to the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame inductions this year! My plan is to go to Pittsburgh for Galacticon, go to Canton to see the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and then fly home for about 5-6 days. Then the Sunday of that week I am taking a bus from McCarran Airport to Northern Arizona to catch the train (I don't understand why we don't have train service anymore here in Las Vegas) and then take the train to Kansas City (it should be really scenic as the train goes through the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains.) I am going to spend two days in Kansas City (going to a Royals game, the National WWI Museum- seeing it exactly 100 years after WWI ended in 1918, eating KC BBQ, doing the Gangster Tour, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, possibly Arrowhead tour, and probably other things I do not know about yet.) The second night I am in KC, I board a Greyhound for Waterloo (only costs $40) and I am there 12 hours later about 1 PM that Thursday. Thanks to Avarice for driving me from Waterloo to Des Moines early that Sunday morning so I can make my flight home to Las Vegas (I have to attend the AP conference here that starts the next day.) Looking forward to seeing Chad and Tim again and to meeting Avarice in person for the first time. Hopefully some others on this board will make it too. My Summer job is apparently guaranteed for both terms which means I will have the funds and I am 95% certain I will be there.

I've been there once and am looking forward to my return. Hanging out with Vegas and others will be a treat.

Zeke, KC is a fun place. The Negro League Baseball Museum is very cool! Gates and Jack Stack BBQ are all great places.
You'll get to meet Stu in Waterloo, and hopefully Cory can make it down.

Yeah, in addition to the events in Waterloo, I am also really looking forward to seeing Kansas City. I nearly went last year but had to postpone going at the last minute. I get to KC at 8 AM and leave the next day at about Midnight so I will be there for two days. It is a 31 hour train ride but Amtrak has WIFI and beer so I will be OK.

Kauffman Stadium is really nice, and Arrowhead is right next to it, so hopefully you can take the Arrowhead tour.

Awesome. I'm new-ish to the boards, but have been to Waterloo several times. (And.. lived in cedar falls many, many years ago.) If Filsinger people are gathering and if it is open, I'd be down. You say where and when. This is such a great event, so fan friendly. If you love wrestling and are an upper Midwesterner (or not in the case of Vegas!!), you owe it to yourself to come.
