Animal powers out of early headlock, jumping elbow drop connects and we are outside. Dr. Mike Lano captures the action. Back inside Duggan with wild haymakers, Animal with belly to belly suplex. Animal keeps on Duggan. Blatant choke, pair of flying elbow drops.
Another jumping elbow, hoisted into a choke. Heat for the Road Warrior. Animal leaps….

Battle between two brawlers to start the tournament off that is far more one sided than expected.

Bruiser Brody v. Iron Sheik
Sheik spits venom on the mic . . . Brody swings his chain . . . everyone bails. Morgan Dollars at play by play table . . . he is calling this one by the rule book! GOOD LUCK! Sheik spits on Brody!!! Brody with chops and punches, one handed body slam . . . Sheik bails! Sheik eats the ringside table.
Back inside. Piledriver, another piledriver. . . two count only. Brody sets up….

Bruiser Brody wins with JUMPING KNEE DROP

A wild encounter with plenty of heat but another one that was one sided bell to bell.

Both out to “Pop and Circumstance” . . . George screaming at Morgan Dollar “that’s my song!” . . . Long time preparing on the floor . . .Dollar sends Dupré to the back . . . GEORGE ALMOST IN TEARS!!!! Lock up, backed to corner, Irish whip and reversals . . .George bounces out into clothesline! Savage cat like to the top . . . FLYING ELBOW SMASH . . . TWO COUNT ONLY! Entertaining interactions prior to the bell but once again a one-sided victory over before it really started.

Race is working over DiBiase with knees and an elbow drop. Whip to the corner, DiBiase counters clothesline with one of his own, both down. DiBiase with backbreaker, Race sent into the ropes, ducks, crosses, back elbow from DiBiase
Suplexes from DiBiase, falling first drop misses! Race with kick in the corner, Indian Deathlock . . . rope break. PILEDRIVER from Race . . .TWO COUNT. Backbreaker, headbutts. DiBiase with chop, Race keeps coming. Head butt, back suplex . . . leg hook for two . . . DiBiase tossed to floor

Harley race wins with a roll up

The closest contested match of the tournament so far but in the end Race had just too many weapons and too many smarts.

Road Warrior Hawk w/Paul Ellering v. Jimmy Snuka
Snuka spends several minutes greeting his fans. Hawk’s kick misses, Snuka with a piledriver, deathjump cross body . . . Morgan Dollar goes down! Battle on the floor. Hawk with a chair, Snuka takes it and smashes the Road Warrior. Back in side, SUPERFLY LEAP. NO REFEREE! Hawk tossed to the floor, Snuka checks on Dollar.
Hawk back inside, Snuka controls. SUPERFLY LEAP. Dollar is STILL DOWN! Back to the floor, Snuka eats the table. Dollar is back to his feet. Back to the floor again. Ellering gets double sledge shot. Dollar calls for the bell. Headbutt drops Ellering, Snuka brawls with Hawk . . . Road Warrior Animal arrives. Bruiser Brody arrives with a chain . . . Security it out.

Jimmy Snuka wins via disqualification for outside interference.

Despite the controversial finish, an impressive outing for the Superfly who dominated most of the action. Expected this one to much closer but the post match action was fun

Bobo Brazil v. Curt Hennig
Hennig is so smug . . . Brazil is so OVER! Hennig’s uses his speed. Standing dropkick connects, rolling neck snap, Brazil bails. Back inside, HENNIG PLEX, not even close. Forearm hammer, another standing dropkick. Sleeper slumps Brazil to the mat. Hennig hooks Brazil

Curt Hennig wins with HENNIG PLEX

Big upset here as one of the tournament favourites and most popular competitors is out in yet another one side bout. Hate to say it but a near “perfect” performance from Hennig

