Awesome edition of PCW cruefan68! My man Sky Low Low getting it done at the front of the card and Giant Baba retains the LOW International Title at the end of a great night of wrestling. I swear, everytime I read this juggernaut of a fed I feel as though I am reading Pro Wrestling Illustrated just like I did back in the day. Freddie Blassie fights teeth and nail but just isn't tough enough to get it done and Giant Baba with resiliency off the charts, risks hemorrhaging but is just too tough to concede!! That was a 6 star match! Hope Baba holds onto that title for a record setting reign. Bring on MSG! To much is never enough my friend. And no worries about posting amigo. We will be in the seats. Thanks for the comments Bri. Glad you enjoyed Baba vs. Blassie. I should explain that I declare a TKO whenever a wrestler reaches the tenth token on the tally sheet. In most cases a move gets them there so I use it as an injury stoppage and the title would in fact have change hands in that case. In this case it was Blassie's biting that landed Baba there and it was a blood stoppage which, like WWWF back in the day, means that the challenger wins but the title remains on the champion. This is the first time that a blood stoppage TKO has happened for me so I had to make the call. Expect Blassie to get a rematch with Baba at some point. As for Sky Low Low, you can never have enough Sky and thanks to LXG for loaning him out to LOW

Really fun show. Curious to see if you changed Swoggle's stats at all (I statted him to face regular sized wrestlers) Thanks TTX. I didn't change Swoggle's stats just went with the way they are written. I don't have any desire to use him against the bigger guys so he will be used exclusively in the same division with Sky and Little Beaver. His stats didn't seem to affect anything and Sky pretty much dominated him. In fact Sky is now 2-0 against Swoggle so it looks like it is safe to use him against Sky and Beaver without making any changes to his stats.

Very interested to see if Blassie is able to secure a rematch after defeating the LOW International champion in such controversial fashion... Especially after losing his cool and mistreating the official after the match was over...
Mr. USA continues to moan about the TV title being stolen from him... Not a very noble attitude if you ask me... As everyone knows, The Mountie is an absolute PARAGON of VIRTUE and is doing a superb job of representing LOW as a fighting champion...
Truly enjoyed this latest installment from the Pacific Coast and still looking forward to the upcoming title match between AJ and Brody...
PHENOMENAL!

I always look forward to your take on the action Pariah. I am working on setting up Baba vs. Blassie II as there should be a rematch. Tony Atlas is griping for sure but that belt was stolen from him by the Canadian lawman As for AJ vs. Brody it's coming up next, I hope you enjoy the action...

