The voting period to determine the Second Induction Class into the Tag Team Wing of the CotG HOF has now begun. To accommodate those who value their privacy and wish to participate by way of 'Closed Ballot'...every board member (at the time of this writing) has been PM'd a copy of the voting slate. You can cast a closed ballot by way of a simple return PM. All privately submitted ballots will remain private beyond a simple count. Voters can also participate by way of 'Open Ballot' in the thread you are now reading. Please do not do both! To recap the following issues were previously determined by way of majority vote: i The voting threshold for affirmation has been set at 75%
ii Each ballot allows for a maximum of 37% Affirmative Votes. While voters _ARE NOT REQUIRED_ to max out any of their ballots...everyone is limited to work with-in that percentage. The total number of outright affirmative votes allowed is clearly denoted at the top of each ballot. Please do not exceed it.
iii Criteria for worthiness is dictated by the unique experiences of each promoter and not deterred by any 'official' game play barriers
With the ideal in mind of providing all members of the community with a generous opportunity to participate...voting will remain open for a period slightly over a month. If you know of someone who may not be actively visiting this board but who may still have an interest in participating...then please reach out to them. Inform others about both the open and closed voting modes of participation and let them know they are invited and encouraged to become a part of the process. CotG artist extraordinaire Werner Mueck has been commissioned to perform artwork honoring the inductees...should there be any. Said inductees would be added into the CotG HOF Gallery shortly after the votes are tallied. _________________________________________________________ The voting period officially ends at the close of Sunday December 7th 11 PM PST. Please do not submit any Open or Closed Ballots anytime thereafter as they would not be counted. This one is difficult as I believe several of these teams belong in the Hall of Fame...so, after much thought here is my votes:
Mercenaries: These two held the GWF Galaxian Tag Team Championships several times and their battles inside the squared circle have become that of legend! The mastermind behind this team (at least in my fed) was Guile that put the Galactic Punisher (changed his name to Punisher and then officially to Vigilante) and Soldier of Fortune as Master Plan when Guile put together the first rendition of "Vigilante's Incorporated"! This team (along with Bounty Hunter and Chopper Mattock) became the Four Horsemen of the GWF and took no flack from anyone! They had epic battles against the likes of Gladiator Legends, New Order, Cosmic Forces, and TitanXpress just to name a few...after separating from Guile and joining forces with Krakan, the two changed their name to the Mercenaries and not surprisingly become vicious! Under Krakan's tutelage, they had epic battles against Gladiator Vanguard, Twin Blood, Desolation Factor, Lethal Lottery, and the list could go on for almost ten minutes. In my opinion, these two helped shape the history of the tag division and will be the first nomination for the Hall of Fame from this promoter.
New Order: This team did something no other team in the history of the GWF had done...they struck fear into the Aethrans (whether they admitted it or not)! The duo of Dreggs and Mace were victims of the Aethran conquests and were fighting for their freedom from the grip of Aethran Oppression! These two not only won the Galaxian Tag Championships from the Gladiators but won the first Sudden Death series! These two held (at the time) held the tag straps longer than any other team and were fan favorites the entire time. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end as differences broke up the team and they went their separate ways. At the end of the teams career, Mace left the GWF and signed on to the upstart federation of th Colby Pelf Corporation. His partner, Dreggs, was put out of wrestling by Blazing Skull after the Maxxus native shoved Lorelei out of harms way and took DEATH BY FIRE that scarred him permanently. So, it is with great honor to submit my second choice to the Tag Team branch of the Hall of Fame.
Thank you for your time.

Tough to pick two out of those six. My votes:
The Mercenaries The Greek Gods
MERCENARIES: 5-time GWF Tag-Team Champions 1-time Six-Man Champions
Galactic Punisher: 2-time GWF Tag-Team Champion 3-time Interplanetary Tag-Team Champion
Tongsoon: 2-time Interplanetary Tag-Team Champion
Another no-brainer is my tag-team choice for the Hall of Fame - The Mercenaries. Vigilante and the Soldier of Fortune had a long and storied career in the GWF. Both of these men began their wrestling careers with different names and personas.
