"Wild" Bull Curry & Dutch Savage w/Mr. Fuji beat "Wild" Bill White & Ron Hutchison when Savage pinned Hutchison with RUNNING PILEDRIVER. White & Hutchison gave Curry & Savage all they could handle in this back and forth match, but Fuji's team of "Wild & Savage" came out on top in the end!
Abdullah The Butcher w/Bobby Heenan beat Crusher w/Sandman in a Last Man Standing Match. Abdullah had Crusher coughing up blood with karate thrust to throat. Abdullah stayed on the attack and later put Crusher down for the 10-count with another karate thrust to the throat!
Big Guys(Big Van Vader & Miracle Violence Connection: Terry Gordy & Steve Williams) beat Steve Regal & Pretty Playboys(Buddy Rose & Doug Somers)w/Sherri Martel when Vader pinned Somers with RELEASED POERBOMB. After the match, Ted DiBiase, Johnny Valentine & Jackie Fargo from Million Dollar Corporation challenged Big Guys to a match next week. Not only did they accept, but Teddy Long announced the winner will get a Six-Man Tag Team Title shot at Gateway To Glory!
Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan are at their backstage Gorilla Position commenting on the action when they go to Gary Michael Cappetta to introduce Jim Duggan vs. Eddie Gilbert. During the introductions, Gilbert tried to attack Duggan with a chair, but "Hacksaw" blocked it with his 2x4. Duggan grabbed the chair and smashed "Hot Stuff" with it as they brawled outside the ring. Duggan won the brawl and threw Gilbert into the ring as the referee called for the bell to start the match!
Jim Duggan pinned Eddie Gilbert with FLYING SPEAR. "Hacksaw" had his way with "Hot Stuff"!
Bill Apter's Press Conference: Tully Blanchard points to Apter's rankings and feels that he is owed a Jr. Heavyweight Title shot against Gorgeous George. Blanchard says he's a former champion who lost the title to 2 Cold Scorpio on a fluke, and George beat Scorpio for the title before Blanchard could get a rematch. Teddy Long tells Blanchard that he'll have a #1 Contender Match next week against another former Jr. Heavyweight Champ, George's Flamboyant Ones partner, Adrian Street. Winner gets a title shot at Gateway To Glory!
Harley Race & Randy Savage w/Angelo Poffo & Mr. Hughes beat Gorilla Monsoon & Thunderbolt Patterson when Savage pinned Monsoon with FLYING ELBOW SMASH. Monsoon left his backstage Gorilla Position to join his Hall Of fame teammate for this match. Race & Savage dominated Patterson who was able to tag Monsoon. Then Race & Savage dominated Monsoon. Race & Savage make a great team!
Gordon Solie interviews Young Guns Tournament winner, and Tennessee native, Mance Warner. The "Southern Psycho" gives a passionate interview about challenging his hero, Stan Hansen, for the Hardcore Title in his home state. Warner is really fired up for this match, and so are the fans!
Hardcore Champion Stan Hansen pinned a bloody Mance Warner with LARIAT. Warner started off strong with springboard DDT off chair and springboard DDT off ref. Hansen made a comeback by choking Warner with a bullrope and hitting him with the rope's cowbell before finishing him off with LARIAT. Bobby Heenan came out and challenged Hansen to give Abdullah The Butcher a rematch for the Hardcore Title at Gateway To Glory. Hansen accepted and spit chewing tobacco in Heenan's face!
National Tag Team Champions British Bulldogs(Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith)w/Lou Albano beat Northeast-Southwest Connection(Adrian Adonis & Manny Fernandez)w/Jimmy Hart when Dynamite pinned Fernandez with DIVING HEADBUTT. After the match, British Bulldogs announced that they will defend the National Tag Team Titles next week in an open challenge against any tag team in Rebel Wrestling!