10) LOW World Heavyweight title: “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles© defeated Bruiser Brody by DQ to retain the title
Match Highlights: The main event saw “The Phenomenal” AJ Styles put the LOW World Heavyweight title on the line against the imposing challenge of Bruiser Brody. Styles has been known as a “giant killer” of sorts based on his two epic wins over Andre the Giant last year, and he is still the only man in LOW history to hold pinfall wins over Andre. Brody presented a unique challenge in not just size and strength but a penchant for brawling and a willingness to do whatever it takes to win. That was evident early as he battered Styles outside the ring including blasting him with a running big boot knocking the world champion over the ring barrier. Styles regrouped and went to his aerial attack gtwice stunning Brody with the Pele Kick. An attempt at a Starmaker suplex backfired, however, and Brody transitioned into a twisting vertical suplex and rolled over on top of Styles for a two count. Just hen things were looking to pick up the match went back out to the floor where Brody ran Styles head first into the ring post and then delivered a crushing chair shot across the back of the champion. That blow was not waved by the referee and he called for the bell disqualifying Brody which drew jeers from the crowd. Brody confronted the official afterward but did not take any action instead electing to stare down Styles and indicate that he would be back again for another title shot. It was a successful version three defense of the championship for Styles and a very painful one at that.
The LOW World tag team titles were on the line in a battle of fan favorites as the Rock n’ Roll Express (Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) defended the belts against The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers). Before the match could get underway, manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan showed up and demanded to know why The Fantastics were getting a title shot and not his men, Andre the Giant & Big John Studd. Morton addressed “The Brain” and said that The Fantastics were deserving of a shot and they signed the contract first so Andre and Studd would have to wait their turn. Heenan was furious and went to punch Morton but he blocked it and delivered a punch of his own. Then as Heenan staggered to his feet he was met with a quadruple dropkick from the Rock n’ Roll Express and The Fantastics which sent him flying out of the ring! The crowd cheered wildly as Heenan tried to regroup leading to Andre and Studd coming out to ringside only to be met by a wall of LOW officials. They attempted to enter the ring but Heenan managed to corral them and the three left allowing the match to officially get underway.
This was a tag team championship match for the ages as The Fantastics were on point and gave the Express many scary moments. That included an early delivery of the Fantastic Flip on Morton for a near fall. They later hit the Press Slam and Splash combo on Gibson for a big near fall with Morton’s save attempt getting cut off by Rogers. The Express came back with some nice offense of their own showing that in no way were they going to relinquish the titles that easily. The give and take between the two sides had the crowd on the edge of their seats. The finish came in surprising fashion as Fulton, after executing the Fantastic Cradle for another near fall, went for a backdrop off the ropes but Gibson executed a slick Counter Cradle Hold and scored the pin to retain the titles. It was a successful version two title defense for the Rock n’ Roll Express who no doubt faced a strong challenge from The Fantastics. All four men shook hands post-match drawing more cheers from the crowd.
A big grudge match saw Rob Van Dam take on The Sheik who was accompanied by his manager Abdullah Farouk. The Sheik, a record five-time LOW International Heavyweight champion, viciously assaulted RVD on a recent broadcast of LOW All-Star Wrestling after RVD had been hounding Farouk asking for a match. It turns out that RVD was trained by The Sheik and upon signing with the CWA sought out a match with his mentor in order to prove himself. He did all that and more in this match as he gained some revenge with a blistering assault on the madman from Syria. RVD hit the Five Star Frog Splash early but only got a two count due to a late cover. He kept up his attack hitting the controversial chair-assisted Van Daminator prompting Farouk to argue with the referee. The Sheik was busted open and nearly pinned with Rolling Thunder but Farouk provided a distraction. RVD then decked the manager and went back to work hitting a second Van Daminator on the bloody Sheik. This time, however, the referee did not wave it off and instead disqualified RVD snake eyes style giving The Sheik a rare technical victory.
The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg Valentine) hit the ring jumping RVD post-match and holding him down as The Sheik busted him open with what looked like a screwdriver. Farouk, having recovered from being decked by RVD, instructed his men to continue the beatdown but that was stopped when the Valiant Brothers (Jimmy & Johnny Valiant) ran in to make the save. They drove The Sheik, Beefcake and Valentine to the outside drawing cheers from the crowd. Afterward they helped up the bloody RVD and took him to the back where Farouk, irate over what happened, demanded a match between the two sides. LOW Commissioner Charlie Cox had no problem with that and set up a trios match for the next CWA card in Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Card #1223) where it will be RVD and the Valiant Brothers taking on The Sheik and the Dream Team.
Earlier, the Valiant Brothers (“Handsome” Jimmy Valiant & “Luscious” Johnny Valiant) took on the Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake & Greg Valentine) in a highly anticipated tag team encounter. Both teams have been on a roll of late especially the Dream Team since coming under the tutelage of their new manager Abdullah Farouk. It was all Valiant Brothers early as they got the heat on Beefcake using quick tags and some punishing moves. Beefcake managed a counter on Johnny leading to a tag and that set the Dream Team in the right direction. Beefcake nearly put Johnny out with the Sleeper Hold but he just got to the ropes for a break. The Valiants came back and hit the Super Elbow on Valentine but Farouk distracted the referee preventing a pin. The irate official then ejected Farouk from ringside much to the delight of the crowd. To their credit the Dream Team managed to overcome the loss of their manager and took out their aggression on Johnny who was busted open after a run into the guard rail. Johnny battled back from the blood loss, even surviving a big clothesline from Beefcake, and made the tag. Jimmy did a good job of battling for his team but with Johnny incapacitated he was left vulnerable. Valentine took advantage of that and caught Jimmy in the Figure Four Leglock for a submission victory as Beefcake held a bloody Johnny down in the corner. It was a huge win for the Dream Team which no doubt pleased Farouk as he watched from a monitor backstage.
In other action…
Steve “Dr. Death” Williams took on his former tag team partner the “Million $ Man’ Ted Dibiase, who was accompanied by his bodyguard Virgil, in singles action. It was a decade ago that Williams and Dibiase teamed up in LOW and had a torrid rivalry with the Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) during which they became two-time LOW World tag team champions. Both men have come a long way since with Williams enjoying a third tag team title reign with Terry Gordy while Dibiase increased his wealth and changed his attitude for the worse some would say. This was a great back and forth battle that got really heated in the closing moments. Virgil wound up getting involved as he decked Williams in the back of the head during a battle outside while Dibiase had the referee distracted. Dibiase then went for the kill with the Cobra Clutch but somehow Williams fought his way out of the submission hold. Williams was spent, though, and Dibiase followed with a Vertical Suplex and floated over into the cover to score the pin.
Hacksaw Jim Duggan joined forces with the Killer Bees (Brian Blair & Jim Brunzell) to take on New Age Horsemen members “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Tully Blanchard & Curt Hennig in trios action. Manager J.J. Dillon was in the corner of the Horsemen and had some choice words for the opposition during the introductions but quickly backed down when Duggan raised his 2x4. Duggan and the Bees were dominant early as they isolated Rude and kept him on the defensive. Quick tags and a nice double elbow smash by the Bees had Rude in serious trouble before he managed to tag out. The Horsemen took over not long after and wound up assaulting Duggan outside the ring. That set up a controversial finish as Hennig caught the dazed Duggan with a Rolling Neck Snap and reversed course cradling his legs and grabbing the ropes for extra leverage on a snake eyes pin. Duggan was irate post-match and grabbed his 2x4 with the Bees joining him in chasing the victorious Horsemen out of the ring.
Three-time LOW World Heavyweight champion Bobo Brazil had his hands full as he took on “The Punishment” Damien Martinez, formerly of the Army of Darkness. Without someone like Kevin Sullivan to guide him, Martinez has been unleashed on the CWA but not having that guidance that could also cost him as evidenced here. Martinez tried to jump Brazil at ringside but the popular veteran star quickly turned the tables. Brazil went on a strong offensive and nearly won it by submission with a bearhug. Martinez battled back and went for a one-armed side slam but Brazil countered out and delivered a third Coco Butt of the match to score the pin. It was an impressive victory for Brazil but there is no question that “The Punishment” is going to be one to watch especially if he can be reined in perhaps by a new manager.
A real battle of hosses saw Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy take on Big John Studd. Manager Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Andre the Giant accompanied Studd to the ring, but the referee insisted that security escort Andre to the back before the match got underway. Andre refused at first but listened to Heenan and left after shoving the five security team members to the ground. Studd overpowered Gordy early scoring two counts with a throat drop on the ropes and a clothesline. Gordy fought back with some real force rocking Studd including executing a Power Bomb for a near fall. Heenan looked worried at ringside when Gordy dominated the action out on the floor. Gordy then trapped Studd in the Oriental Spike and that prompted Heenan to get involved as he jumped up on the ring apron. Gordy released the hold to chase after “The Brain” but that proved to be a huge mistake as he was counted out of the ring resulting in a victory for Studd.
The undefeated Barry Windham took on “The Enforcer” CW Anderson of the New Age Horsemen in a highly anticipated one-on-one matchup. Anderson, accompanied by his manager J.J. Dillon, really impressed as he dominated for a good stretch battering Windham with moves like the Anderson left hand and the Spinebuster. He also escaped defeat when Windham hit the Lariat and Sweetwater Suplex. Windham then applied a figure four leglock prompting Dillon to interfere. Windham released the hold and chased after the manager giving Anderson a chance to regain control. The closing moments were intense with Windham hitting a powerslam for a near fall and Anderson delivering another Spinebuster just before the bell rang. The official decision was a time limit draw.
The opening contested presented courtesy of LOW All-Star Wrestling saw “Leaping” Lanny Poffo & Ron Hutchison take on the KJ Hill-led team of Timber, “The Insane Lumberjack” & Savage-T. Timber and Savage-T are a new pairing that are billing themselves as the “Carolina Connection”, representing both North and South Carolina. Timber, a former LOW Tex-Arkana Television champion, was extremely impressive match including hitting the Moonsault. There were a few near falls as well with Poffo hitting the Sky Drop and Savage-T the Vertibreaker. It was Hutchison who won it for his team when he caught Savage-T with an Olympic Roll Up to score the pin.
CWA Top 10 Rankings:
1) Bruiser Brody 2) Bobo Brazil 3) The Sheik 4) Ted Dibiase 5) Rick Rude 6) Rob Van Dam 7) Curt Hennig 8) Tully Blanchard 9) Barry Windham 10) Hacksaw Jim Duggan
* current champions not included in rankings