Lou Thesz v. Nikolai Volkoff
Everyone stand out of respect for the Russian Anthem…. Classic heat! Headlock and punches from Volkoff, Thesz transitions into rolling short arm scissors followed by a kick that catches Volkoff in the face. Moonsault from Thesz!!! WHAT!!!! Volkoff bails.
Back inside, Volkoff powers out of facelock and knee lift, trading headlocks, Thesz shot off into the ropes . . . flying tackle. Double leg pick up and slam is countered, back into the ropes for another flying tackle, dropkicks stagger Volkoff. Airplane spin has the fans on their feet, another Airplane spin, third one and both men can barely stand. Volkoff falls to the floor, Thesz falls to the mat. OVATION! Thesz is outside for an exchange
Back inside, another airplane spin. Dollar drops for a two count. Thesz with a punch to ribs and another moonsault! Airplane spin again sends Volkoff to the floor . . . back inside, Thesz misses a kick, Volkoff’s running lariat does not! Volkoff with running stomps and another running lariat. Thesz rolls to the floor. Volkoff follows. Thesz reverses and rams Volkoff’s face into the table
THESZ PRESS . . .NOPE! Double leg pick up into slam . . . countered, head butts, hammer to back, Russian Bear Hug . . . Thesz punches free, falls to the floor. Volkoff outside, grabs a chair, cracks Thesz across the back . . .Morgan Dollar calls it.

Lou Thesz wins via disqualification

A violent conclusion to the match at the point where the action was starting to become interesting. Looking forward to the next time these two cross paths.

Buddy Rogers v. Rob Van Dam
Nature Boy is all over Morgan Dollar who does not look pleased. Rogers gains control, jumping knee smash lands, Van Dam bails. Brawl of the floor, Dr. Mike Lano captures the action, chop block to Van Dam. Back inside, FIGURE FOUR GRAPEVINE . . . Van Dam just makes the ropes. Clothesline in the corner. Rogers mounts the corner . . . gloats for some HEAT. Tossed to the mat!
Van Dam to the top . . . FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH . . .Two count only! Van Dam back up to the top . . . second FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH . . . one, two, three quarters! Third time to the top . . . FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH! ONE COUNT ONLY!!!! ROARING!
To the floor, Van Dam eats the ringside table. Inside atomic drop into the knee. Rogers back to the top. Van Dam knocks the ropes . . . Nature Boy down in a heap. Rolls to the floor, leg drop across the guardrail. Back inside, Van Dam cover for two and half! Rolling Thunder and split legged moonsault. Rogers looking for safety outside. Rob Van Dam wins with FIVE STAR FROG SPLASH

Solid main event with Van Dam really coming back strong after a slow start.

The show wraps with the announcers hyping the conclusion of the ULWL Title Tournament at the next card before thanking everyone for checking out the action!

Overall
Although the action could have been stronger bell to bell, the goal of this event was to set the table for the balance of the ULWL Title Tournament which will take place at the next card. Mission accomplished.

Storyline-wise, we have some interesting friction developing between The Road Warriors, Jimmy Snuka & Bruiser Brody. Will we see if Snuka & Brody team up in the future to face Hawk & Animal perhaps even in the upcoming ULWL Tag Team Title Tournament? Certainly, the next chapter in this story will unfold at the next card when Brody faces Animal in the round two of the ULWL Title Tournament. In addition, you can guarantee that Lou Thesz was not happy about getting waffled with a chair by Nikolai Volkoff and will be looking forward to giving Volkoff a receipt down the road.

It will be interesting to see who comes away with the Title after the final rounds of action.

As mi amigo TTX said, you're feds are always top notch but I have to tell you I'm REALLY digging this one!

The City of Creativity first off is great and although as you stated a lot of the matches were one sided, I really like the way you present the action.

Like fast forwarding through the match but still enjoying the flavor and rhythym of the bouts.

I assume these are the color Legends right, (I'm still in black and white).

Great wins for Race, Thesz and Van Dam especially.

A team of Snuka and Brody will be sick.

You are correct Bri , these are my colour legends. I am glad you enjoy the presentation of the reboot. I wanted each of my feds (B & W, ULWL and Northern Indy) to have a different look so I decided to reboot the colour legends to make that happen.

