GalactiCon 2020 is going to be at the Sheldon House in Jamestown , due to the fact that it's a HUGE milestone year right? 50th game edition and 30th GCon

I rather hope not. Feels like we've outgrown it and Jamestown will always suffer from lack of hotel space.

This community is so nostalgic about set releases, and how more nostalgic can you get than having GCon 30 where you had GCon 1? How is a side room at a restaurant/bar this year outgrowing the Sheldon House?

Besides, I thought it was a done deal due to the milestones mentioned above... Atleast I remember TOM saying that was the plan for GCon 30 and 50th game edition release.

These were the days.... How can you outgrown this? Galacticon in the 90's and early 200's were something SPECIAL.

Yeah, a miracle concert booking is the reason I’m going this year. They just fell on the same weekend. Otherwise Philly wasn’t even in consideration for me. Too far. We will end up losing some great players (& contributors) because of the locations this year & if it’s it Philly agin next year, I’d expect the same but more loss.

Actually from the early looks, nearly everyone from Pitt is planning on coming back this year. Though I've been to SH several times, it doesn't hold the nostalgia for me it does for others. Also, no guarantee at this point that we'd actually get SH if we went to Jamestown. Looks like someone purchased it for a home resident. Unless he wants to host us, I think Sheldon House is a no go.

If I can make it, I will go to Galacticon next year regardless of location.
I hope Chicago is still a possibility for a future Galacticon. We have some great members of this community from the Chicago area as well as the greater Midwest and Chicago's centralized location makes getting cheap flights there very easy from my past experiences of flying out there.