Great to see AJ holding his own against such an unorthodox challenger, but the technical finish was a little disappointing... Thinking a Brody vs Styles rematch could generate a whole lot of interest and hoping to see this somewhere down the line...
Also pretty shocking that The Sheik managed to pick up a technical victory - Guess when you're dealing with two extreme personalities like him and RVD, nothing should be surprising... This has all the makings of a classic feud and cannot wait to see them lock horns once again...
The Rn'R Express and Fantastics delivered an exciting title match... But, I don't think I'm the only one that is looking forward to Andre and Big John getting a crack at the tag straps...
Another absolutely awesome show, my friend... Excellent work!

The refs were rather busy, shame Brody vs Styles ended in a dq.

Your Madison Square Garden shows cruefan68 never, ever dissapoint! A whole lot of action and a whole lot of developments coming from this card for sure. Awesome to see A.J. retain - although it was a dq win, I still think he would have retained the title in a non dq match against Brody. Brody would have messed him up real bad, but Styles would have fought through it. As Pariah mentioned, The Sheik vs RVD feud looks like its just at the tip of the iceberg. Better have the paramedics on speed dial for that rematch. Andre & Studd going for the LOW World Tag Team Titles is inevitable. I'm not sure what I would rather pull for first - The Rock And Roll Express to somehow survive that, even via a technical victory or - Andre & Studd to win the belts. If they win the belts, that could be one seriously savage record setting reign. You'd have to isolate Studd in the ring and incapacitate Heenan somehow. My mind boggles at the thought of this one and its fallout. Also, if Brody want's a rematch, I hope Styles grants it. He's got this, Brody is shorter than Andre 😊 Barry Windham still undefeated technically. That's awesome. The Voodoo that Youdoo Continues! P.S. Look forward to Sky's antics in this institution of wrestling called LOW. The LXG is just an institution at best lol. Which brand is on deck my man? Too much LOW is never enough.

I know someone was sweating bullets going into Brody's title shot with the Phenomenal One. (I'm looking at you Pariah ) The DQ outcome sets up a nice rematch and possible feud, so things worked out well IMO. The Sheik/RVD match was violent as expected but the highlight for me was the RNR vs Fantastics babyface contest.
