This graphic novel history of wrestling features the key grapplers, matches, and promotions that shaped this beloved sport and form of entertainment.

I took this book to FSW last night to start reading before the show began. I only made it through the first 7 pages before the first match, but this book is already incredible. Lots of good info on Farmer Burns such as how he basically started the British style of catch wrestling in the United States, trained Frank Gotch, and won the American Heavyweight Championship from Evan "Strangler" Lewis in 1895. Also some good stuff on colonial wrestling (back then it seems "rough and tumble" matches were often legitimately more extreme than today's ultraviolent/hardcore matches) and carnival wrestling too. And I am only on page 7.

I got this book a few weeks ago and have been meaning to put a recommendation up here on the boards. Its a really awesome graphic novel that does a great job telling the complete history of pro wrestling. It doesn't cover anything in super depth, but gives you a great amount of knowledge about a vast number of parts of pro wrestling history, and is a fun read. Highest of recommendations. Its fairly cheap on Amazon.

A very entertaining & informative book. Lots of great stories from the beginnings of wrestling to the present day. The artwork's fantastic too. I highly recommend it.
