Vegas KC is great. Specifically the WWI meuseum, however, plan for a lengthy run through. It is really well done and can suck you in if you have even moderate interest in the subject. With in walking (decent jaunt) is a block and a half of breweries (three), record shops (two), good beer bar (one) and freaking great pizza shop that is all worth while too. Kansas City is great.

Kauffman Stadium is really nice, and Arrowhead is right next to it, so hopefully you can take the Arrowhead tour. Are Kauffman Stadium and Arrowhead close to the WWI museum? I plan to go to a Tigers/Royals game the first night I am in Kansas City and will tour Arrowhead if they are offering tours that day. Before I go to the MLB game, I was planning on going to the National WWI Museum.

Zeke, iowaoaks can verify, but I don't think the WWI museum is by the sports complex. Kauffman/Arrowhead are kind of off by themselves.
When you're in Iowa, you should try to check out the Iowa military history museum. It's not far from the wrestling museum. Tim, Connor, and I went there a few years ago and it was pretty cool, very visual and interactive. I can get you there.

Awesome. I'm new-ish to the boards, but have been to Waterloo several times. (And.. lived in cedar falls many, many years ago.) If Filsinger people are gathering and if it is open, I'd be down. You say where and when. This is such a great event, so fan friendly. If you love wrestling and are an upper Midwesterner (or not in the case of Vegas!!), you owe it to yourself to come. I enjoyed meeting you at the show last year. We were marking out over the black & white Red Talon and Duke of Destruction cards! What time are you getting into town Friday? Maybe we could do a meet up at Single Speed Brewery before the show. It's a few blocks from the Five Sullivan Brothers center, in the old Wonder Bread factory. There's an after the show party on Friday night at the Screaming Eagle too.

Zeke, that is awesome that you are coming! I am really trying hard to make it down this year. Should know soon.
I haven't been to all of the HOF inductions, like Chad, Tim, and a small group of others have, but I have attended (I believe) 13 of them. It's been amazing to meet so many great names over the years and we've landed a few LOW signings through this event.
The Impact Pro Wrestling cards on Friday night have really added something to the whole weekend experience, in my opinion. You get to see some local Midwest talent, as well as some great indy names. Two years ago, I saw one of the greatest matches I've seen live when Richochet beat Sami Callihan. Last year, the HOF Classic tournament showcased some great matches and names, including Shelton Benjamin, right as he was going back to WWE. The finals saw Chuck Taylor beat Shane Strickland. (Shane became one of my new favorite wrestlers that weekend, due to his theme song.) I've gotten to know some of the IPW wrestlers well, including multi-time champ James Jeffries and current Women's champion Frankie Jay. Two years ago, James won the IPW belt in a Cage Match, managed by J.J. Dillon. I've gotten to see James wrestle up here in the Twin Cities for Steel Domain Wrestling as well.
If you're able to attend, I highly recommend it. It's always a memorable experience!

I'm going to go into shill mode a little. I help book Impact Pro Wrestling, which is Iowa's longest running wrestling promotion and has been in existence since 2001. We have been running shows in conjunction with the Tragos/Thesz Hall of Fame weekend for eight years. This year's Hall of Fame classic tournament features Austin Aries, Colt Cabana, Bob Holly, DJ Zema Ion, Brian Cage, Curt Stallion, AirWolf, and an IPW representative who will be decided in a qualifier in Des Moines on July 17th. Plus, we just signed a pretty big international star to for the Friday night show. If you are within 4-6 hours driving of Waterloo, Iowa, and like independent wrestling, I strongly recommend that you consider attending this event, taking place July 26-28. If you just want to go to the wrestling shows, they are Friday, July 27.
You can fly into Waterloo, IA, or Cedar Rapids, IA, which is an hour drive from Waterloo. If you have any questions regarding logistics or tickets, please let me know.

Finally getting to a reply - it has been a week. I'm certainly going to make Friday and LOVE the idea of meeting at Single Speed, as they make some great beer! I work for brewery in Des Moines (515 Brewing) and just don't get out to see other taprooms in the state much. So, this can be a "good will tour," yeah. Maybe there is a way to write some of this off.... Most of my staff has taken that weekend off, so, I'm stuck behind the counter much of Saturday. So, I'm probably driving back after the show. Lots of stuff up in the air, but I wouldn't miss this event. It is Iowa's best pro-wrestling event of the year (one of the midwest's, really.)
Some questions for you Chad.. - Jim Ross. Does he attend the Friday night signing and show? Of all the people Past, Present and Future in Pro-Wrestling I'd like to meet, he is THE one. His commentary is probably the reason I am still a wrestling fan. I know he has mentioned the event on his pod-cast. Just sort of checking. I also want to shake Colt's hand and tell him how great of a job he is doing for RoH. Yes, I have a thing for commentary (..and Booker T at the same show. Wow, that is a different, but awesome theme!) - Austin Aries. I'm blown away that he'll be there. Does he live in the midwest? How did you get him on this show? He is World Champ at current, just a huge, huge deal. (And I really want to get his book from him - I'm a vegetarian of many years.) - Your tease of International star has my interest up. You wouldn't want to tell us, would you?
As you guys put together more details on meeting - and I figure out my plans - by all means keep me in the loop. I'm in.
