One thing I think is really cool about this year's Stanley Cup is that regardless who wins there will be a first time champion. I know Washington has only been to the finals once back in the late 90s during the days of Olie the Goalie. Good luck to the Washington Capitals, their fans, and their temporary supporters. But you know who I personally really want to win the Stanley Cup- the Vegas Golden Knights.  Go Knights Go! I'm pulling for your guys Vegas, but that is a good point about either team being a first time winner. However the Golden Knights winning the Stanley Cup in their debut season would make for an amazing story. I'm saying the Golden Knights take it in seven. I anticipate a wild back and forth series. |

Some earlier comments/predictions for the Golden Knights after last year's expansion draft:
The Hockey News: "How good will the Golden Knights be? Not very."
Deadspin: "Wow The Golden Knights Are Going To Be Bad."
Newsweek: "Vegas Golden Knights Are Going To Suck in 2017-18 And Here's Why."
It sounds like that Newsweek article was probably pretty bad.
I am obviously cheering for the Vegas Golden Knights because they are the local hometown team. But I would probably cheer for them anyway (unless of course I was a legitimate Washington fan) as I always like someone perceived as the underdog achieving success.

 6@kevinb, I respect you 100% and was proud as hell to see you win the Galacticon Cup last Summer (well deserved my friend!) but I think we might be on different sides on who we want to win the Stanley Cup lol but it is cool. friends can always agree to disagree, right? friends forever! (even if I choose to cheer for the hometown Golden Knights?) |
