With Impact being moved to 10PM Thursdays on POP TV. The Fight Network is following suit. Due to the change, SMASH Wrestling which recently got expanded to 90 minutes at 10PM on the Fight Network is moving to 8:30PM which will make it the lead into Impact Wrestling at 10PM
As a long time fan of SMASH Wrestling I couldn't be happier for the men and women who work their rears off for that promotion.
I wonder how much longer POP will keep Impact with the new move.

I have not seen much of Smash but I like what I know about them and so hope this helps draw more interest in them.
I wonder if the switch was to keep Pop from losing viewers/numbers. I mean if people are watching at same time on The Fight Network now I would think they would be same people watching if different time as Pop. I do not see people going to try and watch early on TFN and thus not watching on Pop. If anything I think the move might prove my theory. Impact is moving out of 8-10PM on Thursdays of course due to way too much competition right now but also they are planning on getting a bit more edgy. They were in prime time with more limits then night programming. I think Impact leaders are finally realizing Matt Hardy was right a couple years ago when he said with programs like Breaking Bad and Walking Dead being the popular hit shows that wrestling needs to change and be more like them. This doesn't mean a lot of swearing or sexuality but deeper characters and more adult topics. Thus some swearing and innuendo plus a bit more violence. We shall see starting this week and over next few if I am right or not.

I read that last night's episode of Impact, the first in their new time slot, resulted in only 98,000 views compared to 189,000 views the week before. That is almost a 50% drop.

Yea they are in a tough place right now. Too much competition at 8PM on Thursdays and late time is not good. Hopefully after Smackdown moves days Impact can move to Tuesdays. The silver lining is their demo stayed same and even though low they were still in Top 150 for day.