Lou Thesz w/Dr. Mike Lano pinned a bloody Buddy Rogers w/J.J. Dillon with GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP. Dick Woehrle was assigned to referee this match in an attempt to stop any possible interference from Dillon & Four Horsemen. Thesz was in control from bell to bell, and he easily defeats the "Nature Boy" to challenge World Champion Bruiser Brody in the Main Event at Gateway To Glory--from Thesz' hometown of St. Louis, Missouri--only on pay-per-view!

Dixie Divas Champion Fabulous Moolah w/Bobby Heenan pinned Princess Victoria with JACKKNIFE CRADLE. This was an easy win for Moolah. After the match, former champ Mildrd Burke challenges Moolah to a title match at Gateway To Glory, and Moolah accepts!
Bobby Heenan joins Gorilla Monsoon at their backstage Gorilla Position. Heenan says, "Burke just made the biggest mistake of her life!". Monsoon says, "This next match is a main event anywhere in the country!".
Rock 'n' Soul Connection(Ric McCord & Koko B. Ware)w/Disco Inferno beat Big Bully Busick & Johnny Rodz when McCord pinned Rodz with FLYING BODYPRESS. Busick & Rodz attacked Disco after they lost a Six-Man Tag Team Match last week, and Rock 'n' Soul saved him. Disco challenged Busick & Rodz to face Rock 'n' Soul this week. Now, Disco challenges Rodz to a 1-on-1 match next week, and Busick accepts for Rodz!
Vintage Rules Championship Tournament Finals: #1: Frank Gotch submitted #2: Great Gama with GOTCH TOEHOLD to become the first Rebel Wrestling Vintage Rules Champion. Gotch was congratulated by John Pesek, Ed Lewis & Evan Lewis. Gotch announces that they're forming a group called Pioneers Of Wrestling with Ed & Evan forming a tag team called Stranglers. Gotch says POW will take over Rebel Wrestling!
Flying Redheads(Red Bastien & Billy Red Lyons)w/Dr. Mike Lano beat Impact Players(Steve Corino & Justin Credible)w/Francine when Lyons pinned Credible with a top rope crossbody block. Redheads cut the ring in half so Credible couldn't tag Corino. Flying Redheads had their way with Credible, and now they'll challenge Jr. Heavyweight Champions Jack & Jerry Brisco at Gateway To Glory from St. Louis, Missouri--only on pay-per-view!
The backstage camera shows Great Gama, George Hackenschmidt, William Muldoon, Jim Londos & George Tragos. Gama announces that they're forming a group to stop Pioneers Of Wrestling from taking over Rebel Wrestling. Hackenschmidt says that unlike Frank Gotch with POW, this group won't have a leader. Muldoon says that they're all perfect physical specimens. Londos says that's why they'll be known as Athletic Show. Tragos says he'll team with Londos as Golden Greeks to fight Stranglers(Ed Lewis & Evan Lewis)!
Roddy Piper w/Jimmy Hart submitted a bloody Television Champion Larry Zbyszko w/J.J. Dillon with SLEEPER to win the title. Zbyszko was in control until Piper busted him open with FOREIGN OBJECT before locking on SLEEPER to win the TV Title!

The show opens with Dick Hutton in the ring. He offers $1,000 to any Vintage Rules wrestler that can beat him in a Vintage Rules Match. Vintage Rules Champion Frank Gotch comes out and tells Hutton that he'll face the enforcers of Pioneers Of Wrestling--the "Nebraska Tiger Man" John Pesek!
Dick Hutton submitted John Pesek with ABDOMINAL STRETCH in a Vintage Rules Match. Hutton keeps his $1,000 by beating the enforcer of Vintage Rules Champion Frank Gotch's Pioneers Of Wrestling(POW)!
