I have two feds one that I never use & one that is my LWF. I usually have 8 guys going for the World title, 8 guys going for the Heritage(US, Inter Continental, etc.), 8 guys going for the X division(light heavyweight) and 8 tag teams going for the tag belts. That brings me to a roster of 40. That's about where I try to keep it. Sometimes for story purposes I have guys go to Japan, the "other" fed. Some guys (who out of respect I will not mention I just don't use) are relegated to the "lock box" which is an actual lockbox for storage.

Don't sweat it too much: Tom F used to have the same problem with the GWF. Remember how crowded the roster used to get before New Beginning? Sometimes it's hard to just let a guy go. With legends it's easier though, as a guy could just be visiting a different territory when you've got nothing for him after he loses the blowoff in a feud, then make his "dramatic return" when you need him again.
I have the solution for this with the Legends fed I run: Dark Menace just pulls guys out of the time stream as needed, so I can use anyone and everyone at any time. I keep a core roster of about 35 guys, but I cycle in guys when I feel like using them. Not to spoil it for the guys who read my results on TGBITG, but the on-going Cross Time Wrestling will be featuring just about everyone at some point, including some interesting scenarios where guys run into versions of partners or old foes who aren't quite the way they remember them.

I pretty much have a roster of 40 guys in my BCW fed (not counting the enhancement talent) and will have turnover of about 10 or so wrestlers a year, with some variation ... seems to work OK for me, but guys will "vanish" for a time even if they are in BCW just because there is not a big role for them at the moment ...

I have at least 80 singles competitors and everyone gets to wrestle.

It's hard to limit the guys you use. I thought three small feds instead of one giant one would make things easier. It really didn't. Now instead of trying to use everyone in one fed, I'm trying to use everyone and figure out which fed they best fit into. As a result, I've been suffering from burnout for a few weeks now.

Gunslinger nailed it on the head - burnout. I know some guys are able to keep rolling cards out week after week and some (like me) wrestle them when I get time and post when we get a chance. Then some of us get totally burned out after a while (been there) and it becomes a job, not fun. As daytondave can attest, I was running at least one card a day for the Rampage Wrestling group with all the territories and such. It got too much and burned me out. As long as it is fun, I wouldn't worry about roster size.

Yeah but cycling guys in and out is very helpful I found.

Yeah but cycling guys in and out is very helpful I found. Very true. That would also help not getting guys totally "played out", especially depending the number of shows you run per week/month.