Huge tension before the bell . . . Brody poised to defend with his chain . . . Morgan Dollar kicks out Paul Ellering & Road Warrior Hawk from ringside!
Animal blocks early charge with knee, kick in the corner, scoop slam, jumping elbow drop. Flying shoulder ram downs Brody for one. Animal flies with a deathjump shoulder block. Animal tosses Brody to the floor, follows him out. Brody grabs Dr. Mike Lano’s camera, breaks it over Animal’s skull! Morgan Dollar calls it. Hawk and Ellering are back out, Brody grabs his chain . . . Legion of Doom think twice, retreat.

Road Warrior Animal wins by disqualification

A big upset to open up the action with Brody not being able to get anything going in the ring and his efforts outside the ring proving costly.

Harley Race v. “Macho Man” Randy Savage
Race gets into an argument with Morgan Dollar before the bell, neither man looked pleased . . . Race misses elbow drop, Savage with neckbreaker clothesline . . . Race bails . . . brawl on the floor. Back inside. FLYING ELBOW SMASH . . . ONE COUNT ONLY! Back to the floor, Dr. Mike Lano runs for his life. In the ring, Savage with double axe-handle from the top, piledriver from Savage, Race sent into the ropes . . . rebounds with tackle.

Back suplex, backbreaker, second back suplex from Race. Falling knee lands. Race whips Savage to the corner . . . misses charge hitting the buckles . . . roll up for two. Savage with flying axe-handle to the outside. Race reverses whip . . . Savage into the ring post! Savage is busted open.

Randy Savage wins with a moonsault

The bar was raised for in ring action with this encounter. Both men kicked out of each other’s finishers and Savage battled back after bleeding buckets to claim the victory over a double tough opponent.

Hennig jaws with Morgan Dollar before the bell shaking up the official . . . Snuka greats the fans at ringside before the action . . . Action quickly goes to the floor, Hennig sends Snuka into the post, busted open! Back outside, Dr. Mike Lano is tossed around! Back outside again, Snuka eats the ringside table. Running lariat ducked, pair of backbreakers from Snuka

Whip to the corner . . . reversed, Superfly ducks out, Hennig hard to buckles chest first . . . two count for Snuka, flying head butt connects, power slam and head butt follow. Chops and kicks. Backbreaker and power slam. Hennig bails . . . Snuka flies to the outside! Both back in before ten. Hennig tossed to opposite side of ring . . .Snuka leaps over the top a second time! Dollar is counting, 8, 9, Hennig back in.
More brawling on the floor. Back in the ring, leap frog and chop, power slam for one only. Flying head butt lands, Hennig bails. Jimmy Snuka wins with SUPERFLY LEAP

Lots of intensity in this one as Snuka wrestled an impressive match and came away with the victory despite being busted open and the referee bump late in the match.

Lou Thesz v. Rob Van Dam
Electric crowd. Handshake, struggle at the lock up, running lariat from Van Dam, body scissors into cradle, standing moonsault, another body scissors cradle, Thesz needs to regroup on the floor, Van Dam chases and they trade blows

Van Dam tosses Thesz outside again, Van Dam with whip at ringside . . . reversed! Van Dam shoulder first to the post! Thesz punishes with double wrist lock, Van Dam takes a breather. Back inside, Thesz back to the double wristlock, GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP, Van Dam just gets his shoulder up. THESZ PRESS for another long two count, Thesz punishes with a pair of stepover toehold facelocks

Van Dam to the floor, drags Thesz out by the leg, whip into the post! Back inside, Van Dam tosses Thesz to the floor, Thesz drags Van Dam outside, whip into the ring steps. Back to the double wrist lock, double leg pick-up and slam follows and then airplane spin. Cover for one only. Thesz grabs a waste lock . . .

Lou Thesz wins with a GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP

An impressive outing for Thesz who showed he could brawl with one of the best and still stay true to his classic mat style to get the win.