"Wild" Bull Curry & Dutch Savage w/Mr. Fuji beat Wild & Crazy Guys(Al Snow & Hugh Morrus) when Savage pinned a heavily bleeding Morrus with RUNNING PILEDRIVER in a back and forth match. After the match, Fuji called out Hardcore Tag Team Champions Executioners(Ox Baker & Killer Kowalski). Fuji wants them to dump their manager Paul Elllering and sign with him. They say that Ellering earned their respect when they wrestled his Legion Of Doom teams. That's why they joined LOD when Masked Superstar & Spoiler turned on Ellering so they tell Fuji to stick his offer where the Rising Sun doesn't shine! A furious Fuji challenges Executioners to defend the Hardcore Tag Team Titles against Curry & Savage at Gateway To Glory, and they accept!
15-Man Battle Royal: Winner challenges Television Champion Roddy Piper at Gateway To Glory! Larry Zbyszko eliminated James Storm & Dan Severn. Thunderbolt Patterson eliminated Don Curtis when Zbyszko moved out of the way. Patterson was eliminated when he accidentally crashed into Curtis, and they both went over the top rope. Axe Attack(Larry & Curt Hennig)w/Bobby Heenan beat Bob Orton & Bob Orton Jr. w/Mr. Fuji when a bloody Curt Hennig pinned a bloody Bob Orton Jr. with HENNIG PLEX. This was a back and forth match between 2 great father-son duos, but the Hennigs got the better of the Ortons!
Bobby Heenan joins Gorilla Monsoon at their backstage Gorilla Position. Heenan wants to brag about the impressive win by his Heenan Family, but Monsoon goes to Gordon Solie who's standing by with Harley Race & Randy Savage. Solie asks them about their ability to work well as a team when they fought each other earlier this year. Savage says there's mutual respet between them because they're a lot alike. Race praises manager Angelo Poffo for recognizing that he's on the same level as Savage--despite Savage being Poffo's son. Race accuses former manager Bobby Heenan of favoring Nick Bockwinel, ray Stevens & Hennigs over him. Savage challenges Bockwinkel & Stevens to a match next week. The Heenan Family comes out to accept, but Solie says, "We're out of time. Let's go to Bill Apter's Press Conference.".
Bill Apter's Press Conference: Apter tries to interview King Kong Bundy, but Masked Superstar attacks Bundy, and a brawl erupts! Teddy Long comes out and makes an impromptu match between the former partners and now enemies!
Masked Superstar w/Rock Riddle submitted a bloody King Kong Bundy w/Paul Ellering with COBRA HOLD. Superstar wins a one-sided match against his former Legion Of Doom partner. Another former Legion Of Doom member, and current Masked Assassins teammate of Superstar, The Spoiler comes out and says that he wants Bundy next week--because it looks so easy!

Disco gets payback on the men who attacked him after losing a Six-Man Tag Team Match 2 weeks ago. Now, Busick & Rodz get into a shoving match, and they start brawling until security separates them!
Long Riders(Scott "Hog" Irwin & "Wild" Bill Irwin)w/James Storm beat The Patriot & Ranger Ross when Scott Irwin pinned Patriot with SUPERPLEX. Patriot had Bill Irwin pinned, but Storm distracted the referee so Scott Irwin could interfere. Long Riders took over and went on to beat Patriot & Ross from Team America!

They're mad that both Pioneers Of Wrestling & Athletic Show didn't ask them to join either team last week. Ismail says they're forming their own group--The Terrible Trio--with Fenton & Irslinger as a tag team. Solie says Fenton & Irslinger remind him of an old TV show about a slob & a neat freak who were roommates called "The Odd Couple". Fenton laughs and says that's the perfect name for their tag team--Odd Couple. Irslinger challenges Great Gama, George Hackenschmidt & William Muldoon of Athletic Show to face Terrible Trio next week!

Dick Hutton submitted George Tragos with ABDOMINAL STRETCH in a Vintage Rules Match. Tragos backed Hutton into the turnbuckle, but Hutton slipped behind Tragos for a waistlock throw. Hutton quickly locked on ABDOMINAL STRETCH to get a quick win. Who will answer his $1,000 Vintage Rules open challenge next week?
