This was from AJW. The format was 2 out of 3 Falls for the WWWA Tag Team Titles. Together Champions Noriyo Tateno and Itsuki Yamazaki comprised The Jumping Bomb Angels! The JBA later had a brief run in the WWF and were 'let go' partly for fear that their ring work was outperforming that of many of the men on the roster! Challengers Lioness Asuka & Chigusa Nagayo formed one of the best drawing tag teams in the history of the industry, The Crush Girls! Fans from the mid '80s may recall lucrative recurring tag programs like the Rock n Roll Express vs The Midnight Express...but seldom few realize that during this same period of time these two female teams were performing matches of a quality on par (arguably better) while drawing more money as headliners! This wasn't SHIMMER at the local bingo hall. A look back at one of the most outstanding tag programs in Joshi history.

This was from JWP and was formatted as a 'one count match'. This begins with a 'gauntlet style' series of singles elimination matches (with each having a five minute time limit). When a 'one count' pin is scored the winning wrestler remains while the next girl from the losing team comes in. Should the time limit expire, both girls exit and two new girls start. Once one side has ran through their entire squad, this then converts into an eight woman '4 on 4' tag match with a sole 'one count' fall securing a team victory. A good glimpse of some of the top stars on the JWP roster from the era. The format showcases some very unique ring psychology.

This was an inter-promotional challenge match from Wrestlemarinepiad 93 between teams representing AJW and JWP. This was formated as a 'Captains Fall Match' with Shimoda (AJW) and Suzuki (JWP) leading their respective squads. Under this booking concept the match proceeds in a standard team elimination fashion...with the caveat being that should a 'Team Captain' be pinned or submitted an outright team victory would be secured. The benefit to watching a match like this is that it offers those unfamiliar with the era (but looking to learn more) a chance to see some of the lesser discussed secondary stars from both rosters performing in a marque setting. At the time this was rated 'five stars' by the Pro Wrestling Torch!