ULWL Title Tournament – Semi-Finals

Road Warrior Animal w/Paul Ellering v. “Macho Man” Randy Savage
Savage head is wrapped up to protect the laceration from his earlier match. Strict instructions from Morgan Dollar . . . Animal grabs an arm, Savage counters, hits neckbreaker clothesline, running knee to back, elbow to head, rope straddle misses. Animal attempts front face lock, Savage back to feet, whip to corner, Animal gets the knees up, jumping elbow drop, whip to corner . . . crack heads! Both go down. Animal is up first . . . tombstone countered, Savage dropping knees, neckbreaker clothesline. Elbow to head blocked, elbow hammer misses, rope straddle misses, jumping elbow smash does not. Savage bails . . . trips over Dr. Mike Lano!!! Animal with stomps.

POWER SLAM . . . one count only. Another POWER SLAM . . . one, two, three-quarters. Tombstone piledriver. Savage to the floor. Back into the ring, another tombstone attempt blocked, elbow to head . . . rope straddle . . .Ellering gets Animal out of the way . . . HEAT! Elbow hammer and another. Jumping elbow smash . . . hooks the leg for two! Boot to the midsection, press slam! Animal picks up Savage. . .

Arguably the biggest upset of the tournament with Animal winning the classic match up of speed v. power and advancing to the finals.

Jimmy Snuka v. Lou Thesz
Handshake… SPORTSMANSHIP! Snuka out of the lock up with chops, kick to the stomach. Backbreaker, more chops . . . shot to the ribs from Thesz, dropkicks connect. Whip to the corner, Snuka bounces out with clothesline! Thesz bails, followed by Snuka. Dr. Mike Lano gets tangled up in the struggle, Thesz takes advantage.

Back inside . . . cobra clutch suplex plants Snuka, airplane spin . . . two from Morgan Dollar. Dropkicks from Thesz stun Snuka. Kicks to the knee, shot to the ribs, kick in the corner. Irish whip out . . . Snuka counters a clothesline with one of his own! Both down. Thesz recovers, double wristlock . . . Snuka escapes, cobra clutch suplex, punch to the ribs. Back into the ropes and sent across . . . backdrop . . . COUNTERED! Piledriver from Snuka.

Thesz tossed to the floor. Back inside, flying head butt on target. Vicious chop from Snuka, kick to the leg from Thesz, dropkicks, kick to the leg. Snuka back with more chops, dropkick of his own. Belly to belly blocked, dropkicks from Thesz, kick to the leg, shot to the ribs, whip to the corner . . .REVERSED. Snuka charges in . . . defensive clothesline! Snuka backdropped to the floor. Whip into the ring rails, double wristlock, punch to ribs, double leg pickup to slam . . . blocked. Backbreaker . . . two count. Snuka mounts the corner . . .

Thesz immediately tells Dollar that his shoulder was up at the count of three and ringside is confused. Even Snuka appears unsure until he is announced as the winner. Despite his obvious frustration, Thesz extends his hand to the victor but tells Snuka that they will meet again soon.

The title tournament takes two shocking turns in the semi-finals with two upset finishes. Thesz appeared to have contained for the most part but Snuka was able to take advantage of his opportunities and advances to the finals after a controversial three count from Morgan Dollar

Volkoff serenade! Sheik speaks fire on the mic . . . HEAT! USA! USA! Brazil and Sheik start, knee lift from Brazil, head scissors, Volkoff tags, after the eyes, Brazil countering back with forearms, Duggan tags in, both missing moves . . .