Powers Of Pain(Barbarian & Warlord)w/Mr. Fuji beat Pitbulls(Pitbull #1 & Pitbull #2)w/Francine in a Hardcore Match when POP hit ELEVATED CLOTHESLINE on Pitbull #2. This was a back and forth match that was fought in and out of the ring, and Powers Of Pain beat Pitbulls at their own game--a Hardcore Match!
Susan Green pinned Ida Mae Martinez with TEXAS BULLDOG. Martinez started off strong, but the "Cowgirl" quickly made a comeback to make short work of the "Yodeling Lady"!

King Kong Bundy w/Paul Ellering pinned The Spoiler w/Rock Riddle with ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE. Spoiler got a few quick near-falls because of his pre-match assault, but Bundy made a big comeback. He squashed his former Legion Of Doom teammate Spoiler with ATLANTIC CITY AVALANCHE for a 3-count--make that a 5-count!

Gordon Solie & "Progressive Liberal" Daniel Richards welcome viewers to historic Kiel Auditorium in St. Louis, Missouri, for Sunday Superstar Wars. Tonight's show is the pre-show to the Gateway To Glory pay-per-view!
Johnny Rodz pinned Big Bully Busick with SHOULDERBREAKER. These former partners got into it last week when they both lost matches to Disco Inferno. Busick controlled the first half of the match, but Rodz made a big comeback to get the win as fans cheered for what they think was an "Unpredictable" win!
Athletic Show(Great Gama, George Hackenschmidt & William Muldoon) beat Terrible Trio("Terrible Turk" Yusuf Ismail & Odd Couple: Rod Fenton & Henry Irslinger) in a Vintage Rules Match when Gama pinned Fenton with GAMA THROW. All 3 members of Athletic Show had their way with both members of Odd Couple while Ismail--who this "terrible" trio was named after--was forced to stand on the apron and watch because Athletic Show prevented him from tagging in!
Madison Rayne w/Candi Divine pinned Trish Stratus w/New Age Outlaws(Val Venis & James Gang: B.G. & Kip James) with RAYNE CHECK. Rayne challenged Stratus to this match when Stratus beat Rayne's Divine Rayne partner Candi Divine last week. Stratus laughed when she accepted the challenge, but she wasn't laughing tonight. This was a back and forth match, but the "Queen Bee" emerged victorious!
Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan are at their backstage Gorilla Position commenting on the action when they cut to a promo by Kurt Angle & Bob Backlund who will challenge Road Warriors for the World Tag Team Titles tonight on pay-per-view. Bill Apter asks them if they'll accept Monsoon's offer to join his Hall Of Fame team. Backlund says it would be an honor to join Monsoon, Thunderbolt Patterson, Dan Severn & Don Curtis. Angle says any team he joins has to have the 3 I's--Intensity, Integrity & Intelligence. Backlund says they'll have an answer for Monsoon after they win the World Tag Team Titles. Angle says, "Oh, it's true! It's damn true!".
Dan Severn & Don Curtis beat Baron Von Raschke & Fritz Von Goering w/Eddie Gilbert when Curtis submitted a heavily bleeding Von Raschke with SLEEPER. Gilbert tried to interfere on behalf of his Hot Stuff International team, but Curtis clotheslined him over the top rope and onto the floor. Curtis went on to get the win for his Hall Of Fame team!
Vintage Rules Champion Frank Gotch submitted a bloody Jim Londos with GOTCH TOEHOLD. This was a one-sided match, and the Vintage Rules Champion showed everyone why he calls himself the "Peerless One"!

Rebel Wrestling Gateway To Glory: St. Louis Arena--St. Louis, Missouri
Six-Man Tag Team Champions Masked Assassins(Grappler & Texas Hangmen: Killer & Psycho)w/Rock Riddle beat Big Guys(Big Van Vader & Miracle Violence Connection: Terry Gordy & Steve Williams) when Grappler pinned a bloody Gordy with LOADED BOOT. Vader dominated Hangmen to start the match, but when he tagged out, Hangmen dominated Gordy & Williams. Angelo Poffo & Mr. Hughes came out to ringside and got Vader's attention. He joined them on the floor at the same time Grappler busted open Gordy with LOADED BOOT, and Williams made the save. Hughes handed a briefcase to Vader who opened it and smiled. Vader closed the briefcase and walked away with Poffo & Hughes as Grappler pinned Gordy with another LOADED BOOT, and Williams was in disbelief that Vader walked out on them!
