I've got a question concerning the standings in football. When sports broadcast show the season standings of a team in a championship game (i.e., the Super Bowl), does the post-season standings of a division championship team count towards their total win-loss record, or are they just showing the regular season standings. For example, assume a 16-week regular season. 14 weeks are devoted to the regular season. The 15th week is devoted to the X and Y division championship games, and the final week being devoted the championship game: Row 1 column 1 | REGULAR SEASON WINS | REGULAR SEASON LOSSES | REGULAR SEASON TIES | POST-SEASON WINS | POST-SEASON LOSSES | X Division Champions TEAM A | 8 | 5 | 1 | 1 | 0 | Y Division Champions TEAM B | 12 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 0 |
Does TEAM A's record stand at 9-5-1 while TEAM B's record stands at 13-1-1 when displaying the teams' records, or are they still displayed as 8-5-1 and 12-1-1 respectively

W/L records usually only refer to the regular season.

But the playoffs, on tv they do add playoff games on the record when they show the two teams before the game. I don't like it, the record doesn't mean anything once the playoffs are underway and there's no reason to show it.

Thanks, guys. That'll give me something to go on when I get ready to play the 2019 American Summer Football League Landry Bowl. The Eastern Division championship has already been recorded, and I'm currently in the second quarter of the Western Division championship game. No spoilers as to who's appearing in those games or the Landry Bowl, though. Sorry about that. I must keep the mystery since I'm only posting one set of games per week in order to give myself time to fully play out the head to head play by plays for all three championship games.
