Shame, I'd have liked to see Gordy have a longer reign but Rogers is always tough. Fun to see Tug Taylor win and love the oddball team of DDP and Jannetty.

Really enjoyed seeing both Chaz and Tugboat emerge victorious in their solo efforts... And really looking forward to the younger Taylor's upcoming match against The Destroyer... A win there would certainly help his future in MLW... But, it certainly won't be easy... Fun stuff, as always!

Jannetty struggled early on but was able to get Dr. Mike Lano involved in the match when the photographer got into between the competitors and Jannetty gave him a shove into Daivari. Jannetty controlled for a while but could not put away Daivari. Daivari made an impressive comeback and at one point hit his WMD not once but back to back. The fans thought it was over but Jannetty was able to get a shoulder up and the action continued. Daivari hit his finisher a third time and it was still not enough to put the rocker away. A DDT out of nowhere stopped Daivari cold and opened the door for an offensive flurry from Jannetty. Jannetty attacked with everything he had for several minutes. The superkicks and dropkicks rocked the fans and lead to a Rocker Dropper but when Dollar went to hit the mat for the third time, the shoulder was up. The fans could not believe it but Jannetty continued his attack. Daivari was able to counter a backdrop with a piledriver and things evened out. Both men starting missing moves from exhaustion but Daivari scored with an impressive standing dropkick and then connected with forth WMD to advance into the second round. The Valentines bested The Armstrongs. The Valentines came to the ring looking very focused and clearly out to get their win back. Greg Valentine struggles however from the outset against a game “Bullet” Bob Armstrong but manages to counter attack with a series of Valentine Chops before planting Armstrong with a cobra clutch suplex. Johnny Valentine unleashed three atomic skullcrushers in a row but Armstrong was able to kick out of two of them and his son saved him from the third. Valentine then locked in a sleeper before hitting a forearm hammer that dropped Armstrong to the mat yet again. Greg Valentine prevented the pin save and Johnny Valentine picked up the three count.
Ivan Koloff came back against Terry Gordy. Koloff gets under the skin of Morgan Dollar early on threating the official with his chain before the bell even sounds. The fans were solidly behind Gordy from the outset and loved it when Koloff tripped over Dr. Mike Lano crouched down at ringside. Albano was able to strike back with some chokes and throat chops but could not maintain any momentum. Albano did kick out after an anchor drop which was impressive but he was clearly outmatched tonight and took the shortcut of using a chair during a brawl on the floor which cost him the match via disqualification. Malia Hosaka stunned Jazz. No one in the building thought Hosaka stood a chance going into the this one but the fans got behind the native of Hawaii from the outset. Hosaka was able to avoid Jazz in the early going using her agility to keep out trouble. Hosaka immediately connected with a Frankensteiner for the three count (snake eyes!) from Morgan Dollar.

That cleared the way for a hot tag to Robert Gibson who came in on fire. Butcher Vachon was reeling and Gibson caught him flush with a back elbow smash and covered him for the surprise three count. The Express celebrated the win with the fans while Butcher Vachon wondered what happened.
Canadian Heavyweight Champion Lou Thesz beat Diamond Dallas Page. Morgan Dollar has strict instructions for both men. Thesz is a machine from the outset and quickly has a two count after an airplane spin. The story of the match was Thesz throwing everything at Page but Page found a way to escape defeat again and again. Page kicked out after a Thesz Press and a Greco-roman backdrop. He made the ropes to survive a stepover toehold facelock. Despite his heroics, Page really only had limited mid-level offense and eventually the tools the champion won out as Thesz hit back to back Thesz Presses to retain the championship. Wow! A potentially career changing victory for Chaz... Here's hoping he can carry this momentum into his upcoming Northern Lights title tourney match against Daivari...
Really enjoyed DDP's performance against the Canadian Heavyweight Champion in the main event, even though he came up short... No shame though -- Have to consider Thesz is possibly the best in the business...
Really looking forward to the next show... Especially Thesz and the RnR Express facing off against Koloff and the Vachons in six-man tag action... Fire it up!

Enjoyed the last few cards and what an upset win for Chaz Taylor over The Destroyer. Hopefully Chaz can build on that but I imagine The Destroyer will be looking for revenge. Win or lose I love seeing Lou Albano in action and it was great to see him beat Ron Hutchison. Congrats to Buddy Rogers on his title win over Terry Gordy and that Thesz-DDP man event was fun.
