NFL Draft 2019

I am watching part of tonight's draft before leaving to watch the new Avengers movie.

What do you think of the draft so far?

I was a little surprised by who the Raiders picked at #4.

But the trades were interesting. Especially the Giants going for 3 first round picks to tie Raiders. Surprised Sweat fell so much and that Greedy and DK still on the board.

My Steelers sure filled a hole in the middle with their trade with Denver. It was a good deal for both clubs.

I think the best thing about the Giants taking Jones with 6th pick overall is watching the "experts" on TV try to save their rep while making the Giants GM seem as not being honest and maybe even not knowing a lot. The GM said they took him at 6 instead of waiting till 17 is two teams had eyes on him and might take him before 17. The experts, on NFL Live at least, are saying there were no teams. Maybe they are right that their info showed no one would take Jones that high but their info did not show the Giants would take him. So maybe they need to admit they don't always know everything.

As someone who was surprised by the pick, you make a great point. To be fair, I heard a bunch of buzz leading up to the draft that teams were higher on Jones than the draft "experts" were. I just don't think that any of them expected him to go that high, hence the reaction.

And you will never get a GM who got a QB to admit that Jones was their first choice because they wouldn't say anything to undermine their new guy (see Cincinnati, Denver, Miami, Washington or maybe even New England).

Exactly. I mean in all reality they did reach for him and he might have been there at 17. I just found it amusing with a bit of annoying that all the people On ESPN's NFL Today this afternoon would not accept it MIGHT have been possible someone between 7-16 might have took Jones. I mean if Tampa say took him at 5 and said what Giants are those same people would say no one was yet we now know the Giants would and did. The experts just couldn't admit that maybe they didn't have all the info which clearly they didn't as Giants were not mocked to take Jones at all, be it 6 or 17.