Duggan with atomic drop, back elbow, kicks to knee, Sheik in, clothesline drops Duggan, kicks, Duggan back into ropes . . . sent across, backdrop . . . countered with piledriver. POP! Whip into corner, kicks, Tough Guy Clothesline. FLYING SPEAR only two! Brazil with COCO BUTT. Another near fall. Running lariat ducked, Volkoff tags. Russian Bear Hug. Brazil hammer free, throat drop on ropes, running lariat ducked, Duggan in with wild haymakers, shoulder block countered, tackle in corner, another tackle misses, Sheik and Brazil in. Bobo body slam, big hammer punch. COCO BUTT for two. Duggan mounts the corner for punches . . . 8, 9 10. Spinning body slam. Duggan changes to corner. . . misses. Brazil is in. COCO BUTT. Volkoff jumps in . . . COCO BUTT for him as well. RINGSIDE EXPLODES. COCO BUTT to the Sheik. Dollar drops for two and three quarters. Duggan tags. to the top. Sheik knocks him to the mat! BOOOO. Volkoff tosses Duggan, brawl on the floor! Dr. Mike Lano is caught in the middle. Duggan shoves him into Volkoff. Duggan with a piledriver. Off the top with elbow to head. Volkoff tossed back to the floor. Back in the ring. Old Glory Knee Drop. One count only. Brazil tags. Brawl on the floor. COCO BUTT for two. Hard smash from the top. Duggan is in. Knee from the second rope. Duggan gets into his football stance . . .

Bobo Brazil & Hacksaw Duggan win with a FLYING SPEAR to Nikolai Volkoff

The battle of good and evil was a fun encounter from start to finish. Look forward to seeing more tag team action shortly with the T ULWL Tag Team Title Tournament. Will we see either of these teams in the tournament?

ULWL Title Tournament – Finals

Road Warrior Animal w/Paul Ellering v. Jimmy Snuka
Morgan Dollar intimidated by Ellering and Animal . . . Press slam from Animal, scoop slam, scoop slam, another and another. Whip to the corner with kick, flying shoulder ram spills Snuka. Animal outside, trips over Dr. Mike Lano . . . Snuka is on his foe. Back to the floor, Animal lifts Snuka on his shoulder . . . BATTERING RAM INTO THE POST!!!! OMG! Back inside, kick to midsection misses, Snuka with a vicious chop. Kick in the corner after an Irish whip in. Leap frog and chop . . .again and vicious chop.

Animal grabs an arm bar, transition to another press slam . . . Snuka rolls outside. Brawl on the floor. Back to a scoop slam, whip to the corner . . . reversed. Snuka lands a kick. Piledriver to Animal, Snuka covers for two. Snuka to the top. SUPERFLY LEAP. Ellering cannot distract Dollar so he jumps into the action. Head butt to Ellering. Snuka back to the top . . .

Jimmy Snuka wins the ULWL Title with a SUPERFLY LEAP

What a comeback victory for the Superfly overcoming an early power onslaught from Animal and the interference of Paul Ellering at the end to claim the victory and the title.

OVERALL
Match-wise, the quality was certainly a step up as was to be expected in the final rounds of the title tournament with Race/Savage leading the way as the must-see encounters of the evening with several other matches being really quite fun as well.

Storyline wise, this card took several unexpected turns resulting in a championship final that likely no one would have predicted at the outset. The tension between Bruiser Brody/Jimmy Snuka remained on full display both in the very first match of the night and in a surprising twist, the last match of the night. Going forward, it is expected that the Road Warriors will be the heavy favourites to win the ULWL Tag Team Title Tournament will be featured on the next ULWL card. However, since it was also expected that Bruiser Brody and Jimmy Snuka would enter the tournament solely for the purpose of facing the Road Warriors at some point during the event. However, as by-laws prevent a competitor from holding two titles at once, it is unlikely Snuka will join Brody in the event leaving Brody without a partner. Will he find someone else to enter the battle for the ULWL Tag Team Titles with? Jimmy Snuka is the first ULWL Champion and it remains unclear who will be his first challenger. Will Road Warrior Animal be granted a rematch? Certainly not if the Road Warriors claim the Tag Team Titles or are at least more interested in tag team glory rather than singles gold. If not Animal then who. Lou Thesz? Certainly, the finish with his semi-final match with the Superfly would warrant a return match but should it be for the title? What about the other semi-finalist Randy Savage?

We will have to wait and see what happens on the next card as eight teams will battle for the ULWL Tag Team Titles.