Vigilante debuted in 2089 as the Galactic Punisher and embarked on a 20-year career. Teaming with Justice as the GalactiCops, he won the GWF tag-team titles twice. He also was a three-time Interplanetary tag-team champion, with one of those reigns with the Star Warrior as his partner. During his time as an intergalactic enforcer for the hero team, he did not actively seek out championships, and never held a singles belt. The Galactic Punisher did, however, win Battle Bowl: The Lethal Lottery. After winning a tag-team match with his randomly drawn partner Matador, he emerged victorious in a double-ring battle royal.
The Punisher changed his image and name to Vigilante when he joined forces with Krakan in the Hitmen for Hire. He started a team with the Soldier of Fortune, and the Mercenaries went on to a stellar career. The Mercenaries captured the Galaxian tag titles on five different occasions. Along with Splatter, they garnered the Six-Man belts once.
During the Mercenaries run at the top of the tag-team division, they came back after a first-round defeat at the 32-team Double Elimination Tag-Team Terror Tournament to win the trophy. They also won the Six-Man Seizure Tournament.
The Soldier of Fortune also has a lot of history in his career. He entered the GWF as Tongsoon in the same year as the Galactic Punisher. Tongsoon also went into tag-team competition, forming the Alien Corps with Dreadnaught, who was then known as Comrade Terror. Although known as a tag-team wrestler for his entire career, Tongsoon, ironically, tossed the Galactic Punisher to win the first ever Royal Rumble.
The Alien Corps would win the Interplanetary tag-team titles on two occasions, beating Titan Power both times for the belts. Tongsoon and Comrade Terror still hold the record for the longest I-P tag-title reign in GWF history.
After Tongsoon lost a Torture Chamber match to his former partner Dreadnaught at Galaxian Bash ’92, he was forced to enter the Transevolver and be turned into a human. He then joined with Krakan in the Hitmen for Hire, and formed the Mercenaries with Vigilante.
GREEK GODS 4-time GWF tag team champions 2-time I-P tag team champions
(with different partner) Actagon: 2-time GWF tag team champion; I-P tag team champion; Six-Man tag team champion Proteus: 2-time GWF tag team champion; 2-time I-P tag team champion; Six-Man tag team champions
(singles) Actagon: 2-time GWF TV champion
It was hard to leave off the New Order.
NEW ORDER (Dreggs & Mace) 4-time GWF tag team champions Dreggs 2-time GWF tag team champion (with Sleeze) I-P tag team champion (with Sleeze) Cruiserweight champion 2-time Six-Man tag team champion (Raven & Holocaust; Mace & Raven)
Mace 3-time Six-Man tag team champion (Dreggs & Raven; Molotok & Kulak twice)
Dreggs and Mace, the New Order, were consistently one of the top three tag teams in the GWF. This duo went straight at the Gladiators their entire career. The New Order were four-time GWF tag team champions and defeated Brute & Massacre for three of those title reigns and the Mercenaries for the fourth. The New Order took the belts from the Gladiators in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at SuperBrawl III, and beat the Mercenaries in a Chicago Street Fight at Pain & Punishment '97.
Along their partners in W.A.R., Dreggs & Mace were also Six-Man tag team champions. Dreggs, Mace & Raven held those titles together while Dreggs also won them with Raven & Holocaust. Mace, Molotok and Kulak wore those belts on two occasions.
After breaking up, Dreggs went on to enjoy more success in the GWF. Dreggs and Sleeze were two-time GWF tag team champions and also held the Interplanetary tag team titles. Twin Blood defeated then champion Gladiators, Ninja Assassins, and the Rebel Empire in a Four Corners Match at Galacticmania V. Dreggs also had a run as Cruiserweight champion.