Jimmy Snuka w/Lou Albano pinned a heavily bleeding Television Champion Roddy Piper w/Jimmy Hart with SUPERFLY LEAP to win the title. This was a back and forth match, but "Superfly" was became the first 2-time TV Champion despite interference & distractions by Hart. Gordon Solie tried to interview Snuka after the match, but he was ambushed by Piper. Snuka won the brawl, and Piper is injured for 4 fight cards!
4-Way Elimination Match: Dixie Divas Tag Team Champions Soul Sistas(Melina & Jazz)w/Jim Cornette beat Southern Belles(Rockin Robin & Joyce Grable) when Jazz submitted Robin with BITCH CLAMP. Dixie Divas Tag Team Champions Soul Sistas(Melina & Jazz)w/Jim Cornette beat Femme Fatales(Toni Rose & Beverly Shade) when Jazz submitted Rose with STF. Dixie Divas Tag Team Champions Soul Sistas(Melina & Jazz)w/Jim Cornette beat Glamour Girls(Leilani Kai & Judy Martin)w/Jimmy Hart when Melina pinned Martin with LAST CALL. Soul Sistas(melina & Jazz) beat all 3 former Dixie Divas Tag Team Champions in one match!
A bloody Dixie Divas Champion Fabulous Moolah w/Bobby Heenan pinned Mildred Burke with JACKKNIFE CRADLE. Burke was in complete control, but young starstruck referee Joey Marella had a slow count. Burke had Moolah pinned with ALLIGATOR CLUTCH, but Heenan slipped a foreign object to Moolah who decked Burke with it! Marella didn't see it, and Moolah went on to win. As Burke left the ring, she was approached by Angelo Poffo & Mr. Hughes. Poffo whispered in her ear and offered his arm. She smiled and took his arm. They walked to the back arm-in-arm with Hughes following them. What is Angelo Poffo up to?
Wild & Savage("Wild" Bull Curry & Dutch Savage)w/Mr. Fuji beat Hardcore Tag Team Champions Executioners(Ox Baker & Killer Kowalski)w/Paul Ellering to win the titles when Curry pinned Baker after SERIES OF PUNCHES. This was a back and forth match that was fought in and out of the ring. Curry & Savage were both bleeding by the end of the match, but they were able to get the better of Baker & Kowalski to win the Hardcore Tag Team Titles!
Abdullah The Butcher w/Bobby Heenan pinned Hardcore Champion Stan Hansen with SUDANESE MEAT CLEAVER to regain the title and become a 3-time Hardcore Champion. Hansen dominated the first half of the match when he busted open Abdullah with LARIAT. Abdullah later made Hansen bleed by repeatedly stabbing him with a foreign object. Both men were heavily leeding when Abdullah pinned Hansen, and they had to be taken to separate hospitals for treatment!
Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Brisco Brothers(Jack & Jerry Brisco) beat Flying Redheads(Red Bastien & Billy Red Lyons)w/Dr. Mike Lano when Jack Brisco submitted Lyons with FIGURE FOUR LEGLOCK. This was a back and forth match where the fans cheered for both teams who left it all in the ring. Jerry Brisco, Bastien & Lyons were all heavily bleeding and had to be taken to the hospital to stitch up their open wounds!
Jr. Heavyweight Champion Gorgeous George w/Cherie Dupre submitted his Flamboyant Ones partner Adrian Street with SPINNING TOE HOLD. Street won a #1 Contender Match to get a title shot against his partner George. They promised this match wouldn't ruin their friendship, and it didn't because referee Dick Woehrle ruled that Street tapped out when Street claimed that he was trying to reach the ropes to break SPINNING TOE HOLD. George & Street confronted Woehrle after the match. They insulted him & shoved him, but he shoved them back! Woehrle told ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta that he was changing his decision to a double disqualification because George & Street shoved an official. Woehrle is an old school official who gets fed up with flagrant rule infractions so his official decision for this match is a double disqualification!
