Texas Championship Wrestling reboot.

TCW closed it's doors after only a couple of weeks. It turns out, the promoter took every dime from the box office for those cards and skipped town without paying any of the wrestlers or covering any of the other expenses that were incurred from running these shows. The owner had no choice but to pay everyone out of his own pocket and shut it down.

One man recognized that this territory still holds promise financially. So he stepped in and purchased the rights to the name and all other intellectual property from the previous owner. He released all the talent from their obligations with the intent to start completely over. This man is none other than Angelo Poffo!!

Poffo: “Thanks for the introduction, although I need none. My reputation speaks for itself. Now that I run Texas, things are going to run smoothly and profitably. The first order of business is titles. We will have a world title, a world tag team title and a Texas Heavyweight Title. I've ordered 4 wrestlers and 4 teams to compete in tournaments tonight for the World titles. Then two top wrestlers will compete for the Texas title. Tonight is truly a night of champions!!

World Title Tournament: Masked Superstar d Konnan

Konnan started the match strong, staggering Superstar with a series of punches and kicks. The tide turned when he decided to go for a high risk move off the top turnbuckle. Superstar caught him on the turnbuckle and tossed him off. The match went to the floor from there and eventually Superstar ended it with the Swinging Neckbreaker.

World Title Tournament: Rob Van Dam d George Gatton

This match was no contest from the beginning. Gatton got it minimal offense and lost in under 3 minutes. This sets of Rob Van Dam vs The Masked Superstar in the finals.

Road Warriors d The Sheepherders

This match was not nearly as wild as expected. The Legion of Doom hit the Doomsday Device for the win within just a few minutes.

Iron Sheik DDQ The Sandman

Sheiky Baby starts out by offering to shake Sandman's hand. The Sandman shakes up a beer and opens it all over the Sheik and lands a series of kicks and elbows to start the match. The advantage is short lived as Sheik takes over with a series of suplexes. The match quickly spills out of the ring and both men are disqualified for using weapons. There is no champion. Angelo Poffo quickly announces a rematch for next week where there will be no DQ.

The Midnight Express d the Kangaroos.

Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton took control early in this match. Tagging in and out quickly and keeping the Kangaroos off balance. After a back and forth match, Eaton hit the Alabama Jam for the win to set up a World Tag Team title match with the Road Warriors later tonight!

Rob Van Dam d The Masked Superstar to win the World Heavyweight Title!

Van Dam made pretty quick work of the masked man. Superstar had small flurries of offense, but the Whole F'n Show hit the Five Star Frog Splash for the win, and the World title!

The Midnight Express d The Road Warriors to win the World Tag Team Titles!

This match was a street fight from the opening bell. The Warriors seemed to have it under control until Bobby Eaton caught Animal with a clothesline off the top rope. The Midnight then took over and hit the Veg O Matic for the win.

Good Evening ladies and gentlemen! We're back with you for another exciting episode of Texas Championship Wrestling!! Tonight we have a Texas Title match between The Sandman and The Iron Sheik. This match will be no DQ since their last encounter ended with both men being disqualified.



We also have several newcomers on the card, including Ivan Koloff taking on the Patriot and Nick Bockwinkle facing off against Ed “Strangler” Lewis. Let's head to the ring!!



The Patriot d Ivan Koloff



This was a wild match that spilled out of the ring more than once. The Patriot finally hit The Patriot Missile for the win!



Nick Bockwinkle d Ed “Strangler” Lewis



Shockingly, Lewis was never even a factor in this match. He was dominated for the entire match. Bockwinkle won in under 3 minutes with the infamous Bockwinkle Sleeper!



The Sheepherders d The Bolsheviks



The Bolsheviks may be the only team in TCW that can make the fans cheer the Sheepherders. Ivan Koloff was at ringside with the Bolsheviks for this match. His attempt at interference backfired when he accidentally hit Boris Zhukov with the Russian Sickle. The Sheepherders took advantage to score the win.



Road Warriors d PG-13 DQ



This match only lasted about 2 minutes before JC Ice realized his team was in over its head and punched the referee to end it.



George Gatton d Masked Superstar



In the biggest upset of our young federation, George Gatton surprised Masked Superstar with a Sunset Flip and scored the pinfall. Before leaving the ring, Superstar was demanding a rematch. We'll see if he gets granted one.



The Fabulous Kangaroos d The Midnight Express



Bobby Eaton took a lot of punishment in this match. He kicked out of several pin attempts before finally succumbing to the BOOMERANG. As a result of this match, the Kangaroos will get a shot at the world tag team title next week!!



Rob Van Dam d Konnan



This was a wild match that went all over the arena. Van Dam finally wins with a legdrop across the guardrail.



Sandman d Iron Sheik in a no DQ match for the Texas Heavyweight Title



The no DQ stipulation was right in Sandman's wheelhouse. He totally dominated this match and scored the pinfall after he hit a pair of White Russian Legsweeps.

Diamond Dallas Page d Konnan



This was an amazing match between two tough competitors. The momentum swung back and forth several times, with DDP absorbing 3 facebusters and still refusing to lose. He finally won when Konnan attempted a somersault lariat and found himself on the receiving end of a Diamond Cutter instead.



Ed “Strangler” Lewis d Masked Superstar



This contest was as intense and hard-fought as anything we've seen yet here in TCW. Both men had several chances to win, but Lewis finally locked in the Strangler's Headlock for the win!



