Soooo.... A long time player. From when I was a kid, young adult and then picked back up this year... Thinking about attending Galacticon for the first time this year? What's it like? I'd be attending with my with and 3 year old daughter most likely, is it kid friendly? Seemingly contradictory (but obviously not lol), is there beer? lol It seems like COTG would be even more fun with other people and with beer. Any types of commentary welcome. Thanks, guys.

We hang around, we play tournaments, we have fun.
While probably not the most exciting thing in the world for a young child, we're kid friendly.
No beer in the con itself usually. Outside the con, drink to your hearts content.

Yeah, no beer at GalactiCon. Thought with the venue this year that we may be able to swing it, but they specially stated no alcohol in the agreement I signed. Oh well. I'm sure we will grab some after the con. As Troy said while it is family friendly, I wouldn't say its the most stimulating environment for a 3 year old girl. If you are in charge of her that day and are bringing her I would make sure to bring entertainment for her so you can play yourself.

How many cards do people typically bring with them for tournaments? Looking to avoid overloading myself

Pretty much same situation for me except I went last year. I would definitely recommend going just for meeting everyone you see on the boards. Tom is super cool in person and the Q&A is fun. The Auction gives u a chance at cool and usually very rare memorabilia (for a good cause). If you are looking for extra guys to add to your GWF, Brocster has a stand set up w/ high quality cards that would fit right in. Chikara vs Beyond: Clan Feuds! Kingdom Come, Spike, The Valiants and the most ridiculous Indy set ever printed! And once again, all the good people! Hope to see you there.

How many cards do people typically bring with them for tournaments? Looking to avoid overloading myself Usually Jim Steel provides the cards for the tournaments. The only card I am bringing since I am flying in is my Shane Taylor card so I can possibly get it autographed at the Saturday night show.

A couple of years, Jim has even gotten them all back at the end of the Con...