National Tag Team Champions Original Midnight Express(Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose)w/Sherri Martel beat British Bulldogs(Dynamite Kid & Davey Boy Smith)w/Lou Albano and Rock 'n' Roll Express(Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson) in a 3-Way Match when Condrey pinned Smith after HUMAN COUGH DROP with Rose. Both Smith & Dynamite were heavily bleeding by the end of this back and forth match. "Mr. Electricity" Steve Regal & Pretty Playboys("Playboy" Buddy Rose & "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers) came out to congratulate "Loverboy" Dennis & "Ravishing" Randy. Martel said, "I'm the luckiest woman in Rebel Wrestling because I'm surrounded by these handsome hunks. I'm also the sexiest woman in Rebel Wrestling. That's why my team will now be known as...Sex Symbols!".
Bobo Brazil w/Dr. Mike Lano pinned a heavily bleeding National Champion Barry Windham w/J.J. Dillon with COCO BUTT to win the title. The match started with Windham attacking Brazil during Gary Michael Cappetta's introductions. Windham threw Brazil out of the ring and gave chase, but he tripped over Lano who was crouched down at ringside! Brazil threw Windham back in the ring and busted him open with repeated COCO BUTTS. Windham's Four Horsemen allies circled the ring. While the referee was dealing with Tully Blanchard & Larry Zbyszko, Buddy Rogers attacked Brazil from behind. The referee ejected the Horsemen from ringside, and Windham tried to take advantage of the situation. He threw Brazil out of the ring, but Brazil dragged Windham out of the ring and smashed him into the ringpost. Brazil threw Windham back into the ring for another COCO BUTT and the 1-2-3 to win the National Title!
World Tag Team Champions Road Warriors(Hawk & Animal)w/Paul Ellering beat Kurt Angle & Bob Backlund with DOOMSDAY DEVICE on a bloody Backlund. Gorilla Monsoon & his Hall Of Fame(Thunderbolt Patterson, Dan Severn & Don Curtis) were at ringside. Backlund could've tagged Angle, but he tried to beat Road Warriors by himself. After the match, Angle said, "We could be champs if you would've just tagged me, but you wanted to impress Monsoon's Hall Of Losers. I only associate with winners!". Angle left the ring as HOF tended to Backlund. A cameraman followed Angle backstage where he walked into a room that was guarded by Mr. Hughes who stopped the cameraman from entering the room!
Gordon Solie interviews St. Louis' own Lou Thesz before his World Title Match with Bruiser Brody. Thesz promises a clean 1-on-1 match with no outside interference. He hopes to make his hometown proud, and he says may the best man win!
Lou Thesz w/Dr. Mike Lano pinned World Champion Bruiser Brody with GRECO-ROMAN BACKDROP to win the title. Referee James Beard handed the belt to Thesz who shook Brody's hand. Suddenly, Harley Race & Randy Savage attacked Thesz & Brody from behind! Thesz's ally Bobo Brazil and Brody's allies Terry Gordy & Steve Williams hit the ring, but they were attacked from behind by Kurt Angle, Big Van Vader & Mr. Hughes! Thesz, Brody, and their allies were all left laying in a pool of their own blood when Angelo Poffo & Mildred Burke entered the ring. Poffo said, "I told you it was a crime that Harley Race & Randy Savage weren't on this pay-per-view. I told you it was a crime that they weren't in the Main Event. I told you someone was gonna pay. Look at this carnage. This is what happens when you cross us. This is what happens when you cross the...Main Event Mafia!". Lou Thesz wins the World Title in his hometown at Gateway To Glory, but Main Event Mafia just turned it into Gateway To Gory!