ULWL Tag Team Title Tournament – Round One

Road Warriors (Hawk & Animal) w/Paul Ellering v. Capital City Psycho Circus (Sinn Bodhi & Blue Meanie)
Morgan Dollar sends Ellering to the back . . . Warriors are not pleased! Bulldog from Meanie blocked by Animal, back bodydrop sends Meanie up and over. Meanie reverses whip to corner . . . charges but Animal moves clear. Roll up for two. Brawl on the floor, Hawk in with running clothesline for another two count. Hawk with an over the shoulder backbreaker . . . IMPRESSIVE! Bodhi is blocked. Meanie makes the ropes. Meanie stumbles to his feet, Hawk charges . . . .

Road Warriors win with a running clothesline to Blue Meanie

After the match, Bodhi lays out Meanie with a TALLULAH BELLE . . . heat!

No surprize here as the Warriors advance in a complete squash.

The Taylors make one mistake and the Express waste no time in making them pay for it. Impressive outing for the Express who come out of top despite having their manager and head of security sent to the back prior to the opening bell.

I am not sure what is more shocking about this result. The fact that Brazil & Duggan won or the fact the match lasted just three moves!

Arguably the most entertaining bout of the tournament with a closely contested opening few minutes to the explosion of offense from the Fantastics at the end.

Duggan controls, Old Glory Knee Drop connects, Fulton tags in, double back elbow connects, leg drop to Duggan, double body drop, leapfrog arm breaker, back elbow smash, Duggan avoids legdrop. Brazil kick in corner, whip to opposite corner, charge countered with knee to the chest, Rogers in, wishbone stomp, beell across the ring is blocked, forearms from Brazil, running lariat . . . ducked, wishbone stomp, kick to face misses, Brazil with Bobo Body Slam, Duggan tags, Belly to belly is countered, Fulton in, Duggan muscles him into corner, whip, reversal, Duggan gets knee up to block charge, Tough Guy Clothesline, another and another!

Spinning body slam, kick to the knee, Brazil in, flying dropkick . . . misses! Running knee lift from Fulton, Rogers in, dropkicks, more dropkicks, FANTASTIC FLIP . . . only one from Morgan Dollar. Cross body block from Fulton, running knee lift, another crossbody block, dropkick spills Brazil to floor, back inside, Brazil counters a clothesline with one of his own. Both men down. Ringside roaring!

Brazil to his feet . . . FANTASTIC CRADLE (inside cradle) for a one count. Cross body block, Brazil and Fulton both over the top to the floor! Fulton back in first, Brazil follows, Rogers in. PRESS SLAM/SPLASH . . . NOPE! Tag again. . . ROCKET LAUNCHER . . . BRAZIL POWER OUT IMMEDIATELY!!! Rogers with deathjump smash. Tag. Rogers lifts his partner . . .

Fantastics win the tournament and the ULWL Tag Team Titles with a PRESS SLAM/SPLASH to Bobo Brazil.

It was a battle of the makeshift team of singles power wrestlers against the smaller, more agile regular tag team and in the end you can score one for the little guys as the double teaming skills of the Fantastics gave them the upper and lead then to the tag team gold.

Overall
After a slow start the night, the intensity in the last three matches of the night carried the action in the ring, particularly the incredible resilience of Bobo Brazil in the tournament final.
Storyline wise, the Capital City Psycho Circus partnership was short lived in ULWL with Sinn Bodhi leaving his partner Blue Meanie in a heap. No doubt we can expect a singles showdown between the former partners in the near future. The main event for the next card has been set as Lou Thesz confirmed his position as the top contender to the ULWL Title currently held by Jimmy Snuka with a dominating victory over Randy Savage in the co-main event tonight. A defeat like that will not sit will with a competitor as intense as the Macho Man so it will be interesting to see where he goes from here. Speaking of defeats not sitting well, the Road Warriors were last seen tearing apart the dressing room after being bounced from the Title Tournament tonight in the semi-finals. The Warriors are likely still in the title mix but it there is no guarantee that they will be the first team to receive an opportunity at the new champions.