Iron Sheik d Rick Rude



Sheiky Baby showed off his neck strength and toughness by absorbing 3 piledrivers from Rude before dropping The Ravishing One with a loaded boot followed by the Camel Clutch.



Ivan Koloff d George Gatton



Gatton's win streak ends at one, as Koloff dominates the match and wins by countout.



Road Warriors d The Bolsheviks



The Warriors dominated this match in typical Legion of Doom fashion. They won in under 3 minutes when Hawk hit Nikolai Volkoff with a backbreaker.



The Patriot d The Sandman in a non-title match



This was a brawl from the opening bell. Both men took turns dishing out punishment. Eventually, The Patriot hit the Patriot Missile for the win. This result earns The Patriot a Texas Title match next week!



Before our next match gets underway, we have Jim Cornette at ringside with something to say and a microphone in is hand. Take it away Mr. Cornette!



Cornette: Look, everybody knows that I manage the greatest team in the history of this sport. The fact that those fools from down under managed to luck into a non-title win last week means nothing! Tonight, the Midnight will show just how devastating our combination of teamwork, smarts and good-looks can be!



As Cornette is leaving the ringside area, Nick Bockwinkle comes down and takes the microphone from his hand. Rob Van Dam, you've done pretty well for yourself. But tonight, I expect that you'll come crashing down to earth when you get in the ring with me. This is the first step towards me becoming World's heavyweight champion!!



Nick Bockwinkle d Rob Van Dam in a non-title match



Bockwinkle didn't hold anything back. He unleashed a variety of suplexes and piledrivers until Van Dam just didn't have anything left to give. Tricky Nicky scored the pin with a back suplex after delivering a lot of damage to Van Dam's neck. This earns Bockwinkle a shot at the World heavyweight title next week.



Midnight Express d The Fabulous Kangaroos



The Kangaroos never had a chance. The Midnight's teamwork was unbeatable in this one, as the Kangaroos were not able to make even one tag. Eaton hit the Midnight Massacre for the win.



Ladies and gentlement, as a result of two non title wins tonight, there will be two title matches next week. You don't want to miss this!

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! We are proud to bring you not 1, but 2 big title matches tonight. 1St, The Sandman will defend the Texas Title against The Patriot. And, in what should be an incredible match, Rob Van Dam will defend the World Heavyweight Title against Nick Bockwinkle. We also have lots of other great action in store! Now let's head to the ring.



George Gatton d Ivan Koloff



Gatton demanded a rematch after losing to The Russian Bear last week. When presented with the option of facing Gatton again, Koloff just laughed and signed the contract. Gatton was better prepared this week, as he withstood Uncle Ivan's initial onslaught and landed a Stinger Splash for the win. Who knows what might be in store for this young man.



The Road Warriors d The Kangaroos



This was an extremely hard fought contest that saw both teams absorb a lot of punishment. The Warriors won when Hawk hit the Doomsday Device for the pin. The championship committee has decreed that this win makes the Warriors the number one contenders for the World Tag Team Titles and puts them in line for a title shot.



Jimmy Snuka d Ed “Strangler” Lewis



Snuka made quick work of The Strangler in this one. He hit the Superfly Splash for the win after just a few minutes.



Masked Superstar d The Iron Sheik



Both men were willing to do anything to win this match. The Sheik even loaded his boot. Superstar finally won with his vaunted Cobra Clutch.



Rick Rude d Diamond Dallas Page



Rude took control when the referee was knocked down. Rude managed to hit two Rude Awakenings before the ref could get back to his feet. DDP was out cold at this point and Rude dragged him up and hit another Rude Awakening for the win.



The Patriot d The Sandman for the Texas Title



The Patriot won this match in short order, hitting Uncle Slam for the pin in under 4 minutes.



Rob Van Dam d Nick Bockwinkle DQ



Van Dam pulled out all the stops tonight, taking the match outside the ring almost immediately. They both used everything they could get their hands on. Bockwinkle was finally disualified for using a steel chair.

Big Announcement!!


Some amazing things have been happening in TCW over the past month. Here to tell you about it is the owner of TCW, Angelo Poffo:

Poffo: You people know that when I'm involved, big things happen. When I took over this tiny little promotion, I did it with much bigger things in mind. Today I can announce one of those bigger things. TCW has just joined a new alliance, comprised of promoters from four different regions of the country. We will collectively be known as the National Championship Wrestling Alliance.

Each promotion will cover a larger portion of the country than we did previously. TCW will now be known as Southwest Championship Wrestling. The World title that currently belongs to Rob Van Dam will be renamed the Southwest heavyweight title and a tournament, involving all four champions is currently in the works. The same is true for the world tag team titles currently held by the Midnight Express. The world title tournament will involve the following four regional champions:

Rob Van Dam Southwest

Buddy Rogers Northeast

Magnum TA. Southeast

Stan Hansen Northwest



This tournament will be held on the same night as the World tag team title tournament, which will involve the following four teams:

Midnight Express Southwest

Love Brothers Northeast

Miracle Violence Connection Southeast

Fantastics Northwest



These world champions will be traveling champions, defending in all four regions. This will mean fresh, meaningful, matches for our local fans. A talent share agreement also means that you, the fans, will see a constant influx of new talent.

These tournaments will be shown on our next TV show in their entirety. You don't want to miss the start of this new era in pro wrestling!!
