I'm sad we never got the overnight hotel manager to challenge me on Saturday night. That would have been something!

that would have been great. It was a lot of fun to see everyone again and though things were not perfect (especially poor IB's spill when her walker broke) I am already looking forward to next year. We might have to tweak the tournaments a bit but I'm looking forward to more Sudden Death goodness.

I was honestly expecting more challenges throughout the weekend. No one challenged during the AEW show or during any meal. I think we can have fun with the concept next year.

I was really hoping to hear about someone interrupting your shower with a challenge, or something equally as inappropriate. Had a great time as always, already looking forward to next year.

We did make rules against that though it would have been funny. I was going to challenge during AEW but was too tired....didn't matter in the end. I think next year we'll see more challenges.

Just some thoughts from the weekend Flying is a pain. Security and need for assistance makes it exhausting. I'll chance riding Greyhound next year most likely. IB and I were probably there first. Was fun seeing people come in. Mike, then Smoke and his boys and some others, before meeting up with TM and hanging with him for a bit. Then Jim Steel showed up and it was make sure IB was good till we left for the game. Kevin and Kathy were not going so she had company once they arrived. The game was fine....I didn't pay a lot of attention but mostly bounced from person to person chatting for a while and then occasionally watching what was happening. I'm sure others would have better stories. Got to see Boomer when TM was giving him some cards. I was hoping to get mine signed but he was not in Boomer mode yet so I was going to try and grab him later but that didn't work out so my new mission is to get a signed card eventually. Saw Drew from a distance but his line was too long and Vegas said they were only doing pics and no autographs. After the game ended, there was a fireworks show which was way too noisy for my poor ears but they looked nice. Then the Chikara show was fun mostly thanks to Quack as well as John Francis and Boomer. The Midnight release was its usual fun seeing most of the people getting the sets and then doing what we all do which is sit back and read. While others were going to do their thing, I was ready to hit the sack since I had been up for 24 hours so as it dwindled a bit, I went to do just that. Saturday was a lot of fun. One thing was clear though...32 wrestler tournaments with less than 32 people are a pain as the time can go off. Congrats to Broc, Pete and JaRon for winning their tournaments that day. Trivia was decent as we experimented with a new format. If we're going to keep it, we'll tweak it some more. Auction was nice as I picked up the notes for 2135 (I hope to read them this weekend) and people were quite generous. The Q and A and story behind 2135 were very interesting even if there were a couple small hiccups involved. After the Canada Cup finished, we went back to the hotel. Several were going to Evolve but I knew I was not going to be up for that. Did some chatting and helped TM set up for the AEW show. Watched it for a bit but Brandi Rhodes wore me out and I went back to see Kevin, Kathy, Jim Steel and IB. Sunday's goal of running 5 tournaments of course quickly proved ludicrous (Creeper was in the finals and I had just finished my first match...losing to Kevin's daughter for a second time) I'm going to tweak things a bit next year by having people write who advances so I can concentrate on matches a bit. Before we got in, there was some chaos and it wasn't the supreme kind. First, the room we had used for Saturday was not available and second, IB's walker suddenly decided to bite the dust causing a nasty spill. Eventually, we sorted things out but it made for a rough trip home at points. Once the tournaments were done and I had finally put TM down for the Sudden Death title....I gave John a shot so that if I had to leave, the SD champion could be in the tournament. We also gave Sam a slot as the Canada Cup runner up (IB made it to the semifinals, best showing between the two of us. I never got out of the second round of any of the five tournaments this year) In the end, Broc's Spike SE was a bit too much for the original (colorized) Bishop Hell. Kevin Melesky generously drove IB and myself back to Philly and though there was a slight mixup on where we needed to be, we finally got to where to go and eventually got home safely. I'm already planning for next year and shout outs to my friends like KW and the super adorable Kathy, TM, Vegas, Gainer, Brucetosis, Broc and Diana (and their ultra adorable daughter) and everyone else. Hope we get a big turn out for next year. Until then, make mine Filsinger.

What a disappointment! I hit the airport at 5:15 am on Friday, only to learn that my departing flight was postponed and I would be unable to make the connection to Philly for my expected noon arrival. Best they could do would be to get me to Philly by Midnight Friday, so no ballgame, no CHIKARA, and probably a crappy night of sleep Friday and tired all day Saturday. I opted to cancel the trip and go back to bed. If I had it to do over again, I would have taken the later flight option, but it was 5:00 am and I was in no mood for anything but getting back to bed.
I managed to get my CHIKARA and Evolve tickets transferred over to my sister and my nephew. Debby and Stephen made it to the ballgame, and they were very happy to meet the group and impressed by how nice and welcoming you all were. Thanks for that! Steve is friends with Bryce Remsburg, and he was able to get Bryce up to the porch for a meet and greet. I was so jealous!
Congrats to Broc for winning the cup!
I am interested to learn who won the tournaments- especially which Legends cards performed well. I missed hanging out with the gang this year- hope I get to make it next time around.
